Kiste

I'm a newcomer to Kiste. I don't have the fortune of knowing what "old Kiste" smelled like, thus, I cannot compare this newest iteration to it. "New Kiste", "Black Cap Kiste", "Winter Kiste", "Kiste '22", or whichever moniker will catch on and last through the ages. That's what I'm reviewing. So I simply offer my independent take on...Kiste. The juice is red. Perhaps this is affecting my opinion, or perhaps, my lack of familiarity with Kiste Through The Ages affords me a fresh, objective take. I expected tobacco absolute and ripe peaches, though that isn't what I get. In the opening, I get a melange of fruit. Red fruit. Stewed, dried, and jammy red fruit, much like a compote or a reduction. I can spot peach, but it's a dense, saturated, jammy peach preserves peach. That 100 year old jar of peaches that Zero finds in Holes, and calls "Splooge". Yikes... While nothing relating to "splooge" comes to mind whilst smelling Kiste, it does remind me of that scene, and *that* type of peach. In addition to this, I get a prominent cranberry-cherry note, which evokes rather festive, wintertime associations. Jammy, reduced cranberry, cherry, and peach compote, along with just a kiss of dried apple rings - lightly spiced with some festive flair, lending some cozy warmth, which is accentuated by the darker, deeper character of the tobacco. Tobacco, which, to my nose, trends much more dry and leafy - like a fine unlit cigar, rather than the sweet, sticky burley absolute that Jeke may call to mind. I do not pick up on anything that makes me think of vanilla, though I do get what I believe to be a thread of tonka bean - that sweet, soft, almost powdery spice nuance, which I think helps dilute the tartness of the fruit, and draw further attention to the tobacco element, which remains rather subtle. There's a honeyed sweeteness at the heart of this, but as much as I know and love honey in perfume, I simply do not pick a ton of honey up here. What I do find is a dense, golden, almost liquid sultana facet that reminds me more of sweet mead, than honey itself. As if the foody, syrupy, familiar aspects of honey have been fermented out, leaving behind the stencil outline. So what DOES it smell like to me? Boozy! If everything I have just described could be boiled down to the essentials, much like Kiste seems to be boiled down to this delicious jammy reduction, it would read: A rich, sweet, concentrated melange of jammy red fruit and peach compote - steeped in a boozy, honeyed elixir, and lightly spiced with some festive flair, settling into to a warm, gently woody base, with some soft, subtle dried potpourri facets, and a dim halo of dry leafy tobacco sitting atop. Christmassy, cozy, sweet, and comforting, with an alluring pull, and a subtle reminder of late summer's golden rays, shimmering above the top end. A far cry from my expectations, but a beautiful perfume nonetheless, and one I'm most pleased to have and become familiar with.

All is right in the world if art like this continues to be made. I feel generous wearing Kiste so I will share a little secret of mine: I recently changed my method of application for extraits: I give one true spritz to the back (hairy-side) of my left arm about 6 inches above the top of my wrist and "cross dab" on the corresponding spot of my right arm. Why apply this way ? -Hair provides more surface area for the materials to cling to -Unlike the wrists which rubs everything - keyboards, table edges, the insides of pockets - the back of the arms hardly sees much friction/rubbing -At work or at dinner, I can casually rest my face in my palm and discreetly smell my fragrance of the day wafting up my sleeves -Some fragrances like Kiste highlight different facets on either arm - weird, i know, but true for me Anyway. Everyone has his or her own methods, and I have a few more that give me different experiences - PM me with yours I'm genuinely curious. With the above method of application, Kiste has been going for 17+ hours and is now hovering about 2 inches above my skin. Regarding the experience of wearing Kiste - where do I begin? In short, Kiste will make a synesthete out of you. It paints several vivid pictures, conjures up feelings, ghosts of flavors on your tongue, and is transportive. I'm sitting on a porch at dusk, smoking a pipe, eating peaches and bread and honey-butter. I'm very new to this, so the only other fragrance I know of which paints such vivid images is UNUM Opus 1144 which teases you with a lemon/lime custard dessert you can drool over but never eat. The first few hours surround me in a honeyed, burnt orange halo. The *almost too sweet* peach opening gives me a pleasant lurch in my stomach and makes me reckon with the perfume. I cannot shake the image of sniffing a fine cigar and then chewing on the end. I am surprised no one has mentioned this, but the whole fragrance has a slight salted butter texture/smell/taste. The cigar dances just out of reach for the first hour, then you catch it, pin it down and crack it open down the middle (sacrilege!) and then clean out the tobacco contents and unfurl the inner wrapper (you know what I mean ;-)) and take deep whiffs. See you later. 17 hours later, the tobacco persists, the peach is gone, there is a boozy after taste. Overall, this fragrance is a presence. It does not wear you and you do not wear it. It accompanies you throughout the day crooning, with its voice like black molasses, "you are not alone...".

