Fleurs d'Oranger

So we all know how difficult it is to create a realistic floral. Extraction is not enough to 100% resemble the real flower in a perfume. And as an orange blossom perfume, this is far from how real orange blossom smells like on the branches of orange trees. Now, this is obviously not a soliflore. So its not really a negative. Its just for those people who are looking for something realistic. This sadly wont be it. A perfume that comes extremely close to the real flower is eau des sens diptyque. FDO however, is a wonderful piece of art. This is a bittersweet, heady, powerful white floral. This is sensual and attractive. Surprisingly citrusy as well. Smells Summery but it could work well in winter too since its so heady and powerful. The natural soapiness of the orange blossom appears here and there, but its mostly suppressed by the rubbery spicy tuberose and animalic realistic jasmine. Neither of those two overpower the orange blossom, but clearly support what the orange blossom naturally has. Many users have mentioned the cumin, and since i blind bought this, it did worry me a little bit. And yes, the cumin is noticeable in the first 20 minutes. But its so BEAUTIFUL! I was afraid it would smell like food. I love cumin in food but it does smell like body odor once ur clothes absorb the scent. This doesnt smell like body odor at all. On paper, the cumin isnt noticeable at all. Its way sweeter & honey like and soapier on paper too. So definitely try it on ur skin first. I mixed some orange blossom water with cumin to see if i should cancel my order But even that combination smelled good. Idk what it is. I wouldnt say it makes the fragrance heavier or stinkier. It blends well with the effervescence and freshness of the orange blossom. It makes it less soapy and laundry like and more perfumey. This dries down into a musky scent but it projects for quite some time. The citruses arent fruity or juicy, its probably just the peel. I dont pick up on the rose and i dont know what hibiscus smells like irl so i cant say much on that. Long lasting, unique for its genre, signature scent worthy but definitely needs some testing. Im lucky for enjoying this but some people may be more sensitive to cumin than me. Definitely enjoying serge lutens perfumes

It’s nearing citrus season here in Northern California, and as our weather stays quite pleasant in the winter months this is when I get to revel in my citrus and citrus floral perfumes. They just fit the moment so well. Ushering in the change of focal genres for this season I’ve chosen Fleurs d’Oranger. If there’s a flower I love just as much as jasmine it is orange blossom. The opening of the perfume is quite striking, piling straight into your nose a very aldehydic floral amalgam of orange blossom, jasmine, and tuberose. In addition to the massive aldehydes, the white florals, citruses, indoles, and greens abound. It’s quite brief, and the perfume shifts into a very peculiar lower gear of oily, rindy, citrus zest, rich yet quiet tuberose, and the sort of grinding-of-the-clutch in this gear shift: cumin. It’s striking, and a bit grating, but it’s leveled-out so well in volume and timbre that it provides a beautiful contrast rather than sitting like an elephant in the room. It’s roundly and smoothly spicy, woody, sufficiently salty and sweaty, a bit sour a bit bitter and a bit oily at the same time. This spicy and woody and funky floral heart is distinctly Arabian, and reminds me of a couple Amouage perfumes I know and love. The perfume holds this gear for the remainder of it’s long life, settling a bit more into the tuberose-like notes and woods at the final skin scent, but little trails of the white florals and spiciness make quiet appearances here and there. Orange blossom is nearly always given to us with a bright, shining, citrusy, white floral energy that glows orange like the fruit, and feels joyous, aloof and carefree. Lutens and Sheldrake present us with its lesser known deeper, funky, and rakish side that never once feels too much (cumin is one of those notes that’s very easy to overdo). Fleurs d’Oranger is masterful, one of the best from the brand. Lutens has paid tribute to jasmine numerous times with masterpieces like Sarrasins, A La Nuit, and Fils de Joie. Years ago, I made a trip to a local garden center with the intention of picking out a few hot peppers for my garden. Upon entering the nursery, however, I was arrested by an aroma so intoxicating that I bailed on my mission and followed my nose until I found the source -- a row of lemon and orange trees in little pots, all in full bloom. (Guess who forgot all about planting peppers and came home with an expensive, temperamental, high-maintenance citrus tree that day? :) ) This perfume duplicates that scent to an astounding degree. For a few moments, I do get hints of rose, but they dissipate quickly and allow the orange blossom to shine in all of its heady, smooth, syrupy-sweet glory. I swear I can smell the heavy yellow pollen dripping from the flowers. It's absolutely glorious. Unlike some other Lutens scents, the cumin doesn't make a noticeable appearance on my skin -- if anything, it works behind the scenes to amplify the indolic aspects of the blossoms. Much like the life cycle of many flowering trees, this perfume does not last long on my skin; it projects like a beast for the first half hour, then gradually calms down to a skin scent after 2-3 hours. It does, however, last for days if accidentally sprayed on clothing. Seriously. Three days after I wore this, I could still smell it on the clothes I wore that day as I put them into the washing machine -- without putting my nose to the fabric. For all I know, it may have lingered longer, had I not decided to do laundry. Therefore, I'm going to conclude that it's my skin chemistry that is burning through this at an accelerated rate (meaning it's not the perfume's fault and you may get far better performance on skin than I did), and I'm going to make my peace with that and accept the fact that I'm just going to have to reapply this throughout the day and/or "accidentally" spritz my shirt with it... because I adore this so much that any rules I may have made for myself about a perfume having a certain amount of longevity just went out the window in this case. I can't be without it.

