Carioca Crush

If you live near an HEB, you need to smell the pomegranate spray sun screen. This body mist is the closest thing I've ever smelled to that sunscreen. Of course it's pear and not pomegranate, but the JUICY fruit ness is light, playful, with just that little bit of wood and musk. I want to swim in this scent all summer long. SDJ please please please make this permanent and release a body wash too, because 🤩🤩🤩 I hope it becomes permanent, because it's sold out right now and I would have to stock upppppp if they don't just make it permanent. The fruit dries really fast but the musky woods linger for a while. I like layering this with Arquiste Peau, which is also a really light woody musk. together the base notes last all day and I can still pick them out in the morning. It does lean a little juvenile, but I was searching for that. I wanted a fruit burst of joyful playful fruit to layer over my very serious perfumes. I'm ok that the longevity isn't crazy because I'd prefer to re apply a spritz throughout the day when I need a little pick me up : )

So fresh, juicy and vibrant 😍 At first I didn't think it was anything special but once it dried down I couldn't stop sniffing my arm. The litchi and pear are definitely the heavy hitters here but then the floral and woody notes peak through more in the dry down and *that* is what sealed the deal for me. The pink violet, cedar and musk add more complexity to the fruits – giving it a more genuine perfume-y quality and makes it smell a bit more exotic and pretty. I can see why some are comparing this to God Is A Woman and Versace Dylan Purple but Carioca Crush is miles better than both imo. It basically smells like a perfumed version of a lollipop or fruit punch. Hopefully they bring this scent back and make it permanent in the future because it's quickly become my other favorite SDJ scent besides 40.

I know I said that I would be ok with Carioca crush not becoming a permanent scent, but I want to change my mind and say that I love every single body mist from this years summer collection, especially after having them sit for a while. I honestly can’t decide which I like more. Each one of them has served a different vibe for me this summer and I just went back and sniffed all of them again and now I have a memory attached to each one. There was always one from their limited editions that I wasn’t impressed with, but I found a use for each one from this years launch. I’ll be happy to see any of them come back as permanent and sad to see two of them leave us. I hope by some miracle they decide to keep all of them, but I think I’m pushing my luck 🥲 This was the most fun summer launch of 2024

I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I do, I bought it because it was on offer. I expected this to be less sweet than Beijos De Sol, but it’s much sweeter. Is it unique? Definitely not, but it’s very pleasant. If you like fruity scents and you’re put off by the floral description of this, give it a try because the fruit is the main star of this fragrance. It has a summer berry juice sort of fragrance, that’s the best way I can describe this. It’s kind of juvenile and if you didn’t know it was SDJ you’d probably guess that it’s a Bath and Body Works fragrance, that’s not to say it’s not nice, it’s just what you would expect from a fruity body spray. Not my favourite SDJ release but it’s pleasant all the same and I’m glad I got one.

Surprisingly, this is my favorite from the new 2024 summer collection. Carioca Crush will likely be the best-seller of the line. It's a juicy and fruity body mist that can be easily worn during daytime all year round. The fragrance opens with a beautiful, candied pear note. Following that, I mainly detect violet and a soft musk/white cedar accord. The lychee and praline notes are very subtle to my nose. As many others have noted, Carioca Crush is very similar to Ariana Grande's God is a Woman, though less floral. The pear note in Carioca Crush is sweeter, while in God is a Woman it's more prominent and raw. I finished my bottle so quickly !

Yes, it does smell like radiant nectar, Versace purple, etc. BUT in the dry down you know what it smells like? Moonlight path. And britney spears curious. Really delicious. Lasts a while. They need to bring this back. In the beginning it is sparkling and tart. Sooo juicy. It's sweet but it's refreshing. It lasts forever too. It's really the best one of this release and it's a shame they discontinued it. It literally makes my mouth water. And the dry down is calming. Like a relaxing bubble bath scent. So good. Sorry to say I don't get cloud DNA in this at all. But they would probably layer nicely.

