Pink Praline

This one lives up to 70% of my expectation, and that's not bad because I thought this was going to be the DEFINITE gourmand of the ages! Cocoa, maple, honey, tonka bean, coffee.. How can you sound even better than that? Not to mention they're all REAL, not just some suggestive notes made out of chemical compounds like in so many commercial fragrances! Well, truth to be told I was expecting something like Bittersweet from Tokyo Milk, but I forgot the name is "Pink" Praline, which apparently is represented by a substantial amount of (pink?) grapefruit, maple, and tonka, making it more like a nutty candy (with liquor in it) than chocolate

This is an absoutely delicious elegant scent. This is the natural fragrance version of The Coquin. Chocolate here is rich and deep and tonka adding it's balmy warm character are the centerpiece of this delicious combination. Lasts an average of 5 hours arms length at most. Think is the natural version of Guerlain's Gourmand Coquin. This is mostly the sweetness of real maple, honey and warm vanilla. It carries well in the cold winter we have been having.A light pink grapefruit helps work synergitically to brighten the vanilla/tonka and then it fades away quickly while others take stage. Because it is a realistic (no added sugar) to each note it does not overpower or become headache inducing, but that warm sweet skin scent that is beautiful bordering edible and keeps you coming back for more. The lighter sweeter notes are grounded in a rich smooth coffee, cinnamon and tonka, that creates depth.

Because this house uses all natural ingredients, I think this is a scent that will rely heavily on skin chemistry to develop. My ex’s hobby was woodworking and he often used exotic woods, so I’m pretty used to the smell. On me, the cocoa/cinnamon/coffee/tonka bean/maple syrup notes translated into brazilian rosewood sawdust covered in maple syrup in the middle of a cinnamon factory. My skin projects spice and the cinnamon in the opening was waaaaaaaay too strong for me. This is the first perfume in a long time that actually makes my stomach turn. I’m sure that on the right chemistry, this is pure magic, but on me, not so much.
