04 - Folies à Montmartre

I smelled this today (on paper strip) and it reminded me of Oud Stallion by Maison Crivelli. I tried to explain that to the sales lady at the store, but she was unfamiliar with the Maison Crivelli and Oud Stallion. Now I come to Fragrantica to see the notes and compare them to Oud Stallion and not only is there some overlap in the listed notes, but it is also the same perfumer for both (Jordi Fernandez). I guess my nose was correct after all. Today (April, 19, 2026) I decided to wear it since the temps in NY is a bit cooler than usual for this time of the year. The scent reminds me of a trio of scents, Oud Stallion by Maison Crivelli, and two D&G scents: Velvet Zaferrano and Velvet Passion Oud. One hour in, it definitely more leather than rose, and the saffron is still adding some sweetness. I will say that compared to Oud Stallion, this one is more subtle. Oud stallion is potent yet beautiful and remains in that state for a while. That being said, 3 hours I walked past my wife from about 3 feet away and she said "ooh, that smells nice, is that a new one?" The sillage is nice.

Imagine buying your dream car, whatever it maybe, and it has the most exquisite leather seats and finishing. Imagine you are scenting the car with the most expensive oud car scent, with slightly metallic and rosy touches. The combination of leather and oud, is immaculate. Yes - it has been done before. But in my opinion, it isn't done this way, enough in today's context. And I for one, adore a new car leather! I’m so sick of the white floral, vanilla and woods that every blooming brand repeats. This one’s a total stunner! Keep your eyes peeled! Oh and compliments GALORE btw! Every single person in my office complimented me on it. Never experienced that in my life!

Awesome fragrance I love it. Many many compliments will be a hit for sure !

Warning: this is not a rose scent! Don't be fooled by the apparent complexity of this on paper. On skin, it just smells like leather. The rose vanishes completely, and all that remains is a slightly incensy leather with the lamest excuse for oud in the background. Hard pass.

This is the only perfume I felt disgusted in all Solferino line. I hate what it's trying to be. Just another arabian sickening sweet leather off putting smell. Nothing original, nothing exciting, nothing pleasant.
