After Hours

This is totally duping Montale’s Sweet Flowers. As soon as I sprayed this I recognized it immediately. It’s quite strong at first spray but not necessarily long lasting. Not sure if this is redundant in my collection as Sweet Flowers is so strong and long lasting it absolutely does not need any extra help or top up from a matching body spray. I guess I will enjoy this scent when I want to smell like Sweet Flowers but for a short duration only. UPDATE: I am going to miss this one dearly. Went to Sephora to purchase a backup bottle and there are NONE to be found ANYWHERE!! Arghhhh I was really enjoying wearing this as Montale Sweet Flowers is too strong for this office but this was perfect. I wish this could have stayed in Sol Janeiro’s regular lineup. I will swap with anyone who doesn’t want their bottle :)

I admit, I have a tendency to try just about any fragrance with an after dark theme. This one delivered for sure. The initial spray took me back years ago when I'd douse myself in JLo After Dark. I immediately smelled dark berries, a hint of florals and a candy like creaminess. After a few moments, I could detect some patchouli and some grounding woodiness, but that was an afterthought. The scent skews a bit younger, but not too young; I would have lived in this fragrance every summer for years. I can definitely see the comparisons to Flowerbomb, but I like this so much better - while it lasts. Longevity is terrible, but hopefully the bottle is big enough to last until it's next release.

I just picked up After Hours today. It was flying off the shelves at Sephora. I do like this fragrance a lot. All the notes come together so sweet & lovely, and all are present to my nose except for the patchouli which I cannot detect. When I first sniffed it, it reminded me of Into the Night by BBW. My husband complimented me on it too. When I told him it was unisex he gave himself a lil spritz and enjoyed it. I live in Florida so I'll prob gravitate towards this frag in the cool/colder months. The perfumer (Gino Percontino) also created Hollister Free Wave which I wear daily into the office. If you are thinking about buying this, just pull the trigger.

This just hit Australian shores and I got to try it for the first time today! I sprayed it this morning and 5 hours later I can still smell it! Definitely a humble mix between flower bomb and black opium minus the coffee. I don’t like black opium but I LOVE this body spray. It also smells like weaker version of glasshouse kyoto in bloom candle and the edp. Definitely long lasting on my skin - it was sold out at Mecca but I was able to place an order online! I can’t wait for it to be in my collection, definitely a scent for a night out!

This smells really good. I already ordered back up bottles! If flowerbomb and Dior Addict 2012 made a baby it would be this! I like Flowerbomb but it’s too strong and sweet for me and I loved Dior addict 2012. I just can’t get past the opening, in the 2014 version, to get to the dry down. So for me it’s a win win because it is Not as sweet and strong as Flower Bomb and the dry down (to me) resembles Dior Addict 2012 (which was to die for). I love the flower/vanilla combo. Let’s say I am “addicted” to that creamy/bougie vanilla ending!

The whipped cream note pull through! Without the creaminess in this mist, it would fall flat for me. It balances out the amberwood note that I don't enjoy. Reminds me of Diamond Sky from Victoria Secret but make it more perfume like and creamier. Also, this is one of the best body mist/colognes out there that I've tried. Unlike VS or BBW, the scent bubble it creates last that I still get whiffs even after 45 minutes of spraying it.

Its just mature and sexy enough while still being versatile. More floral than vanilla. Extremely sweet but has a lot of depth. Lasts about 30 minutes on skin but when sprayed on clothing it literally lasts all night... 8 hours after applying, with no more sprays in-between, I could still smell it. I think this is a summer scent rather than a winter scent, great for warm summer nights.

This smells quite nice . It’s definitely nothing new and to me it smells like bath and body works “ into the night” and “flowerbomb “ mixed. So flowerbomb with a darker berry and patchouli. I’m happy but I was hoping for something more unique. Not sure how anyone could compare it to the og 62 though. It smells nothing like that and it’s not a flanker so it’s not supposed to

I have a gazillion perfumes but right now I’m OBSESSED with this body spray. Sure, it smells a little bit like flowerbomb, but the gourmand custardy blackcurrant aspect of it just SHINES. Like cheesecake with a raspberry swirl on top. What a stunning release!

