Blackberry Woods

This is a marvelous new creation from Shay and Blue. Of all the new fragrances I've tried this year, S&B's Blackberry Woods is by far my favorite. It scores very high in all categories, and I've received many compliments since I've been wearing it. BW is uplifting, sophisticated, clean, and exhilarating, yet never overpowering. Simply a delight to the senses. Now I must have the entire bottle. Hopefully they'll also produce a deodorant and bar soap in this line as well. Very well done, Shay and Blue! Blackberry Woods is a classic and a keeper!

This is a really, really nice eau de cologne. You will need to reapply throughout the day but you will love that; the opening is so refreshening. I consider this full bottle worthy. I agree with others that it is perfectly unisex and goes well in warm or cool weather. I detect no cypress, just ripe fruit and florals. A+.

Neroli is the most noticeable note, a deep sniff reveals the blackberry. I don’t get much wood but there is an aromatic green base note. To me the sweetness makes it feminine leaning. It is easy to like. I layered with BeautyWood from House of Matriarch. Really kicked up the “wood”, made the blackberry more noticeable

Interesting how on some people's skin, it comes off very fruity and sweet. Meanwhile on my skin, it starts off watery, fruity, sweet and tangy like a blackberry before turning a bit bitter and dryer in texture. This is when it develops into a true woody fragrance. Definitely green forward but in a dark, forest that's been freshly rained on, manner. It's a cold fragrance that has an edge to it. Perfect to pair with all black outfits or with a nice pair of jeans as it kind of smells like denim on my skin. The sweetness stays but lessens the more time passes by. It also gives off a clean musk scent. Dark and polished. Understated and silently confident. Cold yet comforting. Slightly reminiscent of therapeutic oils used in the air at spas or hotels. Truly unisex, a man would smell really nice with this on. A woman that stands on business would smell like this. Projection starts off arm's length for the first half hour to 45 minutes. Then stays at half an arm's length or less for the 2 hours I've had it on for so far. Seems it'll be a skin scent in the next hour or so so it's safe to say that this performs like a cologne. Which is fine since I don't need everything in my collection to be beast mode. I enjoy it.

I like this fragrance. It's very pleasant and not offensive. Blackberry is the strongest note that doesn't go away, cypress and petitgrain are hard to detect, they linger somewhere in the background. The combination makes this fragrance fruity but not overly sweet, there is a bit of pleasant freshness to it. I was surprised to learn that this is EDP because it wears more like EDT or even cologne. It's bright and colorful the first hour, fades within 2-3 hours, and is completely gone after 4-5. Pretty good as an everyday scent but I prefer fragrances with higher longevity.

That initial burst of blackberry is divine, but it doesn't last long. I get the woodiness right after. That's when it started to smell really familiar. Finally, it dawned on me that it smells very similar to Angel Nova, a favorite of mine. I like BW, but it doesn't last too long on me, unlike AN, which lasts for hours. This isn't full bottle worthy for me.

I agree with most of these reviews. It a sweet slightly woody floral. Perfect for summer. Fruity without being obnoxious or juvenile. Sweet without being cloying. It has a short longevity, so you will respray, but it's perfect for daytime. Nice for vacation. I would go for something more intense for night.

Perfect for autumn ... memories of collecting juicy blackberries from the hedges around where I used to live. The ones available in the shops totally lack fragrance - such a shame I cannot use this perfume on them. Be great if Imaginary Authors/Salt and Straw could do a blackberry 'culinary perfume' :)

This is an extremely sweet, berry-centered scent. I think it leans very juvenile, but not in an unpleasant or overpowering way. Makes me remember giddy nights getting ready for high school dances. It's fresh, it's fun, it's pretty synthetic

A lovely scent! I always enjoy wearing this fragrance; it lasts well on my skin and I enjoy the fruity notes regularly wafting around me. It works all year round but, for me, it's a daytime scent. One of my permanent Shay & Blue perfumes!