Oooo! Very fruity pear and lychee with just a hint of violet and praline. It opens like Dylan purple, but doesn’t stay that way. Doesn’t remind me of GIAW, radiant nectar, or any of those. Just a happy, sexy, fruity scent with a slight gourmand edge. Another winner! I’ve smelled 2 of the 3 so far, and really like them both. We’re going 3 for 3! Hope Summer e Amor is just as good. Edit: I lied, now that I’ve worn it, it DEFINITELY smells like GIAW 😂 but not an EXACT dupe. I gotta say tho? LAYER THIS with EDEN JUICY APPLE! They go INCREDIBLE together ♥️

I didn't expect this to be my favourite out of the three but I think it is. It opens with a juicy pear note and in the dry down you can smell the violet and woody notes. I had to think so hard about what it reminds me of, but then I remembered that it's Dylan Purple. Then I came here and saw that other people also think so. I'm happy for that because I like Dylan Purple, I'm just not sure I would buy a full bottle of it. So this is a nice alternative. I can also imagine they would be good layered together.

My 2nd favorite from the summer mists. Very fruity and juicy, and actually has depth in the dry down. I was surprised by this one honestly. It’s kind of the little sister to 40, without the vanilla and with a lot more brightness. I just think that there are so many dupes to this one though. I wouldn’t be sad if I never saw this as a permanent release from the brand.. just get Dylan purple. its literally the exact same scent.

When i heard it had Litchi notes.... I had to buy. 😍And i din't regret it, definitely SDJ's best limited edition. So fun, light and summery i hope they bring it back to make it permanent like they did with bikini season. Honestly this smells like a better version of 68.It just has that kick which 68 lacks🫤 Anyways i will make sure to enjoy this scent slowly, praying it becomes permanent. ❤️

This is such a pretty fragrance and honestly one of my personal favs from sol de Janeiro. It smells like a sweet pear juice with rock sugar if that makes sense it’s definitely the epitome of summer time. The best part about it is that it’s not an immature fragrance because a lot of fruity perfume smell very childish but this one doesn’t. Bottle design is also a 10/10 adore the red

I ended up loving all 3 of the releases this year, although this one is my favorite! It's sweet, fruity, woody, bright, and airy. It lasts a couple of hours on the skin, you definitely have to reapply but it's one of those scents where you keep getting pleasant little whifs of it. I ended up grabbing a backup. SDJ can do no wrong in my eyes, all of their mists are great!😍

The scent is delicious, I love it, but I wish I hadn't bought it. It is so not worth it. You need to re-spray constantly or it will fade in minutes. Do yourself a favor and just buy Signorina Libera. It is almost identical, unsurprisingly, since it is also created by Jérôme Epinette, but with better longevity and also very affordable.

This is a dupe for Jacobs Perfect on the dry down but it also kinda smells like Eden Juicy Apple 🍎 I think there's definitely a hidden apple or rubbarb note You should get it 9/10 I hope this one comes back with a bodycream and bodywash

Most of sol de ja neiros fragrances work in all seasons- most houses fragrances only work in certain seasons and temps- this is another that works year round- smells delicious, especially when the wind catches it.

This one is my favorite of the three. It's juicy, sweet, basic and that's okay. Perfumes like this are so fun and enjoyable to wear. Edit: If you get a chance get the EOS Pink Champagne it smells just like this!

This is hands down my favorite SDJ fragrance, I hope they bring it back someday. For all the girlies who love this masterpiece too, I’ve found a pretty close dupe. Layer SDJ 59 with Dylan Purple.🍐💜

Wow! What a wonderfully bubbly delicious happy scent this is! The juicy Pear together with litchi are so candy-like and the praline is mouthwatering! And I am In love!

My favorite of all SDJ mists. Sweet pear and lychee. Similar but sweeter than Ariana Grande’s God is a Woman, less pear heavy than BBW Emerald Mist.