Smells just like the shade of the bottle it’s in... midnight on a hot end of summer night.... Doesn’t smell like any Flowerbomb flanker or Og- and the patch in this turns me off. It could’ve gone without the patch.

If I had to rank it among the other SdJ mists I’ve tried, this would get second place, just behind «Cheirosa 40». I love that it’s heavier and more mature, it widens the range of the brand’s scents.

This one is insane! One of the best from this company. I love 42' , I hate 72' and radiance one but this one is simply amazing

Have been looking for a new daily perfume since learning Lush was discontinuing my old signature, Rentless (still have a bit left of my bottle, but holding on to its precious drops now). Trying to save money, so I went looking for something affordable that was also vegan and paraben-free. SDJ ticks these boxes. Like many of you, I frequently smell SDJ frags on others while out and about — but usually it's their sweeter/gourmand stuff, like Chierosa 62 or 71. Nothing against those, but they don't feel right for me (71's sweetness is a bit sickening for me personally). ANYWAY: I went and smelled all their perfumes, and After Hours was the undeniable standout for me. It smelled so familiar and nostalgic, and only after reading reviews here did I realise that yes, this is basically just Flowerbomb — which I used to wear all the time when I was, like, 15/16. This does mean it smells a bit cheap/juvenile/dated/childish BUT I say all of those things with affection. That's exactly what I'm looking for right now. It reminds me of a time when I was more free, when I was still a child but maturing (someone described this as a Flowerbomb's older sister, and I agree). I do wish it had a bit more longevity/sillage but it's understandable for what it is. Been putting this on every day and feeling pretty. This perfume takes my mind off of silly things, makes me feel confident and gorgeous and flirty, and reminds me to have fun.

This reminds me of a lot of the above perfumes, but it is lighter. Very inexpensive so I picked up a bottle. Will be nice to wear around a lot of people, a crowd pleaser. Light, sweet, fruity w/ night blooming jasmine w/ whipped cream and patchouli. My husband really likes this. Easy dumb reach for fall and winter. Smells like Flowerbomb nicer easier going cousin. I find flowerbomb a bit screechy and can't wear it. I will probably use this perfume a lot in those situations where a lighter crowd-pleasing scent is called for. I can see many of my friends liking this one. My girlfriend last night liked it when we both sampled it shopping at Sephora. It would also make a good hand sanitizer since it is so full of alcohol. I sampled a few in this line last night and After Hours was the best of the lot. But I'm not a big gourmand fan which that is kind of what this brand is known for. After hours for me goes up to the limit for me on sweetness. It smells similar to many of the above fragrances w/out the high price tag. Which they are not worth IMO. But $24 is fine for this type of scent.

I bought this scent blind as I am a huge fan of the the cheirosa 71 and, at the time, couldn't find it in stores near me. My thoughts on this perfume mist are mixed. I like the scent however it makes me slightly nauseous or kind of light headed? I don't have enough experience with perfumes to really pin point what in it is causing this reaction, however I get a similar feeling to the Chloe Eau de Parfum Chloé. I suspect it might be the freesia note in both which is causing this reaction. Regardless, I find that a light spray (avoiding the neck) before going out works best for me. I like how the scent settles, when the jasmine and vanilla really shine through. I also favour the blackcurrant a lot, and I think it is that note that makes it ideal for evening. I would recommend trying in store before buying!

This body spray was a gift, and as soon as I smelled it I was greeted by the familiarity of one of my other perfumes. it smells exactly like v&r flower bomb. I feel like SDJ has this sort of trend of imitating popular fragrances. I like flower bomb and I like this one too. I prefer to wear it during the evening or date night. it smells sweet floral and warm. if you love scents like flower bomb then you will like this one too!

What everyone is saying is true: This is a Flowerbomb dupe. I'm happy I don't have my Flowerbomb tester but I'm a bit bummed. However I should have known better since I'm not the biggest fan of floral patchouli scents (especially with jasmine). However I can say I don't hate it. It's pretty nice and once it dries down it's a bit more muscy and creamy than Flowerbomb. Like Flowerbomb's more mature and chic older sister.

