Pyromancy

Given the abject disasters that the other two scents I’ve tried from this house were I was hesitant to actually try this one out, but eventually plucked up the courage to apply it. On a day off, of course. If I’m being honest, I wasn’t expecting much, given how south the other two went. But Pyromancy pleasantly surprised me. This is quite a bit more masculine than I usually go for, but it’s not SO manly that I feel like I accidentally used my dad’s cologne. Chocolate isn’t a note in this fragrance according to the note pyramid here or in the manufacturer’s description, but I smell it prominently. I’m not sure if it’s my nose messing with me, or if there’s another component that can read as chocolate, but at least for me, I smell it as the base. Combined with the prominent smoke note, and almost dirt-y oudwood, it reminds me a lot of making s’mores on a campfire, if s’mores were much less sweet than they are in the real world. Dark chocolate burnt s’mores, maybe, but in the best possible way. Silage wise, this is a powerhouse. I think there’s maybe a few people overseas who didn’t smell it! It lasted twelve hours on me, and probably would have lasted longer if I hadn’t taken a shower. For a man, this would be an acceptable daytime scent, but for a woman, I think it is more of a night perfume. For either sex is a winter fragrance, I think it would be too heavy for warm or even mild weather, but that just may be my preference. Will probably give my sample to my brother, but it’s a well-balanced and unique fragrance that would probably suit someone other than me better. However, I feel I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the massive order fulfillment backup I experienced trying to purchase this. It took four months for my item to ship with minimal contact with the shop despite several information requests. It’s not entirely their fault. But I do think they could be a bit better about warning about the delays.

I got the oil sample, not the EDP. The notes I get are pipe tobacco, cardamom, and tea. It reminds me slightly of TF Tobacco Vanilla on my skin - sans vanilla. It lasts several hours on me. It's a very fall/winter scent. It smells like it should be worn by someone in a fair isle sweater in a cozy mountain cabin. I think it's a unisex scent but I tend to enjoy scents that lean towards masculine.

My 1st sample from this house and I must say that it is well blended. The notes bounce off of each other well. The opening is a dirty green almost soil like smell but the dry down is more spicy with a chocolate backdrop with a pinch of tea. Very complex but yet comforting. Performance is a bit above average. Will look more into the house eventually..

Like soil. Tea and smoke. A brief flash of cardamom. But mostly this reminds me of the smell from a garden on a hot summer day. 6/10

More cinnamon than cardamon, sweet yet bitter and herbal, tea, tobacco but not really smokey. This smells to me like cinnamon mixed with something bitter. Not one of my faves from the house.
