Cuir Dose

This is nice. Thanks Maxaroma for the sample. This is reminiscent of African Leather (AF) where the spice calms the leather down, extends it out and makes it very palatable. This is one of only two fragrances with noticeable Jasmin, that I love. Jasmin is not my thing, but it works beautifully here with the leather and the spices. Jasmin and leather might be an undiscovered perfect pair, similar to rose and oud. The longevity extends the fragrance out past 7-8 hrs for me, and it doesn't become a skin scent until a few hours have passed. If you like African Leather, you will love this.

I got a 1.5 sample with a full bottle I got last night. This is such a sexy unisec laether scent. Its european leather. The saffron / jasmine mixes with the leather is such a gorgous way. This is not your typical leather coat / shoes / belt smelling leather, this is more like African leather with some spicy florals / woody musk base. It is not floral in a femm way. This is going to be a full bottle, I am at 6 hrs wearing it right now and this is absolutely gorg!!!

Even though it has "cuir" in the name and I'm a big fan of leather fragrances, in my opinion this one is more of a woody spicy perfume. In the opening you can smell something sweet and spicy, probably from the notes of saffron and pepper. After a while, however, a damp and earthy smell comes through, which makes you think you are in a forest and can smell the soil. A dry and dusty smell remains, probably from heliotrope and woods, but at the same time I could perceive something green which I could not associate with anything concrete.

I agree with the main accords listed on this page except for the citrus. That is very muted to me. This fragrance is very dry and earthy to me. Has that old, dusty library feel with lacquered oak floors and high stacks of papers that haven’t been sifted through in years.
