Dandelion Fig

I’d have to agree with akawanis. Fantastic scent and pleasantly surprised on how good this smells. Not huge sillage or beast mode performance but very well done.

Sadly, there is no fig in this potion. (I love figgy perfumes!) It is fig LEAF. There is bitter floral of dandelion, the glass house warmth of tomato leaf...and fig leaf. I don't in all honesty get the lemongrass or juniper: neither registering with my nose anytime I've given this an airing. Reminds me of a wonderful greenhouse my uncle and aunt had at their home in Pickering in the Vale of York. My uncle grew copious quantities of fruit and vegetables in his sizeable garden – the soil being as fine and fertile as anywhere in the country. But, wondering around his century-old large south-west facing lean-to greenhouse and all the cold frames was a real treat. Tomatoes, cucumbers, marrows, peaches, house plants, cacti, herbs all jostling for air and light, thriving in the warmth. The mixed aroma of composted soil, grow bags and the sheer variety of plants growing there is still unforgettable forty years on. Shay & Blue Dandelion Fig reminds me of it all. How does it work as a perfume? I think it works well. Novel and unusual for sure. Linear. Unisex. Definitely worth investigating if you are pursuing an alternative to 'regular perfumery'. Ever so slightly eccentric in a British way? ___________________________ For someone who has petitioned against vivisection, the ethics of Shay & Blue is a powerful draw. Animals are sentient, dignified and intelligent. Not being able to speak for themselves, it is incumbent upon us to speak for them.

I wasnt sure what to expect with this. Im very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is a bright herbally delight but its backed with figgy sweetness although not overly sweet. They compliment each other beautifully. Ive just been planting out my tomato plants so I soon detected the distinctive tomato leaf. I have more dandelions sprouting up around my garden than I care to admit to so I am very familiar with the bitter dandelion smell. It is present but not too much. The lemon grass note is strong but here is has been used with a light hand. The herbs combine to create a herbally freshness. Fig leaf is not sweet so I am perplexed as to the source of sweetness. Yes, I also grow figs! The juniper also provides a bit of edge so it never gets too sweet. This a fragrance best suited to warm conditions. Definitely unisex. Moderate sillage and longevity.

This is the first fragrance I’ve tried where the tomato leaf works on me. I LOVE the smell of fresh tomato leaves and have been disappointed every time I’ve tried a fragrance with a tomato leaf note, until now. The tomato leaf is prominent from the opening, but not domineering. It’s balanced well with a photorealistic dandelion that I’m loving. Aromatic and vegetal fragrances don’t always work well with my body chemistry, but I’m really really pleased with this one. As others have said, there really isn’t a perceptible fig smell. I’m a fig fanatic, but I’m not mad at the lack of fig here; the fragrance is a lovely summer vegetable garden, it really doesn’t need the fig.

Vegetal, Green, Citrusy This fragrance is all dandelion and tomato leaf. I could almost taste the bitter dandelion leaves. I really liked this one, but I am fan of vegetal spicy fresh green fragrances. I think it veered just slightly sharper than I prefer due to all the green notes in this one. I would of liked a hint of sweet, or milk, or even petrichor to balance some of the greenness in it and make it worth purchasing for me.

very fresh, herbaceous, strong with tomato leaf and a very slight fig leaf note. it took me a couple of wears, but i am happy to say it fits perfectly with spring/summer. for people who are looking for fig/fig leaf, this one is not strong with the note, perhaps try something else. 7.6/10

- Gosh I love this aromatic delight. It smells green, aromatic, a little sweet, and woody. Very well blended. I smell the lemongrass in the opening and I can smell tomato vine and the bitter dandelion. It really smells like a summer vegetable garden. I like this fragrance a lot.

Love bright, green scents like this. My tomato garden is ripening and just smelling it on my sleeves makes me a happy person. It has aquatic qualities to it which makes it great to wear through summer. I'll spend a little more time with it to see if I want a full bottle of it.

Tomato leaf salad with dandelion croutons

Unfortunately, this is feminine leaning. It is light and clean on the skin with minimal projection. It is much stronger on fabric, but not loud or beastly. In fact, it took a significant amount of application to get the scent level where I wanted it. I imagine the person wearing this to be a mature intellectual and somewhat eclectic lady. The smell is of the Lady’s small and meticulously curated private garden, mid-morning after a light overnight rain. This garden has a variety of florals and herbs, and even dandelions sprouting up unabated in the various stone cracks and crannies. There is ivy and small stone statues for decoration. For the right person to find it, there is much joy in this fragrance. The majority of men would probably give this to a lady, rather than keep it for themselves.

Veeeeery vegetal! Absolutely no sweetness in this, it is pure green tomato leaf with a melange of other veggie scents supporting it. I love tomato leaf, but I need something fruity or floral to soften it. On its own, this was too sharp for me. I ended up mixing it with Philosykos (the sweeter EDT version) to give me that creamy fig note I was hoping for. This smells nearly identical to Corsica Furiosa, so I did a side-by-side test of the two. This lasts about three hours longer and is a little more harsh and bitter. Otherwise though, if you like one, you'll like the other.

This is pretty straightforward green perfume that doesn’t particularly excite me. I don’t detect any dandelions, but I do get the green fig. The tomato leaf note is interesting and refreshing. It is quite consistently fresh, even during dry down. I get limited silage or longevity on this. Uncomplicated and easy on the nose otherwise. It’s unlikely anyone is going to follow you down the street if you are wearing this, but no one will hate you if they sit next to you at work, either.

