Urban Rose

I actually layered it on top of Portrait of a Lady and it smelled great together. By itself, it is OK. I really like rose and I love pink pepper. I love spicy florals, I blind bought this from Ipsy. Despite the negative reviews, I think it is pretty good for an inexpensive perfume.

Not very rosy, not very lasting. I haven't been overly impressed with any of the Skylar offerings, for two reasons: (a) none of them seem to last very long, and (b) they don't seem to be made from quality ingredients, despite all the natural and pure advertising. Don't get me wrong. Except for an initial blast that smells more like the solvent used to extract the rose from the petals, rather than rose itself, the perfume does smell pretty good. It never fully loses that chemical smell, and I don't think this rose comes from English roses or Provence or Turkye roses: I think it comes from some kind of U.S. commercial rose garden. Fair enough; really quality rose attar or oil does not come cheap. But sadly, the happy period of rose and amber doesn't last long. Then it's gone. I layered it, first using Rosewater body wash, then Yardley English Rose powder after my shower, Rose & Charcoal antiperspirant from Secret, and finally, a careful application of my beloved and precious Roses de Chloe roller ball to my pulse points. This made it very satisfactory. I think I'll layer it with some Sandalwood powder from Yardley in future. I'll use all of this one, but there are better, although more pricey, roses to be found out there.

I actually don’t mind this ! I was nervous I wouldn’t like it but the vetiver really keeps it from being too old school rose like . I get the pepper notes , I get the rose and the rosewood and then the vetiver . I am so happy I finally subbed to skylar scent club! I bought this one on Ipsy but still , lately I’ve been on a skylar kick . This one sort of reminds me of commodity velvet bold . I think it’s velvet, one of the bold scents has rose and oud and that’s what this is giving me

A pleasant, rich, warm rose. I added a couple samples of bubbly-citrus perfumes (from other brands) because it was missing a little brightness. It's a little sultry, but still very wearable for the daytime. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Definitely more rosewood than rose... this is a spicy, woody rose without much sweetness. It smells like a fragrant wood cabinet with dried rose petals sprinkled across the top of it. Another user referred to it as one of the more challenging Skylar scents, and I agree — I don’t think this is a safe blind buy, even for rose lovers. I love rose fragrances, but I feel indifferent toward this one. If you’re looking for a spicy, darker rose for fall or winter, you might enjoy it.

I like to use this as a layering scent, but I generally don't wear this on its own. on its own, it's simply okay. I like that it has a little extra spice and citrus play with the rose note, but it's not a "wow" product for me. but, this is a good product for those who want a fresh, sweet rose scent without extra bells and whistles.

All I smell is rose and it's very strong. Lasts forever and ever. If you are looking for a rose that never ends this might be for you.

this is the green, unsweet, gardeny type of rose.

Deep, dry rose with a short-lived punch of violet at the beginning and spice that gets stronger as it dries down. It’s very dry, I wish it had some fruitiness to liven it up a bit

spicy at first, then settles into a scent reminiscent of a vintage dresser with dried rose petals on top. not my style, but good for someone who likes a warm spicy woody floral

Smells like a slightly woody window cleaner. Literally smell zero florals.

i can’t smell anything but the sharp, burnt, synthetic scent i get from iso e super. offensive

This will sound bizarre, but it’s rose mixed with the smell of a baby doll’s head. You know what I’m talking about- that plastic/powdery scent. That’s this perfume.