My first wear of this fragrance had me thinking that this smells like all the flowers in the garden were fighting each other. Hectic, chaotic, somehow playful. Fighting under an orange tree in full bloom. I did not get any of the indolic notes. Nor any of the thick almost dark experience one expects from the SL noir line. My second wearing is a bit more broody. The flowers are not fighting each other directly. They are fighting and trying to subvert eachother for the attraction and love of the swarm of bees that lives in the orange tree near by. This is a miraculous garden where all the sweet smelling flowers are somehow blooming simultaneously. One moment you will smell jasmine indolic and thick. The next, a tuberose or jammy rose gently moves in the breeze and their scent will dominate for a moment. The sun is casting deep mid afternoon shadows on the landscape. Though you cannot see the bees doing their work the sound of their droning can be heard from the depths of the bunches of flowers. Do you dare to get closer and take a whiff directly? The non abstract tldr. Perfect spring and summer wear as long as it is not above 85 degrees. Very floral; as a man i would not recommend this to my dude bros. It is also not totally feminine either. 70/30 on the gender scale. feminine leaning. If you are a guy who likes flowers and is not afraid to show the world your love, please join the club. Projection is strong. Sillage is strong (6 foot room at least). I can smell it 4-6 hours but others say they can smell it on me longer, 6-8 hours. The cumin note is present at the 3 hour mark. It doesn't really smell of bo or of gourmand nature. More herbal and cooling. As some have referenced. Maybe i am just not very sensitive to it.

I am so so so sad. SO SAD. This used to be my signature scent. I haven’t been paying attention and didn’t realize reformulation was happening. So I only have 25% of the original packaging left. I tried to order from a discount perfumer that had the photo of the old packaging as a backup. What arrived was the new packaging. I said what the heck and opened it up and sprayed. Wow. Just so disappointed. It. Does. Not. Resemble. The. Original. Fragrance. AT ALL. I’m going to have to find another signature and thinking of giving Houbigant Oranger Fleur the successor place for signature. I removed SL FdO as my sig on my profile. There’s no orange blossom. There’s not even cumin. There’s a strange medicinal gasoline like tuberose that opens it which actually smells a lot like hyacinth. I would perhaps be satisfied in calling a hyacinth perfume and enjoying it for that except it is gone in minutes, I’ve experienced more tenacity in BBW body sprays! It’s unbelievable and so disappointing. It fades away right away and there’s nothing left. If I bury my nose in my wrist it smells like I used soap and water to wash off whatever scent was there and the soap smells weird. My God. This is just ruined. Foul like my mood right now discovering this happened and I did not prepare. Devastating. I’m so upset at the money I just wasted and that my favorite perfume is gone. Don’t bother with this. I also refuse to buy any more from Lutens. This is called bait and switch with niche pricing. Not my hard earned money!

Serge Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger is nothing short of mesmerizing. Yes, the orange blossom, jasmine, and tuberose are front and center, but what truly elevates this fragrance is the generous splash of Earl Grey tea—that bergamot bitterness cutting through the florals with unexpected elegance. One of my colleagues swears she catches incense; I don't get it myself, but I love how this scent reveals different facets to different noses. The real star, however, is the cumin. It weaves through the composition with a sultry, almost skin-like warmth that some might interpret as sweat—but honestly, that only happens if you let your imagination go there. To me, it's the secret weapon: it amps up the white florals' natural spiciness, giving the whole thing a hypnotic, dusky edge that keeps you coming back for more. I'm a tuberose devotee, but orange blossom might just be my new favorite. It's less overtly fatal than tuberose, but there's a hidden carnality to it—something quietly carnal that sneaks up on you, and on everyone who falls under its spell. Le Retour: Something I have never experienced in perfumery is the so-called "fractal structure"—or as Lutens calls it, le retour. While other perfumes slowly fade into a musky or vanilla base, this creation gives you an encore. Toward the end of this perfume's life, jasmine is reborn. That's why Lutens hooks you—he builds cathedrals, not bouquets.

