La Tsarine

For those who seek an explicit, down right feral and dirty perfume - this is possibly my holy grail of fragrances that fall under the 'body odor / sex' smell category. Compared to some of the more well known perfumes in this group, I think this offering from Senyoko is a bit of a hidden gem. I rarely see it included on such lists and conversations online when discussing perfumes that conjure up those sexual scents. This is an animalic floral lovers wet dream! To be honest, this smells like your lovers intimate areas...that sweet enticing musk and honeyed aroma which emanates from one another's warm bodies after sex. This scent quite literally turns me on. How does this magic work? For a perfume to have such a powerful control over my body and mind, in which it drives lust within myself, is nothing short of remarkable. Obviously, I had to own a bottle. I enjoy this at night, as well as during the day when I am alone. Sometimes, I like to layer it with other florals, especially white florals, where it really dirties them up in the most spectacular way. When I want to feel particularly like I'm positively radiating sexuality then I layer it with 'Lust' from lush. This combination is almost psychedelic! I fully agree with the review below... this scent does make my pupils dilate. A total love ❤️

Good LORD this is naughty. Many a fragrance has been described as smelling like sex, perhaps more metaphorically than literally, but this tops them all; it is absolute unapologetic filth. I sort of love it?? I’m getting crisp latex trousers, black leather straps, all recently disinfected after heavy use. But a hint of what they’ve been through remains, that sweet, sour tinge of sweat and intimate bodily fluids, it sounds disgusting but absolutely compels the animal within. The animalics and cumin are very much forefront, and yet, blended to perfection. They are smooth and balanced, not sharp or cloying. When I first sprayed this I thought, this is unwearable. As it’s settled, I now want a bottle. This is very much in the same vein as Alexander McQueen’s Kingdom, and Theo Fennell’s Scent, as the sweaty aspect is very similar. If you like a slutty perfume, this is for you.

This is the most complex and unique perfume that has joined my small museum-sized collection and I can't stop trying to unlock all its mysteries. You think you know your skin chemistry and the notes that pair well or create visions to other times and places then you encounter those rare blends like Senyokô's La Tsarine and you quickly realize there are still fragrances out there that strike the senses with a cascading gamut of colours, rich tableaus and somehow tap into your secret self that you fear to unleash. La Tsarine is that liberation, this is raw hedonism with honeyed leather, spicy resin-laced fruit and woods along a tussey of vintage florals tucked just so in the folds of rumpled sheets and sweat dampened silks. La Tsarine isn't your everyday type of perfume, she calls for the night and a special taste.

Super interesting fragrance. This is simultaneously soapy/clean (which I usually hate) and dead dirty (which I usually love); a mix of florals and an amplified unwashed skin smell. They really hit the nail right on the head with this one, it truly is giving 18th century royal sex addict in a bottle. I sprayed it on before bed and 8 hours later it is still going. At first it is perfectly balanced between the clean and dirty elements, and towards the end the dirtier notes become more prominent. Saying the projection isn’t strong would be an understatement, but I think that this is a feature and not a bug—it makes perfect sense with the perfume’s concept that this is more of an intimate skin scent, and it wouldn’t be as nice if it was more “in your face”.

I bought this on a whim and it quickly became my favourite fragrance in my collection. It's a really sexy, stanky vintage style floral. It gets the mix of pretty florals, indoles, woodsy notes, and beastly animalics just right in my opinion. Smells like dirty knickers in the best possible way. I always feel really sexy when I wear this. Highly recommended if you like animalic florals. I'm a big fan of Euan McCall as a nose, and the other Senyoko perfumes are also great, if a bit on the pricey side. I'm looking forward to sampling the Jorum fragrances also.

Skanky, raunchy, and addictive. I first smelled this fragrance at Scent Room in Los Angeles and I gasped at the scent. I left with a sample and came back a week later to purchase the full bottle. On my skin it’s very musky and animalic with indolic floral nuances. My mom tells me that I smell like I’m wearing a whore around my neck when I wear this lol. It’s definitely not for everyone but if you enjoy skanky animalic fragrances that’ll last the entire day you should definitely give La Tsarine a try!

La Tsarine is a very unusual fruity, flowery, animalic and musky scent. Something very sexual and erotic at the same time. It is my favorite scent from this collection. Great job!👃🏽😊👍🏽

Interesting. A flower buried in the scent of a man's skin. The sweaty man's skin smells. It scent sexy. I also feel it in animatic leather. Become a habit. The package is the best.

