Soda Snob

A summer day. It's not too hot, but the sun is shining and it's perfect weather to sit outside and admire the world. You pour a glass of coca-cola and garnish it with a wedge of lime. You feel a breeze pick up and know that today will be yet another wonderful, fun day. This is truly such a wonderful fragrance. I love everything about it. Coca-cola is a rather elusive and intriguing scent, as its composition is rather indescribable, and it is so so so easy to make something that is overly sweet with a cloying stickiness, as if you spilled soda all over you on a hot summer day. This does none of that. It's a cool, refreshing bouquet of spicy sweetness that both invigorates and soothes. It captures the classic, nostalgic, fizzy scent of cola, while also complementing it with a beautiful burst of jasmine and lime. The cinnamon and caramel come out wonderfully in the dry down, creating a spicy, aromatic, sweet scent that's unique yet crowd-pleasing. It's a conversation starter. It's something you’d smell walking down the street and stop the wearer in their tracks to ask what it is. It's youthful and novel, yet classic and refined. The composition isn’t overly complicated, but I can tell the fragrances used are of utmost quality. I only purchased a sample of this, but I hope to buy a full bottle soon. I haven’t been this excited about a fragrance in a very long time.

This was a positive blind buy for me. It's a unique, photorealistic gourmand and one of the better-executed Cola scents I've tried. The notes are relatively linear, but there is some jostling for supremacy among them in the first 90 minutes or so. Starts off with a bright lime & fizzy coke scent, then settles down into a mix of warm coca-cola, nutmeg, and cinnamon, with a warm, boozy vanilla-caramel base. "Warm Coca-cola" doesn't sound like a positive endorsement, but it really does work well in this fragrance. I don't smell any Jasmine at all, to be honest. Overall, I would pick this scent is for cooler summer days, or Fall/Winter when you want to invoke some feelings of balmy, summer nights. The notes are rich enough that it works for winter on its own, but it truly feels like a fun, boardwalk in the summertime scent to me at its core. It could definitely be too cloying and heavy for hot, hot days. Longevity was great for me, lasting overnight on my skin, and even longer on my clothes. Projection quiets down to a skin scent after about 2 hours, but starts off as a arm-length scent. If you like Cola scents, check it out. Not a safe blind buy for most, but I find myself picking it out a few times a week. I really do love it. I don't think it fully satisfies my quest for the perfect Cola scent, but it's quickly becoming a summer staple.

I don't know how I haven't reviewed this one yet, because this is my signature scent. If you think I'm crazy for that then so be it but OMFG. I am obsessed with this. I think the thought of "cola perfume" puts some folks off prematurely, because when I tell people that my favorite perfume is a cola scent, they scrunch their nose at me. But if you look at this as a perfume comprised of the individual notes (I get predominantly lime, cinnamon, caramel, and jasmine) I think it makes more sense. When I smell this, I don't necessarily get "cola". I get a very sharp burst of lime at the beginning, kind of like that intense sting in your nose when you get when you try to drink a soda immediately after opening it (but pleasant and citrusy). Cinnamon comes next, then the jasmine and caramel at the same time to create the sweet "syrupy" aspect (without going *too* gourmand, the jasmine keeps it "perfumey" to me). The lime fades out over time, leaving a sweet, spiced, ever-so-slightly-floral scent lingering. I don't know how else to convey that this is incredible. Uhhh let's see, it projects decently well, I can usually smell it on myself for a good amount of time (maybe 4-5 hours?). But the longevity in general is wayyy more impressive, I can smell it in my clothes for days afterwards. Chefs kiss. 10,000/10

I was not expecting to love this as much as I do, but out of all the decants and bottles I got for the fall/winter season, this was the winner. I wanted to reach for it over all of my other cool weather scents. It’s not that it’s a fall/winter scent necessarily, but the bit of warm spiciness that comes through made it feel appealing in the colder months. I’m still wearing it in March, so we’ll see how far into the warm weather I go with it. Cola wise, dead on, but more of an artisanal cola with some extra lime and vanilla added. Kind of like those cola gummies, which take me back, but with a little spice. Of all the Snif fragrances I tried—heal the way and a sampler pack of their classics—this was by far the best smelling and best quality imo. But you have to like a sweet cola smell. Longevity could be better. Still a love. Would expect to finish the whole bottle within a year.

I tested this. It really isn’t bad, kind of interesting, but unfortunately not quite for me. I get burnt caramel and lime. The lime dissipates and its caramel, vanilla and subtle cinnamon. I might like it better if the caramel were softer and not as “cooked caramel” smelling. I do get that fizziness that everyone talks about, and it does start out as photorealistic cola with lime in my opinion. I tried some layering combinations but nothing really excited me when I did that. Perhaps the “burnt caramel” is the spice. It’s a tempting, but not something I would buy. Interesting, just not quite my vibe, but it might be yours. Update: This is really growing on me. I’m updating my description of the caramel to “toasted caramel.” There’s definitely a sweetness in the middle & the dry down is vanilla.
