Ive been using the website for a while but finally just made an account to leave this specific review because I cant believe the amount of hate on this. I consider myself a gourmand and specifically vanilla connoisseur and I had never heard of this until I got recommended it by an ulta employee last night and bought it on the spot. To me it smells a lot like phlur vanilla skin if it were less spicy and strictly sweet and now that i think about it I do get mod vanilla from it too but without the fruityness. I agree that if you like vanilla 28 you will like this, its like a vanilla 28 that you would wear every day instead of on expensive occasions. I also plan to layer this with eos vanilla cashmere lotion and sol de janeiro 62 spray if that tells you what category it’s in. Honestly just sweet vanilla cupcake in my opinion. After I left ulta I went to the gym and when I tell you I was in my own little scent bubble the entire time and on the way home too. It PROJECTS! I loveeee when you can smell a perfume on yourself and you definitely can with this one! Definitely going to be a new every day perfume for me and Im eternally grateful to that ulta employee.

I'm the opposite of most of the negative reviews for this, I tend to adore spicy, musky, unisex-leaning scents and avoid scents that are overly sweet. I would have never thought to try this because of the marketing and name but a store assistant led me to this scent and I fell in love. It smelled a bit odd on the paper sampler, like licorice and vanilla but after a minute it smells lovely. On my skin it's a different story. No licorice smell, I do personally smell vanilla prominently and it's equally complimented by the musk and woodsy scents. Don't blindly buy it if you can, I understand why people could consider this odd but I love it. This may not be your thing if you prefer sweeter, more feminine scents and I do agree the marketing could be misleading. It's also lovely because I can get overwhelmed by a lot of perfumes and want to ensure people around me can't smell me and get headaches, so one spray of this is enough for me and those very close to me. It also lasts a long time, I still smell it faintly on my wrists over 24 hours later.

I am baffled as to why this scent has so many negative reviews?? It's one of the coziest vanillas I think I have ever come across... The amber in this adds the most comforting, fluffy notes I've ever encountered when it meets this slightly near-smoky vanilla. It definitely gives more "waffle cone soaked with sticky melted vanilla bean ice cream" rather than just ice cream, but it's delicious. Just sophisticated enough to keep it from being juvenile, just playful enough to keep it from being too boring or stale... this is a solid, dependable vanilla, with a slight twist. I'm very happy. This lasted all day through my work shift. It's got some LONGEVITY. Surrounded me with a cloud of fluffy, ambery vanilla for the whole day. (Edit: to emphasize the longevity of this one, if i spray more than once throughout the day, a run through the washer is not enough to remove the smell completely. It. LASTS.)

I truly believe in body chemistry because this IS vanilla ice cream. I hate that some won’t get to experience it. Every time I turn my head I get such a warm sugary toasted vanilla. Close your eyes— picture yourself eating an old fashioned vanilla ice cream on a freshly made crispy waffle cone. As you’re down to that last bit of ice cream, but right before you devour the cone, THATS Vanilla Vice. It’s like that sticky smell you get when it’s all over your hands dried up, and it’s all shiny inside of the cone. An absolute pleasure of a fragrance. I did one spray on the front of my chest under my shirt @9am, went to a barber appointment on the 10th floor @12pm.. filled up the entire building lobby and elevator. This EDT needs to definitely be recategorized!!

finally got my hands on this one, and i love it. it’s a woody vanilla, in the same vein of vanilla skin, bare sueded vanilla, etc. however, the dry down is where it becomes unique - the ice cream note is not gourmand, it’s like tasting the coldness of ice cream on your tongue and breathing it in. the orcanox makes it really interesting too. it’s somewhat leathery here. i think snif does a great job creating unisex scents. my only complaint is that i wish they were EDPs instead of EDTs. you can sometimes snag them for $45, but full price is a bit steep for a 30ml EDT. however, they send you a sample with the full bottle so you can return it if you don’t like it, and all of their scents are unique, so it’s not a huge complaint. solid 8/10

I bought a bottle of this at Ulta as soon as my local one started carrying it. The tester in store smelled amazing, just like vanilla ice cream straight from your freezer. Since day one, my bottle of this has smelt like straight up rubbing alcohol. I thought that maybe it just needed to sit for a while, so for the last year I've just been leaving it alone, spraying it once or twice a month to see if maybe it will finally smell as great as the tester bottle did. It hasn't. No idea if I got a bad bottle or what, but there is absolutely ZERO vanilla, just alcohol. I went to Ulta yesterday to try a few fragrances, and again tried their bottle. Theirs still smells amazing. Mine still smells like it'll melt the paint off my walls. Be warned.

