Bourreau Des Fleurs

Absolutely stunning! I have been wearing this wonderful 'parfum' for a year, i love it. So at first you think this is quite sweet immortelle, licorice, resins and ... something smoky, I have my money on incense ... but...hang on a minute is this a deeper and more pure version of Le Participe Passé? The Liquorice comes through strong on my skin for the first couple of hours and i didn't notice this until the 3rd day of wearing it. The immortelle is beautiful and doesn't come out as culinary because it is earthed by the resins. There is something else... I don't know what but it confuses people into thinking it is a floral perfume... When first sprayed on, the dried fruit comes through quite strong but calms down fairly quickly. The sweetness also dries down and disappears. You are left with resins and immortelle which is heaven! This perfume (yes it says on the bottle that it is 'Parfum' Not EDP) is often described as a semi gourmand but I don't feel it, there is such little sweetness in it that it actually opens you up to another world of scents and makes you notice how everything in our world is overly sweet, it is a welcome respite... It transports me to another place and time. It is earthy and grounding and full and so resinous it is a masterpiece and as another reviewer was saying worth every cent

My first perfume from SECTION D'OR Line , that i've added to my collection and definitely NOT the last ! I think to believe , that this line is aimed to attract people , that are looking for something else , different , artistic and unique ! Creativity to the maximum , and as already metioned from the brand "taking an idea to its very limits".... I get a lot of Immortelle with this one , a hint of something sweet and syrupy , but at the same time ,also something bitter and resiness ! Indeed , there are some smoky facets ,that i get too , although , on my skin they feel quite light and transparent ! It ain't something dark and mysterious (of how i personally get with Serge Noire ) , but more of that love and hate relationship between Serge and his mother , that feels very nostalgic and sentimental , pleasent in kind of way , but painful in another !

Silver 7777 i couldn't agree more.. I would like to add my feelings about this perfume. This perfume makes me emotional. When you apply first you smell an anger comes from disappointment. It's not over powering, after half an hour later you realize how soft and creamy this scent can get. Real beauty starts after this, it's almost like an end to a mother's anger. You can feel her love, her affection towards you. And when it starts to become a skinscent, it does that so well, you want to start all over again. Like a baby can't get enough of her/his mother's scent. Or a child constantly misses her/his mother.. This is my favorite from Serge Lutens not because of sillage or longevity. This is an experience. The only scent brought tears to my eyes. Immortal scent from Serge Lutens.

The Executioner of Flowers is a lovely tribute to the Serge Lutens lines favorite flower the immortelle which actually smells more herbal green. The perfume is the best representation of this brands minimalist Oriental aesthetics and evocation of a land and time gone by. The perfume begins with notes of licorice and dried fruits and heads to the heart of immortelle flower. The perfume dries off to a unique base of smoked sandalwood and musk. The unisex scent has moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. Very nostalgic and one of the best examples of this lines distinct evocative style. Enjoy!

I am not a master of words. I can't write a three page essay about perfumes. But if I could, I would have written a novel about this one. A criminally lesser known masterpiece. It is beautiful from the very beginning - licorice and immortelle. But the true gorgeousness comes in about an hour on me - mind blowing scent of honeyed prunes and charred noble wood (cedar?). For the past two hours I have not been able to keep my wrist away from my face. In fact, it took me 20 minutes just to type this out because I keep sniffing myself, and each time it takes my breath away. I am just in sheer awe.