I had Black Orchid from TF and I'm sorry, but this is no where near it. Worth pointing out I'm not compatible with BO and passed it on after several attempts. Kiste is a drunk peach. A peach that has been ripening for so long in the sun that it became alcoholic and honey sweet at the same time. Backdrop of Patch keeps this far far away from being a girly fruit candy scent. Plus the sweet pipe tobacco...probably the tonka influence. It is peculiar and beautiful. A bit balsamic. I'm between Kiste and Sadanne. They are both the alcoholic fruit offerings from this house. Sadanne being the strawberry in heavy white wine. Besides these two my fav is Ore, the smokey delight maybe more tipical for this house, but at the moment I have plenty of other similar frag so it will have to wait. But to go back to Kiste. This is for someone who has lived. Someone who has experience. Someone who has walked the wild side, but has managed to play it wisely. You need to know who you are and what you want for this perfume. I find it potent, confident and erotic. Yes sweet, but also drunk, mature, powerful...even sinistre. No innocents can wear this. Suitable for year round use, day & night. On a hot summer day maybe go light on the nozzle & use it only for a night out. This is not your usual peach frag with a dash of flowers to be worn lightly... This is a heavy dirty peach. I like heavy scents, orientals & incense. I'm usually bored by watery, fruity scents. Do no care about greens. Love woods thou. This is the type of fruits I have been after. Super projection & longevity. Do not need much of this. I feel it is wise to sample first. EDIT: I tried the Viktoria Minya Hedonist and Kiste is a heavier, stronger, drunker & dirtier big brother. Very similar I have to say. Hedonist is purely feminine I feel, as Kiste is absolutely unisex. Love them both, but I do not need both full botles at the same time.

As I write this, a bowl of peaches—probably the last of the summer—sits behind me, ripening on the kitchen counter. That earthy, sweet, rich fragrance is all here in Kiste—not one element of the listed notes is neglected or out of place. This is a sticky sweet peach and tobacco scent, thick and heavy but a little dark and deep, especially as it ages on the skin. As others have mentioned, it seems perfect for the waning days of summer and into fall, with its burning, shimmering amber hue. It's a little melancholic, but still sensuous. There's a moment of unpleasant booziness in the very beginning, but it does fade after a bit, for which I'm thankful. I usually spray my chest, and as such the scent clings to my shirt (I'd never risk spraying any Slumberhouse directly on clothing... seems like you're asking for a stain). On skin, this develops into a soft patchouli, but where it lingers on fabric it retains its peach brightness for much longer. I had been trying to decide between Baque and Kiste and in the end I decided to buy both... Not my most frugal decision, but not one I regret, either. To spend just a moment to discuss their differences, since their descriptions share a lot in common (tobacco, stone fruit). Baque is even more tobacco-forward, and a lot richer—the vanilla replaces the honey and really amps up its cedarwood backbone. Its fruity but not as intensely so as Kiste—apricot being a bit more subdued than peach anyway. Texturally, its fitting, though, as the salty-dry drydown of Baque's ambergris makes it a more savory affair. In full disclosure, I prefer Baque, but they're both amazing and beautiful compositions, and very different from one another. My bottle of Kiste will not go neglected. (9/10)