Since reviews are all over the place with this one, I didn't really know what to expect. It's nice! Definitely a woody vanilla but I love that so it works for me! Very similar to Phlur Vanilla Skin, EB Marshmallows (minus the slight fruitiness that has) and bbw Vanilla Romance- if you like these you'll most likely like this too as they're all very similar. The smokiness here is more toasted than the "tobacco" smokiness in 7V Vanilla Woods. If you're not into smokey vanillas tho, I'd avoid. As for the ad campaign , set that melted ice cream on top of the bottle on fiyahhh 🔥 and oh add some spices, she is a slight bit spicy. Really like this one to close out winter too❄️

So, I just got this and as a diehard Serge Lutens fan (I say this so you know where tastes normally sit), this is amazing. This is NOT, however, a vanilla ice cream cone scent as they market it. It's a smokey, deep vanilla that is warm and evocative, sexy and dark but not playful or childish. It's a great scent for the money and I'm glad I blind bought it based on notes alone. I would not have bought this based on its marketing but I have a few Snif scents that are really nice and this is now part of my rotation. If you like deep, smoky vanillas with some incense then this is your scent. If you're looking to smell like baked goods or candy? This is not it.

It seems like a lot of people hate this. It's one of my most complimented fragrances because woody perfumes pull strong and sweet on me. I think some people were hoping this would be gourmand or something but it's not. It's an airy woody vanilla and I love it for that. It's sweet on me but honestly it's not very sweet at all. It has vibes similar to vanilla woods or angham but not super close to either of them. Actually I don't find it that similar to anything else but also kinda feels familiar to many vanillas I have smelled before. I wish the bottle was bigger or was cheaper at least that's my main complaint I don't always feel like repurchasing.

This scent is definitely a cold vanilla that’s not going to come off as gourmand and warm sugary. If I were to compare to Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere, FCWC is more cozy and warm. Compared to Kayali Vanilla 28, Vanilla 28 is more sugary. I don’t agree with comparisons to Mod Vanilla as I’ve sprayed them on separate arms and worn throughout the day - Mod Vanilla is a lot more synthetic, sweet, and linear. It smells good, but it also smells cheaper. Vanilla Vice lasts longer despite being an EDT and is more complex. You get some of the musk and woodsy smells while still being a pretty clear vanilla. This really solidified my love for Vanilla Vice

One of my favorite fragrances and my Fiancés favorite fragrance of mine. It’s very very sweet so if you don’t like sweet fragrances this won’t be for you. The opening is very intense and cloying but if you wait just a few minutes it settles down. It is a vanilla ice cream sweet and not candy sweet. The amber wood and the musk is what really makes this fragrance amazing to me and you can smell that musk throughout-but the dry down is to die for. Despite being an EDT the longevity and sillage is very good! I can still smell on myself after several hours. If you’re looking for a yummy gourmand vanilla I would say this is the one!

This is a delicious vanilla. The more I smell it the more I love it. It’s reminiscent of Kayali Silk Santal for me but still its own thing. I love love love the way she layers with Snif’s House of 8 - Vanilla Vice cuts through the herbaceous fougere qualities and brings out the chocolate of House of 8. Highly recommend layering the two for the depth alone. Performance wise, she lasts at least 8 hours on my skin and longer on my clothes. I like to use this scent as a bed time scent. She is a cool vanilla, not a warm vanilla and stands out all on her own.

Definitely agree with the consensus that this doesn't really have an ice cream note - definitely more of a woodsy, maybe even spicy or smoky vanilla. But!- as someone who typically does prefer very sweet and creamy vanillas, this one is still definitely approachable and enjoyable if you're willing to step away from foody gourmands. To me, this is exactly like Viva Vanilla body mist (BBW) which I owned first and LOVED, so I was excited to get a perfume that had the same vibe. I get lots of compliments on this one! Definitely test before buying.

I'll never understand why this gets the negative reviews it does, especially from ppl that claim to like Vanilla skin, Commodity Milk, Memoirs of a trespasser, By the fireplace, vanilla romance, bare vanilla, viva vanilla, Ellis Brooklyn Marshmallows, and woody vanillas in general ect. I know ppl were disappointed from the ad campaign imagery at launch but jfc this is exactly what the notes portray: a sweet, woody vanilla. It's good! And it lasts for hoursss, one of my top fall faves, love

Very, very sweet, almost marshmallow-y, but not in an absolutely strong way-- it settles into such a delicate, sweet and fragile scent. Definitely one of the vanilla scents in which you can SMELL SMELL the vanilla. Perfect for me as vanilla is my personal favorite base note. It's just so delicately and does its job perfectly, and it seems as if the organic notes and smells have this fresh ingredient feel, like something that has just been harvested and is new. Gourmand-like.

