Rosarium

Composed of Bulgarian rose in essential oil form and tea rose, which is a special kind of rose that originated from China, which was later used in cross-breeding in Europe and has a peculiar, tea-like, elegant scent. This perfume incorporates a highly realistic, hyperfresh scent that almost mimics the flower that is still living, breathing, and alive in nature. It almost captures the aerial molecules floating around a live bloom. It's crisp, translucent, airy, and dewy. It's also a little yummy, I must confess. Like rose jam but not like a syrupy, vintage fragrance like Rose Jam from Lush. It also has a calming powdery depth that somewhat resembles Parisienne by YSL to my nose. It sits very close to the skin and remains wearable in humid, hot weather. Sillage is moderate to low, and it is a skin scent, which is quite rare with rose fragrances. So, I don't mind it at all. It is highly likely designed to be a luminous, clean veil of scent, noticeable up close, low-to-moderate in sillage, and perfectly adapted to blend with the natural warmth of your skin. Honestly, how did they capture the airy, volatile molecules so well in this perfume?

This fragrance is beautiful and smells just like the roses you'd find in a rose garden... it is so lovely and so photorealistic! Rosarium is a light, feminine and girly perfume that is very pleasing to the senses and wouldn't offend many people for sure. I'd say the scent is that of a hot pink rose, just like the roses on the box that the scent comes in. Speaking of the presentation, I love the light pink frosted glass bottle and the frosted glass cap and I find it beautiful. I could imagine this scent being perfect for the office, since the sillage is about moderate and it only lasts about 2 and a half hours on my skin before I need to re-spray it again. I love how it smells, but I just wish that it lasted longer. I can't complain though for the price. It is super affordable and it is drug-store level price! It would be good for the day in either spring or summer. I bought this scent at the Ginza Shiseido store in Tokyo, which I feel very lucky to have gone to. It was a beautiful store and the staff were so helpful and friendly! Anyway, that aside, I'd give this perfume an 8.4/10.

There are many Shiseido fragrances that I like. I love all kinds of floral notes, and rose scents are one of them. I really like Diptyque's Eau Rose and Paul Smith's Rose as they have gentle fresh roses. On the other hand, this ROSARIUM has a sensual side. Shiseido's SASO has the scent of roses stolen from that fragrance...! I really love this perfume. I find it very sad that Shiseido discontinues good perfumes so quickly. I would like to avoid discontinuing it as much as possible.

I bought Rosarium in Japan and it is a lovely fragrance. It smells like roses. Not complex but nice. Yes, it was "cheap" in Japan but it is certainly not cheap if you want to purchase it outside of Japan. I have tried several rose fragrances and I really like Rosarium the best.

A syrupy, honeyed rose, but not at all heavy as there’s a bright litchi-like note running through it. Most rose fragrances that aim for the honeyed damascena variety tend to be a bit unnatural, but this one is an exception, especially for the price point. Cheers to Shiseido.

Rosarium / Bara-en starts off as a very dense soliflore rose. To some noses this seems to translate as honey notes - I can kind of switch my perception to this image as well, but it’s not what comes to mind first - but to mine it feels rather dark, muddled and sharply alcoholic. Fortunately, after 10-15 minutes that fades away and you are left with a nice, unsweetened light pink rose - mostly the petals with very little green. At this stage, Rosarium / Bara-en feels like a simpler ancestorial version of Stella McCartney’s “Stella”: similar DNA, but without any frills and layers. As time goes by, the fragrance becomes airier and better. One could say that Rosarium manages to transform without many notes. It leans feminine - although it remains wearable by men - and is quite ageless. Still, Rosarium is the kind of scent that I would gift to a child as a very first perfume as the bottle is cute and the price is reasonable (~ 2500¥). Performance-wise, it stays close to the skin and lasts a good 8 hours on me. As for the verdict, this might not be a groundbreaking rose perfume and I would not pay a lot for it or hunt it down in a complicated way. Yet, what it is is a simple, pure rose that feels very innocent and can be worn anytime. If you are looking for something like this, give it a try. TL;DR: Simple and innocent rose that gets better over time.

Bright, simple, lemony rose. Quite sweet. I bought it after using the same scented Rosarium Shiseido shampoo to remind me of Japan. It does smell “Japanese” which to me, means a little soapy and steering clear of musk.

Rosarium smells like the very anatomy of a rose. This is some good stuff if you really love roses, but it's also... I don't know, it's really inherently Japanese, so it's quite inoffensive but very well crafted, if you could call diluted essential oil "crafted." It's really nice to me, it's probably solely the quality of the oil. I got it because it looked like my stage name, and it reminded me of 80s shoujo manga and I just had to have it. This is really, really pure rose, but it's this... specific rose that I smell when I drink Fentimann's Rose Lemonade. Rosarium is clean and fresh and borderline effervescent. If you're a rose fanatic like me, or really even just a person who has smelled a lot of fragrances, you know that there's this strange rose spectrum. On one side, you have a sickening, synthetic, headache-inducing rose that kind of gives the same effect as smelling something much too sweet, and then there's the natural, fresh rose that makes you feel like you have a real rose up to your face on the other end. Every scent on the spectrum is called "rose," one way or another, but there's certainly some weird ones out there. This is very far on the good end of the spectrum, fresh and almost leafy.

How it smells will depend hugely on your skin chemistry. As most rose scents, this one smells horrible on me, sad but I'm quite happy that I didn't spend much on it (less then 20 dollars I think). So as I said before, sometimes Rosarium is quite nice. I spray it in the air in my office right after I got it, and lots colleagues said they liked it. And a girl tested in on her skin, lighted, sweet-candy like rose notes. Nice on her. This couraged me alot that I thought it might be my "right" rose scent. The next morning, I happily applied it and went out, hurried to my office. Ten minutes later, Rosarium already made me sick and I was almost to go back washing it off my wrists! I can't believe but it smells just like GASOLINE on me :< Now the bottle sit in my closet quitely. And I'm still trying to find a rose scent that won't "go off" on me. I think Rosarium is not really a serious fragrance in Shiseido's line. The scent is belongs to a line called "Bara-en" which is mainly focus on fragranced bath/body products. And you can tell it from the price: Rosarium sold in Japan at 2800 Yen while most of Shiseido's new fragrances are usually more then 5000 YEN.

I tried several rose notes fragrance and found this one is lightest and purest.While Paul Smith Rose can bring back the most real rose smell, this one smells almost like rose essential oil, sweet and light as what I feel when I think about a rose.It is good to be used in daliy routine but obivously it is not very serious frangrance with many notes.