This is nice! The berry is rather sweet but the woods keep it grounded. It's fresh without being aquatic. Perfectly unisex. Review of official 10mL travel spray purchased directly from Shay & Blue.

Opens up with a Blackberry/Blueberry note which quickly disappears, the dry down is very woodsy and floral. It's pleasant but I doubt I will purchase a full size bottle anytime soon.

I don’t love the blackberry note in this; it’s too sweet, without balance. I wish I got more of the neroli and petitgrain to offset the sweetness and make this more unisex. As is, this is pretty feminine-leaning. The cypress does help ground it a bit, but lacks depth. The fragrance overall is pretty one-dimensional; it seems better suited for a body wash than as a personal fragrance.

I was excited to try this scent as I love the smell/taste of blackberries and feel that it is an overlooked member of the berry family. Upon first spray you do get blackberry, but not in an overtly juicy way. It actually smells a little medicinal to start with but gradually sweetens a little. The cypress note is apparent giving it a slightly masculine feel. The scent doesn't really develop much and stays quite linear. It's the olfactory equivalent of walking past blackberry bushes on a cold wintery day in the woods. It's quite a stripped back scent and good for those who aren't in to very 'busy' fragrances. However, I personally find it a bit cold and stark. I think this perfume would be a good fit for someone out there but it isn't me unfortunately.

On me this starts out very fruity (not necessary blackberry) but jammy fruits and I also get rose. I like the opening. But pretty quickly after it opens I start to get synthetics--ambroxan, and then Iso E Super giving a woody effect. I still get the fruits, but it becomes more tart. I'm not a fan of ambroxan and Iso E Super so this is a pass for me, but if you don't mind those molecules then you may really like this. I don't get any aromatic notes at all in this.

I thought I liked this one, but every time I wore it I got the worst headache ever. Smells very generic. I like the blackberry note

There is a sweet tartness in the opening Of the blackberry fruit mixed with something I cannot pin down... Not woody, grassy but really fresh and outdoorsy. It then settles into a lovely fruity floral for myself. It’s definitely a more refined fruity fragrance as opposed to the young cheap fruity scents. This to me is quite a classy fragrance which I love wearing fir daytime or work. I have received man6 compliments and the initial projection is good and lasts 4-5 hrs. I can smell on the seatbelt and clothes in the laundry the following day so it definitely lingers. A definite new favourite from Shay and Blue fragrance House

this smelled like strictly just alcohol on my skin for like 15 minutes tbh. after drying, i do like it. smells like fresh, dewy blackberries with a dry sort of bitterness. it feels very cold and woody as well. has a nice sweetness, but not too strong. i know some people say its a summer scent but it feels very wintery to me. simple, but still interesting and would be nice as a base layer with something woodier for a more masculine leaning scent or something more fruity/floral for more feminine.

The first one from Shay & Blue I haven’t really liked. Its smells like a “fruity floral” to me - my least favorite fragrance genre! It’s young and fresh and a bit cheap smelling to me. I got a 10 ml as part of a set but won’t be buying a full bottle. I guess it’s not aimed at me, an old man of 60, but some may love it!!

Goes on a touch perfume-y, bur still very lovely; I get blackberries, tart leaf notes and cedar. The wood could get too sharp on me, but it dries down to sweet berries and cedar chest. Doesn’t last at all though. It's just too thin and sheer for a full bottle purchase. It wears more like a body splash than a perfume.

When is this fragrance actually going to be available? It says it came out in 2019 but I spoke with the Shay & Blue customer service and they said they hope to have it out soon, so it's still not available. I wonder why... Sounds like it's right in my wheelhouse

It’s very simple, but pleasant. You can distinctively feel the blueberry. Don’t know if it worth getting a full bottle.

This is such a lovely scent, but unfortunately it is a bit weak. It lasts longer on clothes, but not by much.

I hate to say but this smells cheap and not very good, sorry.
