Aun no he probado las existencias actuales de esta fragancia, y si la reformularon o no, pero al menos esa Tactics en los años 80, yo la amaba. Para tener un paralelismo sobre lo que representa esta fragancia, yo afirmo lo siguiente: Así como la L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme, evoca los aromas de los arbustos de la costa japonesa; la Shiseido Tactics evoca los aromas del bosque profundo japones!!!. En algunas webs y enciclopedias que consulté, se clasifica a esta fragancia como "Woody Green" (Amaderada Verde), y ciertamente es así como debe ser recibida, pero igual, Aromática Fougère también cumple con su descripción, salvo que omite su característica de amaderada. En las botellas que yo usé en los años 80, yo recuerdo haber identificado la canela, pero al parecer no era así, aunque mantengo mi duda. Tactics is a gem sadly forgotten. The juice is exactly what u expect if you look at the beautiful bottle: clean, soapy and casual in an classic way. The blend is all about herbs, pine, oakmoss, musk and flowers. I can see someone in the late 70's wearing it in the Gym, playing tennis or in a Spa. It still has its style but it's quite casual in my opinion. Tactics is in the same league of paco rabanne pour homme, bogart signature, tsar or sung for men, but more gentle and "white-green". If you are into this kind of fragrances buy it if you can! Performance is good, for 35-40 and up. Good in every seasons. Simple and complex at the same time! My aunt brought this over from Italy for my dad in 2001. I still have about 3/4 of a bottle full of it. My dad doesn't use fragrance all that much, so he passed it off to me, which I was 13 at the time. Wasn't too fond of it then, but I dug it up a couple of years ago and tried it on again. A little strong and herbal at first for my taste, but the dry down was phenomenal. Great scent! I save it only for special occasions where I want to treat myself to an "all about me" day, haha.

oh my god,i forgot this,but it was my first love. very fresh and green pure masculen,but i always loved on me.very similar nanette lepore-green bottle- and paul smith story-more strong.i was smell orange but cant see at notes.perfect for the summer,but good at winter for balsamic notes.i hope shiseido made it again:)

Restrained restraint. Infusion of Japanese aesthetics. People don't pay enough attention to Shiseido, especially in fragrance. Tactics is a rich green fougere made of Aldehyde, Galbanum, Bergamot, Cedar, Juniper, Clary Sage, Thyme. For the epithelium, first burst a bergamot, after the outer shell is cracked, then slowly peel off the contents for you to smell. The same kind of Ralph Lauren Polo I own, a family. Both are green fougere but very different. Tactics will fade over time and will not last well. Polo is stronger. People have temperament, and perfume has it too. Shiseido Tactics is restrained and gentle, yet tough. There is a Japanese group spirit. No matter from the packaging or bottle design, the simplicity of Tactics can reflect the pragmatic characteristics of the Yamato nation. French perfumes are wild and romantic, while Italians are wild and unrestrained, rarely producing "flat" scents. If Tactics is a person, then this person must come from an aristocratic family, and his good upbringing adds a bit of bookish air to him. He pays attention to appearance and is meticulous.

Fantastic! Addictive even! Clean, fresh, dewy white florals on a bed of soapy foliage and pine. It’s soft and not prohibitively masculine, especially considering some of the scent profiles of its contemporaries. What I have is the current formulation of the cologne version of this. I don’t detect anything cheap or otherwise blatantly chemical-forward here, and although I haven’t smelled vintage formulations, this one smells so good that I wouldn’t personally seek out older bottles. As others have mentioned, the cologne concentration doesn’t last long before mellowing into a shallow scent bubble, but I’m beyond happy with it, especially considering the price tag of around 2200 yen (~15 USD) for 120ml. Also, I’ve decanted it into a smaller bottle with an atomizer, and it sticks to fabric well, so I reckon I’ll spray it on clothes.

Unique fragrance that was available in Canada for a short time, then I discovered it in Japan again. I wish it had an atomiser. It's just like an after-shave. Try it!