I'm absolutely not a fan of sweet and fruity fragrances. Usually everything sweet just makes me nauseous. Despite my preferences, I wanted to sample as many Slumberhouse perfumes as possible including Kiste. That being said, I was absolutely blown away when I first applied this on my skin. I've had tested Robert Piguet's Visa earlier on the same day and, because of that, my first thought was "Oh my god, this is Visa on steroids". Of course the first impression vanished as I realized they're very different fragrances and that, in fact, there's nothing like Kiste. I've never smelled anything like it before and I love it when that happens! To my nose, Kiste smells like fruit tea with lots of honey. And pipe tobacco of course. Slumberhouse has the richest and the most realistic pipe tobacco notes I've ever smelled. It's so hard to actually describe the smell of Kiste with words, because ahhhhh it's just so pleasing synesthetic experience. Like I was bathing in comfortably warm lava that smells and tastes like the most delicious peaches and honey and there's pipe smoke rising from it to the sky like fog and there's dark blue starry skies. Everything is round. Suddenly it's very hot and it's summer, I'm a child again and I'm in countryside laying in hay but the hay feels like silk and there's fermenting fruits on the ground and the farmer, who is a friendly old man with a heart of gold, is smiling and smoking his pipe. This scent just makes me happy. I don't even know if it suits me, but I like it and I'm going to wear it whenever I need comforting. This is the best sweet fruity scent there is. Very realistic and beautiful.

KISTE from Slumberhouse is easily my favorite offering from the house, and while most people would think of Autumn or Winter when smelling it, for me, it has always been a staple to wear during Summer. I believe Josh had thought of it the same when he created it. I see KISTE as an agrestic with a twist. I smell no tobacco in it. Maybe a tad bit in the newer version. KISTE is all about the overripe peaches and berries, drenched in honey, left to spoil in the field and served with some tea on the side. It doesn't make sense as a whole is blocky and monotonous, but to me, it is perfect. In the high Summer heat, I find it intoxicating. As soon as the body heats up, it works its magic, or at least on my skin. It pulls out the wildflowers and an almost freshly cut grass smell that makes me think of the fields. Fruits and honey are well balanced by the tea, floral, and hay-like accords. The newest version smells almost identical but feels better put together and more cohesive, with more "tobacco," while the honey note is imbued with a perceivably pissy quality. The original iteration feels more "carefree". Another way I like to picture this perfume is having a fruit basket picnic in the fields in the heat of Summer and bringing some cold, steeped green tea to quench your thirst. If you think it would never work out in the heat, please give it a shot. You might be pleasantly surprised. Oh, and another thing. Spray it as far away from your nose as possible. It's one of those perfumes that work their magic when sniffed in the air/sillage rather than close up on the skin. IG:@memory.of.scents

This stuff is so amazing that I'm about to tear my hair out for going on a no-buy as of 4 days ago. WHY would I have to sample this right after starting a no buy? Ugh... It's a sweet, boozy peach that reminds me a bit of Hedonist, but stronger, with more sillage. And I hate to say it, but I actually think it's better than Hedonist (hate to say it because I'm a devoted fan of Viktoria Minya's, I think her perfumes are incredible). More bang for the buck with Kiste, I'd say - incredible longevity too. It also reminds me a lot of Ambre Narguile, but this is a spiced peach pie instead of an apple one. I also detect sweet tea in this, especially at the beginning. The booziness isn't sharp or alcohol-y (as it can be in so many "boozy" fragrances)-- it's rich and luxurious without being overwhelming. This is also feminine enough to work beautifully as a women's scent, but with enough masculinity for men to wear comfortably as well. I feel like the tea and the tobacco really balance and "round out" the peach, preventing it from becoming sickly or cloying. Peach is such a common note, but this is a wonderful spin on it. The imagery this scent evokes is also praiseworthy-- so easy to picture yourself on a hot summer's day on someone's wraparound porch, drinking sweet tea and smelling your uncle's pipe tobacco (and I don't even HAVE an uncle who smokes tobacco! That's how suggestive and evocative this scent is!) Certainly the best fragrance I have tried in 2015. My highest recommendation. Edit- 2 weeks later... I broke my no buy on this... and it was worth it! Such a wonderful scent!

