A letter to an all but forgotten fragrance: Shania, i miss you. I really, really miss you. You still sit on my vanity untouched because i'm just so afraid to use you because i never want to be without you. You were my "first love" in a sense, you introduced me to a world that i never thought existed. You changed my opinion on florals, you broke down the walls i had up about certain smells and opened my mind to scents outside of my comfort zone. Many scents have tried to replicate your beauty, but none have succeeded. Viva La Juicy Rose got close, but there is still something so incredibly unique about your DNA. I have loved many fragrances, but you will never be replaced by any other. Every time i smell you, it takes me back to those early middle school mornings when i would run across the street to the walmart next to my school and douse myself with your tester because i couldn't yet afford you. When i finally saved up enough by seventh grade to buy you, you sat proudly and openly on my desk, way before a 'collection' was even thought of. You were shown off every chance that i got, and everyone around me had the pleasure to smell you. Years later, you still sit in my room with your half full bottle and remind me of a time when everything was simple. When i had no bills or car payments to worry about, when i could just be free and enjoy every second with you shooting the breeze. You remind me of a time when i was innocent, where everything that people would say affected me. You wore on me proudly and protected me before i had tough enough skin to protect myself from the world. It was you. You've been there since the beginning, and no matter how many people forget about you, i will never. You'll always be my "first", and i will never put any other before you. You may not get any usage, but that's only because i don't want you to be but a fossil. You may have passed, but with me, you will live forever Shania.

I love, love, love it, I have worn this scent since it came out, I am a 46 yr old tomboy at heart, not a girly girl at all BUT when I wear Shania I feel like a beautiful butterfly floating through a flower garden, and still can go hunting, mudding, whatever I want to do and it fits. It has become my "signature" scent which is great with me. My Mama is known by "Passion", my Aunt is known by "Wind Song". Its getting harder to find and I buy it up whenever I can, and it is the #1 present I get for birthdays, mothers day, Christmas, can never have too much lol. It has a sweet smell with a softness to it, sometimes a fruity accent comes across depending on my natural scent mixing with it. I dont care for the Twilight scent though, its too alcoholly to sharp, not my taste at all.

I actually really like this fragrance as a daytime, wear it to work kind of scent. I get complimented on it frequently when I wear it, although it's a huge departure from the chypre type scents I typically wear. It does have a "musty" rose smell to it, I will agree with some who have said that, but it's because it's prairie rose and not tea rose, or some rose absolute. I much prefer it though because it gives it an earthier, grounded smell rather than a hoity-toity rose smell. It smells like something I could wear hauling hay bails or out on a date to a county fair...definitely not a "sophisticated" fragrance, but more a girl-next-door scent. My husband likes it, so long as I don't spray so much he can taste it! LOL!

The cool thing about this perfume, is that it fits in EVERY occasion, time of the year, day/night, and everywhere you go.. I love this scent! I always get complimented when I ́m wearing it and I never get tired of the smell. It ́s definately one of my favourite perfumes!!

The rose and raspberry shine through with this perfume for me, a delightful light yet seductive scent perfect for summer dates. It lingers very well but is not too overpowering.

A very sexy perfume. One of the strongest notes is definitely the rose, which is beautiful. This is a perfect date night perfume. I wish this was still in production!

Why do people hate this? I LOVE IT! It is so sultry, and sexy. I am a 17 Year Old Guy, and this is one of my favorites!

I realize that this review will probably not be seen by anyone, but I feel like I need to write it anyway. I have had this perfume since it came out many years ago. It was a gift from my then small children to me for mothers day. To their simple noses it smelled pretty, like their mom. That is what this perfume is, a nice, simple reliable perfume that smells good to just about everyone and lasts. How can you go wrong? It took me a long time to put away my perfume snobbery and give it a fair shake, but when I finally did, I was very happy with it. This perfume taught me a lot about the psychology of perfume, and helped me to cut through all the baloney marketing and get to the realness of the perfume inside the bottle. It made me want to put every perfume in a plain bottle with no name and simply close my eyes and inhale, and judge based on scent alone. All too often we (me) have too many preconceived notions of what "good" perfume is, or that "cheap" perfume is bad, or that celebrity scents are unsophisticated. Shania helped me get past all that and really start appreciating perfume for the olfactory joy of it, not as any kind of status symbol. (even though I still love to see pretty bottles on my dressing table) I have to thank Shania for helping me in my perfume education, and for making a wonderful, nice, wearable perfume. 4/11/2025 I still love this perfume, and I definitely love Shania, she’s a legend.

I stumbled on the little sample bottle my grandma gave me when I was in high school in 2006ish - it was the first real perfume of my own (I'd worn a bit of my mom's before, I still have a huge soft spot for the aquatics she favors)...and also the way I discovered that a scent can be lovely in the bottle and AWFUL on your body chemistry. I spritzed it on generously, feeling so sophisticated in the cloud of rose and gentle, fruity sweetness that was such an improvement on the bath & body works scents. Several hours later when I was walking in the heat I suddenly smelled an awful, sour, musty odor coming off of me and assumed that maybe my camisole had gotten musty in the wash??? It took it happening again the next day for me to figure out it was the dry down on my beloved new perfume. ANYWAY. In the end it served me well - almost two decades later and I never buy a scent I can't try on my skin for a full day first. It's not at all the fault of what is really a lovely scent!

