Vanilla Sky

I really like this one. It is simple, sweet, and non-offensive. I definitely get a deeper sort of caramel-vanilla with this fragrance, with a hint of coffee, rather than anything artificial. I would say that this is a grown-up, more sophisticated version of Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works, rather than an overly sweet, artificial vanilla like Vanilla Bean Noel. The coffee adds a nice sort of balance to this sweet scent and makes it wearable for every day. However, when I got this scent, I couldn't help but feel like it smelled like shampoo. There is something in here that makes it smell like a vanilla soap or vanilla shampoo or a cleaning product of some kind. Walmart used to sell hazelnut cream candles, and it sort of smells like that to me. I don't mind it, but the fresh/soapiness quality makes this less of a gourmand for me, which I know helps make some scents more wearable. I wish the soapiness could be replaced with some warm spice, the notes say there's cinnamon, but I don't pick up on that. Regardless, I think this is the perfect scent to wear to work, or if you're at home snuggling on the couch. It's just a warm, cozy scent. I personally would wear this most frequently in the Fall or Winter, I'm wearing this today (August) and I think it has the potential to be overwhelming or suffocating in the heat. Longevity is moderate, it lasts a few hours on me (5-6) and then fades. Update: I took this on a trip recently and I just wanted to say that it lasted beautifully! It also changed on my nose a bit, so I updated my description.

Definitely a very “airy” vanilla... Vanilla Sky is aptly named! I do not get the actual liquid of a cappuccino from this, rather the foam on top of the drink itself. This is also a “fresh” vanilla; I’m surprised to see that fresh is not on the accords list. Different from any of the other vanillas in my collection, but I am also a vanilla lover and so I pay special attention to and appreciate the subtle differences between all vanilla fragrances. The dry-down is much different than the initial spray. You definitely get the citrus quite strongly for the first 10 mins or so (but it is a smooth citrus as opposed to sharp, and it is what gives the “airy/fresh” feel). After that, the jasmine really takes the spotlight and will carry you through the mid dry-down. At this point it smells quite floral to my nose (admittedly it does also smell synthetic, but I love that in a fragrance). The base notes last ALL NIGHT; I fell asleep last night at 8:30 and awoke this morning at 6:40 and could still smell it on my wrist... it had dried down to an amazingly creamy and delicious sweet scent, honestly sort of a “your skin but better” type of sweet. I love this vanilla!!! I have only experimented with it on cooler days, so I cannot attest to its performance in the summer months, but I am excited to find out (: this would probably be amazing sprayed on bedding too, as it is a very cozy and comforting scent.

Based on reviews, I was prepared to be underwhelmed. But wow, this one performed like a beast on my skin - amazing projection! To me, it smelled like a creamy rootbeer float mixed with a thick, resinous amber. I usually don't like rootbeer-esque fragrances, but this is an exception - it's gorgeous! Dry down (took about an hour on my skin to get there) was a soft, creamy vanilla solinote. There was zero coffee to my nose/on my skin. A beautiful, sweet, cozy but somehow sexy amber-vanilla that I'm now addicted to - feels perfect for fall! It also reminds me of the girls on the show Pretty Little Liars for some reason - kind of their flirty, feminine style and a bit of a Victoria's Secret "lacey/noir/sexy" perfume vibe. I only wish it lasted longer.

In the opening I get a little blast of lovely coffee which quickly tones down to a caramel macchiato you are enjoying with a vanilla glazed donut at a solid wood countertop in a boutique coffee shop. I can detect a very little bit of that sweet orange in the background but it is very little and doesn’t add any juiciness or sharpness to the scent. It has a lovely sweetness but it is not overpowering or sickly to my nose. The vanilla has a lightness that makes me envision something sugared but fluffy like the donut I described. This fragrance projects at arms length for the first few hours then draws back to more of a skin scent. Really nice for when you don’t want to overwhelm those around you. This one is also a favorite of my wife and kids.

I don't know if it's the "clean" element of Skylar fragrances having absolute shit longevity or what (although 7 Virtues, Rosie Jane and Ellis don't seem to have this issue) but yeah, longevity sucks for the $90/1.7 oz retail price point. Obviously I don't expect them to be "Beast mode" :) ⬆️ but when body mists like bbw, vanilla skin, and even SDJ mists outlast a $90 fragrance, it's an issue. I own and really enjoy Vanilla Sky, Boardwalk Delight and Fall Cashmere but they hands down do. not. last! They are cozy, enjoyable nostalgic scents that are very short lived, unfortunately. Very nice but expect to reapply frequently.

