Lost In Paradise

Sofia Vergara Lost in Paradise opens with a pungent, sweet, bubble gum or juicy-fruity, chewy candy note that settles into a milder, version of the same, with a hint of fruity tartness. This opening must be courtesy of the soursop and Nashi pear, two fruits I'm not familiar with; I don't particularly smell any apple, though. After this, a more floral quality emerges when creamy gardenia and sweet orange blossom -- two flowers that I love -- join the fruits. I don't really detect any patchouli or musk, specifically, though I think those two things must be what brings in that inedible"perfumey" quality and reins the sweetness in, preventing Lost... from becoming an over-the-top sweet gourmand (I personally am not a giant fan of perfumes that are THAT resolutely gourmand to the point of literally smelling like food). Overall, Lost in Paradise is a warm, somewhat tropical, very fruity, feminine, deliciously sweet scent -- a really pretty choice for fruity-floral lovers. The only downsides of this juice are the longevity and possibly the projection (I haven't worn it out enough to know how it performs in this department, but I do know my husband has not commented on it, indicating it may be on the gentle side, projection-wise). I spray on a ton of this stuff -- in the range of 20 or so spritzes -- to maintain a lovely scent bubble for a 3-4 hour evening (probably 10-12 would suffice for daytime). I think I paid $15-20 for it at Ross, like other fruity-floral cheapie celebrity scents that I love -- Paris Hilton Siren, Mariah Carey Dreams, Jessica Simpson Fancy. For these prices, I'll gladly re-spray to prolong the deliciousness.

This is an interesting one. Very different from the rest of my collection, but still in my favorite fragrance family, floral fruity. When I first sprayed LiP I got a very sharp patchouli note. I hated the initial spray so much that I washed it off immediately. I didn’t even give it a chance for another month. The next time I tried it, I let the perfume work it’s magic. And oh, is it magical. The initial spray is still awful, but on dry down, LiP is so earthy and woody, but still manages to be enough of a fruity floral that I still like it. It has body and depth, and it stayed on my skin for a good 8 hours, and other people could still smell it! Even my sister, who hates it when I wear most perfumes, likes this one. It’s not obnoxiously strong or sweet, but it’s there. It’s very calming, what with the earthy woodiness, and it is my favorite perfume to wear to sleep. 9/10

This smells very sweet upon first spritz. At first i was like what is this? but then the longer the scent stays on my skin the more i like it. The sillage is decent because i kept smelling wafts of it whenever i move. My nose detects more fruity sweet than floral which i prefer more. This kinda smells different than my usual fruity florals, there is something unique in its blend. I dunno if its the mixture of sweet pear and vanilla but the blend leaves a trail of pleasant notes to my nose. It lasted a long time too. Anyway, i am so happy to add this to my collection.

I blind bought this for $20 and it’s my favorite blind buy EVER. (Most of my collection was bought blind) I enjoy Sofia’s perfumes, so I wasn’t worried. BUT... I have never smelled a perfume like this one! It’s delicious...and although I can’t identify the notes, thanks to Albiretu and Alces Alces respective reviews, I now know why it’s so unusual...the guanabana. I absolutely love Lost in Paradise! There’s an addictive quality to it. I can’t stop sniffing my arm! It’s quite different from the rest and it has a decent longevity and sillage too. Thanks Sofia!

A sweet, comforting fruitchouli fragrance. It's exotic and lush while feeling like home. I really love the gardenia and lily of the valley in this, they read as very creamy white florals and make the nashi pear and apple notes feel ripe. The patchouli and teak wood grounds it all and gives the sugary sweet perfume some earthiness and depth. This is the perfect perfume for going on a date to the movies or on a moonlit walk in early fall when the flowers are still in bloom but the air is crisp and chilly.

This is absolutely beautiful! I'm so grateful I've found a scent that plays nice with my body chemistry. It lasts all day on me. I kept the sample I received in my medicine cabinet and I kept going by and sniffing it throughout the day lol I am shocked this isn't more popular. This perfume makes me feel sexy, beautiful and my husband actually likes it. I don't wear perfume all the time but prior it was Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. Now it's Light Blue and Lost In Paradise ~

I sprayed myself a few minutes ago and I must say, again, this smells like nothing I’ve encountered in my perfume journey. Currently, 96 people “have” this perfume and there are only 40 ratings. In my humble opinion, Lost in Paradise is an underrated gem! I love it.