This is really just a white floral scent with a tiny bit of spice - I don't get any citrus really so I think we are supposed to pay attention to the "Fleurs" and not "'d'Oranger". The point is, if you're looking for an orange/citrus scent, this isn't it. If you're looking for a lovely, close-to-skin white floral with a tiny bit of depth, it's an excellent choice. Reminds me of Gucci Bloom, but with a bit more complexity. This is a compliment because I like simple, clean-smelling white florals as they tend to stay incredibly true-to-scent, do not make my nose itch (am sensitive) and last a long time on my skin. I like Fleurs d'Oranger a lot, too, especially on days I feel uncomplicated and perhaps a bit more youthful (I'm early 30s). This smells like rolling in a bed of flowers then drinking a nice warm ginger or cardamom tea. Very feminine. Sweet, simple, not at risk to being offensive to anyone. It feels like a spring wedding scent for an outdoor bride. I wear this in the summer or spring, on sunny days or in the winter when I want to remember what spring feels like because seasonal affective has kicked in. I personally can't smell the cumin here, but a bit of the woodsy-ness adds a little depth. For me it's a 9/10 because I love a white floral and spicy/woodsy notes. I don't purchase many bottles, but I do own this (and other Serge Lutens, which tend to perform well for me).

A beautiful and deceptively complex white floral. On me it's formeost a jasmine-adjacent orange blossom fragrance. But what I get is vaguely indolic jasmine and nothing that I would describe as truly animalic or much less as evocative of BO. At first I personally couldn't make out any of the cumin, but now I think the way it comes across here is dry and kind of powdery almost? It has a woody, paper-like smell. It's like opening a drawer where cumin seeds have been kept, not smelling the spice directly. The opening and mid-development has a very honeyed feel. It's sweet but not in a sugary way, which is probably the tuberose. But I would say the composition also has an aspect I'd describe as salty. With that said, I have a suspicion that the reason for some of the negative experiences with this is that if oversprayed it can turn quite unpleasant, as it's actually quite intense. And although it may not come across as a heavy fragrance based on notes or initial impression, I really think it doesn't work in hotter temperatures. In my experience, compositions that have a good dose of tuberose don't do well with heat and being oversprayed, becoming acrid and sharp in a way that create certain associations. To me this is definitely a white floral for the fall and winter season. A wonderful composition.

This fragrance is so beautiful, calming, sensual and slightly indolic to my nose. It has all of the facets of the slightly citrusy and white floral orange blossoms and this fragrance smells quite natural to my nose. I don't just get orange blossom as a note in this though. I also get some slightly lemony white rose, a good dose of sweet tuberose and a generous helping of indolic and queenly jasmine. I smell the musk last of all (but not least of all) in the base. There's a slight spiciness from the cumin too, but I honestly don't smell much cumin in this and I don't smell the wood or the hibiscus in this at all. Then again, everytime I have smelt hibiscus flowers they don't seem to have a smell? Fleur D'oranger by Serge Lutens is a very feminine fragrance to me and something that I could imagine would be perfect for a bride on her wedding day, especially since orange blossoms are traditional flowers to have in brides bouquets. In my opinion this would be perfect for a princess or a really classy lady, too! I think that you could wear it either day or night and in either spring or summer. I got medium sillage from this perfume and also a moderate longevity of 5 hours on my skin. I like this perfume very much and I'd give it an 8/10. I'm glad I bought this perfume!

I daubed this scent on my wrists after narrowly avoiding a bear encounter, finding a tracker on my car, and surviving a home invasion attempt in the same week (this week). After retreating to my boudoir with a carving knife in one hand and "Elvis Live from Honolulu via Satellite" on vinyl in the other (waiting for the police to arrive), I thought to regulate myself the only way I know how: revisiting my 1 mL Serge Lutens samples. And oh baby. This is so deliciously repellent--so jammy, so photorealistically funereal, so insistent upon itself--I cast aside my knife. All the psychic, even physical protection I needed was in the form of the devious aural cloud radiating from my anointed wrists and clavicle. There was an instant identity dysplasia that transformed me into a spectrum of female images, including but not limited to: Myrtha, Queen of the Wilis from the ballet "Giselle," the mother scene from David Cronenberg's "The Brood," myself as a corpse at an unspecified date in the future, and my French great-grandmother Jeanne from whom I inherited my appearance down to the finest feature. Fleurs d'Oranger is a gentle medicine that kills its host. Would recommend this for women who must part the seas of violence in their lives.