After one sniff this scent became my new signature. The scent just spoke to me and stirred up emotions deep within me. It is gorgeous! In norwegian "Kiste" means "coffin/chest". And the chest we speak of here could be the one mentioned in "Fifteen men on a dead man's chest. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum." It sure smells like that. Like sweet, boozy pirate. It is a highly evocative scent. It creates pictures in my mind. I see an old wooden pirate ship filled with pirates drinking rum and whiskey, and smoking shisha (waterpipe), while sailing along hot, humid coastlines of caribbean islands. I can imagine Captain Barbossa smelling like this. And strangely enough I can also picture Conan wearing this type of scent. Like sweet, dry grassland grass, dark, smoke filled taverns, spicy liquor and that soft animalic sweetness of honey. Although the images I get in my head while smelling Kiste is mainly masculine, I love and wear this. The scent does have softer, more feminine undertones of sweet tea and honeysuckle. The scent is so rich and deep and wonderfully complex in it's sweetness. The sillage is great and I can smell Kiste on my skin for hours and hours. This is true quality - and, in my mind, a beautiful masterpiece!

Utter delight. I suspect this is a love it or hate it fragrance. I love it. Especially in the heat. The notes and voting might say fall/winter but trust me on this she's two different perfumes. One in the cold, one in heat. In the winter/fall she's honeycomb, waxy, filled with pollen. Peaches and patch with warm spiced pipe tobacco. Very pleasant, very wearable however... In the summer/heat this (like Serge Lutens Chergui) blooms. The honey *melts* and becomes liquid gold, sweet and rich, the kind you can feel in the back of your throat it is so decadent. They pollen becomes fresh, floral and the tobacco is sun warmed. In the summer this is a porch in Georgia, eating fresh peaches drizzled with honey while someone smokes a pipe and the bees buzz and the heat simmers. An all time favorite for me and a masterful creation. (Go easy, one or two sprays of this lovely is all you need ALL day. I prefer to spray on my chest for wafts of fragrance as I move and to keep it a little closer projecting.)

Kiste truly evokes the idealized, pastoral south to my nose. Sweet, candied peach preserves, warm pipe tobacco, goopy honey and some subtle patchouli. I don't pick up much else, but It doesn't smell like it really needs anything else. The overall composition is focussed and fully realized from a conceptual and technical point of view. The peach is profound, but the fragrance is so well blended that it does not come across as particularly fun or youthful. This is an older, world-worn peach that smokes cigars and likes to get lost in the forest. At first I was weary that Kiste was a bit too thick and sweet for me to wear, as the opening is undeniably rich and viscous. Thankfully the dry down lightens up quite a bit and while the sweetness remains prominent, the overall density of the fragrance changes and it becomes much more wearable. Totally unique, wearable, surprisingly versatile, and refreshing. Don't hesitate to give this one a try. 8/10

it does not smell like peach at all. It’s completely dried apricot. very different Vs Peach. Mainly Dried Apricot with very good tobacco note supported by honey Very pleasant and lovely especially for Fall and cold days of Spring You can Blow your room with 1 Spray and with 3 Spray your house will explode. Only problem is the price point . very expensive but totaly worth to try once for life time. _______________________________________________ این عطر اصلا بوی هلو نمیده . بلکه به شدت بوی قوی قیصی میده ( آلوزرد خشک شده ) به همراه تنباکویی با کیفیت و مقداری عسل در پیش زمینه رایحه. خیلی خوشایند و با کیفیت . و اینقدر رایحه و پخش قوی ای داره که با 1 اسپری میتونید اتاقتون رو و با 3 اسپری خونتون رو بفرستید روی هوا . واقعا بهترین فصل استفاده برای این عطر پاییزه ولی میشه توی روز های سرد بهار هم استفاده کرد. مشکلش قیمتشه. خیلی گرونه . داشتن همون 2-3 میل سمپل کافیه که ازش لذت ببرید . If Viktoria Minya Hedonist and Hiram Green Slowdive had a baby... And those are two of my favorite scents so you know I love this one. This is the same boozy, swoony, luscious peach as Hedonist but made darker, deeper, sweeter with tobacco and dried fruits. The honey note is brooding and dense and almost chewy. If there were a goddess for the last weeks of summer, this would be her scent. It's unabashedly sensual but also a little melancholy... twilight at the end of August, drunk on rum and eating the very last sweet peach of the season as the moon rises and the buzzing of insects around fallen fruit begins to drone. I must have a full bottle of this immediately.