Listen, this gets a lot of negativity but I am here to tell you it's a very easy to wear vanilla fragrance. Slightly musky and woody rather than foody, but it's sure to get you compliments and make you feel cozy. Affordable as well. I enjoy Snif as a house very much....they're creative but wearable. But honestly, this is one of the most wearable vanillas that I own, and I own A LOT. Also great for layering if you're into that. If you're not fully sure, grab a mini! ♥

This was a blind buy for me and at first I wasn't sure if I would like it very much, but it is actually one of my FAVORITE scents to wear now. It's a woody, smoky, and not-too-sweet vanilla. It's longevity and sillage is great too, I get alot of compliments when I wear this one. I've been layering it with Viva Vanilla from Bath and Bodyworks and they work perfectly together, I think it's pretty much a dupe for Vanilla Vice. Anyway, 10/10 and would recommend. 🖤

this is a excellent woody vanilla. This is my first fragrance from this house. I’m not getting ice cream or any milky notes but I am getting excellent wood mixed with vanilla. Actually the longevity and sillage is pretty good also. Is it something that hasn’t been done before...NO it smells like most with these notes but I will say I really like it! Not bad for the price and I will being trying more from this house! Excellent 10/10! Anyone can wear this!

A woody, somewhat smoky vanilla. It's simple but I'm still intrigued. I definitely get the Mod Vanilla and Kayali Silk Santal comparisons. If I had to choose which it leans to the most, it's the Kayali (which I have & love). This is a sophisticated ice cream cone. Emphasis on the CONE. It's longlasting as well. This can very easily be layered or casually worn on an everyday basis. Madagascar Vanilla just does it for me every time.

I really love it. very sweet, almost sugary sweet. very addictive vanilla ice cream-like scent. I can imagine the vanilla ice cream with rich vanilla beans when I smell this perfume. I actually really love this perfume and I thought this is really unique and worth to buy before I tried AG Mod Vanilla. the scent that last on skin is really similar. kinda sad that this is not irreplaceable perfume. But I really love it.

The first time I tried Vanilla Vice I hated it, but after wearing it a few more times the scent really grew on me. It's my most complimented scent by women and men, and had great longevity. Sexy woody sultry vanilla ice cream. Very feminine and flirtatious. Great for a first date or a day out. I see most people prefer this as a fall/winter scent but I went though a whole bottle last summer.

I can smell the ice cream and cone. I strayed on a test strip. Unfortunately it was mostly gone when I got home. I'm very impressed anyway. Ive searched high and dry all night on here looking for a long lasting ice cream note. Nothing that smells like this one 😭 closest I heard was dua and sold out. Same price and longevity for 1 mm. Might as well be niche at this price w out staying power

Blind buy success for me! Sweet but not saccharine, warm vanilla. Not soft serve ice cream as advertised, but lovely nonetheless. I realize the scent doesn't work for everyone, but this smells SO good on me: very balanced vanilla musk. Super wearable. Reminds me a bit of OG Warm Vanilla Sugar from BBW (circa 2000) before the reformulations ruined that scent.

I don’t know why Vanilla Vice gets so much hate. It’s a beautiful, slightly sweet, woody vanilla. It’s affordable with great longevity and projection. It’s better balanced than some of the other woody/smoky vanillas it’s often compared to. It’s a daytime scent with enough interest for an evening out. I personally love Vanilla Vice.

this is so good. its a strong, woody vanilla fragrance that has that deep, sweet, addicting nature of cheirosa 62. its definitely a woody vanilla, and i wouldn’t say it smells like ice cream, but it’s sooo so intoxicating. i can definitely see it getting tons of compliments. not sure where the hate on this scent is coming from.

Gorgeous, rich syrup and vanilla with a fun hint of waffle cone. I consider myself a gourmand aficionado, and this one takes the cake for rich soft serve ice cream. It has a lovely muskiness to it, but still retains the essential DNA of vanilla and a freshly baked cone. I can practically smell the sprinkles.

I personally love this scent, I am a true gourmand lover and wasn’t really expecting this to smell just like a creamy ice cream. I dont have the Mod Vanilla everyone is comparing this to, but I am enjoying this scent, it kind of reminds me of a sweeter Arabians Tonka and I adore Arabians Tonka

It absolutely smells like ice cream to me! I even get a hint of the waffle cone. The woody notes give me a really soft and comforting tobacco smell. Finally found my favorite vanilla scent along with Vanilla 28, 9.5/10

I do like this. Its over priced tho bc there's isn't good performance. Its familiar to silky woods, Arabian Tonka and instant crush to my nose. So if u like them ,you'll probably love this. But it's overpriced.

