Caramel Pistachio

It’s very similar to Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 and Sol Cheirosa 62 Eau de Parfum and also very similar to Minya by Paris Corner (the green one, which I believe is a dupe/inspiration for SdJ 62/Sol 62 EdP). I don’t own SdJ 62 myself so I can’t compare them side by side, and so I obviously can’t compare longevity or sillage either. I do own Minya though, I recently got it and when I sprayed and smelled it a second time (after letting it sit for a couple of weeks), I realised that this body mist also is a dupe of or close to SdJ 62, I have had this for several months and hadn’t realised that before, I haven’t really been using it much yet either. Minya and this is very close, but this is lighter and more airy than Minya, obviously, since being a body mist, and it obviously also has way less longevity than Minya (which both projects and lasts!). I believe that this is also slightly more floral and slightly less nutty and creamy, so not at all as cloying as Minya. My partner wasn’t very impressed with this when I first got it and used it a few times, he didn’t dislike it but didn’t love it either. And when I first got Minya he thought that it smelled weird and he didn’t like it. I didn’t like it either and I thought that it was too cloying and smelled like old lady and/or old lady soap or cream/body lotion. But then I tried Minya again on my wrist two days ago and later when me and my partner were making dinner together he said that I smelled good, I let him smell my wrist and he now liked it a lot, and he didn’t realise that it was the same fragrance that he had disliked a couple of weeks earlier. I mentioned that and he said that it smelled a lot better now, and I agreed with him. I could still smell a bit of old lady though, but perhaps that’s some kind of association for me or something, and it didn’t really bother me. Anyway, the day after that (yesterday) I suddenly remembered this body mist for some reason and I immediately sprayed it on me and I realised that it is very similar to Minya (but better!), and also to SdJ 62/Sol 62 EdP. When my partner came home from work I asked him to guess what fragrance I was wearing and he said that I was wearing Minya again, like the day before, so he even thought that it was the same fragrance! I said that it wasn’t and that he hadn’t really been a fan of this when I got it a couple of months ago and he said that he is now! I actually prefer this to Minya, fragrance/scent wise, this doesn’t give me any old lady vibes at all! It’s sweet but not cloying, creamy and nutty but not overly so, and floral but not too floral (probably even if you’re not really a big fan of florals). But of course the projection and especially the longevity isn’t even close to Minya, with this being a body mist (and with Minya being an Eau de Parfum, and quite the beast mode), so I tried layering this with Minya and that made Minya a lot better, more pleasant and more wearable in my opinion! So suddenly both this and Minya became fragrances that I will wear, and especially together! This really brings out the best in Minya and also takes out/mutes/tones down the aspects of Minya that I didn’t like very much. I will definitely be using this without Minya as well, but layered with other fragrances (EdPs), since it’s a body mist and won’t last an entire day. I (almost) always wear EdP with body mists/sprays, if nothing else for longevity. I want to add that I usually love heavy, sweet, gourmand fragrances so that wasn’t the issue with Minya! It was heavy (in a bad way), cloying and made me associate it with some sort of old lady scent, so it wasn’t that it was too sweet, heavy or gourmand for me, I usually love those types of fragrances! I actually think that that was why I haven’t been using this very much yet, I think it was a little bit too light, airy and floral-y for me, at least during this season (fall/winter), and also considering that I bought this (a blind buy) when I was trying to find a gourmand pistachio fragrance and this wasn’t really that to me. I thought that it was a nice and pleasant fragrance but it wasn’t what I was looking for or expecting at the time, and I couldn’t even sense any pistachio or caramel either at the time. I can sense the pistachio and caramel better now, I don’t know if it’s because it has been sitting for a couple of months or because I suddenly could smell it because of Minya. It isn’t at all an obvious gourmand to me, at least not a super sweet and heavy gourmand, but a bit more light, fresh and airy sort of gourmand, but without flipping over and feeling like a “fresh” or “clean” fragrance (which I don’t like at all!). It kind of sits quite nicely in between, so it might appeal to “clean girls” as well as gourmands! Perhaps especially if you layer it, I definitely think that it would work very well layered with both fresh/clean scents and gourmand scents! And probably also with fruity scents and florals. And in my opinion it works all day and year round. And also for most ages as well, it’s not an obvious “young” or “old” fragrance. So I think that this could work very well for a lot of different women, of different ages and with a lot of different tastes in fragrances, since it’s so versatile! I think that it can be, or become, what you make of it! Plus it’s really affordable (I got it for about $3-6) and the projection and longevity is actually very good for a body mist, it definitely performs better than any body mist/spray from Victoria’s Secret that I’ve tried! Both on clothes/fabric, skin and hair. I’m very happy with it and I’m glad that I got it! I’m also happy that I tried it again before winter is over, otherwise I probably would have waited until spring to start using it. I would definitely consider this a safe blind buy to most women (or people who use or like fragrances that are generally considered female fragrances), especially considering the price, but of course I can’t make any promises. It would probably also make a good gift to many, if not most, women, so if you get it and don’t like it you could probably find someone to give it to.

One of the most creamy pistachio ice cream scent I have ever smelled. And it stays on my skin a great deal for a body mist. <3