This is an authentic tobacco fragrance, masterfully blended and unique among many others that are overly spiced and overtly vanilla. The peach is a beautiful twist, and the henna and elderberry add additional depth and interest. Skip Tobacco Vanille and Back in Black and treat yourself to a bottle of Georgia sunshine. It is sweet, gourmandy, uplifting and feminine to my nose, and it can get a touch potpourri-ish, but the whole package (including the bottle) is a work of art. 9.5/10 for the ladies or guys with a sweet tooth.

Kiste--what better way to spend a languid Southern summer's evening than with a serving of peach cobbler and a pipe. The peach is heavy, syrupy, a little boozy maybe, yet miraculously not too sweet; and it's spiced with cinnamon and cloves. The scent of dirt and dried hay linger in the air. This perfume almost makes me want to be a farmer. It's damn good!

I am giving this a big thumbs up. It is exactly what you would expect based on the notes pyramid. A strong but not-too-sweet peach, tobacco, honey scent- first and foremost. My wife feels it smells summery but I think it is a dark, strong, winter/night smell. It is quality! Strong! Long-lasting! Has great silage! Everything you expect of Slumberhouse.

There is a dire shortage of good quality heavy gourmands like Honey , Peach and wearable tobacco. This fragrance is my winter essential and so unique and high quality stuff. Slumber house needs more recognition in the niche perfumery community. At the same time the fragrances are hard to acquire. I look forward for future releases.

Kiste is the first truly magnificent perfume I've smelled in 2015. It has taken the bright sweetness of peach and morphed it into something rich and balsamic and kinky, with gnarled edges of unlit cigar (the only kind that smells good). Dazzling and worth smelling for anyone who's been bored for a while.

Oh I love this - but where is the almond note? There is definitely an almond note here, it's like almond extract but the good quality kind mixed with honey and fruits. Yumm like a good pastry filled with almond and fruit filling.

This is the best fruity fragrance I ever tried. I smell dried plums and cognac on a bed of tobacco. Absolutely gorgeous..

Tobacco, Peach, Scotch Heather, Tonka, Henna, Elderberry, Patchouli, Honey. One word: Glorious!

I knew Slumberhouse would create the best fragrance of all time. Thx. Josh Lobb;-)

A game changer. Just extraordinary what good perfume can do: I approached this with extreme caution because I HATE PEACH. Honey and tonka often cloy on me. I'm also a teetotaller, though I've liked many a rum or bourbon note in perfumes. And Kiste is about the most intensely peachy-sweet-liquory scent imaginable. But I'm half drunk on its beauty and damn near loving it. It's got the fierce bass hum of all the Slumberhouses, that thick, unapologetic, solid middle, performance to beat the band ... and the smell, oh my oh my. Rich and dark and almost-spicy tobacco wisely given a HUGE role, just kicky and punchy enough to cut the overwhelming, concentrated peachiness. Now peach in food or drink makes me gag. Sickly girly-peach in perfumes makes me grimace. Kiste's peaches are ripe, even overripe, unavoidable; just on the verge of that fermented-sunburnt-smouldering-hay accord in Sova ... and the scent's presence in sillage and projection is HUGE. All that should make this an absolute and total NO on me. But it's intoxicating. You know wild elephants often seek out overripe fruit from trees for a nature-brewed booze buzz? That's how I feel about this, and how I kept feeling while incessantly sniffing myself, half-wincing at the sheer peachiness of it all, then sighing with enjoyment. It's wrong yet oh so right. Even better yet, while during the early hours the liquor and fruitiness have me a little ambivalent in moments, the dry down after about 3 or 4h is a whole other phase of woozy, sweetly spicy, humid-moist-tobacco-laden pleasure, which hangs on for a wonderfully languid 4-6h more. Milder and softer, almost verging on a rich powdery rose in a moment here and there... it's just extraordinary. A gorgeous thing I never imagined I could even wear, much less love. Josh Lobb has made me a peach tree convert. Bamboozled by its blowsy, off-key down-home warmth and friendliness. It's a southern drawl in a perfume. Hot, sticky, sensual stuff. If it has this effect on me, Peach-Phobe-in-Chief, I can only imagine what it will do for those who love the note.