This reminds me of Sol De Janeiro 40 body mist spray.. both layer are amazing!! But if you want that extra vanilla musk??! Add Mod vanilla by Ari and guuuurl it’s a wraaaap 🤓😝 Thank me laterrrr 🥸

I honestly don't know how this isn't rated higher. If you like a sweet, ambery, musky, woody vanilla you'll likely love this. It's one of my all time favorite vanillas.

i’m not a very experienced fragrance hunter, but this is my favorite vanilla. i can pick out nearly every note, a very well-balanced, creamy scent.

This one gives ice cream cone, not vanilla ice cream. I need to be in the right mood for this profile but I generally like it.

I LOVE this. On my skin it smells like a woody, smokey, vanilla cotton candy. 😍

Okay, I just sprayed it and upon first impression it smells VERY similar to Mod Vanilla by Ariana Grande, I would say 80% similar but there is something weird... before even reading the notes I said to myself, let's try and guess the notes, I said: wood lots of wood, vanilla, ice cream of course, musk but there was something else I couldn't pinpoint, I though some herb or some spice, I though saffron, cumin, bay, or oregano, or something metallic. hen I read the notes and saw Orcanox, and thought wtf hahah then I read that it is a synthetic note that smells of cypress oil or labdanum or sage. Makes TOTAL sense. In my opinion, this 'Orcanox' note is turning the perfume in a weird direction, I can't get past it, but don't get me wrong I enjoy it since I love Mod Vanilla. Weird one for sure bth I don't know what crack you smoking @ArlissLux because this is almost identical to Mod Vanilla, people aren't saying that for fun.

vanilla vice is one of the most interesting vanilla fragrances i have tried. initially it has an intense musky, woody, alcohol smell to it that honestly is not that appealing. however, once it starts to dry down, it completely transforms into a vanilla ice cream. but not in a gourmand way, more of a literal way. it’s reminiscent of pure vanilla extract where at first when you smell it in its pure form it’s obviously mainly alcohol, but once it’s added into something (specifically in the case- ice cream) it brings forward a delicious, cozy, creamy flavor. it’s extremely hard to describe. and i can see why this would be polarizing because it’s not that great at first, but once it settles, its the closest i’ve smelled to a photorealistic vanilla ice cream ever! this is 100% NOT for everyone, but if you’re willing to give it a go i’d say to wear it throughout the day and make your final impression after a full day. 7.5/10

Whiff of Waffle Cone is my most beloved gourmand. Vanilla Vice is not that. It is a cool, sugared vanilla extract with a Heavy (capital H) dose of synthetic aroma chemicals. This is the vanilla flavoring you would put in the ice cream - not the actual desert itself. The ambery sweet drydown is where the real magic happens, but by that time, it is but a faint w(h)isp of a scent. I'm not sure where everyone is getting smoky-ness... it's simply not there. This is a cold, shimmering, synthetic vanilla extract whereas Waffle Cone is warm, toasted, woody, and slightly smoky. All that to say I actually really do enjoy this - it's a great transition scent from the heavy gourmands of the cold months to the lightness of spring. I like the smell of aroma chemicals. I blind bought this, and when I run out, I'll probably buy it again. Is it top of the list? No... but it's such an easy vanilla to reach for. 7/10

At first spray, it smelled very similar to Kayali's Vanilla 28 (with a hint of that cold ice cream note in Yum Pistachio Gelato). Then as it dried down, more of a sweetness came out and it started to smell closer to Ariana Grande's Mod Vanilla. There's something almost like a black pepper note here, but it's very minor and gives it a touch of depth. Overall, it's a woody, musky, almost overwhelmingly sweet vanilla. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm also pretty impressed with the longevity and projection on this one, lasting more than I had expected at about four to five hours. This is a safe blind buy if you like either of the fragrances I listed above, but a bit redundant if you already own either. That said, they're not exact dupes if you smell them side-by-side. I don't regret my blind buy of this as I purchased it 50% off, so consider waiting for a sale if you're interested.

To me this smells strikingly similar to Roses Vanille of you took out the rose. It’s all vanilla and musk, and very sweet. I’m a vanilla girl until the day I die so I don’t think I could ever hate a vanilla fragrance, and this truly is vanilla, but I don’t love this particular kind of musk. I’ve smelled it in other fragrances (including Roses Vanille and the B&BW Viva Vanilla spray) and to my nose it’s more musty/animalic than powdery/fresh. It’s grown on me in other fragrances though so I’ll probably use up my sample and see if how I feel changes. 6/1/25 Edit: this has grown on me a lot. It’s a super woody musky vanilla so if you’re expecting a very sugary gourmand you may be disappointed. It does feel a little more appropriate for cool weather. I’ve also gotten compliments from strangers when wearing it.

