i was a little wary about sampling this because the burning plastic/rubber thing going on in eldo's fat electrician made me nauseous; but for mysterious chemistry reasons the industrial notes paired with a deep vanilla are DELICIOUS here. i wasn't even aware or had forgotten how much i like the scent of motor oil...a straight-up sensual note this smells like wanting to eat an oil slick, like pulling into the gas station at the beginning of an anticipated but inevitably bumpy roadtrip, like ripley in her underwear aboard the doomed nostromo, like the faint memory of hugging your truck-driver uncle in reno, nevada when you were six; he's now been dead for a long time. warm and cool, inviting and off-putting, sentimental and brutal--best suited for sensibilities that curve towards polarity. highly desirable in the way that only things laced with a little bit of personal pain can be. to my nose, by far the most interesting and distinct of the three SDW perfumes, a real achievement. wish they sold smaller bottles; i want it regardless

This is the most memory evoking of the trio for me. A trip to Disney World in mid summer. You’re waiting for the monorail with a Mickey shaped Ice cream half melted and dripping down your arm. You can smell the gears and tires as the tram pulls up to take you to magic Kingdom, Epcot, or the parking lot. You’re just a kid who’s going to hold on to these last disney moments till you can come back again. And then you’re all grown up, and this is your candy sweet perfume as it fills the air of the back seat of his car, he’s worked all day at the shop and you can still smell the leather and motor oil emanating from his clothes. You’re making out to The Stooges and you’re not sure why you know this is the last time you will see eachother. This is my Nonnas Coney Island where she was born and played as a kid. A sight of American splendor and pastime. Get your fortune read by Zoltar or ride the Cyclone if you dare. This is a damn beautiful thing, this fragrance.

Coney Island Baby is a rain puddle in a pot hole iridescent with oil slick. In the distance is the combined aroma of sugary, deep fried carnival offerings and the generator fumes from old ferris wheels and roller coasters. Everything in this feels cheap and dirty in the best way possible. It's sunset hot and smoggy. I feel like I should wash my hands after smelling it. I've been on a gasoline, synthetic, sweet, "weird" fragrance kick lately and this was a perfect addition to my collection. So evocative and realistic. That's 3 for 3 on the SDW collection. Very impressed and can't wait to see what's next. Edit: Nothing will be coming next lol. How hard is it to simply not spew vile hatred online? How hard is it to just be a normal decent person? Good fucking christ. How disappointing. Wouldn't have bought this shit if I'd known how gross this creators beliefs are.

I love this. It opens with a dose of petroleum and sticky sweet vanilla. The vanilla smells exactly like the soft-serve ice cream my local china buffet used to have. It's warm and industrial and delicious all the same. I asked my brother to smell it and he says it made him think of a blue sky. To me, it reminds me of "The Florida Project." The lavender-colored motel, the heat of the summer, children enjoying their innocent youths despite the not-so-best situations they're surrounded by. My only wish is that the rubber smell stayed until the end. All I get after an hour is the vanilla which I don't hate but can become cloying after a while. I'm gonna let it macerate and continue to test it out because it's a beautiful fragrance either way.

Like many others I *was* excited to try this perfume and I really did fall in love with the sample. I thought it was perfect for fall. It reminded me of walking around my local county fair with funnel cake and a gust of exhaust fumes blows by (I've always loved the smell of gas and motor oil). I would pair it with my Nemat amber oil and it was exactly the kind of signature scent I've been searching for. I was just waiting to get paid before buying the full sample and then of course *the news.* I will obviously not be supporting this person or giving them anymore of my money. It's just so beyond disappointing. If anyone has any recommendations for something similar to this.....please let me know.

A true masterpiece. The oily gears of an old wooden rollercoaster and hot waffle cones from a boardwalk on a summer day by the sea. My ultimate gourmand. It truly captures the essence of Coney Island and its infinite contrasts. Sometimes for an extra pop of sweet, I'll layer a heavy blast of Coney Island Baby with Lick Me. I will never understand the weird boycotting of Scout, as if the people doing so have any understanding of the views of the creators of any of the thousands of products they use daily, including other perfumers and perfume houses. People act morally outraged but all I see are people relishing in every moment of her 'take down' like a pack of ghouls.

I’m a one-perfume-at-a-time girl and had been on an ongoing Comme des Garçons Original streak until I came across Coney Island Baby. The blend sweet vanilla and gasoline is perfect. Although I tend to stick with classics and shy away from new releases, I couldn't pass this one up; it feels timeless. It’s disappointing to see the reviews for this incredible fragrance cluttered with irrelevant comments. I am so glad I won't be smelling like the bloodthirsty low-lifes who spend their time combing through this person's personal twitter activity to justify tearing down something remarkable they've worked so hard to create.

