Cheirosa '39

Beachy, sweet, creamy, warm, sunny, fresh, powdery, woody, yummy, feminine, flirty, sensual, tempting, dreamy, delectable, decadent, comforting, gourmand, unique, versatile First of all, I just want to say how absolutely thrilled I am that they’re finally bringing this gem back! It’s my favorite of their whole line along with Summer é Amor! I’ve been hanging onto my 2 bottles (1 is 39, the other is the OG Coco Cabana), and using them super sparingly because this is such an incredible and unique scent, and the thought of running out was heartbreaking. This is one that is an absolute must have in my collection, and it’s definitely full bottle worthy imo. This isn’t your typical beachy/coconut scent, and that really impresses me. I absolutely adore the beachy/coconut/sunscreen scents that have been popular over the recent years, but as much as I love those it’s still nice to get a different and unique take on the category. I don’t get any of the sun tan lotion scent (which I also really love) with this. This is a much more gourmand coconut scent, but it does still retain some of a beachy vibe. The coconut is very creamy, sweet, and desert like, especially paired with the toasted caramel scent of the praline, and the sensual vanilla. It has this perfect balance between rich and decadent, but still beachy and fresh. It has the perfect amount of sweetness without being over the top. As it gets further into the dry down that sweetness is nicely balanced by the sensual and powdery vanilla orchid, and the woody sandalwood. I’ve heard some people say that they get a buttered popcorn scent with this, and I can see why they feel that way. Personally, I never got that until I heard that, and actually tried to pick up on it. If I concentrate I can get a very subtle buttered popcorn scent, especially closer to the opening. I believe it’s coming from the toasted praline, but to me it’s not something that’s very noticeable, and becomes even less noticeable the more it dries down. I think this is fitting for women of all ages. It feels best suited for the warmer weather of later spring and summer, but I can definitely see it working year round too since it’s sweet, creamy, warm, and super yummy smelling. I think this works well for casual and fun occasions, but can also work nicely for work and/or school. It’s an incredible scent that’s non offensive, and has been very crowd pleasing in my experience. The only fragrance that I own that even somewhat reminds me of 39 is VS Coconut Passion. It’s similar because it’s also a creamy and somewhat gourmand coconut scent, but it’s also still quite different too (I do really enjoy both, but I do prefer 39). I’m a big fan of SDJ mists, and I own all of the permanent ones as well as several of the limited editions, and both the 39 and OG Coco Cabana. I feel like it’s pretty hard to go wrong with SDJ scents. My top 5 are 39/Coco Cabana, Summer é Amor, Flor Mística, 62, 40. My least favorites are 48 (I get almost all guava), Dança Mística (I’ve never been a fan of fig), and Agua Mística (it’s ok, but it’s not something that I reach for often). For some reference, some of my other favorite beachy/coconut scents include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, Bobbi Brown Beach, Kayali Maui in a Bottle, Kayali Maldives in a Bottle. I get really good performance with 39. The longevity is very nice, it lasts at least 6-7 hours on me. The projection is decent, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me. Now that this is available for its retail price again, I consider it to be a great value since it smells so incredible, and performs great, especially for a body mist. I do still have some of the body cream, and when I use them together it really helps to improve the performance even more.