The smell of just having had SEX, period. Warm weather and sweat makes it even more dirty and loud. Also, you will tear your partner apart. ;)

La Tsarine or The Tsarina is a truly unexpected feat from the brand of Senyokô. After immersing myself in the others, I found it to be one of the clear stand outs for me in the line. I really enjoy this composition. La Tsarine is an ode to Russian Empress Catherine the Great or Catherine II who overthrew her husband Peter III's short reign after he died in a captivity in which she was the orchestrator. Empress Catherine II ruled from 1762 to 1796 and was a cultural herald for the Russian renaissance and its artistic revolution. She was a domineering political force and an unrelenting patron of the arts spearheading the Russian Enlightenment and securing honor for Russia as one of the great powers of Europe. Not only was she a ruthless leader who used her network of political allies to do her bidding and advance Russia into a cultural reform, she was also a very liberal lover. Using these relationships to advance her interests, her life was full of trysts, relationships with military leaders and royals manifesting a very legendary paper trail of promiscuity, infidelity and drama. La Tsarine is a very bombastic, erotic, provocative, sweaty and nude musk. I am very challenged by it because it is quite direct and dominating. It is not abstract, suggestive or conceptual by any means, it is very much orchestrated to be the bare smell of a woman. It has quite a confident energy that comes across somewhat, rustic, tom-boyish and lustful. Is this perfume a feminist? I believe so! La Tsarine is a very ethereal and wispy animalic musk carried by mostly carnal ingredients in the base like costus, cumin, honey, dried fruits, blackcurrant, saffron, narcissus, jasmine, tuberose and guaiac wood. I can successfully experience most if not all of the materials in La Tsarine and it is a blissful olfactory collage of everything pissy, indolic, spicy and human. I find it to be a very photorealistic recreation of the sweaty personal areas. Mostly the sweat of someone who consumes a meat dominant omnivorous diet of seasoned red meats and an abundance of carbs, with a more spotty consumption of seasoned vegetables. A very spicy, animalic, smokey and barely sweet honey accord combined with cumin prevails in the intro. It is rather bracing, sweaty, spicy and humid almost resembling immortelle but has a more dank feel to it like the smell of hair. As La Tsarine settles the florals, tart, bitter blackcurrant and tangy, bittersweet dried fruits, sour civet, greasy castoreum, musk and saffron become more apparent. The profile adopts a daring energy becoming more fact than fiction going very pissy, more sweaty, indolic, powdery, leathery and photorealistic, resembling the smell of the paperwhites narcissus a powdery smelling flower with a pungent, sweet, ammonia smell or more aptly, used undergarments. This profile doesn't feel retro in the sense that some kind of conservatism is upheld by disguising the all-out smell of body odor. La Tsarine drops the veil and is crystal clear, leaning fully into the representation which is quite bold of the brand, since this level of photorealistic, human musk can be misconstrued as a gimmick by some. For me experiencing La Tsarine is an edgy endeavor akin to experimenting with fetishes and testing your body's proverbial limits. Psychological tourism, wherein you seek to know or stretch the extents of your comfort zone. The olfactory equivalent of saying "my body is ready"... On me the base can come across slightly cheesy in some cold temperatures so I would proceed on usage with caution. La Tsarine is unisex leaning feminine with excellent sillage and longevity. Like all of the Senyokô perfumes an excellent, excellent concept once more. However for the fragrance I find it lacking subtlety, it doesn't leave much to the imagination. It reveals too much and I am bored by it on the third date. I do think it is one of the more competently handled blends of the line as it is not sickly to the senses, loud or too monotone and dull. Catherine The Great was also a political leader who was obsessively invested in the arts and I fail to notice a slight sophisticated side to La Tsarine that demonstrates that. It is mainly lustful and rustic but lacks a cleverness or opulence that keeps me coming back. Although with some wearings I did see the potential. I was tempted by it, but now I am unsure when I'd have the urge to pull it off, and for me it does not compete with some of the other flirtatious chypres and musks that I hold in high regard. But very good, very memorable and very effective nonetheless. I highly suggest sampling La Tsarine! 8.5/10

