I don't really understand the reviews below. I think there is a problem in the perfume world where people have started to think wood="one or two specific molecules which are used pretty much everywhere" (for those who want to know which ones, it's probably norlimbanol). This is a good variation on the fruity woody thing that people like wearing these days. The pineapple is very present in the opening, and then subsumes into an oak note, very reminiscent of sawdust. It doesn't smell like cedar which is THE wood you'll smell everywhere. I find this more interesting than the Jo Malone oak series. Longevity is very good (still getting whiffs in the morning from my chest spray 10h before). Can't vouch for projection but it's probably close as soon as the pineapple disappears.

This is a definite love from me, reminds me a little of Cedrat Boise crossed with Terre d’Hermes but better than both...this is an adult fragrance, masculine, fresh, slightly sour pineapple, blackcurrant leaves? Oh and tonnes of manly woods, Very sexy, I can’t stop smelling my wrist! Good longevity too. I have a 10 ml but full bottle worthy. Oh and it smells nothing like Hugo by Hugo Boss (see below)

Been a big fan of Shay & Blue since they first started and this has been a more recent addition to my collection. Strange this is rated as more feminine as comes over way more masculine to me and quite a heavy hitter with good longevity & projection - have to go light on the sprays if wearing in the office. As with my S&B fragrances, certainly not mainstream, but worth sampling first although compared to many other niche fragrances not hugely expensive.

Great scent overall, but not an original scent to me. This one reminds me of Hugo Boss back in the 90s. The perfumer probably wasn't shooting for Hugo, but i definitely get the Hugo vibes. With that being said, its a compliment getter, it smells pretty good!

I love Shay and Blue. So buying this as a big bottle was a no brainer... I loved the marketing hype especially on Luckyscent. Today, out of hundreds of blind buys - this is the one that got me... It starts with a very real lifelike sweet Pineapple (not at all sour) - like you've chopped one in half, then shortly there after the fern appears and remains in the back ground. After 5 minutes the wood/s appear with leather and this is where its a hint of things to come. 10 - 15 minutes in it starts to feel a bit powdery - and here with the slight freshness from the now virtually undetectable pineapple it basically reminds me of stale urinated underwear like when I was caring for my father with dementia (god bless his soul). A very unpleasant smell. Tried it three times after washing. It was better with just a light spray but it was basically then barely noticeable. Its saving grace are two fold - 1) It has poor projection so hopefully no one can smell it 2) Rinsing with water removed the darker aspects leaving it smelling like an unremarkable weak cologne (for an EDP no less). Sorry - one of the rare occasions where I can't see a polite positive. I'm now burnt by Shay and Blue and seriously can't help wonder how they thought this was passable. Surely there must be something wrong. Great marketing and concept - very very very poorly executed... shame one you S & B... the marketing says "a statement of confidence" - yep you need to be confident to wear this alright...

Very pleasant opening with decent projection within half an hour settles into very soft and decent scent for about another hour and half. I cannot smell any hints of urine at neither opening or first 2 hours, as many pointed out here. At least not in my batch sample. After 2 hours it gradually morphs into truly disgusting smell evoking image of dead mouse under rotting tree. This phase lasting 6-7 hours. Luckily for unfortunate wearer of this smelly creation, the mouse died year ago, so nobody could smell this funk unless their nose almost touching your skin.

I love Shay & Blue so every new thing is automatically on the "must sample" list. How did this one fare? Meh. But mostly meh because it smells almost exactly like Hugo by Hugo Boss to me and I hate that scent. King's Wood starts off with a sharp juniper berry note, then a bit of pineapple and after about an hour I also get the whiff of urine. Possibly a bit of case undertone in there too, but it's faint. This is marketed as unisex, I am pretty open-minded about smells but this one is best left to a specific demographic: the teenage boy.

I'm with the majority here. This one opens up with a strong citrus/urine blast. Pineapple I think not. More like a sour grapefruit which remains distinguishable throughout the duration of the scent. The woods is so light that the name is very misleading the same way that Le Labo misleads with some of their names. Longevity is good at 8+ hours but the scent is bad. This one will be discounted soon as I don't see many paying $140 for 100 ml.

I totally agree with the comment below. I have also noticed that smell of urine. It smells mature and something that a person using Kouros would wear. This is not the refreshing compliment getter fragrance that I was looking for.

Axe shower gel with a hint of pineapple.

My boyfriend has a trio of Shay & Blue samples. They've been relegated to the bathroom as air fresheners, and even under that job description, they go unused. And for damn good reason. If you've ever had the awful experience of going into the restroom at a children's soft play gym, you'll know what this fragrance smells like. There's a subcurrent of generic woodiness, which is nice enough, but the stench of lemon bleach and piss reigns supreme. This is genuinely horrible.

So this to me smells like grapefruit in the opening, not pineapple. The first and only time I wore this, the opening had died down and I kept getting a whiff of badly cleaned public toilet that has been doused in citrus cleaner. I didn't realise it was me to begin with. I owned a 10ml of this. I don't any more. It was a blind buy, what can I say?!

Sawdust, left behind on the joiner's workshop floor to be pissed on by the apprentice's labrador puppy, and onto which, the following day, a glass of concentrated fruit-juice was spilled. That's what the clever chaps at S&B distilled and bottled for your olfactory delight. Because you are delighted, aren't you?
