Gentle Reminder

WOW 😍 to me this is SO stunning! The milkiness is angelic in a way. **But I do think skin chemistry plays a huge role here with this one since there are so many crazy mixed reviews. There’s no way you should smell SOY SAUCE from this unless it just didn’t mesh with your skin chemistry. So I think that will be what makes or breaks this for you so test it on skin first!!** On me this opens up with a gentle purple ube + milky tea🧋like scent, with the ube lending a slight earthiness in the opening, but that quickly fades completely. What’s left is the most luxurious smelling light vanilla scent, delicately sweet with so much yummy frothy milky-ness... This is so gentle, smooth, soothing and calming. It kinda reminds me of a super milky oat milk w sugar if that can be a thing? Lol. The sweetness is perfect imo, it’s delicate, natural and just flutters off of your skin. I can see where some ppl think they’re getting “playdough” from this (it’s the ube in the opening) but I personally don’t think this smells like playdough at all.. it smells like ube & it fades after about 10mins. The lavender & tea are barely there, (I would’ve never guessed on my own), but they’re what’s giving this its subtle soothing/calming/peaceful effect. It’s beautiful!! My mom HATES perfumes and she’s been ravinggg about this for the last 3 days straight. She said it smells like a luxurious milky vanilla that is calming & she can’t believe how much she loves it. The longevity is great it lasted 7+ hours on skin & lasts especially long on clothes. Dang.. i’m just so happy this exists!! It’s the most heavenly calming milky cloud I’ve ever smelled and it feels like butterflies kissing your skin 🪽🦋 I will be wearing this non stop. I Highly recommend. 💜

I just received this and I love it! The drydown is a sweet lactonic gourmand ube vanilla dessert. Now, when I first sprayed this ...It reminds me of a scent I cannot put my finger on...but I have smelled this from something so similar but if I had to guess or list a few fragrances it kind of favors would be : KKW bae , Empire victor's base, Jessica Simpson perfume or a Victoria secret vanilla mist ?, Skylar boardwalk's sweetness mixed with added extra milky sweetness, I just can't figure out what this smells similar to but , when you first spray it ...its so familiar !! Maybe someone will figure it out. I dont think this is a floral fruity , its a goumand , sweet like bianco latte category! Its yummy ! I do not get heal the way in this, they are different. This is slight powdery..but slight. The best thing about this fragrance is it lasts and you could layer this with any gourmand or vanilla !. Still unique but a familiar mystery! 9/10 Better than crumb couture for sure!!

10/10!!!! I knew I’d like this fragrance, but I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do! At first the opening scent is an almost overwhelming earthy warm vanilla but that fades quickly. For the first few hours I smell the Ube and lavender. IMO, this smells like a warm hug. I find it extremely comforting. I could wear this scent daily, wish there was a body lotion. As hours pass it fades to a warm milky purple vanilla tea and the palo santo and dates come through. I can still smell this on my clothes a day after spraying, my shirt was on the floor and my whole bathroom smelled like Gentle Reminder. Soft, fluffy, edible!! My man said I smelled like candied spiced vanilla yams haha. This is such a beautiful unique gourmand. It smells just like Filipino desert Binignit tastes. Wish I could get a 3oz bottle!! Loveeeeee it

I’m trying this for the first time in 90° heat and humidity, this is a soft comforting scent , but it’s not for summer. I’m happy I’m not getting any Play-Doh notes like other people experienced. I’m getting very sweet milky tea, nothing fruity or floral. This is something I will love when the weather gets cooler. This is the kind of scent that I would want to wear right after an evening shower before I put on soft comfy pajamas and get in between clean sheets. I didn’t buy the full size but I definitely will in the fall. I tried a sample of heal the way when it was released and I remembered liking it but not thinking I needed it because I had other pistachio fragrances. I’ll probably buy the 10 mil size and give that another shot.

omg this is unreal. I have never tried an ube perfume, and I really did not think snif could pull this off, but they did !! it starts off with a blast of sugary sweet, milky, lavender-infused vanilla and quickly dries down to this warm, comforting starchy fresh-baked ube cookie scent. i honestly do not think this smells like play-doh at all (but I also do usually like the vanilla scents that people compare to play-doh so maybe i shouldn't be trusted in this regard lol). the performance of this is also pretty good. it lasts awhile and it's insanely strong when you first spray it on. i really regret buying the mini bottle instead of the full size.

