Do nosso caderno

La Fille de Berlin, or The Girl from Berlin, might, on the surface, sound romantic or cinematic. But it is widely believed the name alludes to a much darker moment in post-World War II Berlin, a period marred by social collapse and widespread violence against women in the aftermath of the city’s fall. I prefer to think the narrative is one of iconic Berlin femininity rather than historical atrocity, but it is still worth acknowledging the controversy that surrounded it at the time of its release. To describe this perfume as a colour, it would be the deepest, darkest lipstick red you can imagine. Perhaps an elegant dominatrix dressed entirely in black leather, her hair pulled back tightly into a bun, staring at you in a way that feels both intimidating and sexual. An initial overdose of sweetness so piercing it feels almost sharp, even metallic, set against a peppery geranium, the two pulling at each other as if in a struggle for control. They needn’t bother, as both are soon cast aside by a soft powder bringing a hush over the sharp edges. It happens so quickly, you’re left wondering if you imagined it. Where did she go? Oh, there she is. Now she’s holding a lit candle, tipping warm wax over your bare skin. It should feel hot, burning, but instead it’s cold and austere, and you find yourself calling out for more. No, you’re not in control here. She is. You’ll get more only if she wants you to. This is a beautifully dangerous woman, the kind you fall in love with, only to wake and find she’s already gone. There’s no note, just the memory of a lustful encounter seared into your mind, leaving you to wonder if it really happened at all, or if it was only just a dream.

Berlin. Thorny. Extremes. Notorious. Strong willed. Explosive. I have an image in my mind of a long black-haired woman with porcelain skin. She walks with an intense swagger, a wave of the hips that is far from natural but very intentional. She owns the room. Her long stiletto heels click, click, click. She’s wearing bright, glossy, red leather. She wants your attention and won’t take no for an answer. The introduction seems sweet enough. Maybe too sweet. Her smile a bit too big, a bit too cutesy, the handshake a bit too dainty. She’s got tricks up her sleeve; an ulterior motive. The jammy sweet rose accord is thick enough to cut with a knife, but it quickly starts to turn. It turns glossy, just like her rather portentious looking red leathers. There is an impenetrable sheen to the rose accord. The glint comes from a beautifully judged peppery green note whose fruity green waxiness laminates the rose. The lights start to dim as she takes you by the hand to lead you to some room, and the sheen turns sort of dark metallic like the dull glint of iron ore. The rose goes a bit dark mossy, before ending on a translucent buckwheat honey type note and musks that truly feels like you’re fumbling around in low light. Many describe Fille as gothic. This is correct, but this is real goth - the old school, slightly terrifying Berlin goth, not the laughable kind wearing all black baggy clothes, chains cheap enough to be broken by hand, chins down when they walk, and applying mascara to make it look like they were crying. This perfume needs a safe word, but I don’t think she wants to tell you what it is.

This is a peculiar rose perfume. It has an immediate metallic edge of something resembling menthol. It gives an icy, blood-like quality to the opening. I can smell ripe, juicy, dark berries on the vine, but due to the presence of the metallic note it comes off as medicinal, in a cherry cough drop kind of way. I can smell the thorny red rose, the greenery, as if it had been raining in the garden and now the sun has just appeared. Perhaps some geranium in there too. Once it has settled after around ten minutes or so, it becomes more like a honied rose, embedded in a light, barely-there musk. It’s a lot sweeter than I was expecting, not “mature” as such, and I wouldn't say it was elegant exactly. It’s also not a “realistic” rose to me, as some people are saying. It still has that icy edge from what I read as menthol, pepper, and geranium. After an hour or two, I find it to be quite agreeable. I have a feeling this scent could potentially grow on me, so I’m going to test it a few more times and perhaps edit this review. But right now, I like it, but I don’t love it. I like that it’s a fairly unobtrusive rose scent, enough so for daily or even professional wear. I don’t like that the metallic edge changes the character of what otherwise may be quite a naturalistic, slightly green jammy rose to have a medicinal edge which doesn’t quite meld into my skin like other fragrances. I will report back.