I received this as a sample and was taken by complete surprise. Scents that are warm sugar and heavy on vanilla and caramel are ones I usually stay away from, so I was very surprised that I fell in love with Vanilla Sky. It is a very warm scent, but the cappuccino, floral, and citrus notes pull this together beautifully. I love the smell of fresh coffee, but I never thought about having it as a fragrance. It feels like a warm hug from a friend you haven't seen in a while and you are meeting at the cafe to catch up. I wore this all fall and winter and will absolutely be getting more!

I would like to know if someone is having the same issues as me. I've used this scent for years and it has always smelled the same and great. I bought an amazon bottle and I can barely smell any vanilla or coffee. Almost all I smell is "perfume" and that's it, not the notes themselves, which makes this perfume awful. Then I got a couple more bottles from the official website and I'm having the same issue. I just compared it to the body mist and I can completely see the differences. Idk if they changed the formula or what on earth happened but it's absolutely awful right now

I love vanilla sky, I just received it for test in the subscription box, and it stole my heart the most out of everything! It's simple vanilla, but the best simple vanilla I've ever smelled. The sweetness is just enough for me, and it doesn't smell synthetic or gross and playdough-ey. I'll rate it an 8/10, because I do wish it lasted longer, and it is quite expensive for what it is. My boyfriend initially didn't like it, but when I wore it to his house the other day, he smelled me and really loved it! So I think it does have to grow on certain people.

I have the roller ball for this as I got it as a sample in my allure box. I’ve had this in the past as well and really like it. I find myself reaching for it at night after a hot bath I roll it on right before bed. It’s a very cozy vanilla scent and honestly I didn’t get the coffee note till I read it was in it. I get mostly a lightly spicy vanilla. It has s little bit of a ‘cheap’ smell to it as I find with all skylar perfumes but I still wear it nightly so that says something. (:

really good staple scent to have! smells soooo good without being too overpowering. it's also nice to layer or combo with. i get a lot of compliments on this one, even though it's a simple scent. it's also not too strong, which i really enjoy. it's obviously not "top tier" in terms of some vanilla fragrances, but i think it's easily over looked. i feel like skylar products are also more affordable in comparison to some other fragrance brands, so it's good value.

Smells warm, sweet, and comforting. To me it smells like brown sugar vanilla, cappuccino, and a tiny bit of cedar. I love it and probably will always have this. Like many have said, it doesn't last very long or project well. But I think it's perfect to wear around the house, cozy in the blankets with a book and beverage, after the shower, or running errands in the fall. If you love sweet smells but most perfumes give you headaches, please try this!!

One of the ways I gauge perfumes is whether they increase or decrease anxiety. This one is my go-to soothing fragrance. It is incredibly comforting and relaxing. It's the pajamas of perfumes! The fragrance itself is an uncomplicated, warm and creamy vanilla. I don't smell any coffee, but something here smells drinkable, so maybe the steamed milk aspect of the cappuccino comes through. It's not strong, but it lasts forever on clothes.

Although the name is Vanilla Sky, this is more of a cappuccino fragrance as some have said. It's very warm and cozy which is perfect for fall/winter. It's a sweet gourmand for sure, the citrus/woody notes aren't super prominent if you ask me, I think they may add a little bit of freshness but that's about it. It lasts about 3-4hrs on me and the sillage is moderate at first but quickly turns intimate.

One of the very few gourmands I don't find heavy or cloying. Really good longevity and eternal sillage. Stayed over 12h on my clothes and skin. I smell straight-up vanilla cappuccino and it's so cozy and comforting. I have a 1.5 ml sample but would purchase a bottle of it, even though I love clean scents and I'm not really a fan of gourmands. Well done, Skylar.

I bought the travel size in NY while visiting this summer, didn’t spray until today smelled so nice in the initial spray then got pissed why didn’t I get the bigger bottle. The dry down is where I’m like I’ve smelled this before I have something similar, 2 hours later it hit me, it smells exactly like Nest Vanilla Bourbon. It’s uncanny

Absolutely stunning, and realistic. Makes you smell like the most delicious cappuccino! I find that, despite its warm scent, it works for any season. It's gotten me soooo many compliments. Not too strong or nauseating like some other scents with notes of vanilla and caramel. also, I love pairing it with the lush date lotion.