I reviewed Shiseido Tactics almost 10 years ago. And it's a fragrance that's still with me. It's funny what scent-memory can do. Olfactory reflection is the deepest connection to the emotional centers. I've been gradually going through my earliest fragrance experiences and reflecting upon them. Tactics was an early one for me, that actually followed the legendary Basala. I don't know if some fragrances lend themselves more to scent-memory than others, but Tactics is strong for me. It's still a restrained fragrance. And its longevity is probably below average. But these aren't undesirable characteristics. Tactics is more of a day fragrance for me, although sometimes it's a bedtime fragrance. Dab a little on just before bed and simply enjoy the aroma before slipping off in slumber. Tactics has already been extensively reviewed and even the one written by alphairone last year is wonderfully done, more than I could do it justice. My testimony is a little different. This is a classic style fougére that is uplifting. It's a bright, positive aroma. Even the soapy accent is a promise that grime is pushed away, leaving clean to stand triumphant. The EDT seems non-existent, except for a few lottery-win type sellers asking a fortune. I consider myself very lucky to have a few bottles of it that will remain a cherished part of my collection. I have actually sampled the "cologne" version and yes, it's more fleeting... yet still very pleasant. However, the EDT is distinguished. If you can get it for a price you can stomach, I encourage it. Tactics also came in some 10ml splash bottles, quite some time ago. They were fairly common. Not in EDT but in cologne strength. Easy to refill and make great travel bottles. I wish I'd bought more. I have just one. If you're a big lover of Tactics, don't hesitate to pick one up if you see it, even if empty, as you can refill it.

Can't remember where I got this bottle within the last 10 years. It was heavily marketed in dept stores in my home town in 1984. I remember the year 'cause it was my 1st year in college. It came & went, just like that in mainstream retail. There was the white bottle we see now & a matching black one. No idea what each contained. Maybe one for EDT, other aftershave? The black one doesn't show up anywhere now. There's a website called "Japanese Taste" that sells Tactics. It also features a 'skin conditioner', guessing this is what the company calls 'aftershave-balm'. It's differentiated from the EDT by having a blue ring around the base of the cap, as opposed to the green ring on the EDT. There's also a Tactics face cream; austerely & plainly marketed as just that, in a solid, plain white jar. I enjoy this frag. I find it a "wet" denser, simpler "sub-fougere" 'vibe' of YSL Jazz. I must have a vintage bottle because longevity is decent. It's very dark-green & "wet" in a good way, minty, basil & just a burst of bity, sharp, aldehydic powder to the woods; a strange but enjoyable brief funk of heated wood....... dries off. It's not complex or mysterious, but that's it's a appeal. And that said, it does have the ability to form a strong 'smell memory-picture' in your head. Love the big square, white porcelain-effect bottle; looks & feels great. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this, & it's hard to find anyway; but my recommendation is: If a bottled "finds" itself within your reach; grab it. It was meant to happen.

Tactics comes in a variety of fragrance strengths: cologne, after shave, EdT, and after shower. AFAIK, you can also get it in sizes ranging from sample to 240ml. This is a pleasant light fougere fragrance that can pretty much be considered unisex. I'm a little mystified as to why "woody" is listed as one of the notes here as I don't pick up on that one. Actually, I find that there's a soft and soapy herbal-floral essence, maybe some geranium too. The green fresh spicy notes come forward quite a bit in the beginning, but then fade back to let the powdery floral-citrus be prominent. Some people have cited this smelling like a urinal cake. I can see why... there is a floral quality that is reminiscent of fragrances used in European deodorizing products. If you can divorce yourself from that association, it's a nice fragrance. If you can't, then it's like "why bother?" The projection is rather weak and longevity doesn't seem to be all that great, maybe 4 hours tops. That would make this a great everyday office cologne to wear all year round, requiring a small atomizer to freshen up later in the day. Very kitschy white cube bottle. The EdT seems to be almost impossible to source on-line these days, as I've learned that Shiseido discontinued it (not on their website, in Japanese or English), so the cologne is all you can find for strongest fragrance concentration... and rather pricey for what you get, unfortunately. 8.8/10 for fragrance, 6.5/10 for value.