La Fille de Berlin is a dark, brooding rose wrapped in mystery—a flower draped in a velvet cloak, its beauty hidden in the shadows. The opening is deep and enigmatic, like a rose just out of reach, its petals steeped in darkness. But as the fragrance unfolds, the rose steps into the light, placed at the center of the room for all to see. Its green leaves emerge, vibrant and fresh, while sharp, blood-tipped thorns glisten in the air. There’s an edge to this scent, an almost metallic bite that runs through the greenness, yet it never loses its floral heart. The rose remains dominant, standing with an air of quiet defiance—elegant, feminine, yet unwavering in its strength. It is both sharp and warm, like an embrace that holds firm, unyielding yet deeply comforting. The name fits perfectly. La Fille de Berlin carries the spirit of German women during the war—resilient, enigmatic, and emotionally charged. She is a rose in full bloom, but her thorns serve as a reminder of history, of struggle, and of survival. She is beauty and strength intertwined, an embodiment of feminine power that refuses to be softened. In terms of projection, it is refined yet distinct, lingering at an arm’s length without overwhelming. The longevity is impressive, lasting around seven hours on my skin. Scent: 9/10 Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10

Gorgeous, honeyed, deep red roses with a patchouli note I can really get behind as it is not weedy or dirty. Along with the geranium it adds a lovely fresh and spicy aromatic greenness to this scent. The longer it wears on, it becomes a little soapy, mossy, uber feminine, and pillowy soft. Really lovely. It smells wonderful now. I think it will really shine in the fall. Edit - 8/25 This has become one of my favorite rose perfumes, (which is really saying something because I have a lot of rose perfumes), but I find it very changeable, depending on the weather. Sometimes, it smells like a honeyed roses; sometimes very dark and goth; sometimes very rosy and with a berry, jammy type sweetness; other times greener and a little sharp, almost like a rose chypre; sometimes like an expensive, fine milled rose soap; and my least favorite, sometimes very metallic, like what you would smell off a rusty nail or the iron in blood. I really should have remembered what season that was so that I could avoid it, but I believe it was in late winter. But today, it has been jammy and sweet and now if I smell where I sprayed this morning, like a fine rose soap. I really love this perfume, even though at times I may find it challenging. It really is a wonderful perfume.

As a chronic sampler who is hopelessly addicted to smelling new things, I always feel a strange sense of unease when I am about to spray one of my old favorites... what if my tastes changed and I don't love it anymore, what if I find once beloved fragrance to be suddenly mediocre at best? And every time I come back to one of my beloved SLs, I feel a sense of relief - yes, this is it, this is what made me fell in love with fragrances to begin with. La Fille De Berlin... without a doubt, my favorite rose perfume. Arguably the last SL perfume that can be called a masterpiece. I wore it again today after many months, and I swear, it gets better each time. There still is no rose on the market like the rose of La Fille De Berlin. Jammy, slightly metallic, sweet. Not sure what else to say... it is simply perfect. And to me it is and has always been a happy rose. I could never smell the tragedy, the resilience, the blood and the rest of what SL's obnoxious release notes promised... but I have always disliked his aesthetics and cringey AF marketing materials. But I always loved his perfumes, and this will never change.

One of my favorites from Serge Lutens. Today I have a privilege to compare the modern perfume (bottle with large black label) to an original from 2013, the first year it was released (smaller beige label). I am very happy to report that they are the same. Old juice is perhaps just a little bit stronger, but the scent is identical. This is definitely my favorite rose centered perfume, but it is not a soliflore. To my nose the geranium is also very pronounced. But the rose is definitely the star - a fresh young rose bouquet, certainly deep blood red, that was just brought inside from cold. Sweet, amazingly natural, as close to the real flower as it gets in perfumery. To me this is a happy scent. I know it was not intended as such with all the initial controversial marketing, but to me it is, especially if comparing it to other SL's roses - morbid Rose de Nuit or serious and stern La Fille Tour De Fer. If you enjoy roses in your perfumes, this is a must have for you. You just have to experience it (here is me again, trying to get people on Serge Lutens train), especially since it is so affordable at discounters.

