Heat of the Night

Heat of the night is a dusky nightfall scent. Tropical citrus, mango, bergamot, coconut, vanilla, amber and a bit of orange blossom open the scent. After about a half hour, the spices start to kick in, the patchouli and musk grow deeper. Its very rich, sultry, bordering on decadent. Its perfect as summertime begins to fade and the autumnal colors begin to herald the coming of fall. Its one last tropical party as summertime ends. Beautiful. Id love to layer Kenzo L'elephant with it.

Don't you just love when your impression of a scent changes dramatically over time? I'll leave the old 'review' just to illustrate how dramatic it can get. New impression (~8 months later) - very pleasant orange that becomes fainter and fainter to give way to the other elements listed in the description. It's weird how natural and light it smells, unlike many sweet/gourmand scents out there. And I have a strong dislike for that category. I'd actually love to wear this almost every day. It's sweet but complex. It doesn't smell plain or remind you of food/candles/soaps. At least not anymore. I can't figure out what changed. I sample all the scents after they've been still for weeks after shipping. Old impression - very chalky plain cheap soap on me, sadly.

The orange is a little chalky at first but it smooths out. This is very warm amber with tropical fruits, spices, and woods. If you like Edge of the Night, try this one too. They share the same base but Heat of the Night has a tropical vibe. A sensual, summer evening fragrance.

I have this in the burnishing glace. It sits close to the skin on me and it's delicious but hard to pick up specific notes in it. Kind of smokey, kind of floral and very mysterious.