I don't usually like lavender in a fragrance but the ube sold me to get a tester, and fsb on way! This to me smells like the TJ's ube sandwich cookies taste. Creamy and sweet but not artificially so. Opening notes give a little bit of bougie playdough smell (but in a good way) and dry down is lactonic, sweet and heavenly. I'm not usually a gourmand fan, but this one sold me. I don't get the lavender much at all, and it's not the kind sweet that gives me a headache. Love snif and this one's a keeper!

this perfume is so cozy! if i were going to spend a week in a snowy cabin reading this would be the perfume i would bring. it’s very sweet and milky, and the ube note brings something unique, very reminiscent of an ube bubble milk tea. i live in a super hot climate, and this is definitely too much for the spring and summer, so while it’s hot it’s one of my go to post shower scents for when i want to chill. will probably by a full bottle, it’s so comforting and like a warm hug.

gentle reminder is the ‘purple sister’ in a fragrance. immediately met with photorealistic ube and date sugar, followed with a warm milky black tea. the palo santo is present but not powerful or smoky some think this has a ‘playdough’ adjacent scent profile- I can see where they are coming from but it’s not bothersome to me. this reminds me of a night in with your best friend, the transition from summer to autumn. spa days, bewitched, and black cats 8.5/10

Milky lavender ube tea. This one's like a creamier and less nutty version of Heal the Way, which I attribute the similarity the shared palo santo base. Simply delicious. The sweetness in this is very natural; I definitely get the dates. But the creamy, velvety milkiness of this is the star of the show, in my opinion. Such a calming scent. Makes me feel cozy. Reminds me of fluffy blankets and cuddling with a lover in the most wholesome of ways.

wow...this wonderful woody ice cream scent! so warm and sweet i can’t wait to wear it in the winter as i think the sweetness will present so nicely in the cold, this might be a bit hard to wear in warm months. the playdough note that other people find hit my nose on first spray (the same kind as in Mmmm by juliet has a gun), but quickly faded and everything melted together into a beautiful purple puddle on my skin.

Smells so lovely and comforting, I actually prefer this over Heal the Way, which I love. You do get a vanilla play doh smell on initial spray which lasts a minute or two then dries down to a yummy sugary warm lavender milk scent. I definitely smell the ube note which gives it a unique earthiness. This has quickly become one of my favorites, perfect for rainy days and cuddly evenings under a soft blanket.

I just tested this perfume today. I sprayed it early this morning and I kept smelling my wrists throughout the day. I kept thinking to myself this smells cozy, nostalgic, and familiar 🤔...then it dawned on me that this perfume smells a lot like Dior Hypnotic Poison! Which I used to love. I am happy to add this to my collection! It’s such a dreamy little scent 🥰✨.

Got as a gift for my best friend. I blind bought, trusting the notes and her intense love for taro milk tea. Its absolutely gorgeous. Not as edible/gourmand, but the essence of the tea. Bright, sugary, powdery, milky goodness in one that makes you want to jump in the bottle. Its cozy but flirty, sweet but aromatic. It reminds me of her 💜 she loves it too

I am not a gourmand fan, but I just had to try this because I love ube and I actually am pleasantly surprised by how much I like it. It is sweet, but it’s so creamy and comforting, not sticky/ juicy sweet, it’s very mild. I do get the ube, and lavender and it does smell almost exactly like a bubble tea. Really enjoy it and would recommend

This fragrance smells like walking into a bubble tea cafe. Milky black tea and sweet brown sugar. After a while, I can notice the lavender and Palo Santo coming through. Almost like walking up to the counter, and catching the gentle scent of lavender in a vase nearby. Extremely comforting and warming.💜✨

gentle reminder starts off as a sharp "permanent marker" note mixed with play doh and the DNA of heal the way. but as it dries down, there's this sweet, cinnamon/juicy fruit gum note and it's almost similar to lush's cinders. i kinda like it lol. so far every collab with alex elle has been impressive!

have been putting this on before bedtime and feel like an ethereal pinay princess. smells like a more milky version of jollibee’s discontinued ube smoothie with boba. the palo santo here shines, and although it’s sweeter than my usual taste, it’s extremely comforting.