To my nose, this smells like celery. Which is quite a nice peppery green smell, its almost sharply fresh. This is what ELDO 'You or someone like you' wishes it smelled like (not cat piss). A true vegetable garden vibe. My BF did not like this on me but I didn't mind it. Not strictly to my taste but I always enjoy an impressively realistic green smell.

Aromatic, vegetal and a little soapy. Tomato leaf and dandelion but has no business calling itself a fig or fig leaf scent.

Opens with fresh celery and soft dandelion, but quickly dominated by soapy warm wood/patchouli. Radiates even more with time. Dry down is musty with the green note building backbone. More spiced wood than bright/fresh. Dominating soap ruins it for me, even though the mature streak is quite adorable and works for a classy, nature/hippy gal. Finishes with an elevated green patchouli that projects more than most.

I perceive this as a fresh floral scent, with notes of fig - the sort commonly used in perfumes, with some a floral component that has a vague citric element to it. The opening is an invigorating fruity-floral accord, half-way between dry and juicy; there is a green element that is sustained throughout. The dry-down is soft, with a hint of woods, but mostly the fig accord from the initial phases. It's not complex such as Philosykos, but rather a bright, preppy, clean, fresh, and upbeat scent. What I like here is that the initial / mid accords are lovely and appealing, while the dry down is not synthetic; definitely a cut above most designers - though this isn't a 'designer' brand, but compares in price. Quite decent longevity with reasonable sillage - I get intermittent whiffs of it when wearing it outside on a hot day. I can see this working well on anyone, though perhaps it is a bit too much of a 'seasonal' scent. An uncomplicated and uplifting perfume to have for late spring and early summer. 3.5/5 (thumbs up)

A very fresh fragrance that evokes early spring. Realistic dandelion; strong green tomato leaf and almost acidic greenery and a little citrus. Fully unisex, and it is a bit of an oddball! Longevity on me is maybe 4 hours at the upper limit, but I have to be in a specific mood to wear this, so I’m okay with it not lasting all day. If you are looking for fig, keep looking- Philosykos is probably my all time favourite fragrance... but I detect NO specific fig notes here- though plenty of more generic green leafy notes.

Eh. Kinda. Not nearly what I had hoped for. I don’t get any of the listed notes except some gummy fig at the back. It’s mostly green wood, some harsh wood, a weird note that almost but isn’t quite dandelion milk, and some synthetic notes that remind me of hairspray. Very very disappointed. I really want a true dandelion scent, with that weird milky greenness and bitter leaf. All the listed notes sound great to me, but I don't really get them.

i have never tried fig before-i didn't expect to enjoy it so much-but i do- it is a little sweet, a little gourmand-not too much-which i like- it is soft. pretty and a little musky-never having had tried several of these notes i can't give a review based on the notes-just my impression of the scent-and i really like it- i definitely want to see about getting a decant of this- -it has lasted a few hours already-and this is a splash sample.

Love this!! Another great one from Shay & Blue. Don’t expect a fruity fig, but more of a green, plant like scent. It’s tomato leaf and dandelions, not floral or really sweet but it has a gorgeous leafy fresh bitterness. Reminds me of carefree summer days when I was a kid playing in fields, or the smell of a greenhouse at the bottom of the garden. It’s a lovely nostalgic feeling! One of my favourites from S&B!!

I have tried my sample several times over the past two weeks, weather conditions varying between eight and twenty degrees Celsius, and have to say it just smells like alcoholic grass to me. No fig, no green perfume notes... if you know the Polish vodka with the Bison on the bottle and the straw inside, I could imagine it is a marketing prank of theirs. And my sample was an original one from their London shop.

Very lemongrass forward, but the vegetal notes hold their own. As others have observed, there is very little fig involved. The bitterness of the dandelion almost reads as tobacco, and the whole thing is very bright, high pitched, acidic, and sunny. This one is pretty comfortably unisex, and I'm going to try it again in hot weather, when I suspect it will make more sense.

On the search for a good fig scent, this disappointed. It opens green, bright and tart-sweet like a gin and tonic but I don’t get much fig at all, even at dry down with fig as the base note. It’s not totally unappealing, I think it can be a pleasant unisex summer scent. It’s just not at the top of my list in my search for a fig fragrance. Moderate longevity....

oh!!!!! i love this!!!!!! it's like the perfect combination of min new york's chef's table and frederic malle's angeliques sous la pluie !!! the aromatic qualities from ASLP (namely the juniper) and sweet tomato qualities from chef's table are both present here, but i love the slight zing that the lemongrass adds. lovely stuff!

I blind bought a bottle of Dandelion Fig...which was a mistake. I tried to like it...I really did. I wore it about 5 times and just couldn't make it work for me. I didn't like the blending and felt that the dandelion and tomato leaf were overwhelming and didn't play nice with the fig, while it lasted.

Heartbroken to hear from Shay and Blue yesterday that this gorgeous, herbaceous fig won't be restocked on the US site. It's so good and has very decent longevity for a fresh fig scent. Reminds me of sunbaked summer grass. The tomato leaf really makes this one unique!

Nice fragrant unisex Springtime ‘green’ vegetable floral. It definitely leans male. I'm selling an unused 10 ml of this in the U.K. for £15 on Ebay
