Beachy, sweet, creamy, warm, Decadent, luscious, sunny, fresh, powdery, woody, yummy, feminine, flirty, sensual, tempting, dreamy, delectable, decadent, rich, comforting, gourmand, intriguing, unique, versatile First of all, I just want to say how absolutely thrilled I am that they’re finally bringing this gem back! It’s my favorite of their whole line along with Summer é Amor! I’ve been hanging onto my 2 bottles (1 is 39, the other is the OG Coco Cabana), and using them super sparingly because this is such an incredible and unique scent, and the thought of running out was heartbreaking. This is one that is an absolute must have in my collection, and it’s definitely full bottle worthy imo. This isn’t your typical beachy/coconut scent, and that really impresses me. I absolutely adore the beachy/coconut/sunscreen scents that have been popular over the recent years, but as much as I love those it’s still nice to get a different and unique take on the category. I don’t get any of the sun tan lotion scent (which I also really love) with this. This is a much more gourmand coconut scent, but it does still retain some of a beachy vibe, which I really love. The coconut is very creamy, sweet, and desert like, especially paired with the rich and buttery caramel scent, the sugary and powdery marshmallow, the sensual vanilla, the yummy and decadent praline, and the sweet, golden richness of honey. I only get a bare whiff of the coffee note, but I think that it helps It have this perfect balance between rich and decadent, but still having a beachy and sweet scent scent. It has the perfect amount of sweetness without being over the top. As it gets further into the dry down that sweetness is nicely balanced by the coffee note, which I only get occasional soft whiffs of. I do notice this somewhat savory buttered popcorn scent too, which I actually do enjoy. Since I do also own the 39 version, I’ve noticed that I only really get that scent more noticeably in this OG Coco Cabana formula. In the 39 version I only get a very subtle buttered popcorn scent, but I only really notice it softly during the opening, it seems to dissipate as it dries down. I think this is fitting for women of all ages. It feels best suited for the warmer weather of later spring and summer, but I can definitely see it working year round too since it’s sweet, creamy, warm, and super yummy smelling. I think this works well for casual and fun occasions, but can also work nicely for work and/or school. It’s an incredible scent that’s non offensive, and has been very crowd pleasing in my experience. The only fragrance that I own that even somewhat reminds me of Coco Cabana is VS Coconut Passion. It’s similar because it’s also a creamy and somewhat gourmand coconut scent, but it’s also still quite different too (I do really enjoy both, but I do prefer Coco Cabana/39). I’m a big fan of SDJ mists, and I own all of the permanent ones as well as several of the limited editions, and both the OG Coco Cabana and the 39 version. I feel like it’s pretty hard to go wrong with SDJ scents. My top 5 are 39/Coco Cabana, Summer é Amor, Flor Mística, 62, 40. My least favorites are 48 (I get almost all guava), Dança Mística (I’ve never been a fan of fig), and Agua Mística (it’s ok, but it’s not something that I reach for often). For some reference, some of my other favorite beachy/coconut scents include Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, Replica Beach Walk, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, Bobbi Brown Beach, Kayali Maui in a Bottle, Kayali Maldives in a Bottle. I get really good performance with Coco Cabana. The longevity is very nice, it lasts at least 6-7 hours on me. The projection is decent, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me. Now that this is available for its retail price again, I consider it to be a great value since it smells so incredible, and performs great, especially for a body mist. I do still have some of the body cream, and when I use them together it really helps to improve the performance even more. Just a side note... I do personally prefer the 39 version over the OG Coco Cabana. Don’t get me wrong though, I definitely really love both of them, it’s just that the 39 appeals to me a little more. I think it’s because I get a bit more coconut, and a little less of the buttered popcorn scent.