It’s a nice smell but it doesn’t last. I rattled through a bottle in about a month and it just doesn’t stick for long enough for me to want to buy another bottle. Amber, vanilla and blackcurrant. It’s a wonderful combination and I wish someone would get their hands on it to make a proper perfume out of it.

This reminds me of Dark Kiss from Bath & Body Works. I understand the comparison with Flowerbomb, but this is more mature, complex, and sexy, and definitely only an evening fragrance. I really like this scent but it is quite strong and I can completely understand if some people are not a fan.

Flowers, black current, vanilla and patchouli. Yes, another fruitchuli far from unique but very very pleasant. To be honest I really like it ‘cuz I adore the FlowerBomb DNA and also, longevity is awesome for a body splash. I would buy After Hours again. It is an easy reach for me.

Not very unique this one in my opinion, I can definitely spot similarities with flowerbomb, and is definitely a patch bomb too. Not outdated though lol I’m sure someone will love it but it’s not my fave from the brand. It’s also nothing like 62 unfortunately.

A mix of Black Opium and FlowerBomb. It smells very good, but it does not last. One hour or so, and it is gone. It is by far, the weakest Sol de Janeiro body mist I have tried, and I have 8 in total of the line. Sad this does not last. The smell is so nice.

I purchased this for my teenage daughter as she has all the Sol de Janeiro sprays and creams and she loves it. Smelling it on her reminds me of La Vie Est Belle by Lancome. Very similar to me anyway, just a very weak version. Nice though!

i think it smells very similar to old spice oasis deodorant (smoked vanilla scent)

this smells so familiar, very similar to flower bomb & into the night. The jasmine and patchouli are definitely there if you’re worried about those notes, but they almost balance out with the caramel. The notes sound very nice together but I can’t detect the whipped cream, pear or berries. Decent longevity but it’s just a body mist. After hours smells a little outdated on the skin. I’ve seen enough of sdj “limited edition” body mists that are really just dupes of old popular perfumes. Can they go back to their roots and make more incredible new scents like they did with ‘62. These limited editions are giving cash grab especially because they’re crowd pleasing weak performing dupes of older popular/cult favorite perfumes. As someone who owns almost all of these body lists, I’m tired of it and wanna see more effort from the brand.

The recent releases from SDJ have been underwhelming and After Hours definitely disappoints. I imagined a strong scent that would be perfect for going out but instead, I guess by After Hours they meant bedtime. The initial spray is very weak and smells like a nondescript mix of fruit and florals. After about 30 min, the scent developed and the dry down smells EXACTLY like Flowerbomb Extreme which is a pretty scent. But I had to dog sniff my arm to smell this. If you don't have Flowerbomb Extreme, this is a good, very light version of it that can be worn anytime of day/night and works in any season.

Very woody vanilla with shampoo-like florals for the opening... That's basically it. I don't hate it, and it's definitely light and not a cloying fragrance. It's by no means unpleasant and it would make a great after-shower scent, but it's the type you'll mostly only like if you love vanilla scents. A very winter-appropriate gentle wood and sweet vanilla scent with a quick hint of florals.

This is different than most SDJ body mists, not beachy and more suitable for colder seasons. It is a nice sweet, vanilla and woody scent on the dry down. I don't smell any of the jasmine, but I do smell a strong pear note in the opening. The blackcurrant fortunately not so much, since I'm not a big fan of that note. Might be good to layer with similar perfumes, like Flowerbomb, Black opium

It smells almost identical to Tropical Nights (the limited edition spray in the purple bottle), which makes sense, because their notes are verrrry similar. It’s just a vanilla floral. If you liked Tropical Nights, I would highly recommend getting this. But also, if you already have Tropical Nights and don’t want a refill, you can skip it and rest assured that you aren’t missing anything.

The notes sit in the same row. The scent is bland and flat. It's missing more dimension. I wish it was more plasticky like cheirosas OR there were more pronounced darker notes. This isn't doing much. That being said, the spray itself is very fragrant and nice for people who like Black Opium adjacent scents.

I get the flowerbomb comparisons. However, I’ve always hated flowerbomb and I like after hours. Flowerbomb was always way too floral for me. After hours has the florals but it’s more woodsy and warm. It’s also very light so I can handle it. That being said I wouldn’t repurchase.