Love. It last on my clothes for 24hours. Not over powering. Pleasant smell. Well blended. Blind buy.

It’s an easy fragrance to like! I love the fruity, bright, bubble gummy opening of this fragrance - and a slight lactonic quality. Like other reviewers have said, it is unique and I think it’s because of that soursop and Nashi pear. There is a hard candy I like with soursop and this smells like it. It starts to go into a vanilla dry down - and I can detect that teakwood note, but not patchouli. It’s sweet, unique without being too overpowering and I could still smell it after 4 hours. I love Sofia’s signature scent also.

This is very pretty, very girlie - smells like Prima Dreams by Avon but not quite as pungent. I think I will enjoy wearing this for spring and summer for sure. This is the 3rd perfume of Sofia Vegaro's that I have tried and they have all been beautiful and long lasting. This also smells like Rogue but better. There is something in Rogue that I don't like that much. I gifted this to my niece and she loved it.

I blind bought this from Macy’s. I like her perfumes. But. This was too similar to Avon’s Prima. Which I love. For a cheapie that Avon is amazing. I kept the Avon over this. Mainly because the Avon leans way more rose. This is more woody tropical and I’m not a fan. Nice. And loved the bottle. However the Avon won. If you want a more tropical woody. Go with lost in paradise. Tropical rose. Prima.

Do I like it? I think. I truly don’t know what to make of it. It’s creamy and floral but there’s something about it that puts me off and confuses me. It has that tropical twist that makes sense from the notes, but other than that, eh. I don’t think this was blended carefully. It’s wearable, I’ll give it another shot in the warmer months.

It starts off pretty promising, tropical but not escada like, the patchouli comes forward in the drydown, and in that phase its very reminiscent of ck forbidden euphoria and midnight rain. The patch is similar to angels patch too. Lasts for hours, very decent perfomance for a celebrity perfume.

Tropical fruity floral. With a patchouli base & some woodiness. The musk & the patch really stand out. Its ok. Not my favorite from Ms. Vergara. I prefer Sofia over this one. But not bad for $20. The lasting power is below average. Maybe 2-3 hours if I overspray 7/10

This was a gift. Love the soursop in the opening, this perfume is so juicy/fruity n lasted a whole day on my clothes.❤️

Smells expensive. However, this perfume builds one's ego to be noticed for the RIGHT REASONS. In other words, this perfume is all about IMAGE. I think this perfume fits only the Miss or lady that will have her hair in an updo (as beautiful loose hair is, it is still considered uncomely) and can make her face pretty for a photo. Not just any photo--one that she can proudly put on display in her home, on the wall. Also, I think black eyeliner (no wing) and khol liner are needed to fit this perfume profile/image. And of course a bright shade of lipstick of any choice. I do value the effort S. Vergara put into this creation because she may have wanted to say, "Hey, smell this? I am as big as the perfumers at Lancome". And she made a great point with this very thing. EDIT: As for the Miss or lady, I would suggest to not try too hard to fit the image because being pretentious is a disservice to oneself. Be yourself, you're all you've got.

Since I loved "Tempting Paradise", "Sofia", and "Love" so much, I decided to try "Lost in Paradise". It was an instant dislike. I put it away for a while and came back to it this year. I didn't dislike it as much, but I decided to gift it to my sister who (thankfully) loves it. Something in LiP simply doesn't work for me.Tempting Paradise is exactly as described-- sweet, fruity, floral, and tropical. Since LiP was described as a fresh, floral, and fruity frag, I was expecting something somewhat similar to TP. There's a note in LiP that causes it to turn sour-- I'm guessing it's the soursop. Coupled with other white/green floral notes (gardenia and lily-of-the-valley), pear (which can be sharp), and patchouli (earthy, woody), it just doesn't work, especially when applied directly on skin. I tried it on clothing as well and still--I just don't like it. Woody/musky/vanilla base notes are typically supposed to lead to a soft/warm dry-down, but this remains somewhat screechy/sharp. There's nothing ground-breaking about LiP-- it's generic, doesn't have the best longevity or sillage, and is forgettable. I suggest trying before buying. Her other three were blind-buys and I don't regret them. This one, I do.

