Foxcroft Intense

Mossy, dark, wet, spicy underneath; it's like stepping into an old nature center building on a rainy fall, or maybe early spring, day. The evergreen/pine-y smell mixed with patchouli and a bit of the smoke combines to a cinnamon-like heat. There is the distinct smell of rotting wood tying it all together.

Sampling this next to the OG Foxcroft, this has the same wet leaves heart note, but this version is deeper, sweeter, less damp green leaves and more mossy forest floor. On my skin the opening is marked by heavier sweetness and mossiness, and dries down to the same Foxcroft DNA.

a trudge through a fog-cloaked woodland. felled, decaying leaves litter the forest floor. wet, murky, overpowering—it's as though you're seeing, touching, tasting this forest through your sense of smell. no cold stone left unturned, no rotten log without mushroom. let me just say, WOW. calling this fragrance anything less than powerful would be a gross understatement. upon application, oakmoss hit me straight in the mouth. i mean really, truly, this scent is POTENT. it performed beautifully, wearing well throughout the day (even in spite of rainy conditions) and projected well. more subtle scent notes became apparent as time passed. however, there was absolutely, positively Never a moment i became noseblind to it LOL now, with this in mind, Foxcroft Intense is definitely not for everyone. i feel confident in saying some would find it Very offensive. but, if you're looking for something riveting, intense—kudos to the appropriate naming—i urge you to try it. it's left an unforgettable impression on me.

on first application, this smells like mushrooms to me. I definitely get the earthiness. Smells a lot better on my testing fabric than on my skin.

Just like the original Foxcroft + add man's cologne heavy on vetiver, oakmoss and levander. Very strong performance, but not as cool as the original.

This fragrance reminds me of this awful peppery fragrance that one of my friends used to wear all the time. Just reminds me of black pepper with a tiny dose of lavender laundry exhaust. It opens with a lot of earthy, damp, dank petrichor and certainly has woody notes, but they don't smell like any one particular type of tree. Maybe a "lumber yard" vibe. There is also an herb in it that I honestly hate. Definitely a pass. Probably my most disliked fragrance from this house, sorry to say. There are so many I love, so there's bound to be one that is disagreeable!

Amazing scent, my personal favorite from the brand. I'm not typically a fan of indie perfume oils as I usually find them to be a bit muddled, but the EDP version of Foxcroft Intense is gorgeous. It is sweeter and more approachable than the original Foxcroft, though the mossy leaves accord is still recognizable throughout. On my skin it first comes across as a juxtaposition of the sweetness of cherry and lavender over the herbal bite of moss, decaying leaves and needles. The sweetness gradually retreats and the woody aspects of the fragrance become more prominent. Several hours in this simmers down to a nice lightly smoky and earthy moss, with a nice dose of pine needles that is present throughout the life of the scent. Foxcroft intense captures the fall scent of piles of leaves very well, though some may be put off by the dank nature of the moss.

I don't get sweet fruit notes at all, just forest loam, green wood, oakmoss and old wood notes. It has far more loam and forest-floor in it than the simple Foxcroft, so I like it a bit less, but it does smell like a hike in a forest to me.