Wow, this fragrance is unbelievable gorgeous! It’s niche but it’s mass appealing niche. This is not just orange blossom, it’s so much more complex. To me smells like nothing else I have smelled. It smells perfumy but also very natural and ethereal but it is a fragrance that has presence and oomph. I remember testing it a couple of times during some trips in Paris before pandemic and I loved it but it was quite expensive. I have found it now on an impossible to refuse deal and I have decided it’s time to get it. I am blown away, it smells incredible, I am absolutely in love with Fleurs d’Oranger. I don’t remember being so amazing. It is orange blossom mixed with tuberose, neroli and jasmine, a potent hibiscus note and some citruses and woods. Smells like honeyed white flowers. Nothing groundbreaking so far but the result of the blend it definitely is!! It feels spicy as well, probably from cumin, but it is so well blended that I don’t think I want to wear anything else but Fleurs d’Oranger. And it’s not even a winter type of fragrance.... I have lots of white florals combinations in my collection but nothing close to this. This is white flowers on another level! It’s magical.

Fleur d’Oranger has to be the finest, most complex white floral release from Serge. The house has other floral forward fragrances in their extensive collection, but in here we have the trifecta of tuberose, sweet orange blossom and jasmine with added brightness from neroli and a slightly exotic feel of hibiscus flower. It’s so well done, smells so luxurious and expensive and performs (I have an older bottle) like a beast! It’s a perfume that celebrates the white florals in all their majestic glory! Cannot say I detect cumin in this juice, and thanks goodness for that, I hate cumin, but there’s definitely something extra that gives a bit of spice to the variety of flowers! Some citrus yes, briefly but no woods either. It’s pure, sweet, big and bold white flowers at highest intensity! During an untypical warm, late, winter day in the North of Europe, Fleur d’Oranger accompanies me through my day and gives me hope that better days/seasons are ahead. Don’t sleep on Serge Lutens, no matter what type of perfumes you like, they have true gems in all categories! This house has better quality scents than most of other designers and niche brands, for a fraction of the price!

I can usually detect cumin in a fragrance from ten feet away, if not from Pluto, and I'm getting none in the current version of Fleurs d'Oranger. Pity - I love the idea of a suggestive hint of cumin in an otherwise guileless floral. Still, Fd'O is utterly gorgeous perfume, heavy on rich natural ingredients but with a sunlit clarity that’s almost tonic in effect. There isn't much development here, nor intellectual intrigue, nor esoteric imagery outside of some slightly overripe PR prose. No, Fleurs d'Oranger is a sensualist’s exercise in simple beauty: A reverential treatment of orange blossom, decadent and luminous, buttressed by silky jasmine and green tuberose on a bed of warm skin-like musk. And not much else. If this sounds like a snooze, I don't think you've smelled good orange blossom. I swear this stuff has antidepressant properties, and if not, it’s still one of the most drop-dead beautiful fragrances I’ve ever come across. A must-buy for white floral lovers (it's a relative bargain on discount sites as of this writing), and a must-try for anyone with a working nose. This is what perfume can be!

This is a beautiful mixed white floral with a sweet, almost milky orange blossom. Fortunately, the cumin here doesn't bother me. No unwashed body or musty, dirty sweat smell that I expected from reading the reviews. No, just a creamy sweet orange blossom supported by a mélange of other white florals. Maybe I'm just lucky that it wears so cleanly on me. I see a lot of reviewers comparing this to Houbigant's Oranger en Fleurs. While I agree they smell similar, that wore much heavier on me even in the winter. I couldn't imagine wearing it in the warmer months. With this fragrance I can. That aromatic quality from the cumin gives it a cooling feel and lightness that is missing in OeF. I also found it much more versatile. OeF feels very formal, whereas this felt right no matter when I wore it. While I do love this, I'm still undecided on whether to purchase a full bottle considering all the orange blossom fragrances I already own. However, this is very different so I might go for a bottle after this travel sprayer is finished.