As soon as I take the cap off it’s like opening a fresh package of Haribo Goldbear gummy bears 😹 specifically picking out the red (raspberry) and clear (pineapple) gummy bears to eat first 🐻🍍🧃 in between licks of a red or pink ring pop on my finger 🍡😸 The litchi and pear is very big and loud upfront. Right away It’s a refreshingly youthful sweet fruit bomb without being cloying. After about 10 minutes the pink violet becomes very prominent and takes over. The white cedar on the dry down gives it a fresh woody bite that adds complexity and keeps it from feeling juvenile. It took a long while to notice any praline notes, it is very subtle and I only was able to pick them out very lightly after hours of wear but it does add a subtle caramel-ish sweetness to the middle of the scent. After a while the praline seems to suggest the idea of milk chocolate. The musk is also barely noticeable but adds just a hint of maturity to an otherwise very “cool girl” youthful fragrance. About 10 minutes into wearing, it started reminding me of Rocker Femme Fantasy by Britney Spears but without the creamy gourmand and coconut notes. I was a dancer for years and Rocker Femme Fantasy was my signature work perfume, a truly delicious scent that invoked downright obsession. I practically bathed in it and for good reason 😹 Rocker Femme Fantasy was never cloying during wear but started to make me feel sick when I opened my dancer bag months after retiring, where it stuck to the bag’s inner lining from holding the scent in all my nylon and Lycra outfits. It’s still one of my absolute favorite scents but I haven’t been able to get myself to reach for it in a good long while now. It feels like it belongs to a different person, a time capsule. Rocker Femme Fantasy also has a very prominent violet in the middle and that is definitely the tie connecting the two fragrances. Carioca Crush feels like Rocker Femme Fantasy’s cool little sister, much juicier up front with the light airy praline replacing the lactonic sugary whipped cream and heavy coconut notes of Rocker Femme Fantasy. They both have the same bite on the dry down, but Carioca Crush is very daytime and flirty, cool and fun. Rocker Femme is often described as a “darker” Fantasy flanker and Carioca Crush feels very daytime but with a dry down that develops well to wear to a trendy dinner spot. My Gen Z nieces would love this. It also reminds me a little of Playboy Play It Lovely, where patchouli fills the earthy bite role that the pink violet and white cedar have in Carioca Crush. Playboy Play It Lovely also has a bright pear top note like Carioca Crush, giving both a mild, almost aqueous cool juicy fruity sweetness. Both Playboy Play It Lovely and Rocker Femme Fantasy have strong blackberry top notes as well which probably helps round out the association I’m having with the three fragrances. I saw people saying Carioca Cruch smells like fancy soap and I believe that could be due to the pink violet. The pear and litchi absolutely burst up top for the first 10-15 minutes but I do think the pink violet and white cedar are the stars of the show for the rest of the wear, with praline like a timid mellow understudy in the wings. The musk starts to show after about 7 hours with one additional spray about 3 hours in. I couldn’t really pick it out before reapplication but now I can notice it like a small almost wooly(?) pillow floor to the rest of the fragrance. The musk is at best thin and airy but adds just a little comfort. Carioca Crush is not aquatic or resinous but the fruit/violet/cedar combination eventually almost barely hints in that direction. The projection is close to the body, about an arms length. Sillage is weak but longevity is decent. I sprayed twice and then once more about 3 hours later, for a total wear of 9 hours and going strong. It would have been absolutely lovely without the reapplication and I don’t think it really needs it unless you want some extra intensity and to experience the big juicy fruity top note explosion again. I do believe I’ll be able to smell this tomorrow morning on me if I don’t shower it off. EDIT: I wrote in my review for Beijos De Sol that it reminded me a little of VS Pear Glacé but Carioca Crush is MUCH MORE reminiscent of Pear Glacé. The pear in Carioca Crush is more juicy and realistic, whereas VS Pear Glacé has a noticeably heavy synthetic and almost sharp quality to it. Otherwise the pear bodies are very similar. Unsurprisingly, Pear Glacé also has a strong violet note as well! Pear Glacé is more synthetic/weighty violet, while the Pink Violet in Carioca Crush feels alive and photorealistic, younger, fresher, daintier and overall prettier.

