Tonka

Well, I've been waiting for a long time to post this review! Honestly, I'm vegan and I live in a country where I don't have much choice of perfume. I had previously bought saint by kat von d online and boy, was it awful! After this, I want to leave a review for it too😂 Actually, I had to look for another vegan perfume and bought this one online too, because it was not available in stores. And until it reached my hand, I was really stressed that this might be the same as the previous one, but... This is wonderful! Before I became a vegan, I had famous perfumes like Ajmal, Versace and Dior. But I can say without a doubt that this one was the best perfume I smelled in my life. Apart from the written notes, I also feel a little coconut, cinnamon, cherry, caramel and even coffe from this (I don't know how, but believe me, people around me say the same thing). And this is a wonderful combination of sweetness and a little spicy that is going to surprise your friends on dates! And wherever you go, you are going to answer this question: how good is your perfume, what is its name?? I have to say about the sillage and longevity: When I sprayed it on the first floor of the house, my sister shouted from the second floor: "Did you buy a new perfume?" And after 7-8 hours, even though I had only sprayed the first time, she asked me: Did you spray again? A few tips: on the skin, it is much more wonderful than on clothes and on the edge of the bottle. It's crazy on the hair. I am using it in summer and I think it is quite suitable, but if I wanted to choose, I would say that it is even better for cold seasons.

I stumbled upon this line today in Target, while I had actually gone there to check out what all the fuss was over Mixbar. I found this line to be MUCH better than any of mixbar's offerings. Where's the fanfare?! It's pretty quality for the pricepoint and the fragrances actually have some longevity to them. The Tonka in particular stole my heart, it's not pure Tonka at all, there are definitely other notes wrapped around it. I get vanilla, some type of light floral note and a woody undertone as well. This fragrance for me is everything I expected from Rhagba, which seems to be a hit for everyone but left me quite nauseated as it turns sticky after awhile and almost smells like...well... dry saliva. This fragrance manages to stay light somehow, even though it is woody and sweet. It stays fresh, imo and is wearable and cozy. It smells like a cream colored chunky sweater, lol I am going to do my best NOT to tell people about this because I want these fragrances to stay cheap and available, lol Highly recommend. Even if Tonka isn't your cup of tea, so many of the others in this lineup are awesome! Wonderful for mixing and layering with more expensive fragrances.

I was wasting time In 🎯 the other day and noticed they had a full set of testers. I have always loved tonka bean in fragrances, it's one of my favorite notes. It is a predominant note in the fragrances I own. Needless to say I was so sad when the store closest to me didn't have any of it in stock... So I drove 7 miles across town to pick it up. THIS IS WHAT FALL SMELLS LIKE. Not syrupy sweet pie, mapley dessert concoctions... This is warm sweaters. Fall leaves freshly fallen in cool breezes. Warm fireside coffee with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon. A sexy hint of skin when snuggled in a blanket. I am OBSESSED, and I can't wait to see how this pairs with some of my other fragrances. This has a good spillage, but it sure is nice to have someone lean in and tell you that you smell delectable. ❤️

Oh my, this is *the* cosy fragrance I’ve been searching for and I still can’t believe how cheap it is! Someone said it’s the olfactory equivalent of a cashmere sweater, and I couldn’t agree more. It’s warm and addicting, feels like a hug. It will definitely shine in the colder months but I’ve been using now that it’s summer and I don’t find it cloying at all. I wish longevity was better, but for the price I don’t mind reapplying during the day. (I just got it about a week ago so I’m curious to see if it will perform better when it’s colder). Definitely good for layering, but I’ve been enjoying it on its own too. I even wear it to go to bed because I can’t get enough. My only regret with this perfume is that I didn’t discover it earlier.

this scent really does smell like a warm cashmere sweater. to my nose and on my skin, this is a soft, warm almond scent with a veil of ambery vanilla draped over it in a comforting, velvety way. the overall drydown is more akin to cozy cotton candy. i really can't get enough of this; as someone said before, it's a really good cozy yet casual scent, the type that makes you yearn for more without being too cloying. it's kind of addictive, really. this scent profile makes the most sense in the fall/wintertime, but because of how light and well-blended it is, you can really wear it any time of the year. my only real gripe is that the scent isn't as strong a performer as i wish it was, but it's still amazing for the price.

This is such a beautiful fragrance. A twinkling sprite of lightly floral tonka vanilla cloud with some sort of light hearted fruit to keep things bright and swirly. While this perfume is sweet and flirty it never feels cloying. It’s perfect for a first date or hanging out by yourself in your favorite sweats. The only downside is it doesn’t last very long. Thankfully it’s affordable so I can reapply throughout the day. I bought the 0.5 ounce bottle for $12.00. I plan on not only getting a bigger bottle, but am also going to try this brands other fragrances. This fragrance is so pretty I’ve sprayed my scarf, my body and am holding back from dousing my sheets. I need a bigger bottle before I can do that!