Another excellent composition by Maestro Shelldrake. Strong presence by the orange blossom in the opening, backed up by high quality natural neroli note. In the mid to dry phase, the neroli marries strongly with the jasmine note, creating this luxury natural smelling bar of soap quality. Despite the white florals being very prominent in the drydown, i still cannot call this feminine - it is quite unisex in the sense the smell of cleanly washed with a bar of white soap skin is universally appealing, and not exclusive to the fair sex. Projection and longevity - i would say above average for the scent profile. As far as white floral fragrances are concerned, this might be the first i would consider wearing with no issue as a middle aged man. PS. If you allow your skin to see some hot summer sunlight while wearing this, you would be pleasantly surprised by the result. It changes the scent profile in the drydown from being a soapy white floral - neroli towards warm, bright orange blossom accords.

Completely rewriting my review. I sampled it before, didn't like it and didn't hate it. I had a small dabber bottle. And yet again I got my proof that dabbing fragrances is not the same as spraying them with an atomizer. At least not all fragrances. This is not that powerful to get a full experience by just dabbing. Or maybe the "new" version of the scent I had in 5 ml bottle is inferior to older version. Today I got the full 50 mL bottle of Fleurs that dates back to 2014. And it's magnificent! It's a blast of sunny, citrusy orange flower, very naturalistic smelling! And of course, this house's signature jasmine. And I absolutely smell the cumin, but it's very tame. And I do smell hibiscus that is very familiar to me because I drink hibiscus tea. Hibiscus is such a gorgeous and underused note! Here it frames the white flowers beautifully. I love it so much! Can't believe it took me so long to acquire a full bottle for my collection because I initially thought it was boring.

I got the Collection Noire discovery set, trying each of the 8 fragrances one/week. Since the scents are in vials I transferred them to standard spray bottles, though the quality of the spray head could be better. I apply my scents after using some unscented body oil on the application spots. 🌼🤍☀️🍁 First impressions: What a pleasant, delightful scent!! A sweet and playful white floral, maybe even a bit tropical and creamy to me. The vibes I'm getting are the sunny days of September, the last weekend you book a short holiday. The sillage is there, it's just enough for me to smell without bringing my nose near where I sprayed, but it's very inoffensive, I'm currently wearing it to work. So far I'm not getting the BO smell from the cumin, nor does the scent feel dirty. Really enjoying it! I wonder how it would perform on a hot summer day, since I'm testing it on slightly damp, sunny October days.

I could sing the praises of Fleurs d'Oranger all day! It's a glorious experience. It's one of the most beautiful orange blossom perfumes (if not THE best) I've experienced. It's masterfully composed and blended with excellent longevity and moderate sillage. This was the first Lutens fragrance I purchased, while in Paris years ago. It was love at first sniff. It's such a unique orange blossom scent, and never fails to elicit queries and compliments from strangers. It's appropriate for all seasons and all occasions, day or night. It's my understanding that Serge Lutens no longer distributes their perfumes in the States. Thankfully, they are still available at discounters, as well as on the secondary market. I would purchase as many backups as you can afford, however. Because once that inventory is gone, it may be very difficult to source in the US. Longevity = 6-8h Sillage = moderate

Fleurs d'Oranger is much more than the title implies: one could expect a fresh, light orange blossom cologne, but this is not. The opening is an iper-realistic bath in powerful citrus flowers in full bloom. Absolutely marvelous, with the right bit of acidity, but deep and sweet at the same time. At first, it's a perfectly unisex fragrance, then it becomes sweeter - a majestic white floral - then a bit more powdery as the roses and musk are kicking in. Definitely more feminine. But wait, it turns more dry and masculine through the end, when there is a distinct woody and spicy note. I would love it on my husband. I would consider a full size if the longevity was significantly better, but it's also true that it will be used in small amounts per application, since it's powerful enough while it lasts. It's definitely on the pricey side. Safe blind buy.

It feels vintage, sunny, floral, glamorous, but still approachable. It’s absolutely not obvious and not what you would expect from an orange flower scent. It surprised and pleased me in unexpected ways. Update: I’ve been wearing it a lot this spring, and it’s absolutely lovely. It’s warm, kind of honeyed, resinous, sunny, flowery. It’s quite feminine. I bought it this year (2026), so it can be that either they toned down the cumin note, or my nose is not sensitive to it. Because people say that this is animalic, smells like sweat or armpits, and I simply can’t feel it. For me it’s a warm, delicate and beautiful scent Update 2: Okay, I got the animalic note, but only when wearing it in temperatures higher than 30C. It made the fragrance so sexy and carnal!! This is hot and sensual! It’s crazy how it changes with the weather! Love it

I have a very old sample of this (in the gray plastic sprayer) that's been sitting for years among a handful of similar SL samples and I wanted to see if they still had anything in them so I busted out the scent strips. When I sprayed this one it visibly stained the paper and my first thought was "holy shit". That initial impression is persisting because holy shit this fragrance. I'm very sensitive/picky about orange blossom (Memo Marfa is my enemy) and I tend to prefer Neroli because it's less syrupy, but this is truly gorgeous. I don't know if I could wear it on my skin but I absolutely appreciate the quality and artistry of this fragrance. It's truly a narcotic orange blossom, with a tiny bit of skank coming through from the cumin. It's sexy as hell. It smells *like sex*. So what can I say except holy shit.