I really enjoy this fragrance, and im typically not huge on gourmand. It's light, a little sweet, and comforting. It lasts a long time on the skin but isn't overpowering. I personally dont get a playdoh smell from it like some other people do

This is just a vanilla perfume to my nose, but I still love it. Wish I could identify the tea note or have some concept of what purple yam smells like. Not milky to me but definitely soft, sweet, and cozy. I love the name.

Comforting bedtime or yoga/meditation scent. Yes, I get the play-dough comparison, but I love that scent so it doesn’t bother me! The ube, lavender, and lactonic notes are so calming. The only FSB I’ve purchased from Snif.

It’s an instant love for me, feels like a flanker of heal the way but I detect less woodiness and more sweetness! Very soft and sweet and comforting. I mostly get the ube, milk and sugar 💜

I don’t really get the tea or lavender that I hoped for but I do really like this. It’s super sweet and cozy. It’s also got a little bit of a fruity scent to it that I think might be the dates. Gentle Reminder evokes textures more than any other perfume I’ve ever smelled: starchy, pillowy ube pastry, crunchy sugar crystals and the creaminess of milk (if not the actual scent of milk). I feel like I could sink my teeth into it. I think it’s that starch that makes people think of Play-Doh but I don’t think it smells like Play-Doh personally. This is very similar to Heal the Way in its vibe and the palo santo base but is its own distinct scent. It’s a lot sweeter and more gourmand. If I had to choose one I slightly prefer Heal the Way but both are really beautiful, comforting, and unique scents. At this point I’m hoping Alex Elle goes into perfumery full time because she’s got 100% success rate in my book. Edit 6/23/25: this has become one of my favorite scents, esp for cozy days (I think it’ll really shine in cooler month although it’s not bad in the summer!). I find myself craving it and wanting to spray it. I initially thought it was good but that I wouldn’t FS but now I think I’ll miss it when it’s gone. I also think that both this and Heal the Way are distinct enough to both have a place in my collection.

First time trying a Snif fragrance and I am quite impressed! I was worried about the playdough comparisons (which I very much also got) but after a minute or two it completely transforms into the frothiest milk scent. I'm not getting much if any lavender and honestly I've never smelled ube to know if that is present, but regardless I'm getting frothed milk (almost malted), some spice, and an earthy almost clay note. In a very weird way I also smell those Flinstones vitamins some of us took as children 😅. Not a ton of projection but lingers on the skin for a few hours which isn't bad for the price point. Overall, not my favorite and I should've only gotten the travel size, but perfect for someone who loves lactonics and wants some variety in their rotation. ***Wore this out today and it has grown on me even more and now I'm getting some lavender (in the outdoors at least). Easily something I could get sick of if in my regular rotation but I wore it today on a walk awaiting some scary news and felt so soothed by the scent bubble. ❤️

This is such a sweet calming fragrance but unfortunately it is incredibly cloying in the heat. It's from the same vein of Lepus by Piper & Pero so if you like that you'll definitely like this. Hopefully I can wear this in the winter because unfortunately I get really nauseous from this. :/ Edit: This is very nice in the cold. Sweet, creamy, starchy-It's comfort in a bottle. Plus the lavender is so perfectly blended that it ties seamlessly with the purple yam. Maybe this ties in with the association of lavender with comfort but outside of winding down at home I've found this to be only something to wear out when I want to be associated with comfort-like a "gentle reminder" that I'm not going anywhere. A very niche wear overall. I think I may just stick to a travel size but this frag has a very sweet, comforting place in my heart in the midst of tragedy.

I bought a 10ml of each of the fragrances in the Alex Elle collaboration and I really thought Gentle Reminder was going to be the e one I would fall in love with, but I like Heal The Way much more! This is a bit too sweet on me to the point of being syrupy and there’s a play-doh note in the opening that you sometimes find in vanilla perfumes, but it eventually went away not long after. Sometimes my nose adjusts, so I’ll try and give this a chance. For now I “like” it, enough, but I don’t see myself going through this too quickly and I doubt I’ll buy a full bottle like I definitely will with Heal The Way. I wish the Palo Santo was stronger because it would balance out the sweetness just right. Fwiw, the dry down *is* really nice but there are so many thickly sweet notes that it’s all mashed together and hard to differentiate to my nose.