What I would think I would smell like if I was a Barbie doll. Smells kind of like a rubber boot? Kind of plastic-y sweet. Like still being able to smell the vanilla perfum a dominatrix is wearing through her full latex suit. Definitely reminds me of something from my childhood at the same time though? Each time I smell it I pick up a different note and it just keeps me constantly sniffing my wrist. It gets sweeter as it goes on, I wish it held that plastic-y rubbery smell throughout the wear. I didn’t think rubber boot smell would make me feel so sexy. I do wish it projected more and lasted longer.

omg wow! first time smelling an industrial gourmand and im so so so pleased!! i dont get the bergamot but perhaps its just mixing in well to create this like,, super duper epic of a smell!! petrol! garage! someone that rlly can handle the tools! i get the waffle cone through the hint of sweetness and the stryrax!!! the vanilla just rounds out the petrol smell but it works really well. the dry down is just a really interesting amber and styrax mix i rlly love it edit: found out what time of person she is ughhhh what a shame :(
- em inglês
This fragrance is so impressive to me because it really does smell like what she described this perfume to be. My skin really picks up on the vanilla and styrax.. Once it completely settles onto my skin it smells like yummy creamy vanilla and amber it is quite appealing actually. I chose this bottle as my blind buy and im glad that i did. I cant stop smelling my wrists. i enjoy more out of the ordinary scents and i love a gourmand so this is the best of both worlds for me. It also lasts all day on my skin.

I’ll never understand cancel culture. It’s truly astonishing how poorly people have treated this girl. Cooney Island baby is beautifully made, with unique features and the dry down is beautiful. In a market saturated with vanilla gourmands this is a breath of fresh air. Also I should mention Scout herself fixed an issue I had with my order, she was incredibly kind, going above and beyond as a business owner. I can’t wait to give this unique perfume to my daughter for Christmas!
- em inglês
Regardless of the controversy of the brand owner, this scent is really really cool. I love the concept of the seaside rollercoaster desert gourmand scent, really really a shame it will never get the praise it deserves now. The Concept, Scent and Bottle are all so so attractive to me but I will likely not be repurchasing from this house. Hate or Love the owner, this really nailed the concept of an industrial gourmand and ive been told it smells like a manly cookie.
- em inglês
I purchased the discovery set and expected Coney Island Baby to be my least liked fragrance so I started with that one. Surprise - it was love at first whiff and I didn’t even smell the other ones for weeks! I couldn’t get enough of that rubber meets the road scent mingled with sweet...I was addicted like Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle inhaling her nail polish. Got the full bottle!
- em inglês
I really love fragrances that basically hit you in the face with something refreshing and to me, gasoline is such a refreshing and invigorating scent. I definitely get some nostalgia from it but I don’t know where to place it. The base notes of vanilla and waffle cone make it so much more wearable and it’s nice to have a calming and warm come down after that initial intensity.
- em inglês
Car exhaust, musty leather seats, and tire rubber sitting atop a distinctly working class vanilla ice cream. The kind with the paper lid and a wooden spoon. The small town girls who grew up spending after school hours with their monosyllabic grandfathers until their moms got home from work may not survive this one without shedding a tear. I certainly didn’t.
- em inglês
Bought this a month ago and and have worn it every day since. Opening reminds me of CDG Eau de Parfum: addicting industrial smell similar to gasoline or glue, followed by soft vanilla-waffle cone notes. Incense lovers will enjoy this. There's nothing truly like it - my favorite thing to wear since discovering Angel a few years ago.
- em inglês
this perfume arrived in the mail while i was in the middle of reading Stephen King’s It, so it now reminds me of 1950s kitsch, red rubber pennywise balloons, and the fairgrounds the gay couple in the book go to before they get hate-crimed. i love it. the people review-bombing this are beneath contempt, and really embarrassing
- em inglês
Blind bought a bottle because of Scout's TikTok. This perfume is bonkers. It really does smell like car exhaust. It settles into this really sweet, smoky, evil-girl-vanilla. It smells like my tourist trap childhood - fresh waffle cone, but someone's rollin' coal down the highway. I fear I'm not cool enough to wear this.
- em inglês
A true unisex that may lean a bit feminine, but only slightly. It smells amazing and unique. I can't stop blending it with more masculine musky fragrances to balance them out with the ice cream and add a depth with the vanilla. My girlfriend can't stop blending it with airy floral scents to give them depth. Amazing!
- em inglês
A smoky, grown-up gourmand with incredible longevity, I get so many compliments on it and it's become one of my staples. Evokes a summer night but I'd wear it all year round. The waffle and vanilla are present but not overpowering or sickly sweet, the amber and bergamot really shine through.
- em inglês
This is a beautifully strange yet gourmand fragrance. It opens with a leathery, ylang ylang forward vanilla, but dries down to a soft, ambery, photorealistic vanilla waffle cone. It’s quite long lasting and perfect for any weather, particularly fall or winter.
- em inglês
Starts off a little rough with tire/gasoline smell, but as it dries down, gets sweeter and warmer. Makes me imagine being in a Cadillac in the 70's, summertime, eating a vanilla cone. This scent is definitely not for everyone, but I happen to love it.
- em inglês
LOVE this perfume! First of all, the name. I'm a big Lou Reed fan so I had to sample it. Was so blown away that I got a full bottle right after. It's sweet in the best way, with that underlying gasoline scent. Sounds weird but it's so good!
- em inglês
I purchased the trial set and while this scent wasn't my favorite of the three (bc its on the sweeter side) - it was still absolutely divine. Would 100% recommend if you like this scent profile.
- em inglês
Sorry this slaps. From afar it smells exactly like a street fair. Gasoline and asphalt with faint sugar and cream. Up close it almost smells like a leathery vanilla. Takes you on quite a ride
- em inglês
LOVE this one. I bought the sample pack of 3 of her top fragrances and Coney Island Baby was both mine and my girlfriend's favorite. The smell is intoxicating in the best way
- em inglês
this smells like going to a theme park for the first time. the inside of a ride combined with balloons, vanilla, gasoline. it evokes a certain nostalgia within me
- em inglês
An ice cream cone dripping through your fingers in your dad's autobody shop, mixing with the gasoline on the ground...nearly exactly how I envisioned it to smell.
- em inglês
full disclosure, somehow this perfume made me horny for a version of myself that doesn't exist and has never existed. and i think i'm in love with her
- em inglês
One of the most gorgeous perfumes I’ve smelled. There’s literally nothing else like it.
- em inglês
thank god i bought two backup bottles. i hope she eventually brings it back!