This has some good elements to it, but there's a strong note that smells like cheap handsoap that overpowers everything else. I don't think I'll actually ever wear this.

Generic and unoriginal. Too much fruity wood shavings.

If you're standing in TJ Ross Marshall's checking Fragrantica to decide whether Lost in Paradise is worth a blind buy...I say decidedly YES. This fragrance is a delicious surprise; pickins have been slim lately, and my last few purchases disappointed. In fact, I wondered whether my bout last winter with covid permanently distorted my once nearly legendary (to a few friends) senses of taste and smell. But au contraire! My olfactories rejoiced to smell Lost in Paradise! Fruity florals nearly always begin with a bright fruit note, usually citrus, but in LIP we have a truly original opening - guanabana! Like Goya guanabana nectar, sorta overripe strawberry mixed with green banana, if you have never drunk Goya's version. The fantastic opening feels like stepping off the cruise boat onto an island with a favorable exchange rate, just optimistic and exciting. I also detect the apple, but mostly the opening is guanabana, which I understand is listed here as "soursop." Once the opening burns off you get a sweet waxy gardenia. It's a well done gardenia, more of the waxy petal feel than the sharp Prell shampoo note that can cause gardenia to go so wrong. On me it's a banana peel gardenia, green and white, a blend of green banana peels and real gardenias. I have a lot of gardenia perfumes, yet this cheapie may be one of my favourites. Patchouli lingers in the drydown, but it's a surprise somehow because I don't usually link tropical fruits and gardenia with patchouli. If the base had been amber or vanilla, this would be so so, a typical tropical beachy perfume.The patchouli adds that extra gritty quality that makes you think you are smelling fresh fruit. Fresh tropical fruit is not always a pleasant smell. Sometimes there is a vegetal quality to it. LIP captures that by blending guanabana and patchouli. At the tail end of this fragrance's trajectory there is a period when it smell very much like L'Artisan's Bana Banana (a huge favorite). By no means a dupe! LIP is a fun cheap summer fruity floral done well, whereas Bana Banana is a high quality tropical oriental, a real exotic. But they do dovetail for part of the drydown. Take my review with a grain of salt. I live in a hot, humid place, and I have a passion for Cuban food and Caribbean fruits. If you crave a tropical scent that is NOT BEACHY, you may want to get Lost in Paradise. I don't know anything about Sofia Vergara. This scent smells like it belongs in the Lilly Pulitzer collection more than a celebrity line. At the very end this smells.like baby powder made from dried bananas. Absolutely the BEST part.

Soursop is an incredibly rare note to find in perfume (there are only 4 fragrances with this note on fragrantica) and it’s a delicious Caribbean fruit extremely famous and loved in Colombia. It’s called guanábana, and if Colombia was a fruit, that would be it! I absolutely adored jugo de guanábana when I was in Colombia for two months, and still drink it in Canada whenever I can find it. This perfume smells just like it, with the addition of some other delicious notes. The fact that Sofia Vergara decided to make a perfume with such a distinctive Colombian note really makes me see that she is passionate about the perfumes she makes, and that is a great thing to know for a perfume lover. It’s such a bummer when celebrities don’t even know what a perfume with their name on smells like, but hers aren’t like that! It lasts for a long time on me, and for this price, I’ll be happy to buy a bigger bottle. I love Sofia Vergara and I think her signature scent Sofia is great, so I always wanted to try all her other perfumes. I found this in a gift set for 17 CAD and had to pick it up, and I’m so happy I did! I hope I collect them all. All I smell is guanábana (soursop) and I love it! I can’t detect any other specific notes. Nothing is out of place here. Just a gorgeous fruity scent. If you want a perfume to remind you of Colombia, this is it!

Picked up this beautiful perfume up on sale after testing it out several times. Unlike my SJP Lovely, I can smell this one for at least 6 hours. It's hot and humid, but this is just fabulous. Sweet little patchouli vanilla fragrance with supporting woods. It is not super woody or a patchouli or vanilla bomb. To my nose, it's blended well. Love this one as my vanilla scent.

This smells exactly like si by Giorgio Armani to me. Maybe slightly fruitier but that’s it. It’s a nice scent for anyone that’s in to heavy patchouli scents or fruitchouli . That’s just not my thing anymore. I actually detest the smell of patchouli these days. I think I’ll be returning this.
