Smoothie Star Fragrance Spritz

@shadowsoflight yes!! The old formulation used to be way more almond and pistachio forward. It was SO good. My favorite scent of all time but they reformulated it and it’s much less creamy nutty now 😭 the body spray is a more alcoholic version of the creams. And reflects the reform more than the OG scent. I still love it though - 10/10 for me always! 🤍

This, I actually don't have in body spray form (maybe I should say 'yet', there's the possibility that I could buy this), but I have body wash in this scent and am very happy with it. I suspect a fair amount of people might wonder if this bears any similarity with Sol de Janeiro fragrances, on account of the nutty profile. It doesn't. I cannot exactly explain why, but SDJ stuff tends to be thickly gourmond, almost salty...and has a certain brand signature that's difficult to define, but if you smell enough of them you can recognize it. I LOVE nutty fragrances, but this isn't as nutty as I expected. However, that's alright, because the powdery heliotrope and sandalwood are lovely. They blend together in a manner that makes it hard to pinpoint either. This isn't a *gloopy*, gross syrup, but it smells like maple syrup with shaved almond bits atop some pancakes. Yet....it's soapy too. It makes you feel as if you've recently showered, and came out for breakfast on a chilly fall morning. I won't remark on performance because, again, I'm only sniffing the body wash. 🧼 🥞 🍁 🌄

I've had this spritz for a few months and it's...okay. I wish it was more lactonic, or had stronger fruit presence, or even a more pronounced nuttiness. It's very floral, but not in a way that I can pinpoint a specific flower. It's a very dry, powdery sweetness, in the way that you might smell when you enter a changing room in a mall right after a grandma. I keep it at work for a cheap scent that's not overpowering and vaguely pleasant, but I've never gotten compliments while wearing it. It might work well as a layering option for something else.
