Sergio Soldano Black

also known as "nero" and "classico". soldano black is the spring-summer version of krizia uomo, which is stronger, more refined, more mature and more serious. the notes i detect more are pine tree, mandarin, lemon and oakmoss. the pine and oakmoss are the mature side of this fragrance, when the lemon, mandarin and vetiver give to soldano black a casual, relaxed and happy vibe. this fragrance is good for a mature man during holydays and casual situations. soldano black is very popular in italy, i think 1 on 5 have tried this at some point of his life(maybe not the young people), the price is very cheap and it is easy to find. the quality of the juice is far more superior than 15-20 euro, but it's not for everyone, especially for the young crowd, so dont blind buy. very good performance. the brown version is good too. un profumo ottimo con un prezzo stracciato. scent: 8 longevity:8 sillage:7,5 uniqueness: 8 bottle:8(it's a plastic cheap box, but it's so playful...) versatility:7,5 compliment factor-6 my vote: 8 in one word: casual

I learned about this fragrance on the outstanding Chris' Scent Land channel on Youtube. This Italian workhorse is truly amazing. I love fragrances that are after applying they surprise me every hour with something new and amazing while lingering in the air. Although pretty old school as far the release date, if this was released today people would go crazy for it because of its uniqueness. I do have the white one as well, however the black is much better in my opinion, it is more aromatic. I wholeheartedly agree with the comparison with Versace and Boucheron above, but this thing is the real deal. More loudness, more edge, more Italian swagger. Highly recommended for those who dare.

Well, this is a magnificent one (and thanks CGV for the recommendation on your YT!). This is a bracing symphony of pine, grapefruit, aldehydes and oakmoss that just sings on my skin. God, I love a good aromatic, and this does not disappoint one bit. Being over 40 is so liberating as I have shed all self-conscience to wear anything that I love regardless of whether it may be perceived as 'dated.' And it's pretty clear that I have a penchant for garish looking bottles. I love it.

So this is really the most "fresh" or "refreshing" oldschool fragrance I know. I also own the aftershave tho and a vintage version of this fragrance, all are superb. The current formula lacks nothing and the price is really good on this one. It's lemony, piney, fresh and slightly "pissy" and "sharp". I like it very much. Very energetic in the morning and a little bit aggressive but in a very pleasant way. The only downside is that after 3-4 hours the scent has almost disappeared, but given the incredibly low price I don't feel like protesting. A real bargain.

A total and utter Italian masterpiece of the 80's! Aromatic, fresh, punchy in a truly Italian way. I first wore it in 1991 and the bottle/scent hasnt changed a bit. Very tacky plastic bottle looking like a dashboard of a 1985 fiat croma. Pure nostalgic beauty.

I have also White. Got them both for ca.30 usd. Some say they cannot tell them apart. Well I can definitely tell them apart. White is smoother and less in you face of them. Black is a tad harsh in the first half an hour but then it settles. I don't know which note but on my skin it projects some "sharpness" like a smell of freshly crushed peppers (no it's not peppers). I like it but I prefer White over this. Still I will get the back up of this gem. And probably go for the Brown one as well. @Non serviam Sorry to read it doesn't work on your skin but I have tested it on five different people and it stays for 6-7hrs easily. My bottles are from late 2021 and made in Italy.

For me, the best soap scent with lavender. Very invigorating and refreshing with a gentle woody-earthy drydown. Lavender fields can be found in France as well as in Tuscany: near Siena to the southeast, and that's how Sergio Soldano's "Black" Cologne smells like. Fragrance 8/10, Longevity 7/10, Sillage 7/10, Flacon 5/10

Yellow and Green in Black! A very unique citrusy-green-mossy stuff, with a camphoric fresh upnote. Absolutely NOT outdated! Dry uplifting men-scent for all year but rather for sporty and casual. Big like! Best out of the three Soldano's.

I am huge fan of old school frags, and own and enjoy a collection of 100 plus bottles from different era, mostly 70ies and 80ies. Now, Soldano has been on my wish list for a long time and when it came yesterday I was expecting deep, rich, mossy, green, leathery, fragrance. Well, it is nothing above. On the bottom of my box it is written Made by Fine Fragrance, that is now the parent company. So, what do I get? Harsh lemon, grapefruit opening, like really, really harsh, bitter lemon, there is no dept, no backbone, just very, very strong, I would say, lemon peel and then some smoke, like grilled lemon or smoked lemon. I know it sounds strange, but it smells like gin tonic in a way. Maybe it will grow on me. Edit: After a full Day of wearing this is really close to Dunhill Edition. So far so good. Fine Fragrance indeed. It is dry, very dry. Like dry gin. Edit: Second Day and... Wow! Just wow!!!! That beautiful zesty, lemon and gapefruit and arthemisia in your face is so fresh, so masculine, I could bath all Day in this masculine black lemonade. In execution very similar to Dunhill Edition and Zirh Ikon, because of that beautifull sour lemon, grapefruit mix with dusty vetiver. Perfection, Thank you Chris The Scent Land.

First of all i want to say danke schon to Chris from the Scentland youtube chanel because if it wasnt for him i would never discover this fragrance. Now about the fragrance, i honestly see it more as a fougère then a chypre. From the very first snif i realise i had smell this before just couldnt know what it was then today when i woke up i finally remembered: Jaguar for men (1988). According to fragrantica they share 14 notes 13 of then in the same stage of the pyramide, only lavender jaguar as immediate on the top and soldano in the mid. They are both 80s trademarks but Soldano came 3 years before which makes me believe either the Jaguar for men was inspired by the italian fragrance or at this decade was impossible to create perfumes for men without most of this ingredients. ANYHOW, they are both great, for the 80s lover, for men that dont give a dam if they smell dated. This is for the confident man that dont give a shit about what other may think. Maybe just one thing: if u own one probably you dont have to buy the other however as they are both really affordable, why not? Cheers from Portugal!