Bright, sweet, juicy, happy, and fresh fruity floral. The sweet and syrupy pear note really stands out here along with the fresh litchi. The opening is fruity, bright, juicy, sweet, and even a little bit tart. I really don’t pick up on the praline note at all, and I just get a subtle scent of the pink violet. As it dries down I still get the sweet and fruity pear and litchi, but the musk and cedar become a lot more prominent. Overall, I think this is a nice and pretty fruity scent, especially for spring and summer. I don’t think this is similar to any of the other SDJ mists, not even 68 or 59. 68 would be the closest, but it is a lot more floral and not nearly as fruity. 59 is much more cozy and woody with its Violet, vanilla, and sandalwood and it’s not at all fruity. I think there is a slight similarity to Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar, but only during the dry down, so they’re still pretty different fragrances imo. I always get really good performance with SDJ mists, and Carioca Crush is no exception. The scent lasts throughout the entire day, and it projects out about an arm’s length from me. ✨If anyone is looking for a Carioca Crush I have one available that I’m willing to trade for a Summer é Amor! My favourite of the new collection, though it’s still just “nice.” It’s super sweet but I wish it was creamier. The violet comes out a bit too sharp on me. It has minimal sillage and lasts about 5 hours. In terms of perfumes listed as similar— ✔️ Ariana’s God Is a Woman: similar but deeper ✔️ Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar: a bit similar but has a much deeper, muskier sweetness ✔️Clean Reserve Sparkling Sugar: like Radiant Nectar but a bit more similar, but still deeper than Carioca Crush ✔️ Versace Dylan Purple: similar ✔️ Victoria’s Secret Tease Sugar Fleur: similar but not as sharp ✔️❌ Ariana’s Cloud Pink: similar on the initial spray but it becomes more floral after about 10 minutes ❌ Ariana’s Cloud: much more floral heavy while Carioca Crush is more fresh ❌ JHAG Pear Inc: much less sweet ❌ SDJ ‘68: much more floral heavy ❌ SDJ ‘59: a powdery vanilla

This smells significantly different from 59 (purple) and 68 (pink). Carioca Crush is a fresh musky ambrette fragrance with pear, and I’d say it’s close enough to be a dupe of Ariana grande “god is a woman” and/or clean reserve “radiant nectar.” You can try those at ulta or Sephora to decide if you want this fragrance. 59 is vanilla and powdery with the soft warmth of woody florals, which makes it very different from the fresh juiciness of Carioca crush. 68 is a spun sugar scent with that particular burnt plastic vibe that you get from Ariana grande cloud or baccarat rouge 540. Both are very different, and it would not be repetitive to add Carioca crush to your collection.

My first impression of this fragrance is strawberry maple syrup. It is very gourmand and when I wore it for the first time, my sister said I smell like strawberries. When I really think about it as I smell it, I can make out pretty much all of the notes listed on the bottle. Something about it is definitely very sticky sweet fruity. There is though a floral touch from the violet that cuts through it. I do really like this scent, and though it is a summer scent, I would not wear it in hot weather and in close proximity as on me, I find it has a good sillage for a mist. You would probably wanna be in an open space like at the beach or running around or sm.

Sweet and beautiful scent for summer. For some reason it smells really similar to Orange Crush by Fugazzi topped with a fizzy artificial strawberry on me but I guess that's kind of nose-biased. I mainly get the sweet sparkling fruitiness, not much of the praline and musk. Unfortunately the longevity isn't the best compared to other SDJ mists, I'll probably wear it with the 40' lotion. Can't wait to smell like Carioca Crush while sipping cocktails on warm summer nights!

I immediately get a blast of fruitiness on the first spray here, I can pick out the pear but not so much the lychee, it stays fruity for a few minutes before turning into a floral scent, I can't pinpoint the violet but it just smells like generic white florals to me. I'm glad it doesn't dry down to a musty cardboard smell like the Beijos De Sol one did on me, and I find this one lasts a bit longer on the skin too.

i'm easily bored by pear and violet, and praline is hit or miss for me, so i'm surprised by how much i like this. it's juicy and sugary, but not cloying. the way the praline sits almost reminds me of pink sugar, where it's got that slightly burnt nuance that adds a little more depth. i wouldn't call this "deep," though -- overall, it's a light, pleasant, candy-like fragrance

Not as fruity as I expected, it smells like maple syrup to me. Update: I sprayed it again I definitely still get that syrupy note but I also smell fruit, specifically strawberries or raspberries. It’s also almost kind of buttery? It smells like a warm buttery toast with strawberry or raspberry jam on top, happy with my purchase :)

I wass looking for a fun fruity smell for the summer. I Loooooove the smell of the pear alongside the sweet fresh smells. However, it doesn’t last long at all, and it’s not that strong. I was hoping it would be the same longevity of 62, but my hopes were crushed lol.