God this is gorgeous. Immediately I thought of Orpheus. It smells like self destructive devotion to a corpse. Tragic and cold and somehow raunchy. It reminds me of the scented prayer beads I had as a child, very heavy rose water smell but with something sharp and coppery just under. Like hanging onto an iron railing overlooking a lake in the dark, with the moss and the silence and the cold breeze and the knowledge that things could have been very different than they are now if you could go back just a day or at least an hour. I can’t imagine a situation that would call for this but I can’t imagine many that wouldn’t. It’s stark and distinctive but overall still pleasant and refined. Definitely a feminine tilt but it’s got an oud-adjacent smell that would be received as unmistakably masculine in other parts of the world. Too much of a rich narcotic quality to work as summer fragrance but genuinely beautiful and otherwise very wearable. Though it does sometimes bring to mind the smell of the afterbirth a stray cat left in my garage, for better or worse. Sexy rose-violet with hints of rust and papercut

You need 100ml of this. Nonnegotiable. You need the large, thin, rectangular bottle of dark wine red liquid that smells like a beautiful juicy rose, drying down to a mesmerizing, storied, dried rose, all across a background of mild spices and smooth liquid gold. You need it. You need to use the dab bottle option and splash that dark red wine on your wrist and marvel at the almost bloodiness of it. You need to put the atomizer on and mist yourself in this delicious, sexy fragrance, equal parts refreshing and mysterious, cloying and freeing. You need it. I don't know any Berliners, nor any Filles de Berlin. I don't know what any German would smell like, let alone an artsy one, or a techno fan, or whatever else is truer to Berlin than any other stereotype. I do know that you need this fragrance, because my coworker raved that it smelled like the virgin Mary, and my friend commented that it smells like a dominatrix, and my other friend said it smells like I was born in the 1930's, and my other friend said that it smells like a 2000's take on rose. Whatever. You need La Fille de Berlin.

This fragrance is so dramatic, and over the top it made me laugh. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I was searching for something like this: dramatic, unsettling, and dark af. This super concentrated rose just wafts and wafts in the most broody, dramatic, relentless way. Sure, it changes over time. The heart introduces a little greenery to it, making the scent more reminiscent of a dying rose bouquet, and the dry down offers up a hint of metallic something, making it smell somewhat like blood (the juice also has this deep red colour). But the hyperbole of the rose just permeates it. And it lingers for so long. Spreads so far, and kills every other less dramatic scent around. This smells like vampire from World of Darkness, probably a Toreador. It's so broody and dark and dramatic. And that metallic tinge makes it *so edgy*. It's very goth. Wear it to feel like a dark and romantic vampire princess. I give it 5/5 fangs for the relentless rose, and 3/5 black eyeliners for broody nature.

The first time I wore this, it didn't sit right with me. The rose was jammy and grandma-esque, and the spiciness felt like it was completely disconnected from the overall scent direction. However, as the time passed, it transformed, and boy, did it transform beautifully. Now this rose has become much lighter, but this lightness comes from the fact that its stem has been cast under a layer of metal. Perhaps this image is a trick of my consciousness, and the real picture is much more violent; this metallic aspect is the smell of blood. Regardless, the rose itself didn't lose its comforting aspect and is still quite feminine. That being said, despite this being a one hundred percent feminine fragrance, as a man, I enjoy wearing it. This scent is like my companion, surrounding me with comfort and melancholy care. If you try to describe it through feelings, then for me it is the smell of unhappy, unrealistic, and non-reciprocal but very romantic and therefore pleasant love...

