Wild Elixir

My oh my...! I should have known if anyone would signature the perfect Middle-Eastern/Oriental with a modern day twist it would be the lovely Shakira. Received my 2.7 blind buy yesterday and am in love! All day long I have racked my brain for what this scent reminds me of and have had trouble tagging it. Then it hit me. Shakira has created the ultimate bohemian/hippie/gypsy perfume! It is only slightly sweet compared to most young celeb designer frags, no candy here but perfectly sweet without overly ripe, heady but soft, a bit spicy, fruity, woody with a big splash of fine quality dark patchouli. This 'chouli is NOT the sometimes cheap and sickening head shop 'chouli of yesteryear and now. It is of rich, deep, very fine quality blended so masterfully with the other ingredients at times it seems to not be there, though it is very present and absolutely beautiful. I think most people who fear patchouli do so because they have only experienced cheap quality. My pure essential dark oil is intoxicating, and the best is used in Wild Elixir. Shakira has managed to put a modern twist to some of the best of old world ingredients to make a rich hippie/beatnik, romantic, poetic, nomadic, earth lover's frag! Yay! *does the hippie shuffle* Now.. Do not fear. If you are not that type or my description does not fit your personal style here lies the genius of Shakira Wild Elixir - It is not in-your-face and the modern vibe going on here makes this fragrance suitable for anyone who happens to love a very gorgeous and perfect blend of the ingredients above. I do consider this to be a true orential, which most fumes in that category will often have a middle-eastern feel. It is well-rounded; nothing too sharp, sweet, sour, synthetic or cheap smelling about this scent, and it possesses the expensive quality of the famous houses. I know because I own a few and my faves are orientals. I see/smell this masterpiece as perfectly suited for the woman who loves long, flowing, silk and gauzy bohemian wear with lots of ethnic jewelry. I also imagine smelling this on any age woman sitting behind a desk in conservative office attire just smelling absolutely, scrumptiously beautiful and expensive. Shakira has married 60's San Francisco and an old world mid-eastern flair with today's world and done an exquisite job. How I thank her! If I were the type to settle into a signature scent this would be it as it fits my taste so well. I cannot do that for my love of too many but I will reach for this one very often. (Note - I wore this today and it was hot outside. Maybe my rebellious spirit rules, but I do not follow the dictates of "summer" or "winter" perfume. I wear what I want when in the mood. The disabled man I take care of loved this one. He is my truth teller I always run my new scents by even before my husband. "THAT one... smells REALLY good!" he said with his gigantic, happy grin. I already knew this Wild Elixir is different than almost all recent celeb perfumes. All he did was affirm that.) Beautiful! Wow.. what can I say about this perfume.. I think it would definitely hit the 'celebrity perfumes' stereotype right out of the park! This smells incredibly well made and gives me different notes with every dab! The accords, all of them are exactly what you get from this perfume. I get sweet and spicy but not intimidatingly spicy and kind on those who have not yet indulged in oriental perfumes. The peach, orange blossom and sandalwood are the dominant notes for me. and the rest of the notes come out and play every once in a while especially the currant and the cedar. I don't really detect any dirty patchouli in there. The drydown is just oh! You can smell the rose, black currant and peach and becomes slightly powdery. It lasts quite abit and is a close to the skin scent for me but I like it that way. It is definitely a night fragrance that can be worn summer and winter. This is the kind of perfume where you'd nver guess that it has been done by/for a celeb it smells expensive! It looks and feels like the bottle it is in ;)

so so so great perfumes from my forever diva shakira, this smell so mature scent but still in comfort zone not to older perfect for age range between 21 to 35 maybe, great first spray so balsamic and freshy , then comes out with so lovely flowery smell after one hour on me to use, and at last its masterpieces that the smooth soft elegant vibrant but with little sexyness and naughty in it comes in sandalwood and patchouli, also great bottle remings me of oil lamp in middle desert, so amazing base notes, if you like some woody fresh with little flower in it nd warm calm ending feeling, this one is the answer, check it out. this is my signature fragrances all of the time now, so love with no doubt or regret on it, perfect for woman and also man, especially man that boring with same things in man fragrances, this one can helps you out, rate 10/10, perfect for night time casual nd any occasion, love love love repurchase for it again soon <3

This is yummy 😋. I'm not a fan of patchouli at all but in this cold weather this is sweet and peachy, the patch just adds oomph to it making it sexy. This, in my opinion, is one of the best peach scents ever! A couple years ago when searching for this the prices were outrageous! They're back down to like 13$ usd for a 2.7 so grab it while it's cheap before word spreads on its yumminess again and the prices skyrocket... I'm thinking of getting another bottle. But by the time I'm on to my back up I'm usually over the fragrance all together so I don't know? It is good though even for a patch hater like myself. If you enjoyed the sweet patch in Jenna Jameson's heartbreaker you might like this too cuz it's so similar just instead of a berry sweet that's in heartbreaker it's a peachy sweet in wild elixir. It's good stuff 😉

This is the perfume that I always wear during the hardest times of my life. It's just a coincidence because when I started wearing it I was going through some tough stuff and it was the only perfume I had at that time. So whenever it gets difficult, I put Shakira's Wild Elixir on and I feel a lot more confident about myself and a lot stronger. And it is a strong scent, I guess it's not only me who feels that it gives you the confidence that you need. Thank you Shakira for making this gem!

