Siberian Shewolf

this is pretty. i recently got my first sample pack from smell bent, and this is the only one of my choosing that really works for me. it starts off a salty, cool vanilla ambergris with patchouli. a bit later some sandalwood and musk come in and the musk seems to be slightly animalic which adds a bit of a sweetness to this.

My favorite purchase from the final sale, it just makes me feel a certain mysterious confidence.

'chouli and dry spices are how 'Siberian Shewolf' starts out, and the sandalwood jumps right in to give the effect of a hippie spice vendor hawking her wares. There is something dry and savory like a meat rub that keeps coming to mind, but with a strange sweetness that dances in the background. Definitely a gourmand in my book, but there are animalistic aspects here as well supplied by the musk and ambergris. Picture the hippie spice vendor starting to sprout fur and a knowing smile, and while their wares still smell delicious you start to wonder if maybe the vendor doesn't think the very same thing about YOU at this moment. Fun fragrance, but it isn't a favorite of mine on first sniff. I'd wear this at home, for fun, rather than out in public and have to explain hippie werewolf spice vendors out loud. 'Siberian Shewolf' was part of the 'Winterific!' collection, but I could see this being a fall fragrance thanks to the dry spiciness.

I like this one...it's like the lighter, less sophisticated, more affordable version of Creed's Vanisia (which I love). I actually didn't get much patchouli...I got the vanilla, ambergris, sandalwood, and musk. The longevity isn't great on this, but it's a wonderful fragrance and I enjoy spritzing on my 50 ml EDT when I just want a short burst of fragrance in a Vanisia-like vibe.