The first time I smelled this was in a magazine tester when I was way too young to be wearing perfume. Many years later I found a bottle at a thrift store (along with Baby Phat and Paris Hilton) and as soon as I smelled it, it took me back to when I was a tween obsessed with Shania Twain! I admit this scent does get overlooked in my collection but it is very lovely. To me this feels like I’m a cowgirl wandering in a field of flowers. It is a great summer scent.

I really like this perfume. It's so light and carefree. It's great for everyday things and running around, but also can make you feel sexy and confident. The staying power is pretty good and you can still smell it hours after you've put it on. Just a fun and flirty scent that is great for everyday use.

I have the roller ball in this scent. It's a very nice, light, feminine scent. I really enjoy the raspberry notes. Shania is fruity and sophisticated at the same time!

i wear this nearly everyday..which is saying something with my huge perfume collection! This is my go to!

I still have some and I like it. Not overpowering, good affordable spray that I still smell hours later.

If you are going for sexy cowgirl, this is it. It's sultry, playful, and earthy.

Rose freesia shampoo. After a couple hours it also has an earthy woody note. It’s really nice but the soapy shampoo scent is a little too much for my nose.

Have a tiny bottle thankfully only little one, and it's still full! This stuff is too strong and smells cheap! This one is not for me. Not sure what to do with the bottle so I just keep shuffling around, maybe I can give it to someone someday.lol Update: gave this cheap stuff away to my sister, she apparently likes the scent. I am so over buying the cheap celebrity scents. I'd rather have one very good quality perfume, (Chanel Coco M) then to collect 20 cheap celeb perfumes.

I bought this perfume "blind" over the internet and was a bit disappointed when I got it. It smells quite strongly of roses but it's a musty kind of smell and, strangely, at times it smelled a bit like pee (nice - not!). It's a bit of a strange perfume to me because it's not horrible smelling as such and, in its way, smells quite nice and of roses but there is that mustiness and vague pee-like smell which is off-putting to me!!

Upon repeated wearings and finding myself reaching for this one; I realize that I really like it. I've also been complimented on it, though it was mixed with Mark Earth from Avon at the time... It's just pretty and does the job, more like a body spray than a proper perfume. update: after a while, the raspberry just brought me down and has become a big no no note for me.

Not my cup of tea at all. I do not like many floral perfumes. They tend to remind me of that heavy, nasty floral air freshener/toilet bowl cleaner aroma one might find in a burger joint restroom. That very "old lady" meets 1970's perfume stench.

One of the first perfumes I ever owned. I always loved it when I first put it on... but after a while it kind of started to smell like beer/alcohol?! It would actually make me feel a little queasy. So sad!

Very flat floral. A boring cheap fragrance. Just what you would expect from a drugstore or supermarket. In this instance, you get what you pay for, or didn't pay for.

Nice floral green (not a pure floral as the olfactive group the perfume has been classified to) fragrance with a distinct litchi note only at the beginning (a bit like Miracle) and gentle florals. It is like a fresher echo of Arden Beauty. Fruit are not dominating here and the perfume will certainly make you love it for casual occassions; a shopping with friends or family visit :-) I must say that it is worth the price and does not smell cheap at all. I think it would be more suitable for winter or cool evenings. It leaves a nice feminine trail and is definitely noticeable. My husband likes it :-) Really recommended considering its daft price!

Such a humbling experience. Who would have thought this tiny little bottle would carry such amazing concoction. It is the best drugstore fragrance out there. Floral, fruity and powdery. It is long lasting and it just gets better by time. Very feminine, unlike so many fragrances out there that smell very masculine or sticky sweet. I love the price. Have so many of those expensive perfumes that are not even as nice and I don't wear them that often and I don't know what the hell to do with them all!!!!

this not my typical sent for sure. I"m more of a sweet fruity scent, like Britany spears fantasy and ed hardy original scent i think? every time i smell this scent it strongly brings back many good memories of growing up, and it one of the very few that do that for me. and it wasn't ever one of my very favorite perfumes at the time but now that beautiful smell brings back pleasant memories.

I have a miniature of this oh my goodness it lasts long throughout the whole day until I come to that stage I've had it.I can smell it on me imagine the people around me. It's a nice scent but the dry down is not to my taste. But a lovely suprise for a simple scent. I smell the freesia and honeysuckle more than the rose in this. What suprises me with this scent is it's longivity.

I just found a bottle of this at an antique and collectibles shop. I opened the lid before I purchased to smell the sprayer and said "very nice". I sprayed it on when I arrived at work and am loving it. The rose is very dominant on me. I smells like I imagined perfume might smell as a child. Wonderfully appealing.

Onset is bright citrus fruits and very generic, but dry down is a wonderful honeysuckle rose with a faint soft base of amber and musk. Amazingly pretty and fairly simple. Lasts pretty well, too, for a drugstore scent.

Very light, daytime use, while I did use this fragrance for a few years. I've outgrown it, the scent doesn't linger for any long periods of time. It was given to me for Christmas, box set.

Not crazy about this one - smells like watered down rosewater, with an afternote of stale beer. I guess it would be fine to wear to a pub...

This to me is one of the worst smelling perfumes that I have ever smelled! Its right up there with Poison by CD.

That bottle and packaging is so cheap... the epitome of $2 drug store fragrance.

This smelled like a dupe of Stella by Stella McCartney.