You know, that moment in Alice in wonderland when she falls down the rabbit hole? Oh well, that is what Fleurs d'Oranger is to me. The second I smelled it I fell in love with this fragrant world, tilted my head back in complete delight as I had never ever smelled anything like it before. This wonderful duo, Serge Lutens and Christopher Sheldrake, have a way of making perfumes which are photorealistic stances of not only the flowers or other ellements but of the feelings one experiments when touches or smells or crushes between fingers. Fleurs d'Orangers feels like summer happiness, that kind when your heart is full. It is ardent and opulent and the cumin note (which I adore) gives it depth and presence. Treasuring my half left bottle like nothing else (but maybe Bas de Soie which is another huge love)💗

I've sampled numerous perfumes built around the orange blossom theme, but this offering from Lutens truly stands out, making similar scents feel banal and redundant. At first spray, Fleurs d’Oranger presents a layered spicy accent over white florals, with a note reminiscent of body odor (the infamous cumin note?). However, this phase lasts only about half an hour, giving way to a stunning blend of orange blossom, jasmine, and even tuberose. Many sources claim this fragrance was ruined by a reformulation a few years ago—I can’t compare, as I never tried the original—but my bottle, from early 2024, still boasts incredible complexity and longevity. It easily lasts over eight hours on both skin and clothing. I couldn't love it more. Oh, and also it's perfectly unisex (I'm a guy).

Oh my goodness! This is just...DIVINE! I was expecting a lot from this and I have to say Serge Lutens hasn't failed me. It started off with a heavy blast of jasmine on my skin but the orange blossom and tuberose quickly followed and it became this dreamy, gorgeous, heavenly creamy white floral scent. I was worried about the cumin note because we don't exactly like each other but it's really so well-blended it doesn't stand out at all and just gives the whole combination a spicy edge. I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality as well. Tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom grow abundantly where I live and this smells exactly like the real thing. Went straight to my want list. White floral lovers, you're missing out!

Absolutely beautiful! 😍🥰 I don't get those awful things people said like sweat, dirty unshowered and cigarettes actually in my case it's quite opposite. This is ultimate orange blossom/white flowers perfume that is so pretty, innocent, clean and bright. When I smell this one I imagine the most beautiful late spring day, full sun, everything is in bloom and lush green. I really enjoy this one so once I get through my sample I will purchase a full bottle for sure. UPDATE: Only 1 out of 7 of my friends like this one 😄 Usually they say it's too strong floral in your face and old lady smell. I hate when other people influence me with their comments (I asked for them 🤦🏻♂️) but I will try to follow only my taste and nose. 🙃

I've written a review before for this one back in 2021, but a little more, a few years later: I've been chasing the high of smelling this fragrance for the first time for over a decade now. Can I recreate the magic, the ecstasy, the intoxication of smelling Fleurs d'Oranger for the first time (or hell, anytime)? Well, no, not really. Because I've already found her. Even the reformulation, it's fine, I still have her. My eyes still roll to the back of my head with every whiff. Where a lot of orange blossom fragrances go either astringent or precious or, in some varieties, even a bit cream puff, Fleur d'Oranger is bolder and unapologetic while maintaining elegance and grace. The orange blossom for me.

Another winner from Serge Lutens for me, maybe my favourite house now and I only possess four fragrances, I have been sleeping on this brand. Fleur d'Oranger smells like beautiful white florals, orange blossom is the headliner, never quite smelled a perfume that has done that note better, so natural smelling. This perfume does have a soapy element but it is the most luxurious soap you can buy, you will smell heavenly all day, super clean with an edge. Love, love, love. Christopher Sheldrake knows how to blend a perfume. Will definitely be buying more from Serge Lutens, I blind bought all my perfumes from SL thus far, it now doesn't feel risky at all.

