Chiffon

chiffon—a delicate, quietly delicious fragrance. upon first spray, this scent opens with powerful, pure lemon myrtle. 10 minutes after wear on the skin, it's settled in beautifully, transforming into a murmur of sugary warm lemon meringue. the vanilla and white musk notes become more apparent the longer it's been worn, embracing and complimenting each other delightfully. this fragrance sits very close to the skin, and does not project much, if at all. the weak sillage doesn't bother me—to be honest, i'm mostly disappointed it doesn't last longer. of all the lemon scents i've tried, THIS is the most warm, natural, fresh baked lemon dessert non-sickeningly sweet scent i've had the pleasure of putting on. absolutely downright GOOD. but, as quickly as i fell in love with it, it was gone. i would wear this daily if the performance were better. still, i can't help but love it. very nicely done.

This review is for the EDP: Some reviews say that Chiffon smells like some kind of lemon dessert, but to me the lemon myrtle is pretty distinct from real lemon, keeping it from being too dessert-like (seriously, smell Chiffon and then smell a lemon or something made with it). It's more aromatic: lemony, but closer to citronella or lemongrass, or even lemon hard candy. The underlying vanilla is gorgeous and very sweet. Performance-wise, it lasts a long time: the myrtle fades but never quite goes away. I personally think this is a fantastic summer gourmand, precisely because it does *not* smell exactly like a lemon dessert, which could get cloying in the heat. A very happy scent! I am loving the quality of Solstice Scents' EDPs.

Fluffy dry lemon meringue with a sweet, dry white musk and a hint of sandalwood in the base. Beautifully blended! Very smooth throughout. The dry quality keeps it fresh and far from being too sweet or candy-like. Perfectly unisex if you're into semi-sweet citrus, sandalwood musks. One of the best lemon gourmands in my collection, and I have several. Wish it was available in bigger bottles! The EDP is my favorite as the notes are best displayed in this form. The oil is sweeter with less projection. I enjoy layering them. I added micro fine body shimmer to the EDP and it makes my skin look healthy and hydrated in the sunlight. This is a rare, back-up-bottle worthy scent.

I have this in the Burnishing Glace and it is pure ❤! I have tried Chiffon in oil, EDP and Glace form and I prefer the Glace. I wish all the scents came in Burnishing Glace. It not only lasts the longest on me but it also makes my skin silky smooth. The fragrance itself strongly reminds me of that candy Lemonheads which I love. It is perfectly sweet without ever being cloying. Rating: 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒 Cruelty free 🐾

Chiffon isn't just marketing here...it really does manage to evoke chiffon fabric! The musk is so well behaved and pleasant. The lemon is sweet like a lemon bar, not like a cleaner. The sweetness is subtle, like a dusting of powdered sugar over the top. Definitely recommend as a warm weather gourmand. Chiffon is not a strong perfume, but not so delicate it isn't worth your while.

This review is for the EDP (not the oil). This is quite extraordinary, soooo pretty, and simple. It's a bright yet smooth lemon myrtle -not exactly the lemon fruit- with vanilla marshmallow/cream. Not biting/harsh and not cleaning product-like. Well-blended. A standout lemon scent and I love it!!! Bring back the EDP!!!

A very uplifting and good-natured fragrance. Like a lemon cake sweetened with vanilla and a bit of cinnamon. It stays for quite a long time, not being overwhelming but creating an aura of cozyness and positivity. Nice one!

Delicious sweet lemon with creamy vanilla and hints of musk. Truly delicious...Like a lemon dessert. Simple. Crave worthy. Long lasting, but sits very close. Must for any lemon lover 🍋 (have the EDP and Oil roll-on)

Chiffon (in oil format) isn't a long lasting scent, but my God is it gorgeous! As of writing this it's available in EDP format, so I'll have to give it try before it's gone.

