Muhwagua Mist

I'm on a constant search for fresh, *not* sweet, fruit scents, and I adore this. I love its tartness and personally love a scent that veers on sour. This is such a wonderful fresh fig scent that has impressive longevity for a body spray. I'm typically wary of fruity body sprays (too synthetic and sharp, cheaply cloyingly sweet, etc.) but this one doesn't swing that way. If you've smelled Old Navy's Sea Salt & Fig, this smells like that, minus the sharp saltiness that gave it cheap beach sunscreen vibes for me. Yes, this fragrance is admittedly linear, but for the price (and given how difficult a time I've had finding affordable mainstream tart fruit fragrances in the US), I honestly don't care. No, this isn't a sweet jammy figgy gourmand, nor an aggressively feminine interpretation of fruit which is so very common in Western mainstream perfumery; it doesn't purport to be! It's merely fresh fig. If you like tart fruits and have been disappointed by the residual sweetness of the more mainstream American fruit-forward scents typically suggested in forum discussions for readily available tart fruit perfumes in the US (like Mugler Angel Nova or Marc Jacobs Perfect), you'll love how un-sweet and un-gourmand this is. This is quite unisex as well. If you're trying to smell like a Fig Newton, yes, you'll be disappointed. Of note: consider not going into a fragrance purchase like an ethnocentrist, expecting a Korean house to cater to your limited palette and Western understanding of what a fig/fruit scent is "supposed" to smell like. In wearing a fruity perfume, not all of us want to smell like a Bath and Body Works store or a walking toaster pastry.

Fig tee in a bottle! My goodness! Having never tried this brand, I saw their mists available on a website I was ordering a few things from and decided to try this scent and White Rain. The scent from this was so unexpected! I opened the box and went to spraying, fully expecting frutiness, but it's immediately so green and woody! I'm not sure I could identify a fig tree by smell but this definitely smells like some sort of tree. I'm instantly transported to somewhere surrounded by trees and lush greenery. It doesn't have any earthy undertones like a forest so think more like a botanical garden. I cannot stress enough that this wood isn't just general "woody notes" like companies love to include in every other body mist. It actually smells like a whole tree. A slight fruity smell. Familiar green notes. And then that familiar smell of a tree trunk that I'd only previously smelt on actual trees. For me I honestly would have preferred if it were a bit more fruity but it's just such a realistic tree scent that I'm impressed with it, and see myself wearing it when I want to smell natural or when I want to be in nature but the weather won't cooperate. Is this the beginning of something for me? Do I need to activately seek out tree scents? I'm a body mist addict but have never smelt any that smelt so much like a real live tree.

if you like diptyque’s philosykos but can’t drop $200+, just grab this. i have a decant of the diptyque EDT and when i compare them side by side, i actually like the skybottle body spray more. philosykos has a harsh, almost scratchy quality to its initial spritz and it slightly lingers in the dry down. muhwagua is linear/simple, unisex but also addicting. to me it smells like an expensive fig/green luxury soap, the kind you’d find in a resort spa or 5-star boutique hotel. also- they have just about the same sillage and longevity (both weak and pretty short) but i got the SB spray for $10. no brainer!

anna.d13, ' ethnocentrist ' ? I expected this to smell like a pleasant shampoo vibe, instead it smells like something that's gone off and hay. It makes me choke. I threw it away instantly. So you're saying Koreans LIKE to smell like this? Impossible to fathom. I'm not about smelling ''interesting'', I want to smell clean and fresh. Especially since it's a hair fragrance. I do not like to smell like a patisserie or like Britney Spears. But not like a dead animal either. I must be asking for too much.

Same as Philosykos. Green fig, fresh and soft and natural at the same time. Love it