The initial spray is synthetic and chemical (for lack of a better word). Fortunately that passes. The longer this sits on my skin, the more familiar it becomes. About 15 minutes after dry down, this smells incredibly similar to Kayali Pistachio Gelato. Like, fraternal twin similar, but slightly less warm, lighter, and a bit sweeter. I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm enjoying this fragrance, because the initial impression was absolutely jarring. I usually loathe the scent of lavender, but I picked this up because I'm a big fan of all things ube. I'm happy to say, the lavender in this doesn't bother me at all. This isn't a scent I'd wear out in the heat, but it's a bedtime scent I'd use any time of year. If you can wait out the first few minutes of "what did I put on my skin" panic, the dry down is calming, light, lactonic and soft.

when I saw the notes for this perfume I freaked out a little. I am in love with every single one of them and snif totally delivered! this is bright, warm, and milky. it is an intoxicating creamy, starchy black tea with a touch of lavender. It lasts for so so long and is such a great scent before bedtime. I don't get any palo santo from this (thankfully), mainly the milk, dates, black tea, and purple yam!! I think this is a perfect scent for all seasons as well. edit: I did give this to a friend since she's head over heels for it. also, I could not see myself using this during the day as it's such a before-bedtime scent (part of the reason I gave it away). it does get much sweeter with time, along with an intense milkiness that envelops the entire fragrance and wear for me. not bad, but not my favorite ever.

When I first sprayed Gentle Reminder on my skin, I didn't like it at all. The date smell was very strong right away, which I was worried would be too sickly sweet for regular wearing. I opted to only wear this scent to bed, and I definitely think that was the right call. While I have come to really like it, I don't think it is blind-buy safe. When I wear it in private, I can really enjoy the scent; wearing it in public, however, made me a bit self-conscious. Once it is dried down, the sugar, milk, and ube notes really shine through. It is very sweet, earthy, and cozy. I don't think this perfume is for everyone, but it's a really unique and comforting scent that added a lot to my bedtime routine.

This fragrance starts out very milky and tea like with the sugar leading the way but the taro in it is surprisingly earthy, bitter, and organic smelling. I’d really smells like a freshly pound taro tea. There is a powdery smell from the taro as well mixed in with this milky smell. I wanted to like it more but he earthiness from the yam is a little bit jarring and doesn’t blend as well as I was hoping like “heal the way” is so nicely blended. It does mix a little bit better after it dries down but there could be a tad more sugar in it. I think this scent is nice but sample first and expect a little more vegetal smell than expected!

I really like most of the notes in this perfume so I was very excited to try it. I like it, it definitely has a sweet date and play-doh-like smell for the first 30 or so mins which I don’t mind because I’ve always loved the smell of play-doh 🙃. When it dries down it has a sharper, more incense-y smell than I expected. It’s a comforting scent and good before bedtime like others have said, and goes well with EOS vanilla cashmere. The sillage and longevity isn’t great. Overall, it’s nice but I don’t plan to purchase the full size.

It opens with a strange yet familiar scent of play-doh, initially off-putting, I promise you the dry down is nothing of the sort. It dries into a soft, foamy sweet vanilla milk tea, It's not overly sweet, its DNA is similar but better than heal the way (which i returned because it had a lingering green savory scent that to me clashed with the sweetness). I unfortunately cant smell the lavender but can be paired with a lavender perfume oil to enhance it. Overall a soft and unique fragrance with a beautiful Gentle Reminder🤍

On initial spray, Gentle Reminder comes off as *very* milky-sweet, with nutty undertones. As other reviews have mentioned, there is also a distinct Play-Dough smell-- perhaps from the vanilla and ube? After a bit of wear, the palo santo shines through, with the *faintest* bit of lavender. While not something I personally would wear every day, (just slightly too sweet, not enough tea or lavender for my tastes)... I like it more than a handful of Snif's other fragrances. I could see this being a favorite scent for many.