Kiste opens with a very boozy peach and a chocolatey patchouli note, which only lasts for a short time. The henna and tobacco in this remind me of hay at first. Overall this fragrance is a unique interpretation of peach. Not fresh and juicy, but like a cooked peach with a waxy honeyed texture. It makes me think of two very specific things: Unlit peach flavoured hookah tobacco and those rolled up beeswax candles we used to make in elementary school before Christmas. It's sweet, but not overly so, warm, interesting and pleasant. The scent gets more beautiful over time, as it dries down and all the notes melt together on the skin. A sunny and cozy fragrance for cold days and worth a try for anyone who likes the notes. Really strong, it lasts forever and projects very well. I would recommend everyone to try this, but I feel it's not for me. I guess I like my peach notes more traditional, for example a bit creamy or fresh and fruity. While Kiste is unisex and doesn't smell specifically masculine in any way to me, it also doesn't make me feel as feminine as I like to feel when I wear perfume. It's very neutral to me, if that makes any sense to you. PS: Does anyone know the meaning of the name 'Kiste'? In German, Kiste means box or crate, so it sounds a little weird and funny to me, as this is a very random word that has nothing to do with this scent :D

Gothic peach. It opens slightly herbal, and hay-like. Then sweet, dried-fruit nuances show up almost immediately, almost date-like, and tobacco becomes noticeable with its straw-dry character. In the opening and the heart, the fragrance is quite sweet, but not cloying. This is ripe, dense peach at full volume. In the background, there are also leather and incense nuances. While the peach is moving toward its drydown phase, it briefly leans into a vinyl, plastic baby-doll vibe. Once it dries down, it becomes more grounded, darkening with a warm, spicy base. Overall, it is a pleasant scent, but to truly enjoy it you need higher sweetness tolerance, and you have to like deep, boozy fruit in the leading role, like dried peach, sun dried apricot, dried dates, dried plum. My sample is from the older release, globe cap with the metal band. I feel like I arrived late to this house, but I am still happy to have tracked down and tested the older versions, even if it took some effort. Another fascinating entry from the house of Slumberhouse, Kiste is a concoction dominated by tobacco, whiskey, and most of all, peach. My goodness, how much peach there is--I'd almost forewarn that if you're not a fan of peach, this might not be for you, as I did find the dominance of the peach to be a bit overwhelming for me, a non-peach-lover. Still, there's certainly more to it than just the peach, as the tobacco, whiskey, honey, and patchouli create a sweet, boozy, slightly earthy blend. Neither the tobacco nor the patchouli outshine the sweet and boozy elements, though, which for me always remain center stage, and not in a shallow Peach Schnapps sense, but in a richer blend, and this remains relatively consistent throughout its life. At its extrait Slumberhouse concentration, Kiste follows suit with the house's other fragrances in offering great performance, though not quite as beastly as Norne, Jeke, or Ore. Still, lovers of Kiste will not be disappointed with its performance, even at pricing of $160 for 30ml. 7 out of 10

This house doesn't impress me much because of it's too heavy too dark stamps that stamps on each of their fragrances. Kiste is quite acceptable in my opinion, it is the tobacco, peaches on a plate made of honey. As time goes by the tobacco remains still but the peaches melts within the honey plate and becomes CRYSTAL CLEAR prints on the honey plate while the tobacco remains sharp on top of the plate and never melts or reforms, & that effect of the peaches and honey gives the impressions of the fruit note. Quite heavy at max but very accepted. (Edit 5th Feb) Wow, never thought that it could be possible, but this fragrance is quite inspired of Hedonist By Viktoria Minya, let's say Kiste is More of Peach & Tobacco and Hedonist is more soft and tenderly honey peaches. and to be specific, the Top notes smells quite similar but the middle and base note goes different ways, as Kiste remains strong & powerful while Hedonist goes light and greeny. Personally i prefer Kiste.

I wish I could say it is unique, but as soon as I gave it a spray, it reminded me of something I've smelled before but couldn't quite nail it. Finally! It reminded me of TF Black Orchid! No kidding! Following a tremendous boozy peach blast, once it settles, I get like a floral, jasmine, dirty orchid smell, quite feminine if you ask me. Very potent and huge sillage. Got a compliment from the cleaning lady as soon as I walked in. She thought it was the fake plastic flowers I was holding, she said it smelled very nice, very "minty". I was too embarrassed to say it was my cologne. Update Ok I guess I was too quick to make a judgement. After 2 hours the tobacco is starting make its way and the florals become fruity. Update 2 Ok maybe it doesn't smell like Black Orchid, now that I have them side by side, but they do have a similar vibe.

