Massive Patchouli

I was expecting more "patch massivity" given the word "massive" in its name. It's a nice patch juice. Non-offensive. Quality. It's patch f'shizzle, but it's not super distinctive. There are a lot of patch juices out there that smell something like this. If you live for patch (natch) you should sniff this stuff. I found it to be a close scent and it didn't last all that long - but maybe I just didn't put enough on!

A somewhat un-massive MOR vanilla-patchouli that feels more like a testament to orris and moss. However, I’d imagine that a literal "massive patchouli" would be both pointless and unpalatable, so points for being considerate I suppose. It’s sweeter than you might expect, but it tried to disguise the textbook patch/vanilla trick (one of the most failsafe moves in perfumery) by throwing in a bit of citrus and some slightly leafier things. The vanilla feels more floral—as in heliotrope-style vanilla, so it’s not straight-up cake, nor is it raunchy bean. It’s polite, slightly diaphanous, and works well in the composition. The patchouli however is a bit timid given the scent’s name. I wonder if ramping up the minty or earthy facets might have helped to give the scent a bit more kick as it does feel a tad reserved overall. Pleasant but dull, I’d really only recommend this one if you’re unusually enamored with the patchouli/vanilla combo and your life's mission is to smell them all.
