Norne Oil

Where to even start with this one... so I have a bottle of Norne from a few years ago that I absolutely love. Takes me, as many have said, to a Tolkien forest. Or maybe more appropriately, meeting Ihsahn, Satyr and Frost in a frozen and snow covered forest. Norne Oil on the other hand takes me to when I was 5-6 years old growing up in the country. This reminds me of playing in the woods of Eastern Ohio, fighting monsters and saving princesses with my younger brother. Days when there was nothing to worry about other than when you heard you mom/dad say it was bedtime. No bills, no job, no politics, just childhood. This one is really special to me. Aromatic, earthy greenery. A mix of floral elements and exotic greenery, particularly pine, on a bed of moss and hay. And incense being burned over musky, damp wood.

Norne is one of the most beloved Slumberhouse offerings - a deep dark voyage into the coniferous northern woods. The fougere begins with a blast of fIr absolute, which is given a smoky ambience with the addition of olibanum and spices. Now comes an oil version of this which adds many more ingredients - the most prominent of which are a variety of herbs, slight florals and sandalwood. The resulting juice is actually more airier and easier to wear than the original perfume formulation. Only a couple of drops are needed to take you to the forests of the Pacfic Northwest on a fall morning. Enjoy!

As a lover of fragrances who values artisanal work, I cannot help but sing the praises of Norne Oil by Slumberhouse. This fragrance is a masterpiece, created by the talented (yet unfortunate) perfumer Josh Lobb and inspired by the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest forests. From the moment you see the pitch-black juice, you know you're in for a treat. The powerful scent has a dark atmosphere and a strong herbal quality, with spicy, medicinal, and resinous notes that are hallmarks of Slumberhouse's unique style. As the fragrance opens, you're transported to a dense forest of evergreens with a burst of green notes, including fir and hemlock.