The truth of restraint becomes clear should we sit, take notice of our breath, and lean into discomfort until we embrace it. Tactics is that feeling when the sun nourishes the greenest grasses and weeds, warms the pine sap, and sweetens the air. When first applied on the skin, an accord of galbanum, juniper, and bergamot greets the nose, as if to say "how do you do?" It's polite, but vibrant, and it sustains its major chord as a meditative hum. A clary sage and mint is evident as we reach the heart, with a classic moss-coumarin fougere dry down not far behind. I am reminded of a more restrained Ivoire de Balmain or Aliage melded with elements of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme or Bogart Signature. However, it does have a sensibility of its own: a sense of poise and composure, as if one is standing at a reflection pool.

it is 1979, i am in love, i am living in yokohama, i am 30. i come across a small bottle of tactics. it dazzles me with its light but distinctive aura. i started looking for it again in the 2000s. going to shiseido counters in various cities and airports, there was nothing. sales assistants just shrugged. they did not know what i was talking about. as if it were only a dream, the perfumed air of a dream. even tho, my tastes have changed to "mature" chypre, oud, spiced, exotics, my heart pined for tactics. and now, it is within reach via the internet. for younger people it may be the right note of clean brightness and hopeful expectancy. and for me, love and days gone by.

Nice green aromatic fougere. Really nothing super special, just a good men's fragrance. Old school, but not loud, kinda like a nice vintage wooden house in Japan by a stream, under some blooming trees. Definitely not worth the price people asking for around the internet. It reminds me of Worth Pour Homme, which is much less expensive and pretty much has the same effect. I do love the bottle, possibly my favorite in my collection. If you have the dollar to blow, then get it, it is a nice addition. If you are just looking for something similar and cheaper, Worth PH should do the trick.

Tactics by Shiseido (vintage version) reminds me of Aliage by Estee Lauder, again, vintage formulation. Such the gorgeous green scent! Lasting power is impressive! This is still produced today but is only sold in Japan. Too bad for the rest of us. I find this to be quite feminine-leaning; however, I prefer not to assign gender to scents. Great replacement for those of us who loved the OG Aliage. Truth being, some green scents don't stand the test of time terribly well. Meaning, you can find vintage Aliage but I've yet to find one that is as it once was.

Tactics, One of my favourite cologne of the 80's. such a herbal, aromatic, delicate, sophisticated yet invigorating fragrance. A beautiful elegant packaging and distinctive graphics that combine the refined charm of Japan with the clean functional spirit of European design. So ahead for its time, and so still now. The bottle squared off flasks shape it's such a contemporary design. Hat off as always to the great Japanese creativity. I longed it for such long time and finally got one recently. Easy to get it on E bay mostly sold in Japan.

Tactics is such a charming perfume. It is basically an aldehydic green chypre made masculine by removing flowers and putting in some aromatic notes. I think that many brands that strive for that kind of gentle, quiet, poetic beauty (looking at Goutal, Malone and others) should stop redoing pale florals and eau-de-colognes and follow vintage Shiseido's path. Take a bold idea and make it subtle.

Vintage Edt, not Cologne. I do not find this similar with the aforementioned PR pour Homme, but strikengly similar with Mila Schon Uomo, another hidden and forgotten gem. This is what would You expect from Shiseido, every of their fragrance's have a twist in a specific genra; this is practically Shiseido Asian's twist in the specific manly green genra from the 70's and 80's.

In Japan, we can buy in drug stores. Under JPY3,000.- 120ml Cologne. So I could buy one. Scent, very Green! I love this. Very comfortable these days, very hot weather. Sometimes, I wear this in office. Only older men know this scent. Dry down, I think it is Quiet. Bitter.

I'm not ready to vote for Love or Like options, but I definitely can say that Tactics' longevity isn't that great. A few hours at max, unfortunately. The scent itself is really good, though (thus I'd really like to have it in EDP or at least EDT concentration).

great green scent became the inspiration for many shampoos/shower gels aromas, guess it was discontinued for good! Like all great fumes from the 80's

This fragrance is great. Tactics is a real army fragrance. Full of masculinity. Reminds me very much of Aigner Silver, which is heavy on incense.