For me personally upon first spray & sniff, I get Mercedes Benz Club Black / Mod Vanilla by Ariana Grande vibes with this one! Was excited for a scent that really lets that ice cream note shine, however this scent doesn't really give that note to me as much as I would want it personally. I will say for those who do not own Mercedes Benz Club Black or Mod Vanilla by Ariana Grande and you happen to get this first, you will definitely enjoy the DNA as it is a great vanilla, ambery scent! As someone who owns both Mercedes Benz Club Black & Mod Vanilla by Ariana Grande, having this in my collection would just be a bit redundant, so I more than likely will be returning. Love Snif's try at home service for this exact reason and will continue to check out what the brand offers over time!

I left a review a little over a year ago after trying it on in store. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so a year later I bought it. I can see why some people dislike it, especially at first. It smells very much like a cheap body spray for a moment, but then the scents start coming through. It's very innocent ? it almost smells like something id wear in highschool, in a good way. The dry down is so unique , a whole day after applying i got compliments. I think it's the Orcanox that really sold me. Its almost got a sort of gothic feel to it which i love immensely. Though not for everyone with it having some unique notes, it's a pretty damn safe vanilla. Even my mother who gets headaches easily loves it. (I love layering it with Turmeric Latte by Lush, wink wink)

It's true...Vanilla Vice is not very different from many on the market today. It's not going to blow your socks off. It does share very similar vibes to that of Vanilla Mod/Waffle Cone/etc. Having said that, I really enjoy this fragrance. I wouldn't say it was "boring", rather familiar and I find comfort in it. It's a safe, easy reach. Does it smell like what it's advertising presents? No. To me, it's a deeper, almost boozy, slightly woody/smokey vanilla than that of "ice-cream vanilla". It lasts long, has decent projection, and I've received a compliment wearing it. For the price (there's often deals), it's really good and I enjoy having it in my collection. 😊

Very similar to Mahni Cassonade. I might like this one slightly better. Definitely a sweet vanilla with a bit of toasty campfire going on. Could also be just the smell of waffle cone which might give off the toasted vibe. It’s not what I thought it would be but I do like it and have decided to keep it. Regarding the BR540 dna people are mentioning: I get NONE of that and I can’t stand anything even remotely close to BR540. I’m one of the people that get “dentist office” vibes from BR540. I do NOT get that from Vanilla Vice. So if you hate BR540 like I do, do not write this off just because of the other comments on here comparing them.

This is a really interesting warm, woodsy vanilla. The Amberwood note can be really polarizing sometimes, but in this perfume it really works well with the vanilla and musk. This perfume was a pleasant surprise when I put it on, having no idea what to expect. I wouldn't compare this to ice cream, I don't think it's sugary or sweet. Definitely try on skin before you buy. Performance is really good for the price. Lasts more than 4 hours, a little longer on clothes. Work safe, not blind buy safe. Excellent packaging and presentation as well. simple and sweet vanilla, nothing very complex about this but it’s nice. first wear i kept picking up on a sharp astringent musk that was unpleasant but after trying the fragrance a couple times since i haven’t noticed it. perhaps i was just sensitive to the orcanox that time or something about the fragrance & alcohol in the perfume hadn’t mingled well upon first spray. i’ve liked wearing it since though, being in a warmer climate this feels less heavy than some of my favorite scents for this time of year so i’m excited to add it to the fall/winter rotation.

To my nose, this fragrance is like BBW's Vanilla Romance had a baby with Laura Mercier's Eau Gourmande Ambre Vanille. If you feel like the former's cardamom note is far too spicy and the latter is too ambery, Vanilla Vice is a good middle ground. It's warm, rich and sweet. It reminds me of walking into our local ice cream shop on a cold day, the heat is on, the windows are steamed up, and the scent of toasty, freshly made waffle cones is filling the air. I like this a lot and will use up my small bottle, but I'm not sure if I'll purchase a FB when it's gone.

There's been a lot of controversy with the marketing of this perfume, but honestly I think they nailed it. It's understandable to be expecting a vanilla ice cream and warm waffle cone fragrance, but this one isn't it! To me it opens slightly metallic and cool, similar to going inside a Baskin Robins during a hot day and the cold, vaguely sweet air hits you. After that the dry down is smooth and sweet, reminiscent of lucky charms marshmallows. It's a fragrance wearable during a hot summer day and to go out the sane night.
