Fernway

For reference: I’m a woman in her late 40’s. I got this to try, as it was on sale from a beauty subscription service. Opens with a potent woody/earthy smell. Dries down to a very light floral/citrus scent with a strong woody undertone. The amber and tonka bean are weak, to barely noticeable. This one is strong for the first 10 minutes, then fades completely within an hour. Masculine-leaning, and not a gourmand or floral scent. It reminds me of the smell of fresh earth and plants after a heavy rain. This could be a nice perfume, it has all the right ingredients, but they seem badly blended. The earthy/woody notes are too prominent throughout, and they overpower everything else. I understand it’s called Fernway, which suggests something earthy, but this would be much prettier if the floral and vanilla were a bit more prominent, and the woody/earthy smells toned down. If you like the smell of earth and woods, this might be your thing. If you like sweet, fruity, or floral, this isn’t it.

Opens with a huge whomp of cardamom which disappears in 5 minutes leaving only a tiny trace of powder and nothing else. I’ve tried four scents from this brand and every one of them almost entirely disappear within minutes of application. I don’t mean they become soft skin scents shortly after spraying, I mean they evaporate completely almost immediately. Absolutely the worst performance of any brand I’ve ever encountered - they shouldn’t be selling products they know are nothing but a mirage.