This would be perfect if only it didn’t have the powdery note. Unfortunately that starts to get on my nerves and ruins this otherwise great scent for me. ☹️

This is Sensual Amber from Bath and Bodyworks. Exact. So basically, flowerbomb slash LVEB dupe. No difference, so save your money.

It smelled good just not for me. I picked up on Pear, jasmine and patchouli. I can understand why people enjoy this.

Smells like a stanky designer perfume. But not as bad. Would probably offend some people in a daytime setting

I’ve sprayed this 2, maybe 3 times and it’s a firm no from me. I smell no blackcurrant, no pear, no whipped cream. Just a weak dupe like bad version of flower bomb. This and Cheirosa ‘40 and ‘59 all have a horrid synthetic woody note that I cannot bring myself to like. I really enjoy the woody notes of the new Carioca Crush and Beijos de Sol, there’s just something about those three that I dislike.

This new offering from Sol de Janeiro is horrible, simply put. It smells very dusty, old-fashioned and generic. I cannot even detect the midnight jasmine (I used to have this flower in my garden, when I was a kid, and really liked its smell, so my expectations were huge). Rio Radiance is way better, although I don't like coconut! The blending there is everything!

This one is for older ladies, definitely a mature scent. smells like a 90s hair product my great aunt used to wear. Not for younger people, it smell very mature and is not a comforting scent, unless you like the notes. Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad scent at all, but personally I associate it with products an older person would use.

Was really looking forward to this but I’m so disappointed. There’s no wow factor like some others in the range, this and Cheirosa 40 are my least favourites. It’s left a mild woody mixed with a smell that slightly resembles a cheap dupe of flowerbomb. It not a safe blind buy in my opinion.

i was super excited to smell this because of the notes in the fragrance but what i’m now realizing is that all sol de janeiro perfumes have this weird plasticy-chemical scent that overpowers any other scent. it smells like vanilla and lysol. that’s it :(

Smells so boring and watered down! It smells like car air freshener and watery blueberries. This is really disappointing as I like all the SDJ body mists except this one!

The only SDJ i really dislike. It has a strong metallic note i just cant get over with.

Anyone else smelling a perfumed version of Windex? Or is that just me? The ones comparing this to fragrances like flower bomb, black opium, Carolina Herrera, and into the night are crazy. It's no where near as beautiful, or as nice as those Fragrances. This is weak, synthetic, and very, very lack luster. The wear time on this is pretty awful. I don't get more than an hour on skin. Kinda funny this is a limited edition/discontinued fragrance. Because it's honestly straight garbage. Don't waste your money.

I was so excited for this one because the notes are usually what I lean towards in perfumes. However, I was so disappointed by this. Very synthetic and smelled IDENTICAL to a vanilla scented fridge spray cleaner. Longevity and silage wasn’t great, extremely short lived and became a skin scent after half an hour. I wanted to like this so I gave it a few weeks before returning it but I just couldn’t escape from the smell of a freshly cleaned fridge unfortunately.

Ahh SDJ you’ve done it again! This from first sniff is a beautiful gourmand berry creamy scent. It oddly smells almost exactly like this black berry scented body butter I use 😅, so potentially a great pairing??? I am in absolute love with the Cheirosa 71 as it works perfectly on my skin and I get compliments on it and I’ve already bought my back up bottle. This one stays in that gourmand realm but is almost similar to La Belle Parfum by JPG but this one is less tonka and more creamy sweet, albeit a bit more suited to a younger person. The freesia and other floral notes are well done in being there but not overpowering and synthetic smelling. I have only recently sprayed this on my skin so no comment on longevity. Do I enjoy it? Yes. Is it purchase worthy? Probably not.. probably? To be determined...

This is a DARK NAVY evening fragrance -not to be confused with a PINK or RED evening fragrance. Pink is too girly. Red is too seductive, too festive. This is a cozy, fuzzy cashmere sweater. A date at the lodge. A snow bunny on the hills. The type of scent that will trick you into feeling slightly warmer once those cold temps start to hit. I don't get the Flowerbomb or Black Opium comparisons at all, personally. After Hours feels juicier, more mysterious, and has less of a scream to it. Hoping this stays on the shelves. 🙏