I read about Solstice Scents for the first time here on Fragrantica on Saturday, and by Monday a parcel arrived with 5 samples including Chiffon. This was one of the free ad ons so I’m testing a splash vial. First thing that hits my nose is citrus, which I now understand is lemon myrtle. It’s sweetened by vanilla, and smells a lot like a breakfast cake. Chiffon is fairly linear, and the lemon myrtle never dissipates, only growing softer over time. Fresh, green and very natural, spring through summer scent. My husband is able to pick it up a few feet away during the first half hour, but then it stays close. (He thinks it smells like lemon custard ice cream.) So far I’m impressed.

I just got around to wearing a sample of this that I bought a whole year ago! (Obviously I have way too many perfume samples in general.) But this is a lovely soft creamy lemon. I would like to buy this in the lotion form when Solstice opens back up for spring 2021 for sure

i smell a strong lemon with vanilla and amber. very pretty. this definitely has a lemon cream or frosting feel, but it’s not heavy. like a light airy gourmand that can be worn in spring. really uplifting and comforting at the same time.

Very light and fleeting. Chiffon is a good name. I have it in the oil but would like to try it in the EPD. Lemon and vanilla, simple but pretty.

Fluffy, white, perfect marshmallow.

This smells exactly as I expected- which is to say, *precisely* like lemon chiffon. It’s the smell of lemon curd, lemon pudding, or the filling of lemon merengue pie. The company’s description warns of tartness in the opening, but I have the perfume oil and it is far from tart. There is nothing sour about this lemon- it has been sugared and comes with a luscious dollop of realistic whipped cream on top. (I can’t speak for the EDP- the alcohol in the formulation might very well add more tartness to the top notes.) I can definitely make the mental correlation with chiffon fabric, as both are so airy light and fluffy. This is really yummy, but i find it just a little bit *too* gourmand to reach for it very often. It’s nice and cozy, but quiet. On me it sits very close to skin but is fairly tenacious, and I do detect it wafting around when I move, for a few hours. It is the type of scent I like to apply for my own enjoyment before snuggling into bed. I feel like it would work for this purpose in any season. Chiffon is very sweet, but well behaved and not cloying at all. I can’t imagine it offending anyone. I don’t actually notice amber here, though the notes list it. I feel if the amber were a bit more intense, (or maybe leaned more toward a more labdanum rather than ambroxan forward accord) the composition would be a bit more “perfumey,” and to me, more wearable. As it is, Chiffon is extremely pleasant and I really enjoy the scent, but it smells so much like food that again, I can’t really think of many occasions to wear it. But for the price I’m happy to have it in my collection. And as others have mentioned, Solstice Scents, is an absolutely lovely little company! Their customer service and shipping time is awesome, and the little cards and hand written note they included, as well as the packaging- all of it is just really well done. I’ve tried a LOT of indie perfume oil brands, and in my opinion Solstice Scents and Ava Luxe really are a cut above most of them.

At first spray this is LEMON– a bright, tart, enormous face-punch of tangy yellow juice and sour, citric acid. What’s interesting is that it dissipates almost immediately and an airy sweetness emerges, which becomes a whipped cream/marshmallow note as it lingers upon the skin. Chiffon is a “dual concept fragrance” that brings together the sweet and refreshingly tart taste of Lemon Chiffon pie and the wispy beauty of chiffon fabric.

This is low-key exquisite. It presents like a beautiful woman with natural good looks who needn't wear flashy clothes or gaudy baubles to turn heads. The lemon is smooth and powdery, not too tangy/tart and is blended with a gentle, fizzy herbal zest. The vibe is mellow and tender, rather than screechy and sour.

The oil is so weak! Definitely one of the weakest Solstice Scents I’ve tried. It’s just a good simplistic, linear lemony vanilla. Basically the same as Firebird’s Cake, I think it’s called. Or poppyseed cake? Equally good, equally fleeting. Might as well be applying nothing.

This one is a lovely lemon and vanilla that’s sweet but still a little tart somehow. I tried the EDP and wish it had a bit more oomph and lasting power. I ordered several EDP samples from this line and they are all very well done.

Solstice Scents please bring back the EDP!!!! I love this scent it never fails me and the roller ball only projects so much :'(

Delicious REAL lemon pastry scent! I find it more satisfying to wear a dessert than to eat one.