Beachy, sweet, coconut, vanilla, caramel, creamy, lactonic, powdery, warm, radiant, sunny, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, divine, delightful, delicious, luscious, alluring, tempting, yummy, decadent, addictive, inviting, cozy, comforting, transportive, nostalgic On me this opens with tropical, sweet, and creamy coconut crème and powdery and delicate vanilla orchid. The dry down really shines as it grows deeper with sweet, buttery, and decadent caramel/toasted praline and creamy sandalwood. It does have a fluffy marshmallow-y vibe to it as well as somewhat of a decadent golden honey drizzle too. Overall, it’s a delicious beachy, gourmand, coconut, vanilla, and caramel scent! A lot of people talk about buttered popcorn with this one, and I do get a slight buttered popcorn kind of scent. However, it’s not predominantly what this smells like to me. I get a lot more coconut crème, vanilla, and buttery caramel, so maybe all of those topping a handful of buttered popcorn. It’s such a delightfully delicious beachy gourmand with savory nuances! This does remind me slightly of Phlur Heavy Cream, VS Coconut Passion, and Kayali Maui in a Bottle (all of which are favorites of mine!), but only somewhat as this is rather unique. I absolutely love this one! I have most of the SDJ fragrances, and this is one of my top favorites! My top 5 are Summer è Amor, 62, 39/Coco Cabana, 40, and a tie between 59 and 71. My least favorites are 68, Dança Mística, and Aqua Mística. I was so excited that they brought back 39, and I own that one as well. I honestly don’t notice much of a difference between the 2. To me this feels feminine, and even though it has a somewhat youthful vibe to it, I think it can be worn by women of any age (I’m 38 and still wear it regularly!). This feels most fitting during the spring and summer because of the beachy/coconut vibe, but I think it works during the fall too because of its coziness. This feels most suitable for casual occasions, beach vacations, and works well/school. I do get good performance with this, especially considering that it’s a mist. The longevity is about 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection is moderate, it radiates out at least an arm length. My favorite of the line along with Rio Radiance! I’m a huge fan of beachy/coconut fragrances and I find this one rather unique! It’s a really delicious, sweet, gourmand coconut cream with luscious vanilla, yummy praline, a touch of floral orchid, and smooth, creamy sandalwood to ground it! You don’t see too many gourmand coconut fragrances, but they nailed it with this one! It’s not too sweet, but sweet enough to make it delectable and unique! The notes all blend together really beautifully creating a gorgeous scent that I want to reach for all summer long and sometimes during the other seasons too! For reference, I do love all of the other Sol de Janeiro fragrances that I have tried... Rio Radiance, 62, 40, and 68! Some of my other beachy/coconut favorites include... Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Replica Beach Walk, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, and JHAG Vanilla Vibes! I’m heartbroken that they discontinued this incredible fragrance! I definitely would have bought more had I known! If anyone has some that they’d be willing to part with, please get ahold of me because I would love to get it!

I absolutely love this but I get why it makes some people sick haha.. It ́s a very sweet coconut marshmallow scent but also buttered pocorns. Maybe it ́s the praline note that is coming of buttery to me? I do ́t know, but I like it. I have all SOL DE JANEIRO scents and the difference is: Cheriosa 71: Sweetest of them all, an autumn/winter scent. White chocolate cookie. Brazilian crush: Suits most people. Lighter than Cheriosa 71 and Coco Cabana. Smells exactly like the bum bum cream, straight up caramel pistachio. Summer/spring scent. Coco cabana: Sweeter than Brazilian crush. Coconutty marshmallows with a hint of buttered popcorn. Also a summer/spring scent.

I love it 🥰 ,, I know some reviewers state that it smells similar to buttered popcorn. I can see why they think that with the initial opening spray, however this blossoms after about a minute into a delicious coconut beachy fragrance. In my personal opinion, the initial first spritz’s are deceiving as this envelops so beautifully on my skin. I find myself reaching for this often lately. I just can’t seem to get enough of it ! I even purchased the shower cream to go with it. It smells so delicious. I’m loving everything Sol de Janeiro 💕

I had to buy this because I tried the body cream first and fell in love. It smells like straight popcorn jelly beans. After buying the spray I have to say this is a little less of the popcorn scent, although it is still very noticeable, and a little more coconut. It smells delicious. The sillage and lasting power are to be expected with a body spray, but decent considering. I prefer this to the Brazillian crush but they're very similar.

Be careful, there's imposters on Ebay that are using the actual name, I just handed one seller their butt for doing that. I saw the bottle wasn't right & read the reviews. BUT, they also have SDJ's original picture up too. That should be illegal. So glad I caught that. This was BY FAR the BEST SDJ ever put out, 71 is close, the original stinks to me. These companies discontinue the BEST, makes me so mad.