Absolutely amazing scent. A bit mature vibe, but it's delicious. Sadly it's a bad performer. While the projection is kind of good, it will project for like 10 minutes because the longevity is very poor. Too bad because the scent itself is fantastic. Scent 10/10 Longevity 2/10 Projection 6/10

this is a very airy gourmand that you can wear year round or as a layering scent. i don't get any citrus or jasmine from this, maybe only a bit of cinnamon to balance it out. it dries down to a beautiful caramel woody vanilla and i get decent longevity from this, about 5 hours on my skin.

My husband loves this one on me. It smells like a sweet, vanilla caramel. Perfect winter/fall scent for daytime or date night wear. Only lasts about 1-2 hours on skin and longer on clothing. Stays intimate, and doesn't project much. Smells wonderful, but wish it lasted longer.

Imagine my pleasant surprise when the very sweet vanilla scent turned into a delicious coffee smell. The cappuccino note carries for the majority of the wear once dried down, very comforting smell and would definitely turn heads and have people asking who smell so good.

When I smell Vanilla Sky, I don't get any of the citrus notes. Instead, I get burnt vanilla, cappuccino and caramel...and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's a very cozy and pleasant fragrance. Perfect for coffee-lovers and fans of vanilla.

This is beautiful. The cappuccino, vanilla, and caramel are the star notes of this fragrance. It's smooth, milky, & sweet. A gorgeous gourmand. It's definitely similar to Eilish, but even closer to Midnight Amber Glow by Bath & Body Works.

One of my favourite vanillas but it doesn’t last or project as well as I’d like. Smells amazing, though. I do get a tiny hint of orange in the opening. For the most part it’s very vanilla with a small amount of creamy caramel coffee.

This is sooooo good. This is what I wanted the OG black opium to be! Warm, comforting.. i definitely get the coffee. It’s a basic scent, but could easily be a staple in any collection! I love it. Good, easy fall reach.

A really light vanilla scent that isn't as "baked-goods" (which I actually like) as some other gourmand scents. Not very musky, just sweet. It'd be perfect year-round since it sits so light on the skin.

This is my favorite vanilla perfume and I am very picky about vanillas. Smells sweet and gourmand but not artificial. Perfect for layering. The sillage and longevity is disappointing. Way overpriced.

I love this so much but the lasting power is really bad, I get about an hour of wear before it disappears. To me this is a softer version of YSL black opium and it’s delicious

Smells like a vanilla cappuccino without being overly “coffee” if that makes sense. I like it but I prefer Kayali’s Vanilla 28 as it’s more straight Vanilla.

This is the first perfume I've ever enjoyed. I love it a lot, although I wish the cappuccino smell were stronger. It smells sweeter once it dries down.

It does NOT smell like Warm Vanilla Sugar, it does NOT smell like Fresh Cream WC, and it does NOT smell like Black Opium. People need to stop lol

Sweet, Warm, Creamy, Woody and an oh so Cozy Vanilla! Vanilla Sky does remind me a bit of B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar, yet different, more complex (although not too complex, still rather simple, but that’s ok!), and much better! Very sweet and creamy with the vanilla, caramel, and cappuccino. The amber adds a really beautiful golden warmth to the whole fragrance. The sandalwood, cedar, and cinnamon bring a really lovely, warm, woody, and overall cozy feel that makes this such a wonderful fragrance especially for fall and winter! This is just such a really pretty fragrance! It really can be worn during anytime of the year, but personally I do prefer it during the colder months of fall and winter. I think this one is a safe blind buy for vanilla lovers! Vanilla Sky has good performance on me. The longevity is decent... it lasts most of the day on me, but I would apply more if I were going out later. The projection is nice too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. This was not at all what I expected! I am a true vanilla gourmand lover, and that’s just not what this is. It’s a pretty scent though. I’ve learned to accept it for what it is, and the fact that it’s simply not the rich dessert-y coffee vanilla scent I was hoping for. I almost wouldn't have even chosen to put 'Vanilla' in the name of this perfume to be honest. To me there is something weirdly nostalgic about this perfume, I can’t even explain how to describe how strong the feeling is, it somehow takes me back in time. When I spray this I always instantly get transported back to a mall in the 90s, walking around with a magazine and a cookie. I’ve had this perfume for a few weeks now, and I find it so interesting how so many reviews mention that this smells like caramel and coffee/latte vibes, why do I not get those notes as strongly? I smell them a little more in the dry-down at least. I just wish I got a lot more vanilla/coffee/caramel aromas. Overall, I think it’s the bergamot and orange notes that form this scent into what it becomes. Those notes are pretty prominent to me in this, and what makes it not be a creamy baked-good type of vanilla. It’s sweet and comforting and soft though. I like it but I don’t LOVE it. It’s nice overall.