Years ago I had a travel size of this one and I lost it... somehow I also forgot how much I actually loved this fragrance. I now own a big bottle so let's write a proper review. I don't really get the goth association or "dark" fragrance. To me this is quite a realistic rose, not sweet despite the honey note. I guess the honey just "softens" the composition in some ways. It is fresh and delicate. It smells like rose and geranium petals drowned into honey water. That's it. This is not an overly sweet girly rose fragrance and that's why it's so different. This is actually one of my most wearable perfume and I honestly cannot imagine how someone could dislike this scent on someone else. On my skin the longevity is not fantastic but in the hair this is fine. I also don't find this one to be unisex at all. Sorry guys to me this is a female fragrance. So this is it. An excellent perfume. Relatively simple but yet unmatched in my opinion :)

i’ve been trying to review this one for quite some time and i can’t find the words for it... i love it sooo much it was love at first sniff lowkey which was surprising as i hate most rosy perfumes but this is different its a jammy rose scent at first with a hint of something metallic in the background and then you get the honey which also adds a sweetness to it its so long lasting on me i literally sprayed myself a couple times in the morning and after a full day came back, took a shower, and i still would get whiffs of it on my body also !!! i always get compliments when i wear this like actually every single time i get at least one id recommend this to everyone omg at least get a sample if you’re undecided cause this changed my life.. i bought a smaller bottle when i first got it and after like a week i bought the full one cause i knew this was the one<3

a divine, jammy, seemingly 'simple' rose that is anything but. keeps me coming back for more! sometimes I get up from what I am doing in the middle of the day just to go smell my bottle. I feel this way about many lutens fragrances, they are addictive and la fille de berlin is no exception. I love the smell of real roses, and I rarely feel that any perfume captures them accurately. while I wouldn't call this a photorealistic rose, it is almost better - like the platonic, imagined ideal of a rose, but with something nostalgic that reminds me of my mom, my grandma, and all of the classy, chic women I've ever known. there's an odd green freshness to this that sets it apart. I love wearing this to bed. it is the ultimate nighttime, post-everything shower, wearing fresh pajamas fragrance to float you seamlessly into your dreams. completely full bottle worthy.

Brooding and dramatic, this syrupy rose perfume conjures up the image of a dark-haired, porcelain-skinned, red-lipped woman entering a theatre foyer. She's wearing a black sequinned dress, classic black heels and carries a dark velvet clutch. Beside her, a tall man in a midnight-blue dinner suit. They're wearing the same perfume, and it suits them equally. This is a supremely elegant, slightly austere and somewhat mysterious fragrance. Whoever wears it harbours secrets and enjoys the finer things in life, but not in a flashy, ostentatious way. Theirs is an old-school, cinematic glamour. Are they even real? It leans slightly feminine but is neither girly nor old lady-ish; a dapper man wears it well. It suits all seasons but is best worn at night — at the Sydney Opera House, La Scala, or better yet the Staatsoper. She is, after all, the girl from Berlin.

La Fille de Berlin or, ‘The Girl from Berlin’, is one of the most beautiful rose fragrances currently on the market in my humble opinion. However, it’s also a very simple scent - focusing entirely on the supple beauty of the rose flower, or a young girl of Berlin which you struggle to erase from your memory. The rose is bright and soapy, it epitomises the clean and sweet characteristics perfectly. It’s gorgeously clean and delicate, whilst remaining quite noticeably pulpy and stemmy. It doesn’t resemble the annoyingly cloying, jammy roses which you see quite often these days. It undeniably feels as though it was inspired by Guerlain’s Nahema, even if only loosely. A stunningly simplistic rose like this is a must have in everyone’s collection in my opinion, as a reference point of what a great rose scent is and can be, at the very least.