This is THICK, syrupy, mellow. I love it despite the fact that a bouquet of flowers overpowers the orange blossom. Yes, it's right there if you're looking for it, but so are the jasmine, the tuberose, the rose and the neroli and you can smell each of them if you set your mind to it. I was happily expecting the cumin everyone below is talking about. However, along with the woods and even the musk, it is so faint on me that it serves no other purpose but to give depth to the everlasting florals. (Seriously, this is one of my top long lasting fragrances). Probably the "happiest" of the Lutens I've smelled, yet indolic enough to feel mysterious.

I purchased a decant of this by mistake, and I'm very glad I did. This has everything I normally find cloying and terrible and headache inducing in a white floral, but it's somehow made it very palatable to my senses. It's sweeter and a tad spicier than your average white floral. The sweetness is like that lovely nectar sweetness you get when walking by a bush of lilacs. It smells like it belongs on the skin, it's very beautiful. I'm stunned. There's none of that signature sharpness you get in a lot of white florals, no overpowering musk. It's all soft and blends in with the skin. Summery and sweet. I love it.

This is what a sunny tropical heaven smells like. I probably have this image because I first smelled this in an airport after coming back from holiday. Either my nose does not pick up the cumin situation, or it is almost unnoticeable in this batch, but there is nothing foul about this. Smells almost exactly as a fresh, blossoming orange flower. Then the sweet tuberose comes up. We should not call this a soapy fragrance, this is simply what every little baby soap wishes to smell like when it grows up. And somehow it also has the SG nostalgic note / DNA. I just love this a lot.

I feel like I don’t think of my self as a person who loovvvesss citrus scents, but it just so happens that some of my favorite fragrances I’ve smelled all have an orange note in them. Oranges are a great and beautiful fruit so I’m not mad if that’s the truth in my heart of hearts. This is very very sweet and nice and good for convincing yourself that it’s spring when it’s most definitely still winter. Of all of the perfumes in the Noir set this one definitely doesn’t have any of the kinda evil sultry vibes that some of the other ones have. Very light fresh fun.

After a period of thinking this scent was quite middle-of-the-road, I have finally come around to liking, even loving it! Something recently has changed in me. Lore says I am not a lover of florals, though I guess now I am. Fleurs d'Oranger smells like a heady bouquet of orange blossom and jasmine that has been warmed by the sun. A cup of tea made with orange rinds accompanies it. The scent is elegant yet playful and bright and balanced by the slight bitter quality of neroli and orange piths. Absolutely lovely in all seasons, even on a bright winter day.

There’s also a gentle cooked-fruit richness in the background, a distinctive Lutens’ touch that adds depth and character. Sophisticated yet relaxed, joyful yet composed: this is orange blossom on a cloudless summer day. Not your typical fresh citrus.

Very beautiful Neroli/Jasmin scent. At the top you get beautiful white florals with slighlty animalic Jasmin. But it fades away after 15min. Then you enjoy with beautiful orange blossom and lots of linden blossom to my nose. Great spring scent, when all the trees have blossom, the weather get sunnier; this fragrance fills the blanks in this transition phase with its energetic and natural smell. A bit femmininne but If you are a man who doesn’t care about what others think or say, you can deffinitely pull it on.

Update: I realised this is one of the best perfumes I have ever smelled and that it’s for all seasons and all moods and bought this. Also, love the cumin. — A majestic perfume. Not my style but it's a 5/5. It has a kind of golden aura/halo quality for the first hours. The best part is the beautiful dry-down and the traces are a divine soft honey (similar to ‘Fils de joie’). Good memories for me, linked to smelling white orange blossoms on trees full of dark green leaves as a child. Can have an indolic smell.

This fragrance is so sexy. I've worn and loved orange blossom fragrances before but they usually read clean girl, basic. This is sensual and sophisticated. The tuberose and cumin make it otherwordly. Smells like watching my older cousin Selena get ready for a date in 1996 - it's summery like sunscreen but warm and endlessly sinffable. I dont smell rose or hibiscus just intoxicating warm white floral with cumin and citrus. Has great staying power I can smell it all day, would be great for layering.

I am not really into tuberose but because of the orange blossom and other florals this perfume really works for me. I have just ordered a back up bottle because I feel like its such a good performing delicious scent which is unique in the perfume world. There is a sticky resinous quality to this fragrance which gives it more depth than any tuberose I have smelled. Is it possible that if you cant wear things like Mon Guerlain and Le Vie Belle this will probably work? I wonder!

Oh, sweet mercy, this fragrance is the standard by which all orange-flower-forward fragrances should be judged. I am not typically blown away by an orange flower fragrance, though many are certainly pleasant. However, Fleurs d'Oranger is incredibly narcotic and, dare I say, flawlessly blended and balanced. The depth and richness are there, yet it is very comfortable to wear in hot weather. My nose cannot stay away from it. This one teeters into masterpiece territory for me.