I think SDJ should add this to their permanent lineup. Out of the set this is definitely the one I reach for the most. This is just a sparkly, fruity, juicy scent that makes me so happy and carefree. Perfect scent to wear during a breezy summer day.

smells identical to born dreamer. it’s a sweet fruity pear, nothing ground breaking but i’m glad i picked it up. i like to layer it with donna born in roma. sillage and longevity of your typical body mist. 7/10 overall !

To me, this smells almost exactly like Cheirosa 68. The litchi note definitely dominates. Once it sits on the skin for a little bit it smells slightly different. It still smells really great though!!

Smells like fruit punch or fruit hard candies to me. Almost artificially sweet fruity fragrance. I can definitely smell both the pear and lychee.

I like this the best out of the 3 new scents. It's a unique peachy fragrance unlike anything I own

Not too much pear as in GIAW, not as fresh as Dylan purple, definitely get that gummy vibes, sweet, girly, had so much potential but smells like a cheap children’s shampoo, I’ve tried shower gels smelling better. Disappeared from my skin and clothes in 10 minutes. Don’t know why y’all so obsessed

Nondescript fruity aquatic fragrance. Dylan Purple meets God Is A Woman. Heavy on the pear and litchi. The other notes didn't really deliver. This reminds me of a scented shampoo. I think a stronger praline note could have elevated it a little. Overpriced for what it's giving.

Not my fav, this is last place out of the new releases. It’s fruity smells okay but nothing special. It reminds me of a body lotion I had when I was little in a purple tube and it had sprinkles. Don’t care too much for it. Will probably return.

I like what I smell but its simply that Baccarat/Cloud DNA a little sweeter,more sharp and juicy from the fruits.The powdery aspect of it is airy not dusty and heavy so its very nice.

Sweet watered down fruity juice, reminds me of a sweet juice for children, the type they sell in the supermarket. Slightly better in the dry down but still too aquatic, I wish it had more body and it was less artificial. It's nothing like 40, which is my favorite. I am struggling to finish this one. Impressive longevity though, after a few hours I washed my hands and I could still smell it on my wrists.

It's not bad at all but it's just sooooo freaking generic. Not just that but it's so light you can barely smell it. I've smelled this scent a thousand times. It smells like the Nicki Minaj perfume which smells like 100 other ones. To my nose, there's almost no lychee. It's just sweet fruity pear. Girly, inoffensive, and unremarkable. If you have Cheirosa 68 or literally any other airy fruity perfume, you don't need this. Edit: The more I smell this.. the more I realized that it smells nearly identical to the Tree Hut Cotton Candy scrub and the more I like it... for the price point I'm not sure I'd buy it but I like it more than I initially did now.

This starts off with crisp and fresh Lychee. There’s some pear in here but more lychee. The fruit aspect is more clean and fresh than juicy, tropical drink fruity. Unfortunately, I do not like how this starts to dry down. The violet and maybe the praline clash in here and turns this a little bitter and somewhat medicinal. Thankfully deep in the dry down- maybe 30 mins or so the bitterness is overshadowed by a woody musk. It ends up as a clean, musky woody pear scent. My least favorite out of the new LEs

This is my all time favorite SDJ scent. I really hope they make this one a permanent part of the collection. I definitely get the God Is A Woman and Dylan Purple comparisons. It layers so nice with both. This is a very clean, fruity, shampoo, out of the shower summer scent. It’s youthful and refreshing and gets me a lot of compliments. It’s not mature or immature in my opinion, just fun and summery. Their best scent yet.

this smells like red coloured rock candy (ring pops/push pops) even more specifically, there was a Barbie push pop style candy lipstick in the 90s that smelled EXACTLY like this. this has a very nostalgic “walking to the corner store in the summer to buy candy” scent for me. edit: i should’ve bought 15 cause i used my bottle already. im in my depression era that i probably won’t get to own this ever again.

Definitely my favourite limited SDJ spray! Even after almost a year after release date I’m still in love with it. I tried to find similar smells like this one and the closest to me was Dylan Purple by Versace until I blind bought the body lotion by EOS Pink Champagne 😍 when I tell you they smell identical I’m not lying, just try it if you run out of your Carioca Crush, trust me and thank me later 🙂↕️
