L'Eau Rêvée D'Ikar

This is not really an aromatic. It is nothing like Citron Noir. Its lingering impression is a soft, creamy, gourmand combined with a whiff of something pleasant and natural and lightly smoked in the surroundings. You’re a kid, eating pistachio icecream in a garden of lemon trees and Mediterranean scrub baking their resins under the sun. There is the faintest whiff of wood-smoke blowing in on the wind. Warm, evocative, lovely. It’ll be someone’s favourite scent - because it will be the scent of someone’s childhood somewhere, for sure. I deeply believe that anyone who ever thought they were looking for a comfort fragrance, like ‘by the fireplace’, was actually looking for this. Elegant and superior among the ‘cozy’ incensey frags, and not at all ubiquitous. It might have displaced Tam Dao for me in that department (which is a feat). However, a weak performance. Stays close to the skin, as do all the Eaux de Revee. Sniff worthy, for sure. 4/5 P.S. after a few months, I have used up my sample, cause I’ve been craving this lovely veil. I think it’s my own childhood I’m reminded of, and the nostalgia of it has crept up on me. I might have to full-bottle it...

My love. When I do not know what to wear, I wear this. It's never overwhelming. 150 ml drunk in 2 1/2 years. Masculine-barbery? Yes. But in best possible way. Stylish. Cold frag for sober moments. All-rounder for home, work and errands. Still and layered. Appropriate.

It instantly reminded me of the crisp elegance of Chanel 19 Poudré, with more warmth and sunshine. There’s also that bright floral-green vibe I like in Jardin Secret by Houbigant (but minus the "babichka /grandma/ vibe", which is even more awesome).

Such an interesting scent, I don't have anything similar in my collection. The opening is not for the faint hearted as it starts masculine with a strong herby and raisinous/waxy note but it does not last long maybe 5 min and you get used to it with time. Then there is this fresh yet creamy and slightly sweet fragrance, hard to describe but all the fragrances from this line are very fresh, natural smelling and well blended. I would say this fragrance is addicting, even my husband liked it on me.

This is quite nice. This citrus isn't overly lemony which is always a worry for me when I see lemon listed as a note. It's slightly green but not so much that my head thinks fougere. The iris/mastic/pistachio middle gives this a creaminess that mutes some of the bright aspect of the citrus yet the citrus doesn't disappear at all. Instead, I think it's actually enhanced by the middle. This is simply a very well-crafted and classy fragrance.

Similar to the OG Eau D'Ikar for men. This one is simpler and with a little more powderiness giving the unisex direction compared to EAU D IKAR. Nice, fresh fragrance but the mastic and pistachio makes this a special fragrance. If you can grab/have the OG Eau D'ikar this one is redundant to have.

It has old vibe to it, remind me of N 19

It's mainly an earthly iris(not make up-y at all) mixed with mastic. It's like La Pausa from Chanel but with an added mastic note(not exactly, but u know, sorta). I'm not getting any sandalwood, as the scent is not sweet and creamy; it's rather resinous, dry and earthy. Not getting any vetiver neither. My second attempt of trying this scent is much better; the first one was a catastrophe lol. I'm not sure why I was getting a chicken hen association LOL Not bad, but a pass for me. Edit This is very similar to Cartier Rivière de Cartier Luxuriance.

I hated this so much I had to scrub it off. I only made it ten minutes! It smelt spicy, herbal, and weirdly edible in the worst way.

This is not old eau d ikar. It has similar notes and its much more citrus, with less of that old fougere feel. You can smell mastic but its nowhere near what it used to be. Its now more citrus freshie with a light mastic. Not complex like the old one where you would get an old barbershop earthy feel with a looot od smooth mastic. Its the same vein but not the old d ikar frag. Perhaps once it maturates a bit, but even with that... someone didnt like that old school feel and a smell of a strong mastic. It is jow more toned down and more of a modern freshie. If you are like me, you will stock on eau d ikar anad avoid this.

I received this one as a complementsry sample. I tried it one my skin. At first, I was quite startled by the opening. Quite a blast!! Like an alarmclock. But this only lasts for a couple of minutes. Then it turns into what I would describe as a serious citrus smell. Serious in the sense that it does not give me the happy uplifting vibes like other citrus frags. But it wakes me up and it gives me focus. It's definitively unisex imo. This is the perfect scent for working days that require mental freshness and focus. I love it. I'll keep this one exactly for that purpose.

Hand to hand comparison with the original Ikar: Characteristic mastic-iris fresh and powdery combo is still there, bitterness in the base is unchaged. Opening is totally different, resembles dishwashing detergent, brighter and paler than original Ikar. Scent develompent and base are roughly the same. Sadly the new iteration is not as full bodied as the original. The original already was painted in watercolours, the new one's colour saturation is watered down. Hard to say, if this is due to reformulation or just ageing of the first Ikar, the first I guess.

Green vetiver. Why isnt anyone talking about it? After the bracing bitter citrus the green vetiver comes right up from the base giving it its backbone. Its unisex to masculine on me, perhaps those that wear Chanel 19, Sycomore, La Pausa will find this agreeable. Its done very well and those that yearn for the vintage green scents of the 1970s will find this wearable and modern in this fashion. This is an intellectual scent, professional scent pretty sophisticated. Not my personal cup of tea but has the Sisley polish.

Yes, the onset is sharp bitter herbal and quite in your face, but it dries to a more refreshing European cologne style green. On me though, the base doesn't blend with the bright citrus top notes. The base is a nutty pistachio with powdery iris and warm labdanum and the two categories don't blend on my skin. It smells like I mixed two different fragrances and made a poor choice which too. Not bad, but not for me.

Lentisque, a fresh and amber resin with green accents and sweet citrus. Lentisque oil and carrot seeds. Greedy ! A little gem unknown and underestimated made of noble materials and good for the skin. L'eau d'Ikar in another bottle to fit into a range. My signature perfume. Happily exactely the same.

Strong and unusual woody aromatic EDT. Somewhat fresh and citrusy but for the most part woody. Totally unisex and long lasting but not a safe blind buy.

I think this is watered and downgraded Eau d'Ikar... It is not balsamic-powdery as much as the old Eau d'Ikar...

Similar to Choc by Cardin, but I prefer Choc as it is not so creamy.