Not sure whether it's my skin chemistry or what, but unlike most reviewers, I find this scent to lean slightly masculine, with a lot of spice and warmth, so it is a fall and winter scent for me. It is also plenty floral, yes, but not at all sweet. The drydown is a little bit funky, but always in a way that makes me want to keep smelling to see where it goes rather than in an off-putting way. In any case, I love it and find it perfect for a sunny crisp winter day.

The most beautiful Orange Blossom I've ever tried! Serge Lutens has created a beautiful, bright fragrance, like a sunny summer outside the Mediterranean. I feel like I'm standing on a windy grass hill, looking out at the beach, surrounded by huge fragrant Orange trees. Its longevity and projection are also impressive, this is definitely the purest Orange Blossom I know. Believe it or not, I can't live without it on my perfume shelf! Rating: 9/10, so feminine

A heavenly white floral that sits deliciously close to my skin. I wear three drops and I love to smell it develop throughout the day. This fragrance will always conjure to mind the trip to Paris when I bought my first bottle of it at the Serge Lutens boutique in the Palais Royal - gorgeous, effortless, sunny - Monet's water lilies, Goyard luggage, Sofia Coppola's 'Marie Antoinette'... Fragrance tied to wonderful memories is such a precious thing.

Tuberose, jammy orange blossom, heady jasmine, some shiny, fresh neroli, a glint of cumin that goes a little potpourri-ish. Delicious, orange-jasmine tea. Fine antique lace and dusty, peach colored silk; something beautiful I’d find in the back of my grandmother’s closet. Lasts quite a while on me, gets woodier and muskier and the potpourri gets stronger, but I love that I can still pick up the orange blossom and jasmine. I absolutely love it.

As a man I love to wear this fragrance. It smells like orange flowers but a bit sweeter than the usual orange blossom. You can notice the other white florals in the back. I swear I can detect a lily of the valley nuance even if it's not listed amongst the notes. I also love the cumin in here that makes everything more unusual and interesting. This fragrance has a bit of a vintage vibe and that's its greates prerogative.

This to me is how humans are supposed to smell. It evokes the feeling of beautiful water nymphs and Greek Gods and Goddesses. I imagine the aristocracy of Ancient Greece smelled like this. I won’t describe the scent itself too much, bc it’s been discussed at length here—but I will say that it’s extremely natural and not at all screechy, and unlike other “white floral” scents, the tuberose does not overpower.

I just recently got this and i love it. Im really into orange right now and this really hits the spot! It is great in performance. I am so impressed! Lots of flowers too but honestly very sensual. This would be great for a date night in summer. I dont get cumin but my nose is not that mature. Update: after wearing multiple times i love it more and more. I love orange so much , just beautiful!

Too much jasmine and tons of tuberose, while I love both of these flowers, I was hoping for a more orange blossom heavy perfume, hence the name. I did buy a bottle but not my favorite Orange blossom perfume. I honestly don’t detect any orange blossom at all. Can someone please tell me why does SL have to put cumin in all his fragrances? Why? Does he think everyone wants to smell like cumin?

I've looked for SO LONG for a true orange blossom and jasmine perfume. The wait is finally over, this is it. Having moved abroad I missed the experience of smelling the fresh smell of Jasmine and Orange blossom that I was brought up with as a mediteranean woman. Every spritz of this perfume on my skin and I am in my grandmother's garden at night enjoying orange blossom perfumed cakes.

Stunning real life alike jasmine scent, that’s so heady and intoxicating like pushing one’s face into the bunch of flowers! Absolutely incredible. On skin might reveal some of that “sweaty” cumin, but honestly, I don’t mind; it smells like human skin in summer, when we’re all sweaty anyway 😂. Love, love, love: genius creation and absolutely not for everyone, it’s just too particular!

Really smells like true orange blossoms. Refreshing, clean. Great for a summer morning or early evening. It’s a big burst at first but that quickly settles and you get the other flowers. It really is a beautiful scent but if you want it to be notice more then two hours you will need to reapply. To me it is unisex. It’s not a sweet scent, definitely a white floral.

I know a lot of people don't care for the cumin note here, but I personally find it to be the perfect sharp finisher to a light and at some times difficult to pin down citrus. Someone else described this as walking through an orange orchard, which I agree with, but add to that that you're eating a carnitas taco while you're at it. I kind of love it.