For the price this stuff is great. Very warm and comforting gourmand scent. Definitely get a strong cherry not probably from tonka and benzaldehyde or and almond note. Sweet, warm, cherry. Would be perfect for the fall. It's unisex but I would prefer it on a female. The sillage is very intimate and performance isn't amazing. I'd say maybe 3 hours but for the price just fill an atomizer and reapply. Perfect bedtime scent for me.

This is hands down the best $20 I've spent on any fragrance! Solinotes can be worn alone, of course, but I always find myself layering, and also having to pace myself - I could really wear this every single day, lol. I wish Fragrantica would list the complete list of notes as stated online: Top notes : Mandarin Flower, Petit Grain Heart notes : Tonka Bean, Vanilla Bottom notes : Amber, Musk

Lovely, vanillic tonka that just hints at earthy tobacco. It is not complex, but it is creamy and delicious. It isn't ultra long-lasting, but it does linger nicely for several hours. For the price, this is an absolute steal. Update: I woke up today and can still smell this in my clothes, and it is as good as it was yesterday. Kinda boozy, but not naughty. Highly recommend this.

The only other tonka scent I've tried has been Commodity Tonka which seems a bit harsh, strong and cloying compared to Solinotes. Even though it is much lighter in both longevity and sillage than Commodity, I prefer the Solinotes because the overall fragrance is much smoother and better blended on my skin. It's way easier to wear than the Commodity. Rating: 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒 Cruelty free 🐾

I love this perfume, I have used this for about two years now. I buy it at my local pharmacy every few months, it is a nice layering scent, I spray it after showering and carry it around in my purse. It is not long lasting or very interesting but you will smell clean and sweet, more interesting than vanilla. To me this is a nice older sister to a simple vanilla perfume.

While I lean more toward Vanilla than Tonka, I'm glad I gave this a try. It smells much nicer on me than the brand's Vanille fragrance. The Tonka is more forward than the Vanille and it has more staying power. Still, I was surprised that this was labeled as "perfume" and not toilette water because of the weakness. I like using it with a vanilla hand cream that I have.

This is a unisex fragrance slightly leaning feminine. I don't get that much tonka bean as the name suggest but I do get a lot of cherry in the opening, and mid. It's pretty decent for the price but it's very weak for a edp. Definitely to overspray this if you want any kind of longevity or sillage. Scent: 6.5/10 Longevity: 2-3 hours

This is so beautiful. I remember when I was a kid, my grandmother had horses. She used to spray them with something called Show-Sheen after giving them a bath. I know it sounds strange, but I loved the smell of that stuff and this reminds me of it. It’s everything I love about vanilla and spice! Too bad it doesn’t last.

Im almost out of my second bottle of this,I am dying to buy it again 💀💀💀cuz its the perfect one for those days when i don’t feel like wearing a perfume but a still want to smell nice yet simple but in a good way, damn it’s just impossible to find where I live, Is there any other similar ones to this?

Received this for Christmas as everyone knows I love “vanilla-type” fragrances. There is tonal, vanilla and just a slight milk or cream note. Very wearable for me, blends into my skin and feels very natural. I will be enjoying this one for a long time I think.

Solinotes knocked it out of the park with this one! I had my nose on the Vanilla and this Tonka one. The Vanilla is definitely artificial vanilla - but omg the TONKA! I get cinnamon, vanilla tonka warm milk coming right out of the pot. 15/10 for me. LOVE !

I really like this scent. I don't get any plastic doll head, play doh or alchohol blast. It reminds me of a sweet cherry pipe tobacco with some vanilla. It would be great to layer, but I rock it all by itself. Big compliment getter and definately unisex.

This is my FAVORITE solinotes! I love wearing it alone and layering. Day, night, hot, and cold!!! It's affordable too so that's a plus. It is sweet but I still see it as perfectly unisex. I feel that way in general about fragrance. It's just so cozy!

I love this. Sprayed it once & was hypnotized. Couldn't leave the store without it. I get a boozy pie crust scent.. but in a sexy and cozy type of way. Lasts 5 hours on skin. Lovely on it's own, but can be layered with just about anything as well!

Tonka is one of my favorite scents from Solinotes. I love the spicy notes. This fragrance smells very similar to Golden Sands by Al Rehab. I love layering them both together to get longevity. Also pairs well with Choco Musk.

Warm your skin but better scent with a touch of cherry cola. Would be great for layering if you want to add some warmth. Wonderful and cozy fragrance.

Even though there's no cherry in this at all, it really does smell like TF Lost Cherry to me. The warm almondy ambery mixture is so lovely.