Sweet, coconut, vanilla, creamy, lactonic, nutty, powdery, tropical, luminous, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, delicious, divine, alluring, tempting, addictive, irresistible, inviting, cozy, comforting This is such a delightfully yummy tropical coconut cream with powdery and delicate vanilla orchid, sweet and creamy caramel/praline, on a sandalwood base. It smells like delicious carnival treats, or a boardwalk with the coconut cream. This is just such an incredible scent, and has been a favorite of mine for years! This is the perfect coconut, vanilla, and caramel scent for the gourmand girlies. It’s perfect for the warmer weather of spring and summer thanks to the coconut, but also warm and cozy enough for the colder weather of fall and winter as well. I think it’s most fitting for casual occasions, woke/school, and summer date nights as well. I do see similarities between 39 and Coco Cabana (which I also own, and they’re pretty much the same to my nose), Summer Fridays Sunlit Vanilla, and 71. 71 is like a deeper more decadent version of 39 with a more prominent caramel note and the addition of toasted macadamia. It even has the buttered popcorn note, and kind of reads like buttered caramel corn. I also have a different comparison. I very recently bought some hand soap from B&BW, and fell completely in love with the scent of it. It’s called Toasted Marshmallow Pop, and has notes of toasted marshmallows, cotton candy, and popcorn. So, yesterday was the first time I’ve worn 39 since getting the hand soap, and to my surprise they’re almost identical! The main difference is that Toasted Marshmallow Pop is a bit more popcorn centered. Overall, they both smell like the most delightful and yummy carnival treats! I’m a huge fan of SDJ, and I own almost all of their fragrances! My top 5 faves are Summer é Amor, 62, 39, 71, and 91. My least favorites are Dança Mística, Aqua Mística, and 68. The performance is really good for a mist. The projection is moderate to strong as it lasts at least 6 hours on my skin. Beachy, sweet, coconut, vanilla, caramel, creamy, lactonic, powdery, warm, radiant, sunny, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, divine, delightful, delicious, luscious, alluring, tempting, yummy, decadent, addictive, inviting, cozy, comforting, transportive, nostalgic On me this opens with tropical, sweet, and creamy coconut crème and powdery and delicate vanilla orchid. The dry down really shines as it grows deeper with sweet, buttery, and decadent caramel/toasted praline and creamy sandalwood. It does have a fluffy marshmallow-y vibe to it as well as. Overall, it’s a delicious beachy, gourmand, coconut, vanilla, and caramel scent! A lot of people talk about buttered popcorn with this one, and I do get a slight buttered popcorn kind of scent. However, it’s not predominantly what this smells like to me. I get a lot more coconut crème, vanilla, and buttery caramel, so maybe all of those topping a handful of buttered popcorn. It’s such a delightfully delicious beachy gourmand with savory nuances! This does remind me slightly of Phlur Heavy Cream, VS Coconut Passion, and Kayali Maui in a Bottle (all of which are favorites of mine!), but only somewhat as this is rather unique. I absolutely love this one! I have most of the SDJ fragrances, and this is one of my top favorites! My top 5 are Summer è Amor, 62, 39/Coco Cabana, 40, and a tie between 59 and 71. My least favorites are 68, Dança Mística, and Aqua Mística. I was so excited that they brought back 39, and I own that one as well. I honestly don’t notice much of a difference between the 2. To me this feels feminine, and even though it has a somewhat youthful vibe to it, I think it can be worn by women of any age (I’m 38 and still wear it regularly!). This feels most fitting during the spring and summer because of the beachy/coconut vibe, but I think it works during the fall too because of its coziness. This feels most suitable for casual occasions, beach vacations, and works well/school. I do get good performance with 39, especially considering that it’s a mist. The longevity is about 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection is moderate, it radiates out at least an arm length. I've had every single Sol de Janeiro mist except the '39. Weirdly enough, coconut is one of my favorite notes ever. The reviews about this mist led me to think this mist would smell very buttery, popcorn-like and nauseatingly sweet, so I never cared to try it out. Then came the news about Sol de Janeiro discontinuing this mist, and so I had to get my hands on it. The moment I spray it on, I get coconut sweetness and orchid, it smells kind of odd, overly sweet indeed. But then comes the dry down. The off-putting mixture of sugar and orchid seems to fade away, leaving a very pretty creamy coconut praline scent. It reminds me of when I was a kid at the beach in my home country eating that coconut ice cream that comes in a coconut shell itself. It's sweet yes, but it's so pretty. Of all the coconut scents I've tried before, this one is definitely my favorite. I definitely don't get the popcorn scent that a lot of people seem to smell though. I've smelled the Coco Cabana cream before, and if anything I feel like that one has more of a popcorn smell than the spray. This scent can be tropical but also very gourmand, depending what lotions or other perfumes you layer it with. I've gotten the most compliments on my scent with this mist, at least twice a day someone comments on how good I smell. Out of the other cheirosa mists, this one also seems to have the most longevity, as it stays on for an entire day on me, especially when I spray it in my hair. If you love a creamy youthful coconut, I definitely recommend this to you, although it might be a little hard to find now that it's being discontinued. I'm definitely getting another bottle before it disappears!

My favorite of the line along with Cheirosa 62 and Rio Radiance! I’m a huge fan of beachy/coconut fragrances and I find this one rather unique! It’s a really delicious, sweet, gourmand coconut cream with luscious vanilla, yummy praline, a touch of floral orchid, and smooth, creamy sandalwood to ground it! You don’t see too many gourmand coconut fragrances, but they nailed it with this one! It’s not too sweet, but sweet enough to make it delectable and unique! The notes all blend together really beautifully creating a gorgeous scent that I want to reach for all summer long and sometimes during the other seasons too! For reference, I do love all of the other Sol de Janeiro fragrances that I have tried... Rio Radiance, 62, 40, and 68! Some of my other beachy/coconut favorites include... Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Replica Beach Walk, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes! I’m heartbroken that they discontinued this incredible fragrance! I definitely would have bought more had I known! If anyone has some that they’d be willing to part with, please get ahold of me because I would love to get it!

