Eau Rafraîchissante (Mandarine + Matcha)

I love this more than Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom. Very clean, crisp citrus scent without the bodywash smell/vibe to it! Bought heaps from Europe so sad when I learnt that it’s discontinued. My fiance loves the smell on him so I gave the last bottle to him. It’s also a really good scent on men. A true unisex perfume in a bottle!

Back when these were first released in my country, a friend bought them all, and was disappointed by all but one, and so, wishing to gift them to her friends, called me over to try the one she intended for me — and I got to test them all out! An apt adjective: “refreshing”. Not so apt: the matcha and basil notes. I feel matcha would’ve been swallowed in this mix either way, but basil would have been a fantastic addition — if only there were any. What this is, is a tangerine blast. To be more specific, it smells exactly like when you peel a sour, juicy tangerine. To be fair, I don’t recall any other notes. At the time this sort of fragrance was definitely not my thing, but since then I have become more prone to headaches whenever I smell anything remotely “heavy” (by which I mostly mean any dimensional perfume) on a decently sunny day, regardless of season or even heat. I imagine this would have been a good option for such days, but it’s too late, as these have not been sold in my country for a while now. I’m still not sure I would go for this often, but this might be someone’s ideal fragrance! Having two other fragrances from this line, I can attest they’re surprisingly long lasting, and depending on your skin’s chemistry with the particular notes, can even have a decent sillage. It’s more likely for the scent to be lost on you towards the end of the day, but it can be detected by others. As far as I recall, they come in 3 sizes: 15 ml, 30 ml, 50 ml. I haven’t tried the 15 ml bottles, but they’re all pretty compact, with thick glass (so even if you wish to re-spray you can bring it with you) and a nice nozzle that has a finer mist.

Well, it's a cheapie, and not even that cheap considering the performance - but it's pretty good! Fresh and citrusy, completely unisex, somewhat muted by the otherwise imperceptible greenery. Don't really smell the tea.
