Rose Taif

The woody note is really coming through for me. This is exactly that thin piece of fragrant birch scent I have been looking for. It smells like home. It reminds me of my mother, though she didn't wear a scent. The rose is very natural. I'm not really getting the leather scent. But the smoke lingers in the background in a really pleasant way. This scent is cozy and bright and comforting. I feel it's a good all season scent. It has warmth but it is bright and fresh at the same time. I really like it.

As someone who is a fan of rose scents, this begins as a very harsh smell. The coriander and a sharp wood I'm assuming is birch come through immediately on the top notes, followed by a rose I would describe as almost bitter. It compliments the wood well and neither element feels out of place with each other, but the picture they paint together is more imposing and tannic than sweet or floral. Very aromatic and woody, but a bit too sharp for my taste as someone who prefers her roses sugared and jammy. The projection and longevity are unfortunately rather middling - my skin eats this instantly. I get about an hour or two of wear before it's gone, not even base notes left behind. Because of how bitter it leans I'm not sure where its ideal use case would be - it's office-safe if your coworkers are cool with catching whiffs of anything more interesting than Glossier You. A final note: on my roommmate's skin it turned into Citronella bug spray, despite not listing any citrus. I've heard this can happen sometimes with rose or geranium scents. Sample first.