You know that feeling when you try a perfume and tell yourself... "I have no idea why it took me so long to buy this masterpiece"? That impression of finally finding a scent that will forever be part of your collection and could even become a signature scent. I am beyond excited! This perfume had been on my wishlist for 4 years because the note pyramid didn’t really speak to me at first, but after trying it... oh, wow! It reminds me of a mix between Amouage’s Lyric Woman, Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir, and Frederic Malle’s Rose Tonnerre. And on top of that, the price point, for a niche fragrance ... is excellent. Absolutely STUNNING. It’s a deep red rose with a touch of honey; dark, noble, and fragrant. Such a beautiful creation by Serge Lutens. I could wear this in summer, winter, day or night. I’ve fallen in love. This is a solid 10/10.

This perfume is excellent, but a lie. First, this rose is not from Berlin, dark, grungy, and hipster. It is from further East, from South East Europe. It's a rose of those grown in gardens and used by Balkan grandmas in small villages to make delicious rose jam, the one they use only special occasions. It also has that Eastern European wet organic scent - the wild honey, native oakmoss and familiar animalics. Which brings me to the second lie: the base notes. What makes this fragrance so great is the mix of a realistic jammy rose on top of a strong organic base, one with an important animalic component. The animalics are not present in the listed notes but most definitely there, for which I am grateful. All in all, a great, familiar rose.

Marjo’s grief turned to a fevered devotion. She could not let Viktor slip into oblivion. All she had left were the bouquet of red, velvety roses he’d given her, still lush with their heady scent, and the strange vial of his blood he’d gifted her with a whisper: “Forever.” In their Berlin mansion, she withdrew into solitude, driven by a desperate need to preserve his memory. Rain battered the windows as she crushed the roses with a delicate frenzy, their petals seeming to bleed with a crimson hue as their essence mingled with Viktor’s blood. From her fever dream, a perfume emerged—"La Fille de Berlin." Its dark, intoxicating scent wove roses with an enigmatic undertone, capturing a love that endures even through loss.

Dark, juicy, jammy rose. Crucially, it smells modern. It isn't soapy or sour, it doesn't screech, and it most certainly does not tell you how it met your grandfather before the war. This is a rose to try if you don't like rose. The honey and patchouli are so well-blended that I think it's really only there to make this rose feel floaty, a bit sexy, and velvety soft. La Fille de Berlin is perfection for Fall. It's an easy reach, and a solid compliment-getter. If there's a problem with La Fille, it's that I can't smell it on myself after a few hours (but other people CAN. And from several feet away). Full-bottle and back-up bottle worthy. Excellent value for the money. I will always have it in my collection. 9.7/10