This is such a warm and cosy and interesting perfume! Love it!

This one is very fruity but mature. it smells like an exotic iced tea, very different from other fruity scents which are normally very citric or tropical. The fruit notes are really good made,they smell so natural.I get mostly peach, with a hint of orange and bergamot. I can also smell the rose and the patchouli, notes that i normally don ́t like, but they don ́t ruin this perfume for me, they are very well behaved here. People say that celebrities don ́t bring anything original to the markt but this one is really special. I haven ́t smelled anything like this and i have smelled a lot of fragrances so far. It is luxurious,feminine, elegant. really like an elixir (but wild it is not). it has personality without having to be aggressive. This is much better than the original Elixir, that i found quite "meh". I am surprised that this one does not have more fans. Maybe it is because it ́s not an everyday fume? I like it but i really just use it on winter, near xmas. i really can ́t picture wearing it in other occasions because it is so sultry. But when my bottle is empty i will repurchase it anyway. I also have the body lotion and it ́s also great. Note:9/10

A celebrity perfume that doesn't smell like a celebrity perfume. No toothache inducing sweetness, no childish candied fruits. Like the reviewer before me said, it could pass for a designer scent for sure. I've had it for years and people are always surprised to hear it's a Shakira scent! Sexy, smoky and oriental. I'm surprised there's not many spices here, and I definitely did not expect all the fruits. Other than the peach, you can't really smell the other ones. I can definitely feel the sandalwood and patchouli with a hint of peach. It smells like middle eastern markets in the summer, when the smell of fresh, juicy fruits and dry, intriguing spices mix in the air. It's more summery than wintery to me. Longevity and sillage are impressive. A great perfume that's very affordable and more unique than one would expect.

Underrated gem that was suggested to me by my lady friend at the local discount perfume shop. I got the big tester for a fraction of the price after testing it a couple of weeks ago. This is some strong stuff that could be under a designer name for sure. This scent has the quality and the vibe of a Dior. To me its more like a chypre fruty than an oriental. Its an intoxicating mix of sandalwood, blood orange, patchouly and some deep dark peach mixed with the berries. Its just a very modern approach to classics I love like Femme Rochas and this sort of smoky fruity sexy juices. I know a lot of people will read this and think "you are a Shakira stan, this cant be that good". Believe me, this is good, this is something else, and for the price? A must buy!

A nice fruity, orangey, sandalwoody amber. A hint more wood than the original (a welcome scent for me). Not your average celeb perfume, for sure. It's classier, easier to wear in many situations, can go day-to-night very well. It's pretty nice, just nothing especially unique or amazing either - well, it is for a celeb fragrance but not for a fragrance in general. However, considering the price now of your Boss Womans, Versaces, Jimmy Choos etc. you're better off getting this, which is the same quality at a fraction of the price.

Clearly my chemistry has something against any perfume from Shakira....I really hoped to come across one that would work on me....and this was the last one. Sigh.....Nothing warm or musky. Just chemical and cheap. I haven't tried to wash it off yet because I am hoping for one of two things: that it will morph into something wonderful like the other reviewers are getting, or that it will fade as the most common complaint seems to be that it doesn't last long. Most of her others had little staying power...so...here's hoping.

im not an expert on describing scents but for me the citrus/fruity notes goes really fast (30 min) and whats left its a nice powdery scent, its not bad, just like cozy and personal smell, nothing that would make a person intriged by your perfume. Reminds me of my mom since she smells powdery to sleep which i think its pretty nice, so a bed scent in resume for me, or if your job doesnt let you with more notizable scents, this is nice woody / powdery scent that last 6 hours or so. i will no repurshase this

Elixir is the Summer, Elixir Wild is the Winter. Elixir Wild has the same Diorish vibe as Elixir (thanks to patchouli, orange blossom and sandalwood mix) , but it's much more deeper, a bit masculine, more serious than Elixir. More sandalwood and more orange blossom. I like it even better than Elixir. Heavier, deeper, thicker.

This perfume is amazing!! I really like it!!

To me this is like a younger juicier version of the slightly mature Jil Sander No. 4, with DNA of Dior/Chanel classics mixed in. The peach note in here is prominent from top to base and is very fresh and juicy; not anything like the jam or baked pie type of vibe people seem to get from Chopard’s Cašmir, but more like the peach in ZARA’s Gourmand Addict. I was expecting this to be a little spicier, maybe even deeper, darker or just wilder, based on other reviews and the vibe you get from the bottle and commercial. The patchouli is definitely not heavy or dirty. Overall, on my skin this is fresh peach on a sophisticated smoky woody base. Not a typical warm and cozy winter scent, but rather a classy all-year-round one.