this caught me off guard! the opening is probably where i get the most lavender, but it becomes pretty unnoticeable soon after. this is a very lactonic perfume but i wouldn't call it cloying by any means, despite the date note. for some reason, the palo santo turns almost minty on me? the starchy nature of the ube is what really rounds it all out, i'm so glad i bought a 10ml of this fragrance as its not FB worthy for me, but i love the comfort this scent brings. perfect for a cozy night in alone with a cup of tea

A much warmer scent then I was expecting. It is a nice comforting sugary milky smell. The lavender isn't overwhelming and it dries down to a pleasant floral sort of earthy smell. I bought this to be a spring scent but I can definitely see myself wearing it in cooler weather as well. I can see where some of the negative reviews are coming from in saying that it smells like play-doh though. I personally really like it but I did smell it while thinking about play-doh and could definitely smell the similarities.

Definitely get the playdough associations but I really like it in this scent. Other playdough scents like Hypnotic Poision (in my opinion) don’t pull off the playdough notes very well but this one does. This opens up heavy on the ube, milk tea, and sugar. Stays creamy and lactonic until the dry down where a tiny bit of Palo santo peeks out. The playdough smell mellows out as you wear this. Smelling this in passing (in the air), the playdough is not really detectable.

I got a sample of this. I pretty much just get an ice cream type lactonic scent, I thought the palo santo might add something more. The taro faintly comes through, sort of in a starchy way, but I don’t think I’d guess anything other than ice cream as what it’s going for. Since there are so many of this style of perfume now, I don’t think I’d buy the bottle. I don’t get play-doh thankfully, so I do still like it.

Recieved a sample of this with a purchase of a different scent. Was pleased how it wears on me (it turned a bit sour on a friend and coworker of mine so watch out) but I personally don't think it works with my preferences. Very beautiful perfume, but it smells like sweet play-dough and I probably wouldn't have picked up on the lavander note without being told.

Here me out, i understand where everyone's coming from with the playdooh comment.... but you cant let your brain go there because this fragrance is lovely. A sweet soft fragrance and it does have that slightly starchy smell due to the ube i believe but if you ignore the voices telling you its playdooh... its a wonderful earthy creamy sweet scent.

My sample macerated and omg... gentle reminder I judged you far too soon. I’m finally getting not only milky sweetness, but also the taro and palo santo. It’s cozy, comforting and honestly has pretty great longevity. Just don’t wear in the heat because it gets cloying in about .5 seconds

I get that palo santo that makes it similar to heal the way but I mostly get the milk and date sugar at first and it leans playdoughy BUT it does dry down and is a nice sweet milky black tea smell; I don’t detect any lavender at all.

Smells like a sweet milk tea beverage! I don't pick up any lavender, just a sweet milky tea scent. The similarity to Heal the Way is there, but Gentle Reminder is much lighter and airier. Solid like for now

smells very strongly of vanilla play-doh, which is odd but overall not off putting. the lavender makes it slightly ticklish to the nose? choose heal the way if you're trying to decide

Just straight sugar and milk, not getting any of the other notes at all. Way too sweet for me, sucks because I love ube :(

Unfortunately I do get the notorious play-doh note that everyone is talking about. I was hoping I wouldn’t, since based on all the notes this should be a dream fragrance, but alas, I get play-doh. When you first spray you get a nice, sweet lavender. That quickly dissipates and the play-doh starts to come through. It’s like a sugared play-doh. Interestingly not terrible, but I mean, it’s play-doh. If I try to look at it in a different way, it smells like a starchy, uncooked dough with lots and lots of sugar. I don’t get the milk or the tea or even the palo santo. Mostly just ube starch and sugar. I mean when you look up what play-doh is supposed to smell like, it says “sweet, slightly musky, vanilla fragrance, with slight overtones of cherry, combined with the smell of a salted, wheat-based dough,” and I feel like that’s pretty on the mark for this. It’s a vanilla dough scent, a bit almondy. The play-doh is the most prominent for the first 15-20mins, then the dry-down is slightly more wearable. I don’t think I’ll get a full-bottle, but I’ll wear my travel size, maybe. TLDR: This smells like a starchy, uncooked dough, with lots of sweet sugar. It does smell like play-doh.