Mmmmm, this smells just like a warm toasted coconut dessert straight from the oven! I got this little body spray for about £10 on eBay, and I am delighted with my blind buy. Usually for Summer, I want tropical fruits and citrus, but every now and then I demand something more delicious and gourmand. This little beauty fits the bill perfectly. Opening spray for me is buttery coconut macaroons, dripping in a chocolate praline sauce. The orchid is subtle, but adds lightness to the creamy vanilla and praline notes. I thought this would be really heavy for hot weather, but it's fluffy and delicious. A real wrist-sniffer. I wish I had got to smell the old formulation with coffee and caramel, I bet that would have been right up my street, but do you know what? I'm not disappointed with this one. I have nothing else like this in my collection, and I love coconut in perfumes. Coco Cabana 2019 is light and effortlessly delicious. I really enjoy this!

This is a Gourmand beach scent. With the first spray in the air, it smells like sweet praline coconut. On skin it settles down as a coconut vanilla with a bit of sandalwood, and the scent reminds me of plastic. (Probably coconut vanilla combo gives me this impression, because I got the same plastic vibe from Dolce Garden), in Cheirosa 39 I like it more. Also, I kind of can detect that popcorn note some people talk about, but I like Popcorn smell so it doesn't bother me! (Actually, I even anticipated it to be more popcorny haha) I can smell a bit of very faint orchid throughout mists lifespan. In the air it gives coconut vanilla cake, like a Raffaello candy - creamy and sweet! Very excited to spray myself all over with it at the beach! :D I would definitely buy body cream if it were available. Overall, very nice, I give it 10/10 for what it is (-‿◦☀)

I don't really get all the hate for this fragrance. I feel like many people got it for the hype but didn’t really check what kind of scent it was first. It may not be a revolutionary scent, but I think it is exactly what it says it is: a sweet, summery coconut scent. On me, this is a warm, creamy coconut with toasted nuts. It's sweet, but in a light way, not a heavy, cloying way. And the coconut is that warm, beachy kind of coconut rather than the artificial, prickly kind that I find most coconut scents have. That's a big plus. It also lasts well for a body mist, and the sillage is also good for a mist. It's definitely worth its price for me. If you're looking for a sweet coconut scent to wear to the beach, this is a great choice! But if you're not a fan of sweet scents, coconut, or nutty scents, it may not be for you.

To preface this, I’m a Cheirosa 71 lover and I never had the original SDJ Coco Cabana so I can’t compare that to this. To me, this doesn’t smell like Cheirosa 71 as others have said but I do think that if you enjoy 71 you will like this. This is a weird comparison but it smells EXACTLY like the coconut scent disc from Build a Bear. It’s Coconutty and has some saltiness and vanilla that can read as buttered popcorn to some noses, but it’s not salted caramely or cookie-ish like 71. I think 71 can be a little much for very hot weather but 39 would be a good summertime scent for anyone who wears 71 in the fall and winter. I definitely pick up on some aquatic notes and after sitting on my skin for a few minutes it becomes much more floral. Overall I do really enjoy it and will be using it a lot during the summer months!

I tried this today at boots after trying 48 and 40. This one 39 smelt so delightful I wanted to buy it straight away but they ran out. Luckily for me I managed to find it in stock at space NK so got a bottle, it is a limited edition and they only had 90ml in stock otherwise I would have bought the bigger bottle. A lovely, cosy gourmand, with coconut and praline. So addictive and reminded me of something else. I looked on here to find that it does smell a bit like Theodoros Kalotinis Creme Brulee, which I love but only have a sample of. Happy with my purchase, something fun and uplifting to use during the summer! The only thing is it is not long lasting, but does have a faint scent trail, defo more of a skin scent to freshen up and reapply, keep in your hand bag.