I blind bought this scent because i read a review that its similar to Palazzo Fendi edp. Well, it's not much similar. It is sweet scent with a nice, latin wibe. For summery nights. I enjoyed it for a while and sold after some time. It was ok.

When I sprayed it on a paper strip,I liked it so tried it on my skin.It's opening was very fruity but in a spicy,mature and non-sugary way.I could easily detect blackcurrent,tangerine and spicy peach which blended very nicely with florals.it was warm and strong and I thought that I've found a very good mature celebrity fragrance Thanks god I didn't buy it instantly and gave it some time to drydown.it's drydown is all about woods.I don't love fruitchoulis but I can get along with them if they're nicely done but in wild elixir there's also cedar and more than this,a very dominant sandalwood I don't like woody fragrances.sandalwood was one of my exceptions but lately I've begun to dislike it.so wild elixir was a no-no for me Although I dislike it,I believe it's a very good fragrance.if you like a sandalwood dominant fruitchouli,don't miss it.it's almost longlasting and has a good sillage and is a good budget friendly fruity woody scent

I always new oriental scents are not for me, but I bought this perfume because I kinda liked it in the shop. However once I started wearing it everyday I immediately started to dislike it. For me, this also smells a bit cheap, which is not what I expected, it is also too strong, I prefer more subtle perfumes, so maybe it's more just a mismatch than the perfume's fault.

I love all these notes but hate this perfume. Shows above that the wood and fruit are supposed to be stars of the show, and typically I love fragrances like that, they're my favorite but to me this was disgustingly floral. Turned out to be a scrubber. Instant headache. Smells like a grandmother whose fragrance went off. 😔

Shakira's Elixir fragrances don't get enough credit if you ask me. This and the original are so high quality for the price I paid for them (£8.99) its a steal. Both are warm ambery scents but this one has a bit more of a spicy depth that I cant help but love, its a sweet opening but not your typical celebrity sugar blast its a lovely warm peach that makes me think of a lovely autumn afternoon when the sun is shining through the orange trees. It then turns into a warmer spicier heart which reminds me of Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur which IMO is the best celeb frag ever made. So maybe that's why I love this one too as its not identical just has a similar way of portraying itself on my skin. Lasting power is good too i get about 5-6 hours wear and projection depends on how many times you spray it, it can either be subtle and create a sensual trail behind you or it can fill a room. The aesthetic of the bottle is so beautiful and middle eastern its really well done and along with the designs on the box I think its a really cute! Overall its well worth the sniff and the risk for how cheap it is. if a designer house like Dior or Bvlgari had put this onto the marker people would have been going crazy and raving about these fragrances. It just shows how people are still snobby about celebrity perfume lines...

Beautiful and very exotic warm patchouli-fruity floral. I can pick up on all the notes but the citrus and cassis stand out, like a wine. It has a lovely dark rose spiced up with patchouli and incense. It's Oriental for a celebrity perfume and that's why I love it. A dry down of pure sandalwood. Mysterious, delicious, seductive, something to wear on a date to make a good impression or to dance the night away in clubs.

Went fragrance sampling today and since "Wild Elixir" is reasonably priced I took a whiff. Hmm, I got the fruit notes immediately, it came off plummy on my skin, but the alcoholic agent blinded my nose to anything else. I think "Rock" is a stronger scent. So its a composed fruity scent and then half an hour later I can't discern much but a faint clean dry down. What can I say, this elixir has no claws.

On my skin this was a real morpher from the inital few minutes to the drydown: first thought, "Grape soda!" or Juicy's Couture Couture. I guess that'll be the black currant. Then is became predominately peach withe the smoothness of sandalwood, and a light sprinkling of orange blossom/rose. Very interesting, I like it a lot but will sample more to see how longevity etc is.

Although I don't have much experience with celebrity perfumes, this one I find quite interesting. It is sweet, warm and spicy, quite a strong sillage actually. It definitely works well with my skin - the woody notes stand out and blend very nicely with sweet fruity notes and spices. Also - lasts longer than I expected.

This is quite different than the original Elixir.I can't really pick out any of the notes,it just blends together nicely,into something warm,spicy,and smooth. This is a colder weather fragrance. Everything about this frag. is gold. The gold bottle and gold juice matches the frag. perfectly. This is the elixir,deluxe.

This is a unique one, I really like it. Deep and fruity but not at all sweet, unlike other celebrity frags (obviously), which interested me right away. Too bad it fades away after 5 minutes on my skin. Still good.

Not bad per se, but too sweet. I like that it has something smoky and woody, but the peach is too jammy and sweet instead of juicy as I prefer. Not for me, but good value for the price if you enjoy it.

OOOHHH I love the original so much..! I am hoping this is the heavier version that lasts longer!!! I cant wait till I can get my hands on this!!!

This is a ambery fragrance but i get like a grape scent to this too. It smells like the original. Weak in nature.

Very nice, has an exclusive Dior-like feeling to it. Beautiful bottle and package as well :)