I love the actual scent of Vanilla Sky, but its lack of projection is disappointing—it’s far too intimate for my liking. The fragrance itself is a sweet vanilla gourmand, with an amazing cappuccino note that really stands out. It was my introduction to coffee-based fragrances, and since then, I’ve discovered others like Amore Caffe by Mancera. Unfortunately, the sillage and longevity of Vanilla Sky leave much to be desired. For a fragrance priced at $90 USD for 50ml (1.7 fl oz), this feels like highway robbery. I honestly think it would be better suited for a more accessible store, like Walmart or Target, rather than Sephora. Luckily, I got this as part of a Sephora sampler kit for $30 USD and redeemed it for a travel rollerball, but I was stuck with it after realizing the kit was nonrefundable. As the saying goes, “Good things don’t last,” and this is literally true for Vanilla Sky. It’s a lovely scent, but it fades away far too quickly to justify the price. TLDR: -Love the actual notes (gourmand, vanilla sweet coffee) -Does not last AT ALL -Too $$$ given that it doesn't last

Despite the impressive selection of notes here, Skylar Vanilla Sky is a straight shooter and a soft touch. It's a light, sweet, gentle, intimate skin scent. This is the most gentle and inoffensive vanilla fragrance I've ever tested. This is a subtle gourmand–almost airy, ethereal, breezy and very youthful. There's the slightest lactonic quality to the drydown, with a hint of sparkling freshness to it. It reminds me of Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar, but with the temperature and density turned down. Vanilla Sky is pretty linear–despite the amber and sandalwood listed here, it's not the most long-lasting fragrance and it doesn't have great projection. However, there's an upside to the soft sillage and power. Unlike most vanillas, which can be cloying, heavy, boozy or sequestered solely to the colder seasons, Vanilla Sky could potentially work as an all-seasons fragrance, depending on your climate. While not the most impressive vanilla out there, it's pretty decent and a foolproof, versatile choice. I'd imagine this would be fantastic for layering.

I love this vanilla. No it isn’t complex or interesting and thats what I like about it, as a vanilla lover I’ve got enough complex and intriguing vanillas. Woodsy ones, resinous ones, balsamic ones, boozy ones, spicy ones. Sometimes you just need good ol’ reliable and thats what Vanilla Sky is. I don’t think its comparable to cheap body spray vanillas though, the notes smell refined and well blended and my *old* darkened bottle lasts all day as an intimate scent bubble, which is usually what you want with super sweet linear fragrances. I’m so confused about the coffee/cappuccino note though, I’ve got an old bottle, maybe 3 years old atp, but I get more coconut cream/meringue than anything coffee related. It almost reminds me of the creamy notes in D&G Devotion. Almost tropical but not sunscreeny. I think I may be anosmic to coffee in perfumery because I make a fresh pot in my house every single day, and enjoy at least 3 cups so nothing ever smells like coffee to me besides coffee.

I was really surprised when I tried this as I was expecting a vanilla and coffee-heavy scent based on the comments. This is not it. It’s a blend of several gourmand notes (largely a “milky” note, which is probably what is supposed to be the cappuccino, along with cinnamon and a touch of vanilla), plus citrus and jasmine to round it out. The former provides warmth, but It’s the latter that makes this smell clean. Overall, this perfume reminds me of what I imagine a warm, clean cashmere scarf would smell like. It’s sexy and feminine, and unlike anything I’ve ever smelled before. In the dry down, I do notice some similarities to Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar however. Longevity is quite decent - it starts off quite strong and slowly fades into a beautiful skin scent. Since it’s on the heavier side, this scent would definitely be better suited for the colder months. It's also quite sweet - so if that isn't your jam, this might not be for you.

To my own surprise, I really like Vanilla Sky on both paper and skin. A few Skylar frags I tested in the past were headache-causing scrubbers so I waited a full 24 hours after testing on paper to test on skin. This sits close to the skin and is a clean, intimate gourmand. For context, I love Pinrose's Secret Genius, and this is like a toned-down version of that with an additional hint of coffee. That cappuccino note makes Vanilla Sky read to me almost a little like a bubble milk tea shop, but in a pleasant way. Secret Genius is the loud “sexy and she knows it” sister. Vanilla Sky is the equally gorgeous but shyer “you don’t know you’re beautiful” sister. That said, this kind of sweet caramel vanilla fragrance has been done many times before, so if you already have something similar, you probably don’t need a bottle. If, however, you’re on the search for a well done version of something like this, this is a solid option.