THE BEST one SDJ EVER put out. Probably my favorite body spray ever. Period. I haven't seen it out yet, but let's hope they didn't screw up the reformulation! Don't buy it without testing it to make sure! I've made that mistake too many times. The first round was AMAzING & lasted AGES! I LOVE this fragrance. Some say it smells like buttered popcorn but I find on me it's more like a buttery caramel mixed with coconut. Every time I wear it someone asks me what I am wearing. My only complaint is that it doesn't last that long, but I don't mind reapplying since it is not too expensive. I put it on over the matching lotion which I find helps with longevity.

Ooohh I have been craving this scent ever since I read about it. I cannot find any seller in Europa (and beyond, for that matter ^^), who has this old version in stock. Does anybody know any seller in Europe (the Netherlands) where this old version is available? Or anybody who has one who wants to sell? This just sounds like heaven in a bottle to me ♥

Very sweet and caramel vanille like 71, in fact it smells the same to me just with way more coconut. No white flower or floral or sunscreen feel at all. Has a popcorn vibe, and is a pretty good dupe for the opening of The House of Oud’s What About Pop. (The new sol de janeiro that is this colour is not the same smell sadly).

so glad i got my hands on this spray!! such a shame they discontinued this fragrance as its so beautiful. Smells like a creamy, warm, caramel coconut treat such a delicious scent i will use this sparingly, it is definitely worth buying if you can find one but its definitely a summer scent!

I have the Kmart Oxx dupe (coconut waves) which is like a lighter version but by far the best dupe/most similar scent out there. And the Oxx Coconut Waves body butter is the DIE for. It almost has me wanting to give up on my perfumes and just wear fragrance lotions!

First spray, slightly turned off by the praline in the base maybe... but then, the fragrance really grew on me. It is addictive, sweet coconut heaven. Creamy, comforting, summery and happy :) Love all scents from Sol de Janeiro. They are tropical, sunny and yummy :)

From what I heard, a lot of people don't like this one as much as the others, but I absolutely adore it! It's a close competitor to the brazilian bum bum one, both the cream and the body mist. Very sweet and the most coconut-y thing I have in my collection.

Honestly i didnt expect much when I bought it because of the not so great reviews on youtube but omg i actually adore the scent. It's coconutty perfection. It isnt as long lasting as I'd hoped but it was realy good scentwise. I bought a back up bottle!

Love this. Sometimes it smells abit too much like buttered popcorn, but usually it smells like warm coconut cookies. Lasts forever and it truly edible. Better smelling on thw skin rather than clothes.

I have the entire line for this. When I first smelt it I absolutely hated but I warmed up to it. Its coconut perfection and its so creamy. It also has a bit of honey in it and I LOVE IT!!

My Husband says I smell like vanilla ice cream. I smell that and a a coconut macaroon cookie. 🤤 Delicious! Doesn’t last very long but I don’t mind re-spraying.

As coconut as coconut gets. Such an amazing scent! I love this in the summer months but honestly I want to wear it year round.

Sweet, creamy, coconut. Like coconut ice cream. I literally wish I could eat this.

White ferrero rocher (raffaelo). That is everything ive ever wanted out of a coconut fragrance, and this is it. well, almost. So many coconut scents are available, with tropical notes such as mango or pineapple and in my opinion they are so tired and overdone (not to mention completely unappealing to me, as i only gravitate to bakery scents- no hate). A great way to make coconut shine is paired with notes of cream, praline and nuts. This fragrance is definitely it that direction. It is sweet, creamy and feels like a slice of coconut cake (with shavings atop and all). the only odd thing with this fragrance (and im assuming its the tropical orchid note mentioned on the bottle) is that within the first 3-5 minute window you can sometimes catch a whiff of something green/lightly floral. In my opinion, to make this fragrance perfect, i whish it weren't there at all, but it comes and goes somewhat fast. This is a gourmand, barely beachy scent, which i assume is why many people have a hard time with it. The artificial coconut can at times come off a tad strange, but remains overall pretty nice and pastry adjacent. I do however, feel like its a bit play dough-ey at times, and to me, thats what makes it nice, but not amazing (and not what it could be). I whish more perfume brands fully committed to the gourmand vision, and didnt throw in florals or perfumey elements so willy nilly. will update after trying on a longer period. (and/ if i do ever find the perfect raffaelo scent)

