Conjure

O k. I swear. I’m going to stop prefacing my SS reviews after this. But one last one. I guess the moral of the story is to rest rest rest your perfume oils. I didn’t like this at first. When I first smelled this sample I was like, “ this smells like cookies “. Which is fine. Cookies are great. Cookies are yummy. But I’m a guy and I don’t wanna go around smelling like I’ve been in the kitchen perfecting my chocolate chip recipe all day. Now after about 3 months I’ve worn this the last few days. I love it. It’s dark and mysterious. The vanilla is in the back seat now, dampening the cookie vibe. I smell all of the “ dark and weird occult notes” that the name foreshadows. I get the cauldron smoke , a hint of rose and heavy incense And the vanilla is still there. The hint of cookies is still there. It actually reminds me of CK obsession for men without the citrus and heavy chemicals. Another one that seems fall/winter obvious but can actually be an “anytime” fragrance. I’m kinda thinking that is one of Angela’s things. Making those dark, heavy scents “normal”’and more approachable and more wearable. She’s a genious.

This review is for the EDP (most recent formulation): Conjure is a quintessential fall fragrance for me. It's unique but accessible, striking that balance between sweet and dark. It has a witchy, boho vibe but is also warm and cozy. For me, it's definitely more of a night/weekend scent, not something I'd wear to work. Some might find it old-fashioned due to its resins and amber notes. I am excited to see how my bottle ages. Although all of the notes are present from the onset, Conjure develops a bit throughout wear. At first, the spices dominate--people will say "fall candle" but I think it's a bit deeper and more sophisticated than that. Then, the scent is at its darkest, with the smoke and wood notes coming through. Finally, Conjure dries down to a dark, slightly powdery vanilla amber. This is a stronger scent with good lasting power. I had a rollerball a while back and the EDP smells pretty much like the oil, per my memory.

This is a smokeyish amber-vanilla with spice, and an odd "baby powder" note that I like. It is both sexy, warm and mysterious, as well as comforting. The baby powder competes with a kind of plastic oud--there's not a lot of it in here, but there's enough to make it interesting. I find it fairly linear--yet complex. The notes are rather distinct and occasionally vie for attention, one coming to the fore, and then receding--but over time, the overal profile does not change considerably. Also, up close, the oud and vanilla are predominant; however, in the air as a trail this moves into a sweet, faintly smokey vanilla amber. The cedar is extremely low-key. I really like it and have been enjoying wearing it to bed under a heaping mound of blankets! I highly recommend (Loving this whole line actually).

Conjure, A mystical, majickal fragrance..... This scent is hypnotic, soft, but strong.....and VERY mysterious. The cauldron smoke accord is in equal parts beautiful and eerie at the same ... A truly unique fragrance...and unlike anything that I have experienced before! Solstice Scents knows how to craft wonderful incense-based fragrances....WOW I would not hesitate to purchase a full bottle of the eau de parfum. I have both the extrait sample and parfum sample.....and they both smell and perform divinely. Bravo, Solstice Scents...very very impressive! The Verdict: EXCELLENT

Love this one. A golden, sticky, and magical fragrance that opens with light smoke, glowing amber, and subtle vanilla, fading away to powdery cedar. It's soft and sticks close to your skin. Very enjoyable, my favorite out of the Solstice Scents offerings I've sampled.

Sweet incense smoke. Beautiful witchy fragrance.

This is the softest and most subdued fragrance I've tried from SS yet. A little vanilla, a little sandalwood, soft smoke, sweet amber, all faintly intertwined in a distinctly witchy way. I think this could be a great layering base for a lot of vanilla or woody scents. For me, it's not quite interesting enough to need a full bottle.

Conjure is quite beautiful. I'm a fan of ambery-balsamic-spicy fragrances and this one is a big win for me. It's so soft, sensual, and inviting. Warm and cozy powdery amber with a little smoke. Just love it! I'm so impressed with Solstice Scents. Such unique and well-crafted fragrances. I just ordered some more samples to try and eagerly await their arrival. :)

Similar to Scrying Smoke, but sweeter. I swear I smell frankincense at the beginning. This seems like the base for Jack and the Devil. Smooth and nice amber. Some spice, some woods, no hard edges. Very nice, although I wish it were a bit stronger, so I might need to try the EDP.

Sweet and strange. Very mild considering the notes. Some woods and subtle pot smoke. Vanilla and sandalwood? Interesting. Let's see how this goes... Not at all gourmand. Slightly sweet with a definite note of bud in the background. Still unsettled, changing... The dry down is all the best scents in your dream headshop. Nothing off-putting or harsh. CONJURE is mild, welcoming, smooth, vanilla, woods, and weed with just a whisper of smoke. Soft powder and a barely-there touch of rose keep this fresh in the end game. ***30th*** EDP: I did not get any of the other nice notes described here except a dry, metallic smelling sawdust. I tried it on skin, hair, cotton and synthetic cloth, and air, all bad. It’s a shame, as I was looking forward to this one based on notes and reviews. Also, I don’t know if I got a bad batch but the smell was so weak even after spraying most of the edp on 1 shirt, I could barely smell it. Later when it dried, I could somewhat smell a plastic smoky polished wood, but nothing more. 0/10

Spicy, woody and delightfully pagan. I randomly selected this oil from Solstice for purchase because I like the name: Conjure. To me it is rather a simple yet mysterious fragrance and the notes that stand out most are allspice and sandalwood, with cinnamon being the predominant spice. It blends so smoothly with the sandalwood; not gourmand in the way of cinnamon rolls, rather it is like woody cinnamon incense, unburnt. I get nothing of rose and only a bare suggestion of amber. Spice rarely works for my skin; Opium is completely incompatible with my chemistry. Here it is warm and a bit cozy with a creamy strain of sandalwood; think spiced Samsara and you will have a general idea. Quite the succesful blind buy!

One of the best from SS, I love that this gives me JUST the incense and amber of Shalimar. Outstanding. Great potency, lasting power, and sillage. I use the EDP but I also have the oil. TBH, when I wear the EDP I like to oil with something else dark from SS, like something with soil/earth.

I was hoping for a thick smoky heavy scent but got a soft woody amber vanilla. Where's the spice? Where's the smoke? Perfectly safe and inoffensive. Wear it anywhere type of perfume.

Rosewood, resinous cistus labdanum, lovely. This is a beautiful, richly dark, slightly sweet scent.
