Mandorla di Noto

Creamy almonds layered over slightly dry woods. Mid and drydown are beautiful, and the performance is extremely good. The initial woodsy notes leans this to the masculine side, but this soon develops into a definite unisex fragrance. Projection is moderate to heavy; and as for longevity - I sprayed it onto the back of my hand at 20:30, and could still smell it a few inches from my hand at 13:00 the next day. Tested with full tester bottle from PoP in Knutsford, Cheshire (£115), and again later with an official sample. I had a pleasure to sample this perfume today and I left the shop with a whole bottle. Very unique, marzipan smelling fragrance with green/bitter notes added to it. To me it is balanced so well, worth trying for sure.

Mandorla di Noto is a nice change from overly sweet gourmand fragrances. The almond in this perfume is green and powdery. Right after spraying, I smell a slightly sweet marzipan note that then slowly morphs into green almonds. The further the drydown progresses, the more powdery the fragrance becomes. Once dried down, I also get a synthetic amber note that stays on my clothes for at least 24 hours. I appreciate this fragrance for showing a different side of the almond, but I am not a fan of the persistent synthetic amber in the drydown that tickles my nose in an unpleasant way.

Opens up from almost chewy pistachio marzipan, it does not have that roasted almonds aroma, but instead is bordering with something like a fresh figue leaf. Getting softer and more vanillic to the middle, you get whiffs of good quality raw almonds puree then. And drydown is my favourite part, because it is darker and woodier than the start and that fresh-green part evaporates, leaving you with a creamy-woody-nutty substance, thick and gooey nougat. Long-lasting and lovely!

Not gourmand on me at all. Too powdery but still sweet, a fresher type of musky sweetness. Reminds me of HYPNOTIC POISON without the florals. It's nice but not my style. Review of full bottle blind-buy.

on me it settles as a smoky note that seems out of sync with the rest of the fragrance.

At first, Mandorla di Noto opens with very bitter, roasted green almonds. Not exactly the type of almond I was expecting from a presumably gourmand perfume. This scent is also full of sugar and vanilla icing... BUT the amber note is incorrectly listed. The note in this is ambergris, not amber. And a lot of it. At first I thought it may be some sort of oud note because it is very dry and smoky on my skin, but there’s a saltiness and woody muskiness to it. I’m not the most familiar with ambergris, so I can’t comment on how it ranks, but the other notes are very nice. Just don’t expect an almond-sugar gourmand scent like Cara Farmacia SS Annunziata. This is primarily an ambergris perfume, accompanied by a creamy base of sugar. It’s a very good quality- one spray is both noticeable to others and long lasting.

I never experienced this, but on me it turned out to be an absolutly green almond! Or a bitter almond, or a bitter flowery note like marigold. But under these tones I can feel a little sweetnes so maybe it's just not compatible with my skin. Edit: After an hour It was headache, I was need to wash it off. :(

I dont know who came up with notes on Fragrantica but I pick up NONE of them. from 1st spray to dry down, I smell green/bitter "almonds?", with leaves and branches. No sweetness, no vanilla, certainly no sweet icing. This was a waste of money and air.

This was a SCRUBBER. It smelled like musty, dusty old man with aftershave on. Absolutely revolting. I don’t understand why the notes are listed as gourmand when I’m getting smelly old man from it and his mothball sweaters. DISGUSTING

This collection is breathtaking. IT carries best bits from italica after bitter almond presence passes but longevity and sillage of Simone Andreoli are cosmic whereas Italica drops flat on its face after 3 hours of wear

Smells way more oud like and dark than I would expect by the notes. Quite a dry, leathery scent too. Perhaps my sample is bad but there are no almonds at all. A leather, oud and vanilla.

This is green almonds, and like the reviewer below, I detect no gourmand notes whatsoever. This one is a scrubber for me. Please do not blind buy.