Finally, I got it. A fragrance what was on my wishlist for a long time. I needed something to cheer myself up, and found a bottle online on sale. I never tried it before, but the discription, the notes, the bottle design, everything was so likeable in my opinion. I bought it blind. And it arrived in the mail today. I am such a lucky girl now! The rose, it smells exactly like the fresh pink roses from the parks around my childhood neigbourhood. It is so nostalgic, yet very modern. It has something dark about it, something cold, but at the same time it is classy and cheerful. It is a perfect spring scent, it smells new and fresh but also a little bit gloomy. Really, really happy with this purchase.
- em inglês
deep rose, without any screechy sharpness, just beautiful petals upon petals in dark red. i'm easily won over by an opening like this; if the rose note is the highlight, in the shadows of the picture painted by this scent more and more complexities get revealed. a slight metallic glint, a whisper of velvety patchouli. a very sophisticated rose that unfortunately fades fairly quickly on my skin; i only got a few hours of wear time out of it before i had to really get my nose very close to the skin to detect it. i've seen others call it a 'gothic' scent but it's not dark or foreboding at all to me, just very pretty. despite the longevity issues, this is something i would wear again, and often.
- em inglês
A rose petal rosary on bloodied hands. For the longest time I couldn't make out exactly how I feel about La Fille de Berlin but one thing I knew for certain is that this perfume won't be my daily reach. It holds a heavy emotional weight. It smells like a strong woman who finally, finally let her walls down and allow herself be loved for the first time, only for it to be taken, brutally ripped out of her life. She's grieving and mourning and boiling with rage for being powerless against fate. She has yet to accept the ephemeral nature of life, the ruthless cycle of death and rebirth, the reality that change is the only thing that's permanent. Hits too close to home for me personally.
- em inglês
This has been described as an icy rose, and I have to agree. There is something in the top note of this fragrance that to my nose smells like peppermint, but a sweet peppermint, like candycanes mixed with a subtle, but very pretty, rose accord. Once it settles, however, it smells like a fresh, well-kept garden of roses, stem and all. It's a delicate scent, sweet and very feminine, but not in a juvenile way. I can picture a confident young woman wearing this - somebody free-spirited and beautiful in her kindness. I'm not picking up on any metallic notes that could give this fragrance an edge, but perhaps that is what's reading so minty to me.
- em inglês
If Joan of Arc wore perfume I think it would be something like this. I'm a big rose fan and was so excited for my sample to arrive, and it exceeded my expectations. The rose is deep and jammy, but not powdery or matronly. The metallic/blood notes are also quite apparent from the onset. I used to live in Berlin, and before smelling this I was having a hard time understanding how a jammy rose scent might evoke Berlin, but Sheldrake knew what he was doing. There's a coldness about this. It somehow brings to mind concrete, war, hospital bandages, and Cold-war era espionage. Like a femme fatale spy carrying secrets back to East Berlin. 9/10.
- em inglês
Atmospheric, evokes memories and a sense of peace. Just a slight nudge of a lipstick accord, which is actually beautiful here. So, so classic without qualifying itself as vintage. I'm getting a slight aquatic tone peeking out from a jammy rose bush. Somehow this feels like the last day of spring with the clearest powder blue skies you've ever seen. This is so nicely blended, with notes that balance and intertwine with each other delicately but distinctly. One downside is that the notes mute fairly quickly into the drydown. Feminine, moderate sillage, but short longevity. Still, this is an easy love for me.
- em inglês
Rose with a velvety voice She's not your porcelain rose. This is velvet and thorns, lipstick smeared after a bold laugh, a bruise that bloomed into beauty. The color of the juice tells the whole story — deep, carnal, unapologetically alive. Its fluidity is divine: a deep ruby pink, almost like liquid velvet or pomegranate blood, the most dramatic of rose shades. This color itself is a manifestation. The rose here doesn't whisper - she strikes, then stays. Metallic, spicy, and strangely tender. It lingers like a secret too proud to be hidden. Wears like armor. Or a love bee.
- em inglês
Dark, mysterious, almost threatening rose. Starts off as an intense, very red, cold, metallic rose, like you're at a graveyard late at night dropping some flowers on a loved one's tombstone. Then, the sweetness of the honey brings some light to the composition until finally, the oakmoss and patchouli come linger in the background. But the rose and honey are the two dominant notes. Not a safe blind buy at all, you have to LOVE rose to like that perfume but in my humble opinion, this is a masterpiece and defnitely a fragrance to have in your collection if you are a rose lover.

Serge Lutens seemed to struggle on my skin in years past, but I've recently decided to revisit the house and have found a few loves. One of them is La Fille de Berlin. Is it particularly unique? No; these days, honey roses are a dime a dozen. But this is so wearable and smooth, so likeable, that I've really fallen for it. I do think it leans feminine and daytime, but I could see it being a daily scent all year round. The patchouli adds a bit of texture, but it's not an especially "dirty" or prominent note, if that makes sense. Definitely worth a shot if you're a rose fan.
- em inglês
This is one of the roses to which I keep coming back. A mature, crimson evening rose, just bordering on a little dramatic. Elegant, but something in this scent screams melancholy. It could be Dita Von Teese without the bold stage persona. Appeal of sadness. "Only Lovers Left Alive" movie. Associations aside, it's a dry, deep rose, slightly sweetened with honey, on a dark green base. It's even a bit metallic or it's my nose that interprets it this way, but I feel this compliments the composition. Also, I agree with Miasha's remark, it's a cold kind of rose.
- em inglês
Shrub roses. Ground cover roses. Dog roses. Bumblebees under all those bushes. Middle of June-beginning of July. Heady intoxicating bewitching aroma, always evokes the feeling of nostalgy. No matter, where we will end up living, we always will think that at home those flowers smelled better. Richer. More distinctive. Yet each time in summer we would make a circle to pass those shrubs closer with the blissful smile, drunk from our own happy memories La fille de Berlin, de Paris, de Moscow, de Amsterdam, de Prague...