I'm going all year, day night on this, I believe I have the new version wo the popcorn note fortunately. I used it up quickly, I oversprayed a lot because of the extreme comfort it gave me especially after hard workouts. Imagine jogging in the snow, dark misty weather, miles every day throughout winter. Thank God for this body mist!! My brother said it smells of fun, and yes it reminds me of summer days at the beach as a kid. I don't want to ruin your experience so take this in the best possible way when I say it smells like the inflatable toys you have on the beach. The yellow one also has this plastic feel in it. Which I looove! It's less sweet than Brazilian Crush, a bit dryer like flatter but not in a bad way, more like a wave before it takes off. With a sort of woodsyness as if you're in a sweet smelling sauna. And it's as if the stones in there are scented. The caramel is a tiny bit salty? I'll repurchase. That's a big yes from me when I'm not really into body mists or the more afordable choices out there, nor do I particularly fancy celebrity fragrances. But this really gives you bang for the buck, same with the yellow BC. All the best from someone who had stiches on my knee yesterday, and limping around today. Hopefully I'll recover long before the snow falls.

This fragrance is VERY warm. A lactonic, toasted coconut caramel, and without sounding repetitive, a popcorn note although not listed. This is one of those fragrances that if you were somewhere warm for too long, the sickliness really gets to you. As much as the coconut lends a beachy vibe, I feel like this also leans to warm summer nights or even autumn. I feel like a big caramel Granola bar wearing this and I'm not mad about it. I get less of the cloying tones when it's spritzed on clothing as opposed to direct skin. Decently lasting especially on clothing and a large sillage for maybe 30 mins, which becomes closer as the day goes.

Saw comments saying this smells like buttered popcorn and I agree!! It smells like popcorn mixed with coconut, I honestly love this smell. I don’t think I would have noticed it smelled like popcorn if I didn’t read the comments; at first it just smelled like coconut, caramel and praline but I can totally pick up the popcorn scent. I think this body spray is a great summer scent, it lasts long when you spray it on clothing.

When I wear it people think it smells like sweet buttery popcorn. I have heard people comment around me "who made popcorn" LOL. I like this scent but like the reformulated version better.

A nice thick coconut mist. In the initial spray I smell cheirosa 71 mixed with coconut but when it dries down you are left with a pretty basic coconut smell. Nice daytime or beach scent for summer. Nothing more, nothing less. Lastingpower is good for a mist. On clothes the lastingpower is pretty awesome.

Yumm!! This smells really good!! The coconut is creamy and nutty, it smells kind of like buttered popcorn. So delicious! This is only a body mist so it doesn’t last that long, but if you pair it with the matching body cream it has great longevity. Perfect for anytime of year but it shines in summer!

Don’t know how the original formulation smelled like but this new one is a winner... for me at least. Sol de Janeiro needs to hurry up and make this into a perfume just as they did with the Bum Bum scent. Love the coconut, vanilla, Praline popcorn mix.

SUPER sweet coconut fragrance. Could be too much on its own for some people. A true gourmand juice and the lasting power can be very great when paired with the cream. I usually use it for layering, when I want to add sweetness to any of my perfumes.

Do you like the smell of buttery popcorn? Do you? DO YOU?! If the answer is not a resounding YES, you might not be able to stand (the original version of) this scent. It is the scent of popcorn made with coconut oil and topped with heaps of butter.

Thought of a movie theatre when I first smelled this. Buttered popcorn, lactonic, super sweet. Too sweet for me.

This perfume reminds me of a doughnut, oddly enough. It has a very gourmandy/pastry type smell to it.