One of the few true Modern Masterpieces

Dropped and broke my sample of this before I could try it properly rushing into a class I was teaching and was late for. Devastated. But! There could have been worse perfumes to drop and make an entire classroom full of college freshmen smell for an hour and 30 minutes. I can smell it all over my hands post clean up so in the end I got to wear test it. I was expecting this to be more metallic, industrial, smoggy, but instead is much more burning rubber, gas, and oil. Which I think is why I was so scared to wear it when the bottle was still intact. To me, the rubber is quite forward. But on the skin it definitely comes in lighter, more subtle wafts- especially when worn alongside other vanilla-y musky frags. I enjoy it much more that way. I don't think I would wear it enough for a full bottle in fear of sitting next to someone on the subway and smelling like a midwestern truck stop, but a really beautifully crafted perfume.
- em inglês
Really fun hyper-realistic fragrance to smell, indulge and reminisce in. Takes you on a whole day trip journey to the fairground; dry concrete smothered in gasoline, a highway close by, rollercoaster wheels grinding and screeching on the metal track, cotton candy and every other sweet treat mixed into one big slush which is later thrown up onto the fabric seats of an old toyota and endlessly cleaned for years and years to no avail - an eternal smell, stained forever.
- em inglês
Opening on me is fresh asphalt but it was not unpleasant (surprisingly) and felt very cool girl. It took a while to settle into my skin, but when it did, the vanilla ice cream with a hint of rubber boot remained. Super unique and smells just as Scout described. Probably not something I want a full bottle of, but maybe a travel size when they become available.
- em inglês
burnt rubber and a vintage worn out leather jacket, something faintly sweet lingering in the background. smells like burying your face into the chest of a beautiful man, gasoline and motor oil hits too, like the bike he rode on his way to you. certainly an experience.
- em inglês
old leather jackets and the freshly blown out candle on a birthday cake. this perfume is for people who love the smell at the gas station (me). i usually don't like vanillas but this is one i'd wear
- em inglês
I can't get enough of that burnt rubber scent! I keep sniffing my arm when I wear this one. Really unique, but still wearable. I am not a big vanilla/gourmond person, but this one I like.
- em inglês
I find this delicious. Synthetic squeaky pleather, hot asphalt on tires, gas station, a vanilla that reminds me of Backwoods. A bit wonderfully trashy.
- em inglês
You really get the vanilla waffle cone note in the very beginning, then it turns into this industrial, metal scent with an underlying sweetness.
- em inglês
the waffle maker overflowed in the garage and the hot batter mixed with the 5w-30 evocative and gorgeous

