Sentosa

This is my favourite perfume hands down. I have others that are much more $$$ e.g Chanel Coromandel, Armani Prive, Tom Ford, but this just makes my heard sing every time I spray it. To me it's an ambergris/patchouli bomb. Intense. Passionate. Love.

Sentosa is a high-quality sweet amber scent, rich and full-bodied. It is not unusual at all, being a spicy oriental scent in the vein of Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan, YSL Opium, CK Obsession et al., but Sentosa is nicely nuanced and manages not to be overpowering in an eighties-style manner. Simple and nicely composed, Sentosa is wearable and modern while paying homage to the classics. Sentosa is balsamic from the beginning, warmly spicy with a hint of fruitiness, thanks to the pink pepper. The amber accord is evident from the beginning, developing beautifully on my skin as time passes. Initially sweet, enhanced by the smooth vanilla, it is complemented nicely by a pinch of earthy patchouli. As Sentosa develops, the sweetness fades and the amber accord becomes more animalic and leather-like, enhanced beautifully by soft woody notes and remnants of warm spices. It fades, becoming a salty, animalic amber skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A timeless, well-balanced amber scent, Sentosa is unisex by modern standards. Nothing original, and not necessary if you own a bottle of Ambre Sultan or similar, but is a good quality amber scent - a worthy addition to this line. 4/5.

It is a decent fragrance, not the best. Be warned...the first 30 minutes you will smell like you just rubbed an incense stick all over yourself. Other notes appear, but they are faint. I am mostly getting incense and patchouli notes. Andreoli's best fragrances are still Ocean of a Midnight Moon, Malibu - Party in the Bay, and Fico Nero. Potent stuff though... 6.8/10

Sensuality. Flowing tobacco ashes, dusty incense, & sweet rum are what i get from this sensual juice! Teasing, and dirty ambergris, lapdanum, & sweet sandalwood. I can detect tobacco powder, patchouli, sweet amber, & grand black pepper buzz. Simone wrote "The gaze of dusk and the charm of one night, reminding of two lovers’ taste, hidden by hot reflexes of love and by irreverent provocations. An abstract conscience, enthralled by essences and odours of a beauty that leads me to loose reason, step by step, up to the door of my suite. Since that night, still persists over my skin a perfume I live and I listen to; it speaks of seduction, while, from my room’s glass I am admiring nocturnal Singapore". Finally, i see this and i witnessed it while sniffing this blend, It's quite beautiful and sensual. This is the 2nd blend i tested from "Simone Andreoli" and i loved this while i disliked the other "Ask Me Permission". I believe i should have a sniff on his other creations since this one is grand beauty. One more thing, it's slightly near "Absolue Pour le Soir" by Maison Francis Kurkdjian (The old version of course & not the reformulated version) with it's spiciness, incense, & the direction.

About two years ago I swapped my 2011 bottle of Tom Ford Amber Absolute. Six months ago I picked up a recent bottle, but didn't get along with it. I tried a few reportedly quality clones, and none satisfyingly scratched that "itch". Having met and respected Simone Andreoli, I own and thoroughly enjoy a few of his fragrances. I saw a part-used bottle of Sentosa for sale on a Facebook fragrance group and took a leap of faith. Sentosa is EVERY bit as good as my old 2011 Tom Ford Amber Absolute. I cannot believe I have left it this long before trying this beauty. It may not be an original composition, but damn is it a quality fragrance.

Very prominent and noticeable scent. Can give a bit of headache. To my nose this is a bit more masculine than the rest of Andreoli fragrances. In terms of longevity and sillage it is close to MFK and Amouage fragrances. Little goes a long way.
