The further it gets into the dry down the more of a decadent and heavenly sweet brown sugar scent swirls throughout the amber-y vanilla, gaining a richness as it does. I also get more subtle notes intertwined throughout of fruity and syrupy sweet pear, fresh and soft spicy pink pepper, soft and powdery musk, and something giving just a whisper of a slightly fresh scent (maybe the jungle essence?). This even manages to give off luxe, glam, and classy vibes, while still being cozy, comforting, and versatile I was extremely excited for the launch of Sundays in Rio because I’m a huge SDJ fan (as well as vanilla fan), and was thrilled to discover they were doing a vanilla centered fragrance. This definitely does not disappoint! It’s 100% permanent line worthy, and certainly deserves its own matching body care products! I’m already planning on ordering at least 2 more bottles because this deserves to be worn with regularity! Dare I say it could even be signature fragrance worthy for some! I think this is going to be another crowd pleaser, my boyfriend and our roommate (the only 2 people besides myself who have already smelled it) immediately complimented me on it! This is warm, sweet, sensual, and sexy, and it has a certain rich depth to it, but without being too much. It’s actually a surprisingly easy reach as well as being quite versatile, just like the majority of SDJ fragrances! I highly recommend this for vanilla lovers as well as SDJ fans. I love that it’s not too heavy or cloying even in this 90 degree summer heat. So, I can actually see this working well year round, although it might work best as an evening scent during the spring and summer. I feel like this can work for the majority of occasions from casual to date nights, and for work and/or school. Now, this isn’t some breakthrough scent, or super unique, but that in no way takes a way from its beauty. I can already say that it’s easily in my top 5 SDJ scents along with Summer é Amor, 39, 62, and 40! For some reference, I own all of their permanent line scents, as well as the OG Coco Cabana, the ‘24 LE trio, the ‘25 LE trio, and now this new Sundays in Rio LE mist. I do see some similarities (to a greater or lesser degree) to fragrances such as Kayali Vanilla 28, Kayali Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar, The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods, JPG La Belle, Phlur Vanilla Skin, VS Vanilla Lace, BBW Wicked Vanilla Woods, BBW Vanilla Romance, BBW Cozy Vanilla Bourbon. None of these are dupes, or even close to being identical, but as I mentioned, I do get at least some similarity that makes me think of them. The longevity is very good, I get about 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection is nice, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me. I really hope that they make this beauty permanent because it’s such a wonderful fragrance!

The dry down envelopes you as it intertwines warm golden amber, and animalic musk. Overall, it’s a spiced and warm amber-y vanilla intertwined with syrupy pear and musk. I love this one! It does remind me of a less fruity and more spiced vanilla version of 40. I’m a big fan of SDJ, and own most of their fragrances. My top 5 are Summer è Amor, 62, 39/Coco Cabana, 40, and Sundays in Rio. I’m also strongly reminded of The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods (another favorite of mine). I’m somewhat reminded of Donna Karen Cashmere & Vanilla Essence, Cashmere & Palo Santo, VS Bare Sueded Vanilla, Wicked, BBW Wicked Vanilla Woods, Together Weather, and Vanilla Romance, mainly because of the spiced amber-y vanilla. To me, this feels feminine, and like it would suit women of any age. I think this works best during the colder weather of fall and winter because of its warmth and coziness. I think this is most fitting for casual occasions, date nights, and work/school. I get good performance with Sundays in Rio, especially considering it’s a mist. The longevity it moderate to strong as it lasts about 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection is moderate as it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. FULL Review Below!👇🏽 including perfume paring. (never wrote such a long review lol). Firstly, never a Sol de Janeiro body spray went out of stock from the Sephora (Germany) app, let alone in just few days!!! Thankfully, even though i didn’t smell it, the notes spoke my language- divine so i blind bought 2 & I’m so glad!!! Because i now want at least 2 more. Packaging:- The most beautiful bottle I’ve ever seen Sol de Janeiro made! It feels fancy & classy. Deep maroon? With gold accents & white letters, honestly perfectly made. You can still see the product inside, which I like to see how much left. 10/10 Scent Strength:- At first I was underwhelmed with the power, I thought the scent would scream & make its presence bold like the packaging, unfortunately that was not the case. But after spraying some more you can smell it better & of course lasts longer. Good thing is after some time of maceration scent gets stronger but if still have preferred it to be strong from the first mist. Scent Smell:- Vanilla with sexy amber, touch of fruitiness from the pear, a touch of pepper for more elegance. Gorgeous! It is different than their other fruity & vanillas, this is more of perfumey, if you know what I mean. This my friends is a body mist you wear if you want to stand out, a sexy date or night out. Classy & non juvenile. 9/10 if the scent was stronger I’d give it a 100/10. Perfumes that slap together:- 1. Valentino Donna Intense. 2. Mugler Alien Goddess Intense. 3. Mugler Alien Hypersense. 4. Phlur Vanilla Skin. There is more but those are SO GOOD together! I need to test other more to see. Can’t wait for fall to bathe in it. ❤️

My absolute favorite, I bought 8 bottles lmao. Description: it's soft, warm, spicy vanilla. The resinous amber note grounds it and makes the dry down soo cozy. My favorite part is the warm fruity burst at the beginning. On the SDJ website it's listed as pear and I do smell that. But like more pear skin, less pulpy fruit. Sweet, bright, a little herbal, a little musky. It's incredibly unique and not like anything else in the lineup. I think people compare it to 40 because it's "technically" a fruity vanilla but that's ignoring all the nuanced, spicy floral notes that 40 doesn't have. I'd say it's like 30% similar. The dry down is IDENTICAL to Rare Beauty amber vanilla layering balm. Amazing. It also layers beautifully with Cosmic Kylie 2.0 and Phlur Vanilla Skin. I'm heartbroken this is limited edition.