Spirituesse Double Vanille on greasy mechanic <3

writing this review after the world found out about her gross bigotry. putting that aside, for now, i will say my initial reaction of this scent was a bit visceral. the first accords to come to surface are rubber, burnt plastic, and some slight smokiness. it is much more pleasant on the dry down, with the vanilla and waffle cone scent finally wafting through. once these come to light it mixes alright with the rubbery accords from before, but honestly, it's just okay. given that i bought this perfume prior to learning about her disgusting views, im a bit hesitant to continue using this. can't say that i will, as i wasn't a huge fan of the scent to begin with. may this be a reminder that we should think twice before idolizing strangers on the internet, lol
- em inglês
Got a sample a few weeks ago and it's a fun wear once or twice but definitely not one I'll purchase. A crazy petrol/gasoline beginning, then it eventually fades into a vanilla I was initially wowed by, but after trying YSL Babycat recently, I've realised Coney Island Baby is just a lesser version of that but with an added intense petrol beginning that I would rather do without. There there are better ways to spend your money and better creators to support if shitty right wing politics aren't your thing. It's not cheap, so I would suggest layering some of the suggestions made by others if you're looking for that industrial vanilla, although actually you might be in luck on the second hand market soon and be able to grab a bargain...
- em inglês
On paper, it’s a sweet vanilla wafflecone with just a touch of new tire/gasoline. When I walked back into the room after spraying it, it shocked me how good it still smelled. But on my skin, it flips and the gas becomes more prominent and vanilla is hiding in the background. ☹️ Such a unique concept but just didn’t work for me.
- em inglês
I’m not a huge fan of especially sweet gourmands, but description “industrial gourmand” fits perfectly. Sweet waffle and vanilla tricks you into thinking of safety. The styrax pulls sharp making you think of asphalt and chemicals. Very fun to smell, but probably not for me to wear as I don’t like sweet scents typically.
- em inglês
Bitter, rubber-y and comforting. I really see the artistic vision in this scent. However, it is not something I would personally want to wear more than once.
- em inglês
If I wanted to smell like used motor oil, I could just take my car to the shop. I don't hate this scent, it's just weird and unwearable.
- em inglês
This smells like someone attempted to recreate Blvgari Black without knowing exactly what to do. Throw in some vanilla, throw in some gas now etc etc.
- em inglês
Damn, all the stuff surfacing about Scout is a bummer. I read some racist tweets from her that def destroyed my fan feelings. Her online bread crumb trail isn’t looking good. I guess I didn’t love the way she talked down to people anyway :/ I had previously liked Coney Island Baby... However I strongly believe that, in this capitalist society, the way consumers choose to spend our money is the most basic leverage we have. So important to research the things we buy whenever possible. If you like the Coney Island Baby scent profile, but would rather support a true baddie, go check out Chris Rusak, Caji! Rusak makes his own fragrances & even forages some of the materials himself! I appreciate the approach he takes in his craft & his radical politics. Caji is in that ‘sweet gasoline’ arena. - dreamy mechanics shop with a dose of Orris butter!! If u are like me & can’t get enough of those smoggy motor oil gasoline perfumes you will want to try this! I found this hour long interview of Rusak on YouTube that made me want to buy all of his work: https://youtu.be/EGkUpFtkriE?si=8hJ3DjUjdtU6WyIe If you like Incarnate go check out Cuir Fetiche by Lvnea, another radical perfumer (again who makes her own fragrances) from Montreal. Lvnea has posted about human rights online this whole year, even when it’s been very unpopular. Honestly this person is the MVP in my collection - everything she makes is a star. Cuir Fetiche is a leather incense with a juicy backbone that is out of this world gorgeous & very affordable. All the people wanna smell me when I wear this. If you like El Dorado check out Undergrowth by Rook - (also makes his own fragrances) Rook has been very outspoken online about their values & has supported ‘watermelons’ with his full chest - he is a real one - & Undergrowth is impossibility beautiful! I personally did not like El Dorado (smells like ax body spray to me). Undergrowth doesn’t smell at like El Dorado but it is in the same category of clean, light, forest petrichor. It smells like a morning rain in a mint garden in the mountains - it’s the most precious little petrichor I’ve ever smelled. Anyway, there’s tons of cool perfume makers out there with much more interesting work & who also don’t say absolutely horrid things online :/