I got sent this sample from Sephora and I was really excited to receive this! (I’m a huge vanilla lover and I am looking to experiment with more perfumes) and I would say that this lives up to the hype! I can smell a more spicy element to vanilla, I personally like my vanilla a little bit more sweet, but it isn’t a dealbreaker. I don’t really smell the coffee but I can smell the caramel! If you like your vanilla on the more spicy side, I would definitely recommend this. Would I wear it? This is a maybe, I think it’s best suited for fall and winter, it gives off a more cozy vibe. I need one that is show-stopping and this one is more for the user that appreciates intimate-to-moderate perfumes. It definitely is a beautiful blend of vanilla and amber though, so for that reason, it’s an 8/10 for me. :)

Not bad. It sort of smells like Forever Red by Bath and Body Works. It also shares some similarities with Hugo Boss The Scent For Her Intense. I seem to get a raisin note, but also an apple note like in Forever Red, and something boozy. Maybe also an orange note. Almost like a Christmas fruitcake or raisin bread. I do smell the coffee, but it's not a simple, straightforward vanilla coffee scent, there's a lot going on. The coffee-vanilla aspects become more pronounced as time progresses. It's a light scent, but it somehow has a big sillage cloud that can make a room smell lovely, but not in an overpowering way. The sillage cloud actually smells like brown sugar cotton candy.

I got a roller ball of this perfume. My first impression of this fragrance is that it really does smell cheap. Smells like something bath & body works would come up with or an inexpensive brand sort of fragrance. I get a mash up of vanilla with a strong synthetic musk. Sort of an ambery note and a hint of coffee. I do think the fragrance itself does smell good. However, the brand skylar is trying to pass this off as some kind of luxury fragrance and I don't think that fits at all. For a roller ball the projection is pretty great which I like. Just doesn't smell like a quality vanilla fragrance though. I can tell they cut corners.

It’s a pretty basic vanilla that I find to be a good base for layering or can stand on its own. The opening is very foody, yummy vanilla. The dry down on my body chemistry is actually really deep and hinting more on the woody/amber side than vanilla. The vanilla sweetness is there but the woodiness is far more pronounced. It lasts a couple hours on me, or at least I notice it for a couple hours. I think it’s a safe perfume and can see a variety of people liking it! I really like it and can see myself purchasing a full bottle as opposed to just the rollerball.

I feel as though this is a very realistic Vanilla-Caramel Cappuccino with Foam. It’s light so it’s definitely good for year round. It’s Cappuccino not Coffee so it’s not super strong. It’s Sweet; Pretty; Gourmand and I think it’ll layer very well with more strong “Coffee” Scents may Black Opium or Coffee Break and be really pretty with Vanilla’s maybe Vanilla 28; Dulce or Private Show...so I do plan to play around with it some. Is it ground breaking no but I don’t need everything to be.

Beautiful Vanilla! This could be someone’s staple. If Vanilla 28 did not exist, this would be rushing to be in my collection. Not that they are super similar, but they do process the simple and edible vanilla gourmand that I always wanted in my collection. For a super discount I will probably purchase although I already have my vanilla. Edit: I just tried it again and definitely got the opening of Japanese Cherry Blossom! Am I the only one that can smell that?

Agree that it is a safe blind buy. Very soft sweet vanilla with a slight floral amber note. On opening it has a bit more citrus but that disappears very quickly. This is a pretty scent, but it is very generic and doesn't last very long or project very far. I would say this is a great starting point if you want to try a vanilla without it being too expensive, overwhelming, or gourmand. To me, this feels more like a body spray than a perfume.

Very sweet and gourmand vanilla. I can see how the cappuccino and caramel notes are in here. Quite feminine, but I think that the same type of guy that likes the prominent vanilla note in Tobacco Vanille could like this. It’s lighter/brighter and missing the tobacco note, but they are in the same ballpark if you’re a confident type of dude. It’s still warmish and a bit powdery, which makes me think this might be a year-round type of scent.

I have a tiny spray sample of this, I don’t know if that would affect the longevity and scent very much but I wanted to mention it. Blink and you miss it, but every second is bliss. Such a pretty and clean vanilla. I do not get any coffee, but I also do not get any jasmine, which finds me no matter what. It’s a straightforward vanilla/amber combo that smells amazing but then disappears WAY too soon for the price point.