I got a sample of this and I finally tried it. I didn't really know what to expect from it, since I love peach but I'm on the fence with tobacco. It opens wonderfully, with a burst of amazing, sweet, and juicy peach, maybe a bit too drunk but this is her appeal after all. Immediately afterward come tobacco and fruits. These are the notes I smell the most, but sometimes I got a whiff of honey and tonka as well. I fear that it turns a bit bubblegum-like on my skin (EDIT: it may be the tea note everyone is talking about!). Unfortunately, tobacco in perfumes reminds me too much of my father, so I don't really see myself wearing a tobacco-centered scent because I feel it's too masculine for me personally - as with Chergui - but on other women this could be a bomb. It's elegant. This pretty much fills a room! And lasts a long time.

A fruity floral gourmand from the Slumberhouse line, this Southern Gothic beauty combines notes of peach and honey with tobacco, heather, tonka bean, henna, elderberry, and patchouli winningly to create a feeling of the bright with some dark lurking in the background.In my case I imagine sitting on the porch of a southern bungalow in the early 1900s on a summer day with the berry laden trees and someone who is smoking and having a scotch. Slumberhouse perfumes are usually uncommon and mysterious beauties that require an open and unconventional mind to appreciate. Same case here, this one is yet another keeper from this eclectic and eccentric house. Enjoy!

If you could imagine a jar of fermented peaches sitting on the counter in a cigar bar, that's what this smells like to me. It's a boozy syrup with a slightly bitter edge from the tobacco. It's an edgy, brawny gourmand, the kind even a lumberjack could wear. As far as the comparisons to Hedonist, Hedonist is far more girly and it's also heavier on the honey note. The tobacco in it is also a lot more gentle. Kiste is very good and very rich. The drydown is much more gently woody than the first couple of hours, and while it lingers on the skin, it doesn't project much after that. For some reason, it reminds me of Kentucky. Echoes of bourbon, maybe?

All the reviews here are correct. It smells like all of these things. Except the kitty litter – I don’t smell that. I noticed patchouli first. Then the dried apricots and raisins. Then honey. Then a subtle tobacco. But mostly patchouli and dried fruit. One spray was more than enough. It dried to a soft powdery incense. I think it’s beautifully balanced. I wish I liked patchouli more because even though I’m sensitive to it I still kept sniffing my arm and enjoying this perfume. I’m considering giving it to the hubby so I can enjoy it from a distance. If you like patchouli or incense, try this!

I own this and is one hugely bourbony peachy medicinal syrup bomb! I sprayed this on several minutes before heading into our favorite sushi bar in Laguna Beach a few Summers ago. We were near the door and it was open so it was not stuffy thankfully as it was Summer. The guy next to my husband got up suddenly moving way down to the only available seat there at the bar. I looked at him and could feel he was perturbed as he gestured somewhat mentally to me. Obviously over sprayed... or defiantly not the perfume for sushi bar night! Needless to say have not sprayed it on since!...

(Old Kiste) This one was unexpectedly nostalgic; it brings me back to high school/college, rolling up honey blunts, sans cannabis. Cracking open a cigarillo and dumping the guts, you're hit with the smell of vanilla, pipe tobacco and fruits; in this case I reckon it could be a white peach White Owl, but I didn't get as much peach as I expected. The tobacco leaf slathered with honey, filled, rolled up, licked and wrapped closed – Kiste goes all gooey honey and rich, sweet, fruity tobacco.

This is unlike any other fruity, floral that I have tried. The quality is amazing, it's so resinous it sprayed yellow onto my wrists. It's thick, deep, fruity, tobacco,hay just intoxicates and mesmerises me. Someone wrote earlier in a review that you don't wear Kiste and it doesn't wear you, it just follows you around all day and I totally comprehend that statement. It's longevity and silage are outstanding and it's what I call a " stop and make you think" scent, masterpiece!

This is a strong peach and fermenting dried fruits kind of fragrance. It’s beautifully blended and definitely unisex. The tobacco takes a back seat and I wouldn’t call this a tobacco fragrance as such. If you’re looking for a strong tobacco fragrance you might be disappointed. It’s a great fragrance, but not worth the dollars of its price tag IMO. The honey note is definitely present, adding to the sweetness. Not my cup of tea, the fermenting fruits is not to my liking.

