Centennial

I'm not a huge chypre fan, and if you're looking for the angular, bitter-mossy green type of chypre, you may not enjoy. Centennial, however, is very gentle and floral atop its honest-to-goodness real-chypre base. There is a great softness to it, a tactile sense that I can't describe other than using the word "fuzzy." As in "sweater" or "blanket" - it's just soft and comfortable, leaving a lovely warmth in its wake. Sillage is moderate but lasting power is very good on me (I typically have scent-eating skin). It reminds me to some degree of Mitsouko, not so much the smell (and Mitsy is kind of a b*tch, at least on me, YES, even in the vintage parfum, I have tried and tried) but the warmth and blended quality. Lovely stuff. Liz is phasing most of her fragrances out. If you're inclined to try it, do it now.

Has a mythical golden fruit quality, like a fruit that's more spice than fruit. Also a dry, dusty note I love. In addition to the rounded, spicy quality, there's also a lovely floral overlay. The drydown is a classy chypre. Awesome! Definitely going to buy a bottle of this.
