Amorem Rose

I’ve been sniffing a lot of perfumes for a really long time, thousands at this point, and I own hundreds. And I have to say that one sniff of Amorem Rose and I knew I had found something special. This perfume is so good that it led to me being immediately and completely obsessed with everything by Shalini. I had avoided even trying anything by Shalini for the longest because of the cost. They ain’t cheap. But with Maurice Roucel being one of my favorite perfumers of all time, it was hard to stay away forever I guess. So back to Amorem Rose. We hear very often about “high quality materials” but a lot of that is just marketing or trickery. Sometimes you find really good materials but they may not be composed with exceptional skill. It’s actually hard to find high quality natural materials composed by a master perfumer. Then something like Amorem Rose finds it way under your nostrils. One of the world’s greatest perfumers using the finest of natural materials in very high quantities. Imagine the guy who created the original Helmut Lang creating its much more elegant rose based cousin. Amorem Rose doesn’t smell like Helmut Lang but that unmistakable Roucel DNA and the texture and feel of HL is there. Imagine removing the lavender and replacing it with rose and saffron and shifting things around a bit and smoothing it out like silk...and to me that is Amorem Rose. It’s sort of like a supreme quality East meets barbershop that’s warm and elegant and everything you ever dreamed of pretty much. It’s truly a jaw dropper....and it’s not even the best perfume in the line lol. Well, maybe it is, it’s hard to say because they are each equally as good as the others and the “good” here is what every connoisseur of the best perfumes hopes to find. And I bought all my bottles. I’m not waxing poetic because something was given to me. I bought ‘em. And I’m gonna buy all of them lol.

Opens with a blast of mahogany and amber on my skin. Then a powerful saffron spice rears its head swirling around a rich deep thick opulently plush rose centered heart. This generous dollop of saffron adds spicy interest and gives this rose a subtle twist of shadowy, thorny ferocity without actually making it dirty or overtly animalic. Mellow warm amber and mahogany glow like cozy fire embers slowly dying around singed bloody red rose petals. Just a touch of natural sweetness derived from the high quality rose element itself. I agree totally with GenevaX's statement that the simplicity of the notes is deceptive. Unisex but masculine leaning. This is a tantalizing bittersweet masterpiece.

A beautiful contradiction of a scent, Amorem Rose is actually an ambery wood with a slight touch of rose. The perfume contains only four beautiful natural notes but the dominant one is a lovely mahogany and amber, with the rose and the saffron lurking beautifully in the background. The overall effect is that of Maharajas throne whose cushions are kept perfumed everyday with rose water. This is a majestic regal scent whose beauty lies in its utter simplicity and high quality of the natural ingredients used. Moderate to strong sillage and projection, long lasting and unisex leaning slight feminine. Elegant, refined modern Oriental perfumery. Enjoy!

This is quite a beautiful and complex fragrance. The rose is noticeable but not prominent. This is far from being a soliflore. I smell a lot more going on than the notes listed. When I was wearing it I noticed three main threads - a soft candied rose, a fresh green aspect and some kind of woody/resinous aspect. It's all blended together beautifully and gives an overall impression of something soft, uplifting, sweet and faintly rose-y and powdery like a really, really nice face cream. The sillage was quite soft though the longevity was good. A supremely wearable, comforting fragrance.

Amorem Rose is one of the most incredible perfumes I've ever tried and worn in my life. When I sniffed it, I got goosebumps and felt like crying. It was like receiving a hug from a great matriach, it was my own feminine spirit, my anima calling out to me. Chapeau to the master Maurice Roucel. I fear that my journey for 'my' perfume has come to an end and that there isn't a perfume greater to my heart than this.

The simplicity of the notes is deceptive. The ingredients are of incredibly high quality, so each element has all of the natural and complex facets of the raw materials. Amorem Rose is rosy, woody, smokey and warm, and spicy. It's faintly animalic, maybe due to the saffron note - I'm not sure. It's mature and elegant, and it has so much depth and interest. This is real perfume sorcery. I adore it.

Amorem Rose was launched in 2018, bringing the rose as the main ingredient in the composition, which is considered the queen of flowers, the symbol of feminine love. The creative concept brings Pablo Neruda's Sonnet XVII as the scene for a fragrance that was composed to serve as a poem, an ode to the greatest love stories. Amorem Rose is the third fragrance of Shalini and, as happened in previous ones, the perfumer in charge was Maurice Roucel. To give life to this creation, he used notes of Damask rose, saffron flowers, Baltic amber, and mahogany wood. The fragrance is sold as Parfum and also has - as in previous releases - a limited edition in Lalique crystal bottles, called "Les Hirondelles", which means The Swallows, in English. Amorem Rose flees from the ordinary and brings a rose covered with smoke, which is revealed little by little and confers an air of mystery. It has a style of its own, reminiscent of the fragrances of the East, but without the strong smell of the rose's attar, which is almost metallic and is often very evident in this type of composition, especially when combined with saffron. On the skin, the heat of the saffron arrives first, followed by the resinous sensuality of the amber and then, the rose begins to reveal itself, silky and smooth. During the evolution, some nuances of this amber appear, from the labdanum to the vanilla. At a certain point, the wood appears and gives a denser and an even more unisex aspect to the fragrance. More than floral, Amorem Rose reveals itself as an oriental scent, which is easily shareable. It is a beautiful interpretation of the rose, in which the quality of the raw materials is easily noticed, although it is not a fragrance of high projection or trace, despite having long durability. For me, Amorem Rose is like a gift of love, in which a box of pure mahogany, which has been varnished with perfumed resins, holds the most beautiful rose, placed on a golden satin background and surrounded by flowers of saffron inside. Whenever the lid is opened, a strong perfume emerges. It's Amorem Rose!

Don’t even think of buying this perfume or any from this house they have the WORST customer services ever. My fragrance got damaged after 8 months. The rubber band got out of the spray it evaporated also has some white particles I am collecting fragrances since I am 14 years old. I have fragrances from $80 to $1200 or even more. I have fragrances that are from 1970/80 and they are still perfect. I store them in a dark room with AC on all day no direct sunlight l. I asked for a customer services on IG they blocked me. They don’t answer my text on IG or even answer my emails. Terrible house so bad for a great perfumer to end up with this terrible people.

I did buy a bottle (the 7.5 ml one). I don't buy such expensive fragrances, I dont think it's worth it. But it was one of these days.... It is an amber. A beautiful amber with some spice from saffron. An airy amber, sometimes salty. A hint of rose keeps it from being dry. Very subtle, not a ''rosy'' rose. Warm and airy scent at the same time. It is beautiful. Very versatile, very easy to wear. Duration and projection are huge. With two sprays, I can smell this gentle amber the whole day.