Dried fruits - apricots and peaches, soaking or stewing in something boozy and made sweet with honey. Someone comes to check in on the kitchen while holding an unlit/not yet smoked cigar and someone lights patchouli incense in the adjacent room. Received a sample, so I’m not sure if it’s the older or newer version, but I’d guess newer. This is lovely at 80+ degrees in late summer but would probably be amazing during sweater weather.

Peach and tobacco. This one is very unique, I’ll wear it every time I’m playing cards on a riverboat. It lasted several hours for me but the later wear isn’t as good as the first couple hours. I’ll continue to use the sample, although the price won’t lure me into a full bottle. I will try more from Slumberhouse as this is high quality product. 7/10.

Have just tried this, definitely get the peach, Honey and dried fruits, but for some reason or another I get more of a rotting fruit type smell (hint). Fermenting is perhaps more polite, but it is not astringent. Not for me this one, but I am sure others may like especially fems. Sillage: 2/10 Longevity: 8/10 Scent: 6/10

Got a sample, liked it a lot. Whisky, Peaches, sweet, mmmmm. Couldn't stop inhaling...picking up that sweetness, getting whiffs of it and smiling, like remembering a sweet, flamboyant Auntie 'hi sweetheart, I'm here, love you, it's all good' . Then I got a headache :( Perhaps coincidence, I'll have to give it another go

Fruity honey. Smells like a sugary pancake plate. Mild, floral undertone. Very seasonal and artisinal.

As much as I love Norne and Jeke, I simply cannot stand Kiste. It's reminiscent of Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant and even Armani Privé Ambre Eccentrico, and both have a similar cloying and to me sickening sweetness to them as well. There is peach here, but it's not the bright and fresh smell that I know from the fresh fruit itself. It's dark, like it has ripened for far too long and is close to going bad. There's something that reminds me of cloves, which is probably the thing that bothers me the most in this composition. A funny anecdote. After sniffing this on my arm and then putting my nose on the atomiser of my bottle of Jeke, it seems as though Jeke is a lot more fresh than it used to be before. It's interesting how certain scents or accords can change your reference and make other scents suddenly seem completely different.

It smells mostly like a peachy, tobacco affair...smells like there is amaretto in it as well, though not in the notes listed here. This smells much better in warm weather, cold dry air does nothing for it. I'm testing it to see how it performs in the heat...if it holds up I may get this for summer. Edit: This turned out to be far too linear for me...it does not change at all from opening to dry down (other than fading)...which is something that I rarely like in a fragrance. Nose to skin, I like it...wafting in the air, it seems somewhat room spray-ish. Performance takes a hit in hot weather. I just don't think this fragrance would work for me. For others I would say it's worth sampling.

I'm afraid if I wore this in public the reaction would be "What's that smell?!" instead of "what a lovely perfume! What is it?" Someone here said it smelled like fermenting peaches and that's an apt description. It's extremely strong and as time passes, the peachy note just gets stronger and more artificial smelling. It's disappointing because the description on Lucky Scent sounded so intriguing and delicious. I wish it had a little subtlety and didn't make me smell like I'd just cooked up a batch of moonshine.

Right off the bat, I get a potent spicy peach and a huge blast of tobacco when i apply it on my skin. Very unique scent, admire the artwork but personally I'm not really fan of the scent, the tobacco takes over the scent too quickly and gives off sickly bitter smell, not in a good way. Overall this is a pass. Its a very well constructed perfume but tis not for me.

Maybe I'm the oddball out, but I do not like this. It smells like incense, pungent tobacco, and rotting fruit on me. I thought the notes would be heavenly, but it's a scrubber. Long longevity, strong sillage

All I really got out of this was tobacco and tonka, with a possible hint of patchouli to add depth and dirtiness. I didn't get any of the peach, other fruits, or honey.

You have to like pipe tobacco to be able to wear this one. I can't get past it, so overpowering.

I don't know what everyone else is smelling but this perfume is cat litter+deodorizer+nagchampa+patchouli and what you smell from an Occult Bookstore all wrapped up into one scent 🎤
