La Fille de Berlin Edition Limitée

For some reason this becomes my cold, rainy day perfume. Don't ask me how and why, but it does gives off someone walking down the streets in the city alone, wearing a coat and a red umbrella on a rainy day. Probably because of the name "Berlin girl". Very rosy, lightly sweetened and green/earthy.

A bit of honey, a bit of dust, a bit of murky water on the bottom of the metallic jug you use for flowers, the flowers have been there a few days starting to decay - its dark, its raining a little and the core is 50/50 rose & geranium. La Fille is a little odd in a good way, odd in the same way as Lush Tank Battle (which I looooove and which is much more bubblegummy and in your face), pleasantly odd like your own private thought, musing that you smile about but there are very few people who could understand your sentiment. Yes I like it.

This is a good rose, but definitely an urban, metallic scent. I love this for those grey midseason days where it just might rain, or an evening out. It lacks the warmth I prefer for my winter scents, and definitely not something I'd want to wear in summer. Perfect for early spring and autumn in the city.

I bought a sample of this because I am looking for a replacement for Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose,a true gem that has sadly been discontinued. This was very different rose scent. So sharp and cold. It makes me think of an old ,very strict lady. (This must be what the grandmother in "Flowers in the attic" smelled like😬) It is incredibly strong and it gave me a headache. Will not use again.

it is just too sweet for men, I hope a more unisex EDP can be added in this collection with more woody notes and fewer floral notes

This scent has two stages: First, it starts with a dark rosy opening with notes of honey and something metallic, then after about 2 hours, it moves into a powerdry cold rose smell. When you first apply it, the smell of a dark honey rose dominates, but after a while it begins to smell like a metallic powdered rose. Something is melancholic and cold about this scent to me, which keeps it very unique. The longevity and projection are very strong, and this is a one-spray fragrance for me. Overall a great fragrance, highly recommend it to niche fragrance lovers especially if you are trying to find a realistic rose smell with a touch of coldness. Smells like someone is holding a bouquet of dark red roses on a cloudy day surrounded by dark pine trees.