This is the best of the Solinotes line. So warm, creamy, spicy - it gives me the same vibe as Replica By the Fireplace/Jazz Club. So yummy.

It’s so warm without being too sweet! Something about it makes me think of almonds. I’m reviewing the mist not the edp.

Lovely fruity sweet tonka scent. Lasts all day and great for layering with other fragrances.

I tried this at a shop and was blown away by it. To me it’s dead on Lost Cherry.

I’m still on the fence about this one. I really like the smell from the bottle, but on my skin I definitely get the play doh smell that some have mentioned. After the dry down, however, for a couple hours it’s a warm, cozy, soft scent that I adore. But after a couple more hours it’s more powdery which I kind of associate as “old lady”. I want to like it and will give it another try. I think it performs better on clothes for me, and mixed with an amber scent is really nice! I’m not mad that I spent $20 but I don’t know if I’ll buy it again. Edit: I’ve used this for a couple weeks now and it’s grown on me to the point where I wear it to work and to bed. I guess this is me admitting I like the scent of play doh!

This is a really good affordable alternative to TF lost cherry. I'm a huge lost cherry fanatic, I have lost cherry plus just about every clone/dupe/inspired by fragrance I can find of it. This is pretty darn close if you tone down that super sweet cherry from LC just a touch. The performance is just below average same as LC, I find I go nose blind to it almost instantly but others can still smell it on me and for this price you can afford to overspray or respray anyway. If you like lost cherry but find it a bit too sweet or too feminine this would be perfect for you. I will always have a bottle of this in my collection.

If someone made me smell this fragrance and asked me to guess I’d think it’s one of Lost Cherry’s dupes. Not saying it’s a close dupe, but there’s something similar going on. This perfume is so deceptive, like how is the only note listed is tonka but everyone thinks it has almonds and cherries notes inside? The value for money is amazing, if you like almonds, have a really tight budget and want to smell sophisticated you should definitely grab this one. Or you can use it to layer with other perfumes. Only downside is the performance, not the best, doesn’t last that long, but the bottle is easy to carry around I guess?

Smells like a cozy, fuzzy, cream-colored cashmere sweater in the fall or winter. It's ambery, warm, a little smoky/woody, and spicy. The scent is good but not amazing. It would be a nice cool weather fragrance if it lasted longer. Need to spray a lot and reapply so I'd take it with you. The 1⁄2 oz bottle would be good as a "travel size" for reapplication. ◼︎Safe Blind Buy: yes if you like vanillic, warm, spicy scents ◼︎Longevity: weak. ◼︎Gender: unisex but leans feminine ◼︎Age Group: any age really, but I thinks 20s+ would like it most since it's a woody, borderline unisex scent.

One of the local drug-stores has a display of these, but they're the water based body spray form, not the EDP you see for sale online through various sellers. It's pretty much what it says it is; a single note tonka bean (smooth, not obnoxiously sweet vanilla) fragrance, but it leans more in the direction of a feminine fragrance than it does unisex. I liked it, but because it was more feminine than I could easily pull off, I gave this to a co-worker who is a BIGTIME lover of vanilla fragrances. She practically danced when she got a good whiff of it. :-D

This smells like flat root beer to me, it has a cool kind of refreshing, cool, sweetness as opposed to a warm amber sweetness. It's a bit powdery. On my skin it lasted a log time and projected, it verges on cloying. It's similar to Amande but Amande is a bit more complex. Update: recently bought Bella Vita by Guess and they are nearly the same, on me Tonka was stronger, lasted longer and had a bottle cap candy powderiness, whereas Bella Vita was more "liquid" not in a juicy way in a refreshing cool root beer sort of way.

Yum, yum, yum!!! This is a perfectly cozy, not overly sweet, vanilla-esque fragrance - tonka feels more mature and luxurious than a standard vanilla frosting type scent. It reminds me of a fancy shea butter lotion, with hints of wood. Melts into the skin leaving you feeling sexy and inviting. For the price point, this bottle feels nice and heavy with a minimalistic glass design. My only complaint is it doesn't have much staying power. It's pretty close to a Body Shop fragrance in feel and silage/potency.

This perfume smells so good! It’s a very simple fragrance and is good for gourmand lovers. However, there is an element that smells like slightly unisex to me. It definitely smells like warm, vanilla tonka, but there is also a masculine-leaning scent somewhere in the mix. It’s so gorgeous. It’s a lovely, dreamy tonka scent that has a twist. I can’t stop smelling myself when I spray this. If you overspray, it can be cloying. Overall, such a good, inexpensive fragrance to try.