I think this is one of the best roses fragrances I have ever tried, hands down. Jammy and velvety, yet fresh. Not grandmotherly, but still mature. Elegant, stunning. You can smell a honeyed edge to it as well. I'm lacking on words here, it is just unparalleled as a rose fragrance. It is definitely fresh but also spicy. It’s an entire rose, with thorns, stems, and leaves included. This does spray red, so the note about staining is wise. I'd apply directly to skin rather than to clothes, then let it dry a bit.
- em inglês
Very beautiful scent that creates a vivid bubble but does not tire. Very rosy, verging on jammy, but at the same time not obvious - like rose confiture in black tea. One of the best scents recently created. Universal with regards to weather, adds a spring-summery feel to winter day, but fits well. It is also great for both day and night. And it is a classic beauty, nothing challenging. Perfect as a first Lutens scent and will also make a great gift it is so undeniably beautiful and charming.
- em inglês
Jammy rose scents, at least to me, come across as more youthful or daytime scents, and while someone could get away with wearing this during the day, to me this is very much a sexy evening fragrance. Several have mentioned the geranium coming across a little metallic smelling, and I totally get that—it's very macabre. Serge Lutens DNAs can tend to lean a little austere, a tad gothic, mysterious; this is all of that. If Lestat de Lioncourt was a woman, this is what she would smell like.
- em inglês
This reminds me of Floris Rose Geranium which I own but you added honey to make it a bit sweet and patchouli to make it a bit earthy. A very geranium forward fragrance more than a rose fragrance just like rose geranium by Floris. A unisex earthy and grassy geranium forward rose perfume. Straightforward. An easy dumb reach type of fragrance. Informal, easy, natural, quite Bohemian. A gardeners outdoorsy fragrance. I love it. My husband loved this as well. On the want shelf it goes.
- em inglês
The opening palmarosa scent is so wonderful, it blends so well with the sweet, honeyed rose. I don't get any metallic or bloody notes, but the vibrant grassy scent does help refresh your mind. I can see an opinionated girl here, no pushover, not mature enough but she's got principles and goals in life. She's not easy-going but people love her for what she is, active and evolving, harsh but also sweet, you look forward to who she'll become in her future. Full bottle worthy.
- em inglês
Fresh, innocent, natural rose. It also has a touch of metallic geranium, and maybe a bit of a clean laundry vibe, but mostly it's just an extremely well done, photorealistic, fresh earthy rose scent. Some may call it simplistic, I call it pure, elegant and unpretentious. I don't really consider myself a fan of rose scents, but it's different when it's done in such a faithfully realistic way that it smells like an actual plant more than it does like a perfume.

I will say it as many time it needs to be said, this is one of the most beautiful rose fragrances money can buy. One of my favorites if you enjoy the note of rose and not enough the words to describe this fragrance. The right way to use this is: James & Jo “Rose and Neroli” body lotion>> HERMANN A MES COTES ME PARAISSAIT UNE OMBRE by Etat libre d’ Orange>> La Fille de Berlin. This will smells like a green rose garden lighted by the rays of the sun.