“The tsar is dead, long live the tsarina!” I can't say I knew Catherine the Great. I can, however, attest to the indecency of this perfume. From the scent itself to the decorative box it comes in. I will further add that this is the most unashamedly, sexual, and "bodily" smelling olfactory composition I have tried to date. It seems like the whole idea was to create such a perfume but expertly cover its naked body with well-placed auxiliary notes so people won't point straight up shouting: "Look! She's all naked." They threw several transparent gowns over her to make it less overt. Now, you know I love these kinds of compositions, so naturally, I love La Tsarine. Although it is a perfume that makes me mind my surroundings, it is expertly crafted by Mc Call to not come across as indecent, or "funk for funk's sake." It is a sophisticated, elegant type of funk. To me, it smells like not showering for a few days, during which you do intense physical activity (inside and outside the bedroom) and sweat a lot. It exudes this sweaty, steaming, and dirty aura that is omnipresent, on top of which there are plenty of other facets. It is a rather complex olfactory work. Spices and aromatic herbs in the opening, the pairing of which almost creates a boozy accord that makes me think of vodka. Cumin is the star of the introduction, along with sage and perhaps wormwood. There is a major woody component to this perfume. Pine, which renders a sharp and cooling effect, guaiac wood gives off smokiness, and papyrus creates a dry feeling/texture. In the heart, they surface further next to the floral bouquet, from which I can separate the narcissus and the tuberose. The way these two work here is by amplifying the bodily feel, tuberose through its milky-creamy facets and narcissus through its leathery nuances. The base is oversaturated in musks and warm, slightly smoky resins. My favorite part about this perfume is, however, the use of honey and the dried fruit accord. It sets this apart from other compositions in the same vein by balancing the sweaty-salty-musky component nicely through a well-dosed amount of sweetness that not only creates a beautiful contrast but also adds to the addictiveness of the perfume. That is how the dry-down smells for hours on end. An intoxicating concoction of salty and creamy musks, pressed against the honey-like sweetness, with faint shimmers of smoke and a resinous golden glow. As much as I believe I hit a wall with animalic perfumes, I had to have this one. It does that theme incredibly well while adding its unique touches. Trips along to the same tune as Belle Bete (powdered sugar "animal") and yes, I get the Bois Mysterieux / Songe un Bois reference thanks to the metallic floral fresh-ish top notes (saffron?) and sparkling mellow spiciness (cumin?). At the beginning there's a lazily strewn-out cat lying across the base -- the civet. But it gets up and leaves soon. After a little while, I mostly get the same nutty-shroomy dusty-mustiness that makes up the core profile of Belle Bete / Peau de Bete, Songe un Bois, and I suppose distantly the honeyed haziness from Leather Oud / Aigle de la Victoire / Nashwah. I do also understand the Black Orchid nods, because of that mealy hazelnutty quality of the sillage (truffle?). But most similar to my nose would be the Guerlain.. So I get a puffy cloud of powdered sugar motes and cuminy saffron shifting about lazily on a whiff of old carpet and apiary-breeze. Complex, well blended, a touch pretty. Unfilthy, not scary, and not exactly jiving with the brief (conqueress, sex). It does not exactly fit my character but if I wanted to project a mysterious but sweet, pink "something," I might go for this.

The person who got me onto this one led with "this smells like an orgy!" That basically sums it up. It's one of the most animalic, fecal fragrances i've ever smelt, but at the same time there is a real sumptuousness that for me comes from the cassis and dewy grape notes--definitely not true to life, think more dutch still life. The orgy in question is of the Eyes Wide Shut variety--we're at maybe hour 5 into the proceedings, inside some insidious palace, in which there is a long table of the finest fresh and dried fruit to sustain all the participants. After about 20 minutes the stench of civet crossfades into a creamy sandalwood and a fuzzy green oakmoss. The stank remains, but company arrives, and the fruit platter is exhausted by the end of the evening. I can't imagine what the public occasion for this would be--please someone share your adventures with this one--but thus far I enjoy it when i'm alone for the night.

Animalic cumin sweet bomb.... Honeydew animalic cumin bomb. I detect allot of animalic cumin, civet, and a touch of castoreum, but the honey, dried fruits, & black currants are trying to lighten the animalic bomb somehow! I believe it has some oud here and quite great amount of narcissus, orange blossoms, and balsam fir. I believe this blend has a DNA of "Aziyad" by Parfum d'Empire, I'm not saying it's the same but "Aziyad" came to my mind when i sniffed this blend and i believe it's because of the same concept of an animalic sweat smell is covered underneath a fruity fragrance. "Tsarin" is beautiful indeed.

Stanky, floral and a HUGE dose of funk. Yes PLEASE. I really like this one, and I've been tossing up between this and possibly Poudrextase by Marlou for a while now, and I think La Tsarine only JUST misses out. They're both different spicy skank scents, but I can only really take one into my already overcrowded scent wardrobe. Still amazing, though...