It’s such a delicious scrumptious smell!! But as a girl who lives in extremely hot weather this is too sweet for summer, like extremely sweet which I love, just not for where I live. And because of the prominent coconut scent I wouldn’t personally wear it for winter since it’s just such a summer ingredient in my head. But if you actually have seasons and not just extreme hot and extreme cold buy it! Update: I bought the big bottle idgaf everyone in Texas can choke on my 39 it’s that good. It’s definitely super sweet but after a little while it smells like those coconut Samoas Girl Scout cookies and it’s not too overpowering in the heat. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself idk

This is really nice! I just got this today, so can't comment too much on the longevity. The projection is really good for a body mist though! I get that same white chocolateyness as I do in Cheirosa 71, presumably from the praline note. It's not as coconutty as I'd expected, it's very much like a Raffaello chocolate smell with the white chocolate dominating to me. I do really like this! I definitely bought into the hype around it being discontinued and then returning a little lol, it was a total blind buy for me. However, I'm not disappointed at all and I'm glad to have it, I'm excited to try layering it with some of my other fragrances.

The beef that I have with all long lasting coconut EDPs is that they always overwhelm you with yellow flowers, while all I want is a simple non-offensive sweet coconut. This is pretty much what Cheirosa 39 is. To me it's a perfect balance of sweet, fresh, and yummy. Always in my bag on the trips to the beach. Lasts 30 min max, but I wouldn't expect more from a mist. Compared to Cheirosa 62 it's much subtle and "natural" smelling, and is a definite winner for me. If you came across a long lasting EDP with a similar profile scent without yellow floral explosion, please let me know.

The most gorgeous coconut body mist to walk this earth. Luckily I had managed to get my hands on a 90ml through second hand; but omg it’s so so worth the money i spent. I used two sprays alone, and it’s lasted all day. The most delicious coconut opens it up immediately, then you get a white chocolatey dry down on my clothes atleast. In the first couple seconds of spraying it, it changes into this amazing praline smell - to me, it smells like buttery, but with praline. It’s lasted longer than some of my perfumes do! If you can gets a bottle for cheap, BUY IT IMMEDIATELY!

Today the nicest thing happened to me. I have always been a coconut girly, and have always wanted to smell like a sweet coconut candy (think raffaello) or milkshake. Today I was walking down the stairs in my school to the cafeteria, I have just sprayed this on myself (not even a lot, maybe like two sprays). Some random girls were walking past me and I heard them say "Gosh, what is this coconut smell, it smells so good in here. Maybe there is a coconut bun in the cafeteria?", and honestly, I felt like my life's purpose has been achieved :)

whyyy out of all the sol de janeiro scents did they discontinue this one? creamy coconut milk with a hint of nuttiness from the praline and powder from the sandalwood, it's fantastic. literally who is buying cheirosa 40 and 71 over this to warrant a discontinuation, only to come back limited edition? it's not a beachy coconut which i don't see as a bad thing, most coconut scents out there tend to lean towards more beachy sunscreen type of fragrance. so this is a nice surprise for me. easily a top 3 SDJ fragrance for me, possibly top 2.

Kind of crazy how yall call this a summer scent as if it couldnt easily just be a winter one....but i wear Immortal Vanilla in summer so i cant say sh. I love this one so much, i mean the proof is in the pudding: Vanilla orchid,Coconut & sandalwood? Hell yea. Now this is strong for a body mist and it can really be headache inducing if you dont like “all up in ur face” gourmands. By all means i hope SDJ brings it back again this summer along the body cream coz I NEED THAT!

Nice lactonic coconut, but somewhat synthetic scent. Wish it was more sweet and creamy. Not too big on the toasted praline note, or the woody sandalwood that comes through later after spraying,, although it does blend well together with the rest of the notes & acts as a good base note itself. If you want a perfume similar to this try creme of clouds !! or if you already have that one then I'd say you don't need this one, unless you want a mist for layering

omgggggg this is my first (and hopefully last 😭😭😭🤦) blind buy but GOD this is amazing!!! this is such a versatile coconut that is good both in the summer and winter. imagine a praline candy with rich coconut cream sprinkled with juicy coconut. literally the best coconut bodymist out there. love !! 🩵 i can’t believe that this blind buy was so lucky, but i promise to not play with my luck anymore because the next one is set to be horrible 😅😅😅

This is my favourite SDJ in comparison to ‘62 and ‘40, obviously this is pure sweet coconuts but the praline note gives it a coco butter hint. What surprised me the most about this spray is the longevity! This lasts 6+ on me in combination with the matching body cream which is fantastic given it’s not a perfume. I can understand why people may not like this as it’s strong but still a great cheapie for me nonetheless, 5/5.
