Herbe Zen

This is REALLY a great one! Similar in the opening to Versace’s Versense, but after that closer to Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori. Really beautiful and a perfect budget option to these. To me, this one has a prominent basil note (not listed), which also makes it a great alternative to chasing second hand bottles of Manifesto by Isabella Rossellini - the dry down is CLOSE! Stays (with low/medium projection, so more ”office friendly” than Versense) about 3 h on skin and 6 h on clothes. I just keep inhaling this, sooo good.

Have I actually found a freshie I enjoy? This starts off very herbal, calling to mind the scent of fresh oregano and rue sprigs crushed between the fingers. It's bitter green, earthy, and peppery. After a bit of dry-down I catch a faint hint of cigarette smoke that I don’t love to say the least, but it doesn’t last long. Soon after, the fragrance settles into an invigorating, fresh minty scent with a subtle aquatic quality, like stepping outside after a downpour. I think I'm going to start wearing this as a workout scent the cool mint is so invigorating, definitely not something I'll want to wear to bed.

I love this scent! I wish they could make a version that lasted longer. It’s so refreshing and dries down to a nice sandalwood and cedar that is just subtly sweet. Mostly fresh and green though. I need this in a more concentrated form.

At first, I smell a hint of Santal 33 Le Labo. Then I notice a cool natural pine scent that I really enjoy.

Decent green frag, basic after shower mist types - with decent longevity 2h or so. It is mildly green but I would rather classify it as feminine. I was looking for a classic green after shower cologne, but this didn't cut it. Will likely gift it out.

very minty at first, then so sickly sweet. old chewing gum and public bathroom hand soap. you could get papaya from it but only if you focus, i don't think it's where anyone's mind would go first though. same suffocating oversweetness as swallowing a spoonful of stevia. nauseous. after a few minutes it settles into something still very sweet, but muskier and a little greener on the skin but virtually disappears, like you recently used cheap men's shower gel.

Another scent I’ve given to my spouse bc it doesn’t smell nearly as good on me :( This is my first Solinotes purchase and, while the scent is lovely, the longevity isn’t great. I think it will be my last Solinotes purchase for that reason. The projection on HZ is over an arm’s length away for a solid hour. Pleasant skin scent after that hour or so of wear. This is a very fresh scent in that it’s reminiscent of an old school aftershave. It’s probably closer to a fougure dna profile than not. I know HZ is all about herbs, but I get more of a masculine-coded amorphous green scent than I do any distinctive herbs. A paper test will not do this fragrance justice. It comes alive on skin (just not mine). It’s captivating and truly shines in high heat.

Beautiful and green and earthy and lasts for as long as it takes for the alcohol to evaporate.