Imagine a cocoa butter scent with undertones of vanilla, coconut, & woody notes. It reminds me of a snickerdoodle cookie even though it doesn’t smell like cinnamon. This is such a warm and comforting scent. It’s extremely lightly scented so it’s best to layer it. Edit: this scent pretty much disappears after an hour on clothes and it’s practically gone instantaneous when you spray it on your skin. I really like this scent but I will not repurchase because of that reason.

i have the body spray which i think is pretty similar, and it smells okay. at first it smells really soapy?? but when it dries down it smells fine. it's really really simple so if you like fragrances that are extremely simple then you might like this, but personally i prefer scents with a little more depth. it's really plain so it might be good for everyday wear, but honestly it's not my favorite thing ever

This perfume was such a fun surprise. It's not straight tonka, but the tonka is definitely there along with vanilla and and something a little woody. It seems to turn pretty spicy on my skin. While you could wear this on its own, I typically don't— I use it to warm up other fragrances. I also love it on my pillowcase at night. Honestly there is nothing to complain about for the price in my mind.

This Tonka has almost a tobacco-ey scent to it. Reminds me of a few Tom Ford perfumes and if you layer it with Firecracker Pop from BBW, then you'll get Lost Cherry vibes. I think it is a great booster scent that gives maturity and depth to a sweeter perfume. Highly recommended if you enjoy Tonka notes found in Tom Ford and Guerlain. Goes with Kay Ali Burning Cherry as well.

i bought the body spray version because i wanted a hair perfume that didn’t have any alcohol in it. i like that it smells really light and sweet but it really doesn’t scent my hair at all. i could see myself liking the perfume because the scent is very simple and inoffensive, but the body spray is incredibly weak so i would not recommend!

Opens like a basic but good sweet fruity floral. Dries to a lovely vanilla scent. Not unsweetened, but not candy either. A hint of powdery the way powdered sugar is powdery, but not that sweet. It's a cozy scent after the drydown, but not so cozy it doesn't also work in spring and fall. Very wearable.

I bought this perfume lately and I like it. It's simple, light, feminine, has hints of Tonka bean, vanilla, Amber, Musk. It has short sillage, so it's better to re-apply every 30 min - 1 hour. Price is reasonable. Can be worn everywhere: office, church, party etc.

Musky almond biscotti. Not overly sweet. Sillage is close to the skin. It’s fuzzy and comforting. I love to layer this with my violet scents to ground them with earthiness, and to layer with heavier ouds to bring out more warmth and femininity.

It's what is says on the label. Tonka. I have worn it only once, my significant other wears it more often. It's one of the scents that smells different depending on the skin type I guess. It does not smell bad, it's sweet and cozy.

Gorgeous nutty, cinnamony, sweet tonka bean. This is my new bedtime scent and it’s so wonderfully cozy. It envelopes you in this splendid dessert. Long live tonka!

I like this perfume for when I don't know what to wear. It smells very good and I like the fact that this is a true unisex scent.

Good and bad. The day I bought this I sprayed in the air and really liked it. Then I sprayed it on test paper and also really liked. Unfortunately it was completely different when I sprayed my wrist just 1 time. I didn't hate it at 1st but it seemed different then when sprayed in the air and on my test paper. About 30 min later I was watching TV and started to smell something unpleasant. I agree with a previous review that said this has notes of an earthy tobacco. It just seemed to keep getting stronger and making me nauseous. Finally about 2 hrs after spraying on my wrist I couldn't handle it and had to wash my wrist. I used an unscented dove bar and after washing I could still smell it. So I took a bottle of rubbing alcohol and poured it all over my wrist and then rinsed it off. The smell was still there. This time I doused it a few times with rubbing alcohol and let is sit dripping wet over the sink for a few mins. Rinsed it off and then wet back over it again with my dove bar and wash cloth and scrubbed like crazy. Thankfully it was gone. I had such and unpleasant experience that I wanted nothing to do with any perfume for 4 days. I completely believe this was just 1 of those perfumes that just didn't work with my body's chemistry. I think Solinotes has beautiful scents and I'm obsessed with the Vanilla one. As long as it works with your body chemistry I think it's a winner. It's definitely worth the price given how well the scent stayed on my skin.

I was excited to smell this because I love tonka in other fragrances, but unfortunately this pulls a bit sour on me, like a cherry. It’s a nice amber-y sweet scent in the dry down, but I just can't get past the tartness in the beginning. I also don't know how people are saying this smells anything like Lost Cherry. The only similarity to me is the cherry almond-like scent, but don't expect a boozy cherry lol.

Not exactly a dupe but a budget-friendly alternative to Jo Malone’s Myrrh and Tonka. It’s very cosy and inviting. I find tonka quite plasticky and I’m not crazy about it. I don’t regret buying this but I wouldn’t get it again.