It smells like crushed red roses! 😍 When I was a child, I used to make dolls from red rose petals—the kind of roses that weren’t meant for fancy bouquets. They had this unique, unmistakable scent. This perfume captures that, like I’m holding those soft, blood-red petals in my hand, crushing them along with the green stems. It’s a rose that feels slightly creamy, a bit like lipstick, but not old-fashioned or sweet! I absolutely love it!🥰

The gorgeousness of the bottle is making me almost euphoric! It's the ultimate vampire perfume. Like Drusilla from BTVS or a black haired model from a Type O Negative music video. I can imagine it smells even better on a warm, naked body... 💋🫀🥀 But maybe I'm just ovulating! Starts out kinda clean, powdery-lotiony clean. Then the luscious, red petals bloom. And finally there's the stem—green and slightly metallic, a tiny bit spicy.

Not any rose but a very specific kind of rose. A bit fresh in the opening, could gives cold vibes. Drydown much warmer and sweeter. Like a rose bud slowly blooming in the break of dawn. Like the image of a girl that comes off distant when you first met, but so lovely after you get to know her. It develops so much on skin that I was taken by suprise. She's moody and I'm all for it. Sometimes appears to have a sourness under heat.

A deep, dark, rich ROSE scent that lingers on skin for many hours and clothing for days! It's divine. This is one of the few scents I've purchased twice (granted, in the 10 ml size), finding myself longing for it after I'd used up the first travel spray. This projects beautifully without overwhelming and the color of the juice is gorgeous. Love me some Serge and this is one of my favorites of the line. Must love rose!!

A strikingly elegant rose wrapped in honey and oakmoss. Fresh yet deep, with a hint of dark cherry – juicy but never overly sweet – and a subtle liqueur-like nuance that adds warmth and allure. As it settles, the texture becomes crisp, earthy, dry, and green, grounding the florals with a raw, textured edge. Addictive and beautifully composed, it carries that juicy luminosity so characteristic of Serge Lutens.

I get a realistic dark red rose with some salty, metallic undertones. There’s a sense of blood dripping down the back of your throat as if you got a nosebleed and tilted your head backwards. Some describe rose fragrances as just the rose head, or the entire rose with leaves and stem. This is the entire rose with thorns, and they are sharp. Absolutely beautiful and very gothic.

The most photorealistic rose fragrance I’ve try. The crips and spicy aroma with the subtle sweet from the honey. I love this rose, is wet, raw, natural, fresh cut from the bush. If you don’t like rose fragrances you can try this one, is more aromatic than other roses. I personally spray this over the solid perfume of Eau Capitale from diptyque and it’s a match made in heaven.

A distinct, non-sweet, non-musky dried rose. I was surprised that the bloody note is so noticeable. Not as aggressive as I expected. Very wearable and not conventionally perfumey. Smells like a potion. If La Fille de Berlin is a dried, bloody bouquet, then La Fille Tour de Fer is its precursor, a fresh garden rose on the stem. I love having them both as counterparts.

Lovely. On my skin I get rose garden in full bloom, fleeting violet during dry down, and a soft patchouli under it all. After about 4 hours the floral scent remained, but it was muddier, no longer that pure rose, at times after five hours it was a hint soapy, but usually rose doesn't last on me at all so this was pleasing. I didn't get the metal that some did.

It's overcast and foggy late afternoon as a hard frost encapsulates all the greenery. You come across luscious roses that have frozen. You break off a few roses but you draw blood from the jagged thorns. Peter Steele sees this and licks the blood from your fingers and kisses you deeply. That's my take on the cold metallic rose that is La Fille de Berlin.

The rose perfume I imagine Marlene Dietrich wore in Berlin in 1930s. So beautiful, bold, sexy, mysterious, but also kind of fresh at the same time. Not fresh like Lutens other rose perfume, Sa Majeste La Rose. Spicy but unlike most rose fragrances released in the last 5-10 years (no oudy note here). My favorite rose fragrance now for sure.

If Cancer were a perfume, it would be La Fille de Berlin. Serge Lutens is an amazing house. There is always this gloom and melancholy in all the fragrances I have tried from this house. Again, this is a dream for anyone who loves gothic aesthetics. Gloomy, nostalgic, cold...And the reddest of the reddest roses you can find.