Such a HEAVY scent !! Huge sillage, good longevity and it's deffo economic bc 2 spritz go a longggg way. I find the smell a bit too synthetic for my liking, but my sister and friends love it and always spray it on themselves. Funny scent, although overly sweet. The coconut is really creamy; I smell the pralines. I think this is what I imagined Pink Sugar would smell like. I personally love it 100% more than Brazilian Crush, which I find basic and generic. This one has more character; a simple, cute fragrance. I wouldn't recommend blind buying (as I did) bc although the coconut, vanilla, praline are present, I find them special, very unnatural, almost headache inducing - which is a style, a type of scent and I see how people would like them! Overall, if you've liked Pink Sugar, I'd say you'll like this (and i didn't like Pink sugar). Edit: i tried it again on a winter night and its growing on me! I have to spray lightly and from afar but then... this is probably how i imagined crystal noir to be. Lasting power ok, projection good... im glad i didnt sell it! It does smell super synthetic but in a low quality butter type. Still kinda edible

I get buttered popcorn and toasted coconut chips. It smells nice, but not the way I was expecting. I was hoping for more of a sweet, piña colada or coconut cake type of scent. If you like caramel popcorn, then you'll probably like this. To my nose, the coconut is more subtle and in the background while the praline and caramel are more dominant. It's decent but it's my least favorite of the Sol de Janeiro body sprays. Longevity is great for a body spray. I could still smell it on myself 5 hours after spraying.

Buttered popcorn and coconut hair grease. It reminds me of getting my hair done for church on a Saturday night while watching a movie Marathon on the usa cable channel. Childhood memories. I spray this my night clothes to remember those days

Coconut buttered popcorn. I asked a couple friends to smell it on my arm and they all scrunched their faces LOL. I think it’s just an odd combo. Feels more like a fall scent.

Ladies, the notes have not been changed on this page to the "new and improved" edition that was just released in August of 2019. The reformulated version has been added to the database as "Coco Cabana 2019." A note on the Sol de Janeiro website about the new and improved version reads: "Our original fragrance was blended with a particular note that had a buttery quality that for some, could even smell a little like popcorn. We’ve removed that note and have added notes of tropical orchid and creamy sandalwood for heightened sophistication." I have it on order and will update with a review at a later date.

overpoweringly sweet and coconutty... I really do love coconut, but I couldn't find myself reaching for this body spray at all!!! (even coconut from the body shop is way less sweet). I am not a fan of sweets in fragrance and vanilla, so this explains why I did not like it so much. There are no notes caramel, praline, and especially, there is NO coffee at all in here (as listed). It is just strong coconut, vanilla and sugar (and little hints of marshmallow). Also, it isn't as long lasting as other Sol de Janeiro's body sprays. I wish I could return this, cause there is no way I will be using this.

Here is my promised follow-up review (also posted on the reformulated Coco Cabana 2019 page): The reformulation of Coco Cabana is *very similar* to the original, but they've managed to massively tone down the butteriness. With that out of the way, I'm now able to smell more of the floral, and it's not as in-your-face and intense (or as linear) as pre-reformulation. (Less butter; more creaminess.) But it is still quite decadently coconutty, so if you don't fare well with that note, I'd say...try Brazilian Crush! It's still the best from this brand, IMO.

This is a very sweet and heavy scent. I wish I liked this, because I love the Brazilian Crush one. Unfortunately, this is just overly sweet and cloying to me. I do pick up on the buttery-element some people here talk about, I think that’s what makes is too heavy for me! The price is really good though. Definitely not a fresh coconut, not a safe blind buy.

Reminds me of Demeter chocolate chip cookie, largely because I could smell wheat in there too. Pooped in mecca and got one spray on the tester paper to take with me, couldn't get rid of a buttery chocolate cookie smell. Some people might like it, i just grew sick of using Demeter chocolate chip cookie in the past 😄

I've sampled the lotion before. While I'll gladly recommend Sol de Janeiro's other body lotions (and the fact that they have the best foot cream on the market), Coco Cabana smelled like movie theater popcorn. It was actually really off-putting.

By the notes and profile I should love this. However it’s much too sweet and heavy in honey. I can see the butter reference. It’s like honey and praline concentrate... putting my travel lotion in the giveaway pile.

As someone who LOVES coconut scents, this came across like a very synthetic coconut. I really wanted to like it but just couldn't.
